I really liked this spot! I was craving popcorn chicken, and this place did not disappoint. Even though it was pricey, for $13 you get a lot of popcorn chicken, enough that it can be shared between two people if you wanted. I also got the Black Sesame Matcha and modified the sweetness. It was perfect! The service was quick, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My only thing is that the prices seemed a bit steep/expensive, but the quality was really good.
Probably one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in California! I absolutely love the honey walnut shrimp burger. The nori fish sandwich is pretty good too but doesn't hit as hard as the shrimp burger. The strawberry corn milk is very unique and one of my favorites here. The taste is definitely for someone who enjoys the flavor of corn but it's not overpowering. The ba-la matcha is guava matcha which is also good. Food and drinks came out quick, no complaints there. Staff were all nice. The interior has seating and it's nicely lit with the windows.
There is a promo on Doordash currently - 45% off orders $15+! Amazing deal! Got the Scallion Pancake Chicken Wrap Supreme ($14.50) was pretty good. It consisted of a house made scallion pancake with chicken tender, egg, cabbage, Thai basil, and cheese. It looked pretty small similar to a snack wrap but it was very filling. The chicken tender was similar to popcorn chicken. Wished it was more crispy since it seemed pretty dry and not much of a crunch. The pancake was a bit bland but I enjoyed that it wasn't as oily as scallion pancake usually is at other places. Overall, I felt like this was slightly overpriced but it was worth trying! The Black Sesame Matcha ($8.50) was amazing! I got it in large so that was extra $1. Requested it with regular ice, half sweet, and oat milk and really enjoyed that it wasn't packed with ice and not overly sweet. It's nice that they don't charge extra for milk substitutions! The matcha tasted very rich in flavor and I could tell they most likely use ceremonial quality matcha. The sesame was very nutty and really enjoyed that they make it in-house. This was definitely one of my favorite drinks! NOTE: it's very important to give it a good stir prior to drinking otherwise the sesame just sinks on the bottom! The Lychee Pear Blossom ($8) was so good! I got it half sweet with regular ice and it was just the right amount of sweetness and ice! Loved how they use fresh lychee and pear with no artificial colors or flavor! This drink was very refreshing and fruity! The green tea wasn't too overpowering and made the drink even more enjoyable! Overall, I really enjoyed my drinks and the wrap was ok. The prices are slightly higher than other cafes but it's nice that they use real fruits without any artificial flavors or colors unlike many other places!
So, I appreciate that they made sure my shrimp burger had no onions since I'm allergic to them. But unfortunately, it needed more flavor and sauce. I was so disappointed because I've had it multiple times before and it was delicious. It seemed like an off day in general when I went on March 21st because the drinks also weren't up to their usual standards. The pear lychee tea didn't have lychee flavor. Great pear and jasmine flavor though. And the orange wang was strangely bitter! I've had it before and it wasn't like that! Good tater tots though, fresh and crispy. Service was friendly as always. Bummer that things weren't as great as usual. Hoping next time I visit it's good.
4 years later, and Bopomofo is probably my favorite boba and tea spot! Mainly because they now offer seating and are not exclusively to-go. I like to come here with my laptop, tablet, and journal to "lock in," and I often get a lot done. I'm currently writing this on a Wednesday afternoon (around 2:45 PM) in June, and it is not busy at all. Some people are sitting and working on their computers, but the parking lot is pretty much empty. Probably the emptiest I've seen it (and it gets very very busy). The wifi wasn't working when I arrived. My devices were connecting to the network, but nothing was loading, and I kept getting those "Check your connection" messages. There was a male staff member checking in on everyone, so I asked about the wifi. He checked and said they restarted the router, and shortly, I was able to connect and be online! So thank you :) Drinks are still unique. Every once in a while, there are special deals and discounts and seasonal drinks of course. I'm glad to see they made the black sesame matcha a permanent addition to the menu, because it often sold out quickly during spooky season. Still recommend Bopomofo. I haven't been to any of their other locations, but it's nice to see them expand. Congrats btw! I hope they come out with a rewards loyalty program tho.
Always coming back to this spot for its strawberry corn milk! The corn and strawberry make it sweet enough so 25-50% sweetness level is good. The plaza itself is small parking-wise but they have a nice handful of non-caffeine options and a few tables inside. If you're feeling snackish I've also tried their mapo tots and popcorn chicken, a little pricey for the tots ($14) but very tasty and they always try to come up with new seasonal items!
I'll be honest--when I heard Bopomofo Cafe was taking over the old Jamba Juice spot in Downtown Disney, I was curious but not fully sold. Then I checked out their website and saw they had a fish sandwich featured by the LA Times... yeah, that definitely got my attention. So I went. Right away, the menu surprised me--in a good way. I noticed they had a shrimp burger, and since I just got back from Japan (and was still thinking about that McDonald's shrimp burger), I had to try it here. Order came out in under 10 minutes, which honestly isn't bad at all for how busy the area gets. First bite of the shrimp burger? Immediate happiness. Like, loud "mmmmm" type of happiness. For $15, you expect something solid--and it delivered. The patty was packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and the pickled jalapeños gave it a nice kick. Then that honey wasabi yuzu sauce came in with a sweet, tangy balance that just tied everything together. Not gonna lie... I liked this more than the one I had in Japan. Then came the fish sandwich. And wow. I'm pretty sure the fish is wrapped in nori, which already levels it up. Super crispy, tangy, a little sweet, a little creamy--just everything you want in one bite. It's one of those sandwiches where you immediately think, "Yeah, I could easily eat two of these." This place is seriously that good. What makes it even crazier? My best friend lives like two blocks away, and I've been in that area so many times without realizing I was this close to something this good. Safe to say--I'll definitely be back. Probably way too often.
