I really liked this spot! I was craving popcorn chicken, and this place did not disappoint. Even though it was pricey, for $13 you get a lot of popcorn chicken, enough that it can be shared between two people if you wanted. I also got the Black Sesame Matcha and modified the sweetness. It was perfect! The service was quick, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My only thing is that the prices seemed a bit steep/expensive, but the quality was really good.
Probably one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in California! I absolutely love the honey walnut shrimp burger. The nori fish sandwich is pretty good too but doesn't hit as hard as the shrimp burger. The strawberry corn milk is very unique and one of my favorites here. The taste is definitely for someone who enjoys the flavor of corn but it's not overpowering. The ba-la matcha is guava matcha which is also good. Food and drinks came out quick, no complaints there. Staff were all nice. The interior has seating and it's nicely lit with the windows.
There is a promo on Doordash currently - 45% off orders $15+! Amazing deal! Got the Scallion Pancake Chicken Wrap Supreme ($14.50) was pretty good. It consisted of a house made scallion pancake with chicken tender, egg, cabbage, Thai basil, and cheese. It looked pretty small similar to a snack wrap but it was very filling. The chicken tender was similar to popcorn chicken. Wished it was more crispy since it seemed pretty dry and not much of a crunch. The pancake was a bit bland but I enjoyed that it wasn't as oily as scallion pancake usually is at other places. Overall, I felt like this was slightly overpriced but it was worth trying! The Black Sesame Matcha ($8.50) was amazing! I got it in large so that was extra $1. Requested it with regular ice, half sweet, and oat milk and really enjoyed that it wasn't packed with ice and not overly sweet. It's nice that they don't charge extra for milk substitutions! The matcha tasted very rich in flavor and I could tell they most likely use ceremonial quality matcha. The sesame was very nutty and really enjoyed that they make it in-house. This was definitely one of my favorite drinks! NOTE: it's very important to give it a good stir prior to drinking otherwise the sesame just sinks on the bottom! The Lychee Pear Blossom ($8) was so good! I got it half sweet with regular ice and it was just the right amount of sweetness and ice! Loved how they use fresh lychee and pear with no artificial colors or flavor! This drink was very refreshing and fruity! The green tea wasn't too overpowering and made the drink even more enjoyable! Overall, I really enjoyed my drinks and the wrap was ok. The prices are slightly higher than other cafes but it's nice that they use real fruits without any artificial flavors or colors unlike many other places!
So, I appreciate that they made sure my shrimp burger had no onions since I'm allergic to them. But unfortunately, it needed more flavor and sauce. I was so disappointed because I've had it multiple times before and it was delicious. It seemed like an off day in general when I went on March 21st because the drinks also weren't up to their usual standards. The pear lychee tea didn't have lychee flavor. Great pear and jasmine flavor though. And the orange wang was strangely bitter! I've had it before and it wasn't like that! Good tater tots though, fresh and crispy. Service was friendly as always. Bummer that things weren't as great as usual. Hoping next time I visit it's good.
4 years later, and Bopomofo is probably my favorite boba and tea spot! Mainly because they now offer seating and are not exclusively to-go. I like to come here with my laptop, tablet, and journal to "lock in," and I often get a lot done. I'm currently writing this on a Wednesday afternoon (around 2:45 PM) in June, and it is not busy at all. Some people are sitting and working on their computers, but the parking lot is pretty much empty. Probably the emptiest I've seen it (and it gets very very busy). The wifi wasn't working when I arrived. My devices were connecting to the network, but nothing was loading, and I kept getting those "Check your connection" messages. There was a male staff member checking in on everyone, so I asked about the wifi. He checked and said they restarted the router, and shortly, I was able to connect and be online! So thank you :) Drinks are still unique. Every once in a while, there are special deals and discounts and seasonal drinks of course. I'm glad to see they made the black sesame matcha a permanent addition to the menu, because it often sold out quickly during spooky season. Still recommend Bopomofo. I haven't been to any of their other locations, but it's nice to see them expand. Congrats btw! I hope they come out with a rewards loyalty program tho.
Always coming back to this spot for its strawberry corn milk! The corn and strawberry make it sweet enough so 25-50% sweetness level is good. The plaza itself is small parking-wise but they have a nice handful of non-caffeine options and a few tables inside. If you're feeling snackish I've also tried their mapo tots and popcorn chicken, a little pricey for the tots ($14) but very tasty and they always try to come up with new seasonal items!
