Typical sushi roll at Bonsai Sushi
    Brad P.

Best sushi in Provo. I go here often. In fact, I come in, tell the guy at the register that I want my regular roll, hand him $12.00 and head to my regular table. They do the rest. My go to is the Godzilla. The rolls are very reasonably priced and are at least 12 pieces! One roll fills me up. And the service is impeccable. When I ask for more wasabi and ginger, it is brought out immediately. I don't often go to the same restaurants repeatedly because I like trying new places, but this is the place, given the proper income, that I'd easily go to lunch every single day, if I could. If you're looking for great sushi, good prices, and good quantity, come to Bonsai first!!!

Consistently good! The Cuban roll and torched Maguro are the best items on the menu! I drove 45 minutes to get some sushi I could depend on, but they were closed

The rolls are a little bit loose but they hold together when picked up. Not the best sushi I've had but it's still really good! I'll definitely come here again. We got our rolls to go and they packaged it beautifully. Also we got two boba smoothies (taro and green tea) both were yummy.

A good bang for your buck kind of place to go and grab some sushi. The rules are quite large so don't over order like we did by ordering six rolls for four of us. Our favorite role was the firecracker roll! The only downside is the environments a little funky overly utilitarian... And we couldn't quite figure out why there was a European landscape in front I didn't quite fit with the whole vibe of a sushi place ;-)

Cuban Roll wins every time! Easily the best sushi joint in Provo, they only do dine in until 7:30 right now tho!!

We love this place! Good bang for your buck and the quality has never wavered. Our favorites are the cuban, sunset, firecracker and mango habanero rolls. You won't be able to find better sushi for a cheaper price.

Had lunch here today. Food was delicious. The mango habanero one was unreal. Also I highly recommend their boba's. One of the best I've ever had. It was pretty quiet when we went in around 1:30pm so we had the place to ourselves. It was nice to not get caught in the lunch rush. Great food, cool place.

After reading all the positive reviews I was excited to try this place out. My husband and I placed an order for take out. The lady I spoke with was very nice and helped me find the best vegetarian option. We ended up ordering 4 sushi rolls, nigiri and a boba smoothie. Some reviews had mentioned how cheap the lunch rolls were but we ended up paying way more than I thought. The prices shown on the menu pictured on Yelp are way different than what we were charged. I'm assuming they raised their prices due to the pandemic... the sushi was just ok. I've definitely had better sushi. My husband said the yellowtail nigiri was not good at all. I don't think we'll be ordering from here again anytime soon.

This place is amazing. Every single roll was well put together and the server was so sweet and brought us plenty of extra ginger when we asked. Can't wait to come again

Top is mango jalapeño (fried), middle Godzilla (fried) and the bottom is the Cuban.

My new favorite sushi spot! Everyone that works here is always nice. Food is consistently fresh and tasty! I haven't tried a roll I didn't like. But I have my faves! The mango jalapeño, the Cuban and the special is pretty good as well.

This place is tiny but it wasn't busy so we had no problem getting one of the two tables. The restaurant is nicely decorated, clean, and comfortable. Service was friendly, specially from the sushi chef. The server was reserved and not very engaging, but he was efficient. The sushi was delicious and presentation was awesome. We ordered the Sunset, Bonsai, Hulk, Lady in Red, and sake maki rolls. All very enjoyable. I loved that the sunset had real crab, the sashimi tasted very fresh, the salmon had a nice fat content, and the fried shrimp and asparagus were crisp. The problem I had with the sushi was that it came apart easily so kind of messy, it needs to be rolled a little tighter. I'll come back for sure.

Maybe ok. No appetizers, only sushi rolls, nothing else. Wasabi is weak. Most rolls taste the same. Too may ingredients.

So many different ways to experience it! The cream cheese wontons were also a hit. The appetizers are included in the all you can eat price, so try them! The big downside to Mr. Shabu is that it's so expensive. I would come back all the time if it weren't for the price. You have to do "all-you-can-eat" for the hot pots, and it costs over $30 per person. Because of that, I probably won't return anytime soon and it makes me very sad.

Fun Concept, Needs More Punch…read more I recently brought my family to Tsubame Rotating Sushi to celebrate my son's birthday, and overall, it was a mixed but worthwhile experience. The main appeal, the rotating sushi belt, was a huge hit! My son was super stoked and absolutely loved the novelty of picking exactly what he wanted right off the conveyor. It certainly makes for a fun, interactive family meal. The Food While the concept is great, the quality was a bit lacking for my wife and me. We found the flavors weren't punchy or vibrant enough to really stand out. Best Roll: The Ponzu Citrus Roll was my favorite, offering a nice, bright flavor. Good Option: The fried options, like the Fried Jalapeño Popper Roll, were generally tasty, but still felt a bit typical or "boring." Skip: My least favorite was the Mango Roll. Bland, no flavor but coconut and rice. Service & Atmosphere On the bright side, the service was excellent. Our server was very nice and was super on top of drink refills, which we really appreciated throughout the meal. The design and overall vibe inside the restaurant were also nice and pleasant. Overall: Come for the fun experience and interactive concept, especially if you have kids (perfect for trying different types of sushi at only $3.59 a plate). If you're looking for top-tier, complex sushi flavors, you might find the food a bit understated.

No. Does it have to be? Also, no. It was very much worth $3.59 a plate (2-4 pieces depending). I enjoyed being able to sample a wide variety, and the staff here were extra delightful. I particularly enjoyed the cookie butter taiyaki for the dessert.