The review is for the food since that's all i ordered! Came yesterday & got the spicy popcorn chicken & the hainan chicken tacos! ($32 total including tip) The star was the hainan chicken tacos!! I wanted to try it since it was something I've never seen before & it was delicious! I took it home to eat & the tortilla didn't get soggy & the flavor surprisingly works! The chicken is very tender too! Popcorn chicken was great in flavor too but wasn't not crunchy. I really liked it but the texture was not there. I like how they have the option for light or dark meat & spicy level still had flavor & wasn't just spicy seasoning on top, it was well coated.
The table that we sat at had food debris on it. Mentioned to the staff, came over with a bucket and a towel, and wiped the table. There was a lot of water left after wiping. It would have been a waste of paper napkins if we tried cleaning it ourselves, so we let it air dry. Probably took us about 15 min for the table to truly dry. At the table, the sitting area along the walls in the corner were not comfortable for long durations. They do have outlets below the sitting area to charge laptops in case you choose to do remote work there. We came on a Sunday afternoon and it was quiet, not too busy. Besides the wet table, the one thing that bothered us the most was the light fixture on the wall. It was going through so many light phases that I thought there was something going on with the electrical. Food was interesting, and having a shrimp patty was intriguing.
Bopomofo is an SGV icon serving up great boba and Taiwanese-inspired eats. I stopped by recently with some friends and we got the 2 for $14 large Ba-la (guava) matchas, spicy popcorn chicken, braised pork belly over rice, and the mapo tots. The guava matcha was such a refreshing drink, and I got mine unsweetened as the guava nectar is sweetened already. The spicy popcorn chicken was so addictive and flavorful and comes with a Thai chili aioli. I like that for their popcorn chicken you can choose between white meat and dark meat. We loved the braised pork belly dish, it was so hearty and comforting, and I only wish the portion size was a little bigger! This was also my first time trying the mapo tots, which is a very sharable dish. It comes with mapo tofu, ground, pork, and cheese! Parking is pretty easy in the strip mall which is a plus.
We finished dinner a couple blocks away and made our way to Bopomofo Cafe for a post-dinner sweet treat. This was my first time at the cafe, and the interior was well-decorated and comfortable, with neon lights adorning the space. The barista was friendly and helpful while I was deciding what to order. HEY SESAME MILK - 6.50 This is a lactose-free milk-based drink with a black sesame and honey paste mixed in. I asked for 75% sweetness since my cousin warned me that the regular level would be too much. The black sesame was incredibly hard to mix thoroughly, even though I was aggressively stirring my straw for a couple minutes. Overall, the drink was pretty good despite not mixing well. The black sesame flavor was incredibly roasty and nutty, but there could have been be a bit more of it. The honey was slightly overpowering. Bopomofo has an extensive menu featuring modern twists on traditional milk tea and coffee drinks, with fun flavors like strawberry corn milk and carrot matcha latte. There's also plenty of Taiwanese street food options, with mapo tots being one of their most popular items. If I'm ever at Bopomofo again, I'd definitely want to try some of their food as well.
Did you really go to LA if you didn't get boba? No no you didn't! Bopomofo is a widely popular boba spot known for their handcrafted drinks that use lactose-free milk (with no upcharge) and no artificial ingredients. The menu is stacked with unique and beautifully crafted drinks, not to mention their creative Taiwanese influenced snacks like mapo tofu tater tots. They have a small amount of indoor seating but if you have a large party, you might want to go elsewhere as it gets pretty crowded inside. Mapo tofu tater tots- this is a unique twist on chili tater tots. Its a shareable item but even with us 4, we couldn't finish it. The tater tots are so delicious and crispy even after the awaited 20 minute car ride. The combination of silky soft tofu and savory cheese is something you wouldn't expect to be so delicious when paired with the crispy taters. There was so much flavor in each bite. Spicy popcorn chicken- This wasn't as crispy as the taters but still flavorful and juicy. We opted for the chicken thigh/dark meat so it was quite tender and flavorful from the spicy seasoning. Orange WANG- We ordered 100% sweet so it was really sweet. I would get 75 or 50% next time. It did remind me of an orange popsicle stick. It was strong on the orange flavor with a creamy milky undertone. It was refreshing especially on a warm day. Hojicha latte- I've had better hojicha lattes but this one was still decent. I ordered 50% sweet and it was still sweeter than I typically like. I would get 25% next time. The hojicha wasn't as strong and in your face as I like it to be. I ordered online to skip the line but I still ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes after the estimated pick up time. They were really busy inside and you could see the workers working really hard. It was absolutely refreshing to see Phil there himself washing dishes, handing out orders and providing customer service. You can really tell how much heart and soul he puts into Bopomofo. A lot of influencers slap their name on a business and never show up to put in the hard work. It was just really nice seeing an owner really care about his customers and business. I've been a Wong Fu fan since they started on Youtube representing the small amount of Asian Americans I saw on the media. I didn't have the heart to ask for a photo because Phil seemed so busy but it was so nice to enjoy the experience and seeing him in person working hard. Bopomofo is a great spot to grab a unique drink and snack for that mid-day pick me up. Definitely get the mapo tofu tater tots! read more