I'll be honest--when I heard Bopomofo Cafe was taking over the old Jamba Juice spot in Downtown Disney, I was curious but not fully sold. Then I checked out their website and saw they had a fish sandwich featured by the LA Times... yeah, that definitely got my attention. So I went. Right away, the menu surprised me--in a good way. I noticed they had a shrimp burger, and since I just got back from Japan (and was still thinking about that McDonald's shrimp burger), I had to try it here. Order came out in under 10 minutes, which honestly isn't bad at all for how busy the area gets. First bite of the shrimp burger? Immediate happiness. Like, loud "mmmmm" type of happiness. For $15, you expect something solid--and it delivered. The patty was packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and the pickled jalapeños gave it a nice kick. Then that honey wasabi yuzu sauce came in with a sweet, tangy balance that just tied everything together. Not gonna lie... I liked this more than the one I had in Japan. Then came the fish sandwich. And wow. I'm pretty sure the fish is wrapped in nori, which already levels it up. Super crispy, tangy, a little sweet, a little creamy--just everything you want in one bite. It's one of those sandwiches where you immediately think, "Yeah, I could easily eat two of these." This place is seriously that good. What makes it even crazier? My best friend lives like two blocks away, and I've been in that area so many times without realizing I was this close to something this good. Safe to say--I'll definitely be back. Probably way too often.
The review is for the food since that's all i ordered! Came yesterday & got the spicy popcorn chicken & the hainan chicken tacos! ($32 total including tip) The star was the hainan chicken tacos!! I wanted to try it since it was something I've never seen before & it was delicious! I took it home to eat & the tortilla didn't get soggy & the flavor surprisingly works! The chicken is very tender too! Popcorn chicken was great in flavor too but wasn't not crunchy. I really liked it but the texture was not there. I like how they have the option for light or dark meat & spicy level still had flavor & wasn't just spicy seasoning on top, it was well coated.
The table that we sat at had food debris on it. Mentioned to the staff, came over with a bucket and a towel, and wiped the table. There was a lot of water left after wiping. It would have been a waste of paper napkins if we tried cleaning it ourselves, so we let it air dry. Probably took us about 15 min for the table to truly dry. At the table, the sitting area along the walls in the corner were not comfortable for long durations. They do have outlets below the sitting area to charge laptops in case you choose to do remote work there. We came on a Sunday afternoon and it was quiet, not too busy. Besides the wet table, the one thing that bothered us the most was the light fixture on the wall. It was going through so many light phases that I thought there was something going on with the electrical. Food was interesting, and having a shrimp patty was intriguing.
Bopomofo is an SGV icon serving up great boba and Taiwanese-inspired eats. I stopped by recently with some friends and we got the 2 for $14 large Ba-la (guava) matchas, spicy popcorn chicken, braised pork belly over rice, and the mapo tots. The guava matcha was such a refreshing drink, and I got mine unsweetened as the guava nectar is sweetened already. The spicy popcorn chicken was so addictive and flavorful and comes with a Thai chili aioli. I like that for their popcorn chicken you can choose between white meat and dark meat. We loved the braised pork belly dish, it was so hearty and comforting, and I only wish the portion size was a little bigger! This was also my first time trying the mapo tots, which is a very sharable dish. It comes with mapo tofu, ground, pork, and cheese! Parking is pretty easy in the strip mall which is a plus.
We finished dinner a couple blocks away and made our way to Bopomofo Cafe for a post-dinner sweet treat. This was my first time at the cafe, and the interior was well-decorated and comfortable, with neon lights adorning the space. The barista was friendly and helpful while I was deciding what to order. HEY SESAME MILK - 6.50 This is a lactose-free milk-based drink with a black sesame and honey paste mixed in. I asked for 75% sweetness since my cousin warned me that the regular level would be too much. The black sesame was incredibly hard to mix thoroughly, even though I was aggressively stirring my straw for a couple minutes. Overall, the drink was pretty good despite not mixing well. The black sesame flavor was incredibly roasty and nutty, but there could have been be a bit more of it. The honey was slightly overpowering. Bopomofo has an extensive menu featuring modern twists on traditional milk tea and coffee drinks, with fun flavors like strawberry corn milk and carrot matcha latte. There's also plenty of Taiwanese street food options, with mapo tots being one of their most popular items. If I'm ever at Bopomofo again, I'd definitely want to try some of their food as well.
