Not sure what happened at Sea Craft over the last year. This used to be the place we loved to go, however having visited three times in the last two weeks we sadly have to say that it has gone downhill fast. Servers have been great, and through no fault of their own it is the bar and the kitchen that is letting them and us down. You have to wait 30 minutes for a drink. The bar is slammed with two bartenders. Secondly running out of menu items on a Friday holiday is very poor planning. Third, our poor server had three tables of 6 and four tables of four to handle all by herself. She kept apologizing and it was not her fault. While it looked like the two managers (or maybe owners) were really good at filling your water glass, they did nothing to help out. I get it that hiring staff is problematic and local rumors have it that a bunch of seasoned staff quit, however support your staff. On the positive side the cod tacos, clam chowder, and swordfish dishes were very good. They also gave us four additional clam cakes when one clam cake in our order of four was just burnt clam cake batter. We might try it again later in the season, however for now it will be a no go for us. read more

We went here for the lovely views of the ocean. There's plenty of outdoor seating either at tables or in adirondack chairs on a grassy area. There's even a little fire pit. We started with clam chowder which was actually one of the best clam chowders I've ever had. It was creamy New England style but not too thick and with the twist of a little spicy chorizo. To top it off there was a soft fluffy clam cake floating on top. Cocktails were light and refreshing. They were made with real juice rather than syrup. I had The Summer Spritz with fresh strawberry juice, lemon and basil. My friend had a spicy mango margarita which wasn't too sweet. However my fried fish sandwich and the accompanying fries were a big disappointment. The fish was under-salted, under seasoned and bland. The roll was dry with hardly any condiments and missing the slaw that it was supposed to come with. The fries, while made from freshly cut potatoes, were limp and greasy. My friend had the fish taco and enjoyed hers. I would go again for the views and the delicious chowdah but I won't be ordering anything fried again! read more

Stopped in today to sit out front and have some drinks. We waited 20 minutes for a server. She finally showed up and asked everyone around is if they needed anything else. She completely ignored us. As she was walking away, we asked if we could order. She proceeded to pick up an empty appetizer plate from behind us and said(with attitude) that she would be right back. Waited another 10 minutes, she brings the bill to the people directly behind us and turns around very quickly and goes back up onto the porch and asks people that she had just asked if they need anything. We just got up and left. Going out is too expensive now to have to deal with bad service and attitude. It is such a shame, the previous restaurant, Turtle Soup, was spectacular. I made a reservation at SeaCraft under somewhat disappointing circumstances-- namely, the fact that MOB burned down and was no longer available for dinner. However, the food, drinks, and atmosphere did not disappoint! To start, I had a lovely little purple gin drink-- pretty and strong, just how a cocktail should be. That was followed with some oysters, which were the highlight of the meal. Chilled, beautifully shucked and arranged, fresh from the ocean, and served with cocktail sauce and mignonette. Disappointing experience! We had an outdoor reservation only to be seated indoors in the back corner of the restaurant (didn't have avail). Why reserve outdoors then?? That is the only reason to be here. The views. Food was mediocre and overpriced. No way that tuna was sushi grade. It was gray (rare). People complain about service but that was actually okay. We arrived around 5:30 p.m. and were seated promptly. It took about 20 minutes to receive our first round of drinks. While walking to the bathroom, I overheard the manager explicitly instruct our waitress to wait ten minutes before entering our food order. By the time the waitress returned, we had already finished our drinks. Anticipating further delays, we placed our full order--appetizers, entrées, and drink refills--all at once. The appetizers arrived piecemeal. At one point, the wrong items were brought to the table, which we sent back. Our drink refills did not arrive until we notified the waitress that we had been waiting over 45 minutes. When the food came out, the burgers and fries were cold. We spent $322 for dinner and two rounds of drinks for six people--four drinking, six eating. The service issues we experienced were unacceptable given the price point. It was especially frustrating to see this pattern continue. The previous restaurant at this location, Turtle Soup, was well-run and consistently popular. Since the change, long delays and poor service have become a recurring problem. This marks the third consecutive visit where significant delays in drink service alone have either led us to leave without ordering food or reconsider returning. For what was meant to be a special birthday dinner, this experience was extremely disappointing. read more