If I was to write the review when I first came here...it would have been a 5. Foods and drinks still good. However, quality did went down a bit. The strawberry corn Milk flavor was not as strong as the first time. The amount of taro in the taro drink was very little. Like a smear on the cup. I am not sure if the size of cup matter much but back then I got a large and I got a good amount of taro. Even if I got a small this time around, the amount of taro shouldn't be so little. The portion of the Mapo tots was good but again, the amount of tofu was not enough. Like they sprinkled a few pieces on top and then the rest was was tots & sauces. I ate all the tofu of course and ended up throwing away the rest because without the tofu, the whole thangg was just too salty. I remember the matcha carrot was not bad. It was a pretty refreshing healthy drink. Sounded kinda weird then but it's normal to me now lol plus, it was pretty good. Coffee wasn't that great and teas were average. The shrimp sandwich was alright as well. It was fresh...there was something that I didn't liked about it but I don't remember lol I thought I posted the pictures then but I guess I didn't or not sure what happened to it. Overall, if I do return I will only get the milky drinks and probably add more taro. read more
Small boba cafe that serves food in addition to fun and creative drinks with a fun vibe. Just ordered a drink and no food this time cause me and some buddies came from a restaurant across the street where we had dinner. Ordered: 'Hoppy New Year' special for year of the rabbit. Carrot and pomegranate juice with lactose free milk and vanilla extract. With boba added for free. Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I was going to. Carrot juice so it felt a little healthy, haha. Good mix with pomegranate and vanilla. Boba added some fun texture and gave me something to chew. Service was super friendly and helpful. All in all delicious drink and great vibe. I would love to come back and try different drinks or even the food. read more

