The bar tender was friendly. We stopped in before our dinner reservation next door on a Saturday evening. They were out of patron tequila and Bacardi rum. They were able to sub but the coke was flat as well. The margarita was not good. Overall cute place but needs to be fully stocked. read more

Second location with the original downtown Salt Lake. Glad to see they kept the custom riverbank tables from the previous place. We went on a Monday night and it was very quiet, I get the feeling that this is a weekend type place. It's a pretty decent place for the locals, I assume when the massive apartments get completed, it's going to be packed all the time. Good thing they can walk over since parking lot is limited. The food menu is relatively small and while have Aussie names, don't have any Australian ties whatsoever. The food was decent but pretty average for bar food. Everything we ordered would order again. When looking for drinks, make sure you look around as there were more beers at the bar than on the menu. The bouncer was pretty chill as it was the tiniest chihuahua. read more

Boomerangs is a dual-location bar with pubs in Millcreek and Downtown. The downtown location is something you'd expect to find there with salty bar tenders and live local music from time to time. If you're feeling down then they may be on your level. A good place to waste some time before a night at the Eccles, or after their event for some down to earth yellow beer and fries if you're feeling so cultured. The bitter Parramatta is always ready at the bar. The Millcreek location is much bigger and flat. This one-level rubbidy has a stage for everything from singer-song writers to bands to DJs. They have an industry night every Monday if your haunt is feeling drab. I don't mean to say Boomerangs is a hot night spot, but they have acts of interest to locals fairly regularly. This touch of locale makes me adore the joint. The chalkboard concierge with the day's specials is nice. The rotating low-budget beers and passionate meals are always worth considering. They do serve mixed drinks but the wall-o-booze is shallow. Not ones to show off, bottles needed are those on display. No glitz and glamour at the handsome bar. No stubby tastings. An ample patio with shade is always available. Locals like Boomerangs. It's a solitary watering hole bordered only by The Millcreek Bar and Bongo's a mile away. The food menu is adequate. A nice little dive bar. The drinks were not too expensive. The service was a bit slow but there wears only one single bar tender. The chicken basket, nachos, and tater tots were actually really good. A decent place to grab some quick food while out drinking. read more

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! We went on a Sunday morning for brunch. There were about 4-5 tables sat, so it was not busy at all. We ordered the breakfast sandwich with over hard eggs. This entree is supposed to be served with hashbrowns. What we received: A breakfast sandwich on TOAST with over EASY eggs and French fries with fry sauce + no silverware! The second entree we ordered was biscuits and gravy with their side of hashbrowns. I ordered my egg scrambled. What we received: Biscuits that tasted like grease from sausage and bacon, an over easy egg on top of the biscuits and 1/4-1/2 Cup of shredded hashbrowns. Service was minimal/lackluster(they just don't care). We had to get up and ASK for silverware, and condiments AFTER our food was delivered. I had them make the scrambled eggs that I originally ordered, only for them to deliver them to the table when we were finished eating. (Scrambled eggs take 2 minutes to make.) Their menu pics and website pics are not congruent with what you actually receive. Servers only checked on us once and never asked how our meals were. When we left, I accidentally left my keys on the table as I wasn't the one driving. Halfway home I realized that I didn't have my keys so I placed a call to ask if I had left them on the table and they said they were not there. We drove back and surely enough, the table had not been bussed and my keys were still where I left them! We've been here a couple of times and really like this place! The drinks are pretty decent and the food is too. The Kpop fries - YES, PLEASE! The Dundee breakfast was a lot of food with nice, thick bacon (my fave!) And it was cooked perfectly. This place was amazing!! Their burgers and cheesesteaks are so good and the meats are juicy. Their drinks are good too and I'd suggest the Georgia Peach and Banana Blender are great choices for sweet drinkers like me. The bartenders/servers are very efficient and quick to help you which was a happy surprise for a bar! The place gave a chill Australian vibe. Love this place! It's our go-to bar and grill. We started going for Sunday brunch, but now hit it up at least once during the week. Poker night is a lot of fun too. A great crowd. Most bar food is usually nothing to rave about, but the food here is excellent! I wouldn't say they have a cook, they have a Chef. There's always some unique specials, but whatever we get is always fantastic. And this is no exaggeration: I have had steak there, whether steak salad, or on the breakfast menu, that rivals anything I've ever had at Ruth's Chris. I'm not sure how to even start this. Coming in to this restaurant for lunch.... We sat down to have someone who was working on moving tables around. 15 ish minutes to get our drinks... he comes back to say the chef was running late and it will be a few minutes. We were ok with it. Keep in mind he said a few minutes. That's when we seen 2 dogs running around having free range of the restaurant bar... a few minutes turned into 15 than 30 than 45 minutes. Finally our order gets taken. 20 ish minutes later we see a girl race in then shortly after that a guy Rushing towards the kitchen. The waiter then comes over and said it will be out shortly. Come to find out our waiter was possible the owner. So we wait. The dogs started to fight twice. Still having full run of the place. One came over to me as I told it to go away... ( hubby is scared of dogs ) the waiter came over multiple times to tell us a few more minutes. 3 more minutes. One more minute... we waited 10 minutes to the second as my watch hit 10 minutes we got up and went to leave. The waiter looked into the kitchen and said our meal was ready... too late! We were done! Why pay for this service or food ? I walked over to the waiter to tell him even I couldn't do a food review on this place it was so bad. read more

4 days before a 12 group gathering I advised that we were coming for drinks and food. The information was taken and when we arrived tables were not arranged for our seating. We were allowed to move the tables ourselves. The meat was greasy and veggies juice soaked into the back part of bun making it less desirable to finish. The onion rings were too hard on outside and the whole onions were thin pulling out of the crust when completing my bite. I never had such a terrible plain margarita, it couldn't even be fixed so I settled on a beer. The kitchen ran out of birria and steak so a person had to settle on a third choice. If a person is drunk eating the food here would be ok. I diffidently would not chance taking a group here again. We get together for drinks, good food and conversation. We were the only ones seated and asked that the music be turned down so we could hear conversations. I feel with two notifications that we were coming that the kitchen would have made a better effort in preparations and flavor. Our waiter was amazing thank goodness. read more

Went for a trivia night. Food was ok but drinks were slow and not great. Odd drink menu for an Australian themed place and had more of a club/tiki vibe than I expected. Random dog walking around and the show Cops on the TV made for an overall weird vibe that night but I could see regulars liking it. read more