I've came a couple times here, and it never disappoints! Drinks: orange Wang taste like an Orange creamsicle dream. Milk jasmine tea always so good Coffee: brown sugar buzz so yummy !!! Seasonal drink: summer blossom 10/10!! I ordered the Mapo Tots with an egg on top, ah soooo good! Parking lot is good Service here is always sooo friendly . You will experience a wait time but it's reasonable since they are so popular and so worth it! read more
We stopped by at noon on Saturday. The parking lot is very crowded since it has quite a few popular spots, and the inside of the cafe was also super crowded. The crowd was mostly seated or standing on the side, and we were able to enter in and pick up our items easily. We ordered the spicy popcorn chicken, the Orange wang, and the brown sugar pudding drink. The spicy popcorn chicken is delicious, and I love the aioli with it. The Orange wang tastes exactly like a creamsicle, and it is great for a hot day. Our favorite was the brown sugar pudding drink as it is exactly the right amount of brown sugar. The egg pudding is also delicious with it. We plan to stop by again before we leave for home! read more
Came around 3 on a Saturday to a line out the door - apparently that's typical. Baristas took our order and let us know it would be a 20-25 minute wait for around 2 drinks, which is a little longer than most boba places I know but they were fielding a constant stream of pickup orders as well, so we decided to brave the wait. Strawberry Corn Milk ($6): pretty self explanatory, corn juice + strawberry puree + milk. Definitely a notable drink, I personally haven't seen too many corn-incorporated boba places so it was a nice change of pace. The strawberry provides a tangy bite to each sip, and the corn flavor is evident but subtle. If you're a corn lover like some people I know, I would recommend trying it at least once. Jasmine Milk Tea ($5.25 + .75 boba): definitely more on the bitter and milky side. We didn't get customizations on sugar or anything, so a slight letdown for the price and wait but the boba was somewhat of a redeeming factor. There's better places to get a classic like JMT. Store has outdoor seating but the inside is usually packed with people standing and waiting. There's a separate pickup counter and some really cool murals on the back wall. I'd recommend trying if you're near, but not something to travel for. read more

I thought this place would be overrated, but I ended up really enjoying the food, the drink, and the service. Tables here are first come first serve and there are some seats on the patio. Order your food and drink up front and find a place to sit! I like that they have different seasonal drinks to try, but they also have their fixed menu. It was also my first time to try their food, and while a little overpriced, I really enjoyed it. Cheery TikTok/K-pop music played in the background. You know you've stayed too long when you hear a song loop twice. Food: - Honey Walnut Shrimp Sandwich: Served on Hawaiian rolls, the panko-fried shrimp patty was really flavorful! I especially liked the hint of horseradish, giving the sandwich a little kick! This reminded me of the sugarcane shrimp cakes from dim sum. If you enjoy that dim sum item, you will surely enjoy this! - Lu Rou Fan (minced pork belly rice): Pretty small portion, and comes with only half a soft boiled egg and some Chinese pickled vegetables. The flavor is there, but you might not be full after eating this. Drinks: - Vineyard grape green tea: The server was super nice and did an awesome job explaining the drinks and giving her recommendations. This one tastes like grape and pear with green tea. I love pear juice so I was sold. She recommended 50% so that's what I did. It was actually still pretty sweet at 50% so I'm glad I got less sugar. Super refreshing drink! - BaLa matcha Latte: BALA = Guava in Mandarin Chinese! This was guava purée with matcha and lactose free milk. You can substitute the milk for oak milk instead, and this was also super delish! The boba here is very soft and tasty, even when we ordered our drinks at ~7pm so that's reassuring about the quality. Very tasty. I would definitely return for the drinks and the shrimp sandwich again! read more
We got to try milk bases drinks and fruit drinks. We got the popular Taro Sweet milk and Bala Matcha. I like how they use beet root to have a pink layer on top. Gladly, I did not taste any beet root flavor. The drink was a little bit over-sweet, I had to wait for it to water down. Fruit drinks were great and refreshing. The store is nice with some indoor seats and outdoors. The shelf of carton boxes did make the store feel less spacious though. The staff were friendly and offered fast service. Nice place to check out if you have a chance. read more

I recommend you try their unique specialty drinks and popcorn chicken over their other normal drinks you can get anywhere else. The matcha latte had a barely noticeable matcha taste and was mostly just sweet, dont rec if you're a hardcore matcha fan. The strawberry corn milk tastes just like corn cheese as a liquid form plus strawberry if you're into that. Always seem to be busy here but the staff is always friendly. You can also order online if you don't want to wait. Lots of people that order delivery, some come to study, mostly people come to just chill, there are some seats but it's not a big place. Parking can be full but most cars seem to come in and out quickly. read more