I would definitely come back next time for the food! There were so many delicious options for drinks that I was almost overwhelmed but the person working the register took her time in giving me recommendations and helping me with my order so I ended up with this orange creamsicle tasting drink. Believe me when I say, this tasted exactly like an orange creamsicle in liquid form. The orange flavor was hittin' in all the right spots and the creamy parts of the drink would tone down the tartness of the orange. It was an excellent blend between something refreshing and something milky. Solid drink! I can tell why this place was super packed! read more

Strawberry corn milk: 4/5 The first sip literally tasted like canned corn juice with milk but once I mixed everything together and all the strawberries broke into tiny pieces, it started tasting like strawberry milk with a hint of corn juice flavor which I ended up really enjoying. The drink was creamy and refreshing which was nice on a sunny day! Sprola: 3.5/5 This drink tasted very interesting but it was also refreshing after a heavy meal. It's basically just coke with a shot of expresso which you can make at home. This drink only comes in one size, a regular, and you can't adjust the sweetness. BA-LA matcha: 4.5/5 When I first sipped the drink with the lid, I was only able to drink the matcha part and when I tried mixing everything together with the straw, the guava part was too overpowering and sweet so I had to ask one of the workers for a larger cup so I can get a good mix. After I was able to get a good mix, the drink itself was so good and refreshing! If you like guava I highly recommend this drink. I got 50% sweet and it was the perfect amount of sweetness for me since the guava nectar itself was really sweet. The matcha was good too, it didn't taste too earthy. Popcorn chicken: 4/5 The chicken came out hot and crispy. The chicken was really juicy and I really enjoyed it. Recommend if you want a quick snack! I like how the cashier ask you what ice level and sweetness you want and if you want boba because a lot of times I forgot to let them know since I always like to adjust the sugar and ice level. I also like how you can substitute oat milk for free which you don't see many places doing. I will definitely come back to try their other drinks and their sandwiches. Awesome drinks, staff, and food! Easy free private lot parking. Things I've personally loved and recommend you to get: BA-LA Matcha Milk (5/5): The drink was made of guava nectar, milk, and matcha. Everything just blended so well together and i appreciated that the drink was not too sweet. Taiwanese basil popcorn chicken (5/5): Chicken was very crispy, juicy, and had great flavor. Mapo-tofu tater tots (5/5): Hot, crispy, gooey, flavorful, savory, pillowy goodness! I could not stop eating this! Bopomofo is easily one of the favorite places that I've visited during my latest LA trip. Can't wait to come here again and will miss them when back in Boston! read more