Excellent dining experience! Our server, Natalie, was personable, attentive and knowledgeable of the entire food and drink menu. The food is amazing. The calamari was cooked perfectly and so tasty. The Dirty Rice dish was loaded with shrimp, little neck clams, brown rice and a delicious slow cooked chicken leg. The salmon was served over a bed of purple smashed cauliflower, with artichokes and pesto, also cooked to perfection. Kudos to Troy Turcotte, Executive Chef! We chose a Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio to pair and thoroughly enjoyed both. We were seated at a high top table for two in the bar area with gorgeous ocean view. My daughter and I spent a few hours on the front lawn of this establishment, sipping beverages and people watching. She had a delicious mocktail (although $15 is pretty steep for a glass of juice...) and I had an espresso martini, and their special old fashioned. We also shared the truffle fries, which were delicious. They were crispy, flavorful, and came with a dipping sauce that was really great. We were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar tonight on a perfect 10 night in Narragansett! Connor the bartender introduced himself right away and shook hands , super friendly! We had shrimp cocktail they were served on ice & excellent ! Our meals came and I can tell you the food was nothing short of simply amazing! The chef is an artist. We also had chowder which never have we had anything like it before! The local scallops risotto & asparagus was a 12 out of 10! Fish tacos were fabulous with a lil spicy kick. The atmosphere is great , good moody music, friendly staff we think it was the owner or manager did check in with everyone too & very hands on!! Views are amazing , super clean , great outside casual seating on the water. There honestly is nothing we could possibly say was not perfect especially when it was slamming busy! What A great way to enjoy the fury of the ocean on a stormy night! Had front row seats of the Ocean view while we dined on some absolutely delicious foods. The calamari was absolutely stupendous! Some of the best I've ever had. The bartender and waiter, Eric was very friendly and Very observant of our needs. He even remembered all of our names, really impressed me. The food was great! We had an array of different things from the enochi's, to blackened pork chops and A salmon entree and a lobster sandwich, which all were very very good. 1 star We went to Sea Craft for my son's 18th birthday, and it was one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. We waited over two hours for cold, subpar food. The waitress was inattentive and rude, yet they automatically added a 20% gratuity, making it clear that service quality didn't matter to them. We had small children with us, and it took 25 minutes just to get a Diet Coke. Meanwhile, a table of four who arrived 20 minutes after us received their food well before we did--and even they commented on how ridiculous the wait was. Food was very YUMMY! Highly recommend the chowder and chicken dish. Also the patio out front has great seating and a wonderful view. But... the atmosphere and service weren't amazing. It felt like half the place was a downtown bar while the other half was a small dining area. The music was way too loud - so loud we couldn't hear the server talking to us two feet away. In addition it's not super family friendly, there was no children's menu or food offerings for kids. Our server was a sweetie - made sure we were enjoying ourselves and that we had everything we needed. The cocktails were excellent. They infuse their own gin and dehydrate fruits for decor. We had the most mediocre dinner experience at Sea Craft. I'll start with the good, the food for the most part was decent, all dinners were pretty good as was the corn and tomato pizza- nothing life changing. The tuna crudo was terrible, the tiniest portion I've ever seen, fishy tuna and a copious amount of toppings to smother the fishy tuna taste. I've eaten my fair share of raw fish and this missed the mark of freshness. The service is where things really went south. The one server working the patio was absolutely over-whelmed- he was trying his best but was not able to keep up - management should have been out there backing him up, no excuse. The bartender was curt and rude about "sentiment" in a glass of white wine, I've seen tartrate before and this was not it. Overall, this experience was not worth the price. Plenty of other fantastic establishments in the area with better service and food quality. Major disappointment. read more

The old Pier House is a bit of an institution around here, and Sea Craft has done a beautiful renovation to the place. They also headed off with a bit of a rocky start, staffing up with the tailwind of COVID. In the summertime this worked out just fine. Deck chairs and chilled Rosé, a little breeze off the water, tough to complain about that. Now that winter is here the spot is really just starting to hit its stride. The bar staff is making some of the best built classic cocktails in Narr. And they've hired a new head chef away from the Ocean House. Narragansett needed a fine dining room. Since Basils closed, (we miss you) there really hasn't been fine dining in the area. This probably the best option for miles around. Take a look at Chef Will's insta feed, it's pretty fantastic. Quick note, they save a bunch of the specials for the new Sunday brunch. Totally worth checking out, after they get back from vacation that is (I hear they will be closed for some of January and reopening just before Valentines Day). read more

I don't honestly get the bad reviews. This place was well designed and right next to the ocean. It's somewhat mind blowing considering what a dump the former place was (before the remodel). Our waitress was extremely prompt and greeted us as soon as we sat down. She also checked on us throughout the meal. I see a bunch of comments about the service but we didn't experience that. We got the elote salad which was delicious, the grilled salmon (I cleaned my plate) and my boyfriend got the cod which was also delicious. The only con that he had was that his plate didn't have quite enough food for his liking. Mine was perfect. Drinks wise, he got the sah-wheat beer and I got the Pinot gris from Willamette. Enjoyed this restaurant in the recent past (as Turtle Soup), but this visit was sorely lacking. We were seated fairly promptly at an outdoor table (within 15 minutes of our reservation time); but didn't see our waitress for at least 10 minutes. She took our drink order and disappeared for another 20 minutes (no check in or explanation). We waved her over to put in an app order and she then said, "sorry, the bar is pretty backed up". Seemed she was either having a bad night or we were a nuisance to her. We decided to put in our entire order, in case the kitchen was also backed up. I ordered the Cod Loin dinner and was told they just ran out. She offered the fish sandwich (also cod) as an alternate with the caveat that she'd check to see if that was still available. She asked if I had a back-up in the event it wasn't and I chose clams casino and a cup of chowder. After another 10 minutes or so, our drinks arrived. Our food started coming (piece by piece from several food runners) about 20 minutes after that. I was brought my fish sandwich, the clams casino AND the chowder. I asked the server to please send our waitress over. She arrived at the table and said, "There's a problem?" (more attitude). When I explained, she said, "Oh...I thought those were your apps." I said, "No, but we are still waiting on the calamari" and she said it should be out soon. (Meanwhile, a neighboring diner ordered and was enjoying the Cod Loin dinner - LOL) She checked in once during dinner; and we didn't see her again until we flagged her down for boxes and the check. At this point she offered a second round of drinks / dessert. All of the sudden we started getting bombarded by beetles...to the point where they were in our hair, on our clothes and landing in our left overs. When she came back, she mentioned the unboxed food and we told her why we weren't taking it. She proceeded to remind us that it IS summer in New England (more attitude), and told us the story of her walking her dog that morning and fighting off a dragon fly. It took some time for her to cash us out so we actually left our table and waited by the entrance (because of the bugs). She said, "sorry", thanked us for coming and we left. Ambiance? My girlfriend was served an overpriced overcooked steak that was tough as shoe leather. She ordered a hamburger since I was already done with my dry chicken sandwich served on a soggy bun. She said it was the worst hamburger she ever had. The fries were soggy and tasted like they were cooked in rancid oil. Completely unacceptable. Drinks were overpriced at $20 a mixed drink.