I decided to stop by this spot on a weekday to check out all the rage and was secretly hoping to bump into Phil. The staff was super friendly and it's a very chill and cute interior. There was sufficient seating and some folks were chilling with their laptops in the corner. At first, because the place was so booked, we were told it'd take 30 mins for the tofu tots. I was hesitant to wait due to crunch time but decided it'd be worth it, and I'm glad I did! It was a large portion with a good ratio of tots, cheese, tofu and sauce. This is definitely guilty pleasure food! The tots were hot and crunchy, pure ASMR content. All the drinks on the menu sounded amazing so I asked for the employee's recommendation. They liked B.O.G. and BA-LA Matcha - I was not disappointed! Both drinks were both very aromatic and the boba had the perfect chewiness. Overall, this is a great hangout spot with nice vibes and food! Bummed I didn't get to see Phil tho, haha! read more
Every time I fly out to LA, I tell myself I'll make the trip out here and I finally got the chance! First of all, there are so many options of drinks to choose from. I would've loved to order one of each but I settled for trying the Hey Sesame Milk and the Strawberry Corn Milk. I like the savory black sesame flavor. The Strawberry Corn Milk was interesting but definitely sweeter than I imagined. The popcorn chicken is definitely one of the best popcorn chicken I've ever had. I loved the thai basil aioli sauce that came with it. I also got the Heritage Lu Rou Rice, Taiwanese Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Honey Walnut Shrimp Burger. All were delicious but if I had to pick a fave - it would be the Honey Walnut Shrimp burger. Definitely really unique and very tasty. I'm very glad I made the stop out here and I will definitely do so again when I fly out west! read more

The best places always seem to have the worst parking, and Bopomofo is no exception. Come prepared to circle around the lot for a bit, but know that it'll be worth it when you finally get in. We came by around 1pm on a Friday to a packed parking lot and some of the seasonal drinks sold out, so consider coming early if you're set on one of those specials. The Strawberry Corn Milk is my go-to: there's not any other bubble places I've found that address my love of corn (and therefore corn juice) and the strawberry adds the perfect fruity touch without making the drink overly sweet. The Vineyard Green Tea (grape and pear juice) was deliciously refreshing on a warm day and definitely up there among my favourite fruit teas. Even though I live pretty far from here, I'll often crave it and make plans to come back - and I think that's pretty telling. read more
Hmmmm... corn and strawberry in one drink? YUMMY... and interesting! Usually when I come to Bopomofo, I've always been basic and ordered the jasmine milk tea. But recently I've been stepping out of my comfort zone and ordering uniquely-curated drinks and today I decided to try the strawberry corn milk and it did not disappoint! Me and my boyfriend got two different drinks. He got the taro sweet milk and gave it a rating of 7.5/10. The pink color really threw him off since taro drinks are usually purple. I got the strawberry corn milk and the combination of the flavors was... astounding! We both got 75% sweetness on both drinks but it was still SUPER sweet. Next time we come, we're ordering our drinks at 50% since it came out too sugary. Another con is the drinks are a little bit over priced for what they are. The workers are super kind and made sure we enjoyed our drinks as well. read more

Bopomofo has been on my bookmarks for a long time now and I was finally able to go with my niece. Parking has a private lot with tiny spaces. When you enter there is a side for pick up and a side for ordering. For the in person ordering folks like us, you order in front and they have a few small tables inside and outside of their tea shop. Take out orders seem to be popular. For our drinks, my niece had a large Brown Sugar Pudding Milk Tea with Boba 50% sweetness ($7.25) and I had a large Strawberry Basil Ginger Lemonade 75% sweetness ($6.25). Their drinks came with biodegradable bamboo straws but my niece's large boba straw seemed to have difficulty getting through the lid. We broke the first straw and had to force the second straw in. The struggle was real real. However my niece really enjoyed her drink. She kept complimenting how good it was. I like my drink too. It was refreshing for the humid weather we were experiencing, but it was a tad sweet despite having the sweetness reduced. We also shared an order of Naked Tots ($5) and Heritage Braised Pork Belly ($12). The naked tots were missing the ketchup it was suppose to come with but it was nice and crispy. The heritage braised pork belly came with a half egg and pickled mustard greens. I would have liked a whole egg. The pork belly was a little oily and there could have been more rice to absorb the sauciness. I also noticed they had outlets under some of the tables for those who were there studying or getting some work done. It was nice hanging out with my niece there. I like it but since I don't live nearby I'm not sure if I would come back when there's so many other tea shops to try out there. read more

Oh I have been following this restaurant for a few years now. I'm a huge fan of Phil and when I saw he co-founded this place- I knew I had to check it out when I'm in LA! I ordered the taro milk tea and it's by far the best taro milk tea I've ever had. It's made with real taro and the milk is sweet! The mapo tots are very unique and the popcorn chicken was juicy. My friend and I arrived early, how early? We were the first ones there. It was our first time at this location since the first one opened in Cerritos. We weren't sure what to order and decided to go with the vegan popcorn chicken and we each got a drink. The staff member taking our order was nothing but delightful and patient with us and every customer that came in. She was super friendly and answered any questions we had with a smile. We sat down and waited for our order. As we waited for our order, we watched others receive their food orders first. I guess because it was vegan it took longer? The place started getting busy at around 11:45 am. Aside from our order taking a while, the vegan popcorn chicken was absolutely amazing even without the Thai basil sauce. The sauce was delicious too! I was surprised it wasn't chicken. If I could rate 4.5 I would just because I feel they could improve on their timeliness. But since I can't they get a 5 because we always round up to support businesses that are doing things right. read more

This place gets busy but the staff are super friendly. As it was our first time checking Bopomofo out, I wasn't sure what exactly to get but the guy working the counter was helpful in telling me the overall flavors of the drinks so I could choose one that I'd enjoy. Happy to say, the Assam Milk Tea was pretty solid! The vegan popcorn chicken and the tater tots with an egg on top were flavorful and I'd highly recommend! As a study spot: I love, love, love how many outlets they had, stable wifi and the space didn't feel cramped. The shop music was moderate but as the day goes by, it gets busier and the noise level can increase. read more
Bopomofo has been wildly popular ever since they opened their doors since Phillip Wang from Wong Fu Productions is one of the cofounders of this cafe. IYKYK... When they first opened, I braved the lines to try their orange wang and matcha latte, which I thought were tasty. I love that they do not charge extra for oat milk, which is a win for all the dairy intolerant folks. On my most recent visit, I grabbed their seasonal summer blossom green tea which has house pressed lychee and pear juice. I really enjoy that they don't use any artificial flavors or syrups but instead use real fruit and pressed juice. I also ordered the mapo tots to go and asked to have it packaged separately so the tots remain nice and crispy. It was definitely an interesting combination but I think I prefer my mapo with rice. I tried a few bites of the heritage braised pork belly, which was delicious although a small portion. Only outdoor seating is available. Parking is in a shared lot with other businesses. read more

I've been following Phil since the "Strangers, again" days, and was happy to see Bopomofo expand to what it is today. We had tried Bopomofo when they came to Toronto/Markham in 2022 and loved their drinks which made us want to visit the actual location in San Gabriel. Before we knew it, we were on vacation in LA from Toronto and had to stop by! My favourite thing about Bopomofo is the consideration to lactose-free milk in all of their drinks given that the majority of us Asians are lactose intolerant. Whenever I get bubble tea somewhere else, I rarely get milk tea and always have to opt for fruit tea. Here, I can order all of the milk tea I want! I also appreciate the fact that there are no artificial syrups/flavours/powders in their drinks. We ordered ahead and picked up our drinks by the estimated time. It was not too busy on a weekday at 11:30 am. The vibe inside the cafe is calm and chill, and they have outdoor seating as well. Would definitely recommend ordering ahead to avoid the wait. The jasmine milk tea and assam milk tea were great, and "not too sweet". We had also ordered some food for lunch. My favourite dish was the Bopo beef dip. I personally love beef noodle soup so I appreciate the thought that went into making this new dish. Overall, would recommend for the drinks, food, and vibes. read more

Finally made my way to Bopomofo in SoCal after dreaaaming of trying their interesting menu!! Sadly they were out of their honey walnut shrimp burger which was what I was looking forward to most... they were out literally less than an hr after opening!!! We opted for their - Mapo Tots (basically mapo tofu over tator tots) which was soooo delicious!! the flavor of the mapo tofu was done so well and the tots were nice and crunchy - Heritage Lu Ruo Rice (braised pork belly, pickled mustard greens, soy egg over rice) which was nothing special, both presentation and taste wise and just didn't rly hit the spot - Ba-la Matcha (guava and matcha drink) was pretty dang good - I'm not usually a fan of mixing fruit with matcha (I never get strawberry matcha drinks) but I enjoyed this one and the added boba had a good texture. This was me trying to not let Phil from WongFu skew my judgement lol but overall, while I mostly enjoyed some of the items, it was a little anticlimactic for me! *food can take quite awhile, it was about a 25 min wait *they have some benches and a few tables indoors and a few tables outdoors as well read more

I love bopomofo. It's always a must visit when I visit LA. Food and drinks are thoughtfully planned. Feedback is always well received. That's how you run a great business and build brand loyalty. The food and drinks are just so unique here. Even though some of the options are not my favorites, I really like the outside of box ideas. You know it's good when other boba shops try and copy their recipe. My favorite drink is definitely watermelon oat milk with boba. It's so simple, yet taste so goooood. Strawberry corn milk is yummy too. Food here is good. I really enjoy the mapo tots, vegetarian popcorn chicken and of course the Taiwanese fried chicken sandwhich. Everything here is just so unique. I like how they have no fear of being out of the norm. They're slowly expanding, and I hope I'll be able to franchise one in the future. My fave cafe in SGV. Food and drinks are always top quality. If you're looking for Taiwanese fusion bites and real milk tea and drinks, please come and give bpmf a try! Their drinks quality has definitely gone up. This place is still busy depending on when you come. Seasonal drinks are actually pretty tasty and so far, I haven't had a bad tasting seasonal drink yet. The mint matcha is still perfection, I still wish for a larger size but its ok. I recommend trying out their seasonal drinks, I think most of it usually tastes better than their permanent drinks offered. Out of the permanent menu, I love the brown sugar pudding milk tea. The pudding is sooo soft and yummy. Its my fav topping from here. Mapo tots are still yummy though sometimes, the tots are too hard to bite into. The spicy chicken burger/sandwich here is actually really yummy, I definitely recommend it for a snack or quick lunch. The strawberry corn drink was good! The scent of corn is very evident and the sweetness of the drink comes from a mix of corn and strawberries. The popcorn chicken, both vegan and normal are great. Really really like their mapo tofu tots! The mapo tofu itself was so good (mapo tofu is one of my favorite dishes so I am admittedly picky) and surprisingly worked with the tater tots! The cheese added on top was also a nice addition that works! They have a black sesame drink that I enjoy called HEY Sesame Milk, which is accurately described as tang yuan in a cup, and they come in clutch with good food/drinks during Head in the Clouds. read more

I've been wanting to visit this place for awhile now since I heard that sometimes Phil from Wong Fu is here since he owns this place (I didn't get to meet him since he wasn't there). We went here on a Friday at 7pm and there was a short wait in line to order. Both the indoor and outdoor dining looked a little crowded at the time we went, so I was a little worried about finding a table, but still managed to find one. We ordered the Blueberry Cooler, Strawberry Basil Ginger Lemonade, and the Orange WANG! drinks all with normal 100% sweetness. When we tried our drinks, everything was good, but I would say the Orange WANG! was my favorite because it tasted like one of those orange creamsicle popsicles. My second favorite was the Blueberry Cooler because of how refreshing it was, and the Strawberry Basil Ginger Lemonade was my least favorite of the items I tried that day because the ginger flavor was a bit weird to me, but not bad. I'd recommend this place! It's a good place to try some unique drink flavors and they also sell snacks and food here if you want that instead! Bopomofo Cafe has been on our LA (actually San Gabriel Valley "SGV") bucket list for quite sometime and it didn't disappoint! They've got so many good drinks but we had the Frankie's Matcha with blueberry compote and matcha and matcha latte. The honey walnut shrimp burger was our fav with a thick shrimp patty, honey-wasabi-yuzu sauce, candied walnuts, pickled jalapenos, red onion, shredded romaine on a toasted King's Hawaiian Bun. A close runner up was the spicy Taiwanese spicy chicken sandwich layered with a juicy fried chicken between a bolo bun and crunchy cabbage slaw, cucumbers and a Thai basil aioli. Don't forget to get an order of the Mapo tots with mapo tofu, ground pork and cheese. Wish we had more space to eat more which only means we can't wait to go back again! read more
Carrot macha latte: interesting combo which I surprisingly enjoyed. I tasted both the carrot and matcha and neither overpowered each other. I got the regular sugar but I also tasted the 25% sugar and you definitely taste the carrot juice way more. Honey walnut shrimp burger: impressed that the whole patty was shrimp and not just full of breading. The breading was light yet crispy. Just wished there was more of the bomb sauce as the burger got a little dry the more I ate it. So glad to check this off my list during my LA visit! read more

WHAT I GOT: - Hojicha Latte ($7) - 8/10 - really good Hojicha taste which can be hard to find in the area! Highly recommend if you like hojicha - Hojicha Corn Latte ($7) - 7/10 - has that Korean corn taste if you like that, but I personally prefer just the Hojicha - Mapo Tots ($12) - 8/10 - crispy tots with cheese and Mapo sauce I think this is a really unique item on their menu and it's great when you're looking for a snack LOCATION: - In the plaza with Golden Deli, Hong Kong Dim Sum House, and 7-11. They have indoor and outdoor seating that can comfortably fit 2-4 people! Cute cafe vibes for sure! They have WiFi and outlets so it's a good place to work from as well. PARKING: - The plaza has a decent amount of parking but it fills up pretty easily cause there's other restaurants there. Can always try street parking as well. Some spots are only for 7-11 parking. WAIT: - No wait for a party of 3 on a Wednesday around 1 pm! All tables were open when we arrived. We stayed for about two hours it looked like some of the tables did start filling up NOTES/DEALS: - They have different Mapo combos for $20-$21 which saves you a few dollars compared to ordering them separately! read more

I love the jasmine milk tea and black milk tea here! The drinks are adjustable, which is great. Their drinks remind me a lot like Boba Guys! Prices are pretty steep compare to other local boba shops in IMO. Seating is available inside and outside, but pretty limited. Mainly to go. I haven't try their food items. AMBIENCE: (4/5) - Came here to study with a friend since I read that this was a good study spot with lots of outlets. We walked in and it's super crowded & saw that the 5 study tables were all full. We got lucky that a table opened up right when we ordered. Second time in LA and I had to stop by Bopomofo again! Staff were super nice and welcoming and also recommended a drink for my friend. Its a small cafe with just enough seatings. We came around 11am and there were plenty of seats. We ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp Burger, Taiwanese Fried Chicken Sandwich, mapo tots with runny egg, Strawberry corn milk and strawberry basil ginger lemonade. The shrimp burger was lightly battered and had a good amount of shrimp filling. The spicy taiwanese fried chicken sandwich was juicy and fried to perfection sandwiched with their famous pineapple bun. The runny egg with the mapo tots made the tots a bit creamy and flavorful. I was hesitant to try their strawberry corn milk, but surprisingly it was pretty good, not too sweet and you can actually taste the corn. Wish I was able to meet Phil that day, but maybe next time when I visit LA again. read more

There website is always broken. You have to go there in person and order there. No work around.

no they don't have a phone number because of how busy it gets. terrible if u have to cancel an order, i had to drive all the way over there!
Are you no longer taking postmates orders? All of my orders in two days on separate occasions keep getting cancelled.
There's no way to order in person so I think that may be why your orders are being cancelled.