I really enjoyed what I tried! I really like guava drinks and matcha, so the Bala Matcha was perfect for me. I did 50% sugar and I felt like it had the right amount of sweetness. And I also really enjoyed the Honey Walnut Shrimp Burger. The fried shrimp patty had a very nice texture to it and I could see a lot of shrimp. Bala Matcha - 8/10 Honey Walnut Shrimp - 8.5/10 I definitely would like to come again to try the other foods in the future! read more

Excellent service! It's got Phil's fans love and prints all over. But not my cup of tea. I realized that I have aged my fondness of WFP. I am embarrassed to say but I prefer this version of matcha blueberry over boba guy's matcha strawberry shenanigan. But if you had read my past reviews on boba guys, they're my least favorite since it tasted too healthy. Idk, my palate is just too accustomed to the artificial boba sweetener. It doesn't help that the wait line was 40 minutes long for a cup of boba-less boba. But tbh, it wasn't my day to pick a drink since I didn't read the menu carefully. Of course I went there to try the original healthy boba thing that Phil boasted about all over the internet and yet I failed to pick a drink with boba topping. It was alright. I think I'd come back for the snacks tho. read more

Tried their lunch bento box for the first time and it was good! For around $12 or so, the portion size is great and the basil sauce matches well with their popcorn chicken. Definitely would recommend this item for lunch! Service was pretty was fast and the cashier was able to answer a few of my questions regarding food items. The food was pretty mid. Popcorn chicken was dry and not as tender as normal Taiwanese popcorn chicken. The strawberry corn milk didn't taste too good either. Been wanting to try this place since they opened as we are a huge fan on Wongfu LOL... So drove the extra distance when we were at Newport Coast to try the food and drinks. It's a tiny place in a strip mall. Not very many tables - and some of the folks (mostly girls) would just hang at the table and talk so it definitely was hard given we wanted to eat there to find a table and seat. Luckily someone left and we jammed ourselves onto the table! LOL SO first the drinks! We got their Strawberry Ginger Basil Lemonade, HEY Sesame and BA-LA Matcha. I have to say it was good, tasty, but not outstanding like where I would want to keep going back for them... BUT that's good for me since I can't easily go there! The star of their menu is definitely their Honey Walnut Shrimp Burgers! SO good - and MEATY - very filling and delicious... YES if I lived closer this would be my "go to" for SURE!!! What a awesome concept - and I loved the bits of candy walnuts - it was PERFECT! The mapo tots were good. novel idea. we actually wanted to order plain tots and were told they didn't sell that? Weird - given you're just sticking the mapo tofu on top of plain tots? So that was a bit sus for me... what's the upsell all about? I seriously just wanted plain tots to go with my honey walnut burger... hence the loss of one star... The other disappointment was the Heritage Lou Ro Rice - the flavors were nice but seriously it was SO MUCH rice and very little Lou Rou... And the pork were so tiny... I've definitely had better but am glad we at least tried it... They had a special - the pineapple toast crunch - now that was a winner. So glad we tried it.. Overall it was a mixed bag for me. I do think I may have expected so much and was a bit underwhelmed? BUT having said that - they are okay - good - decent... and they have a few items that are worth coming back for... Our cashier was nice and patient with us because it was our first visit so we took awhile to order as when looking through the menu (our apologies to the party waiting behind us!). My kid didn't like the lychee berry drink and the staff was accommodating by switching it out with the Summer Green Tea drink. The food was ok, I think the best was the Honey Walnut Shrimp burger. There is limited seating inside, but there are tables and benches outside. There is only one bathroom for all genders. Beware of the parking situation because the spaces are a bit tight and it's in the same plaza with Golden Deli, With Love and a few other restaurants. read more

We found our new favorite Boba tea drinks. Their drink are lactose-free and made with real fruit. I got taro milk tea which came with real taro. My wife got brown sugar pudding milk tea. We also got spicy chicken wing dark meat, Mopo tots classic, and taiwanese fried chicken sandwich. The food was so good and spicy. We are come back n try out the whole menu. The workers are super nice. There is limited seating inside and outside. Plenty of parking inside outside. read more
Came for A take out, so don't have much pictures to share. We tried the special drinks: strawberry corn juice: corn juice and strawberries are an interesting combination, first sip is strong corn juice and not much strawberry taste. Until very much to the bottom that I could taste a slim hint of strawberry. Also, I asked for no ice and it came with ice. 50% is still a tad too sweet for me, hard to imagine 100%. -3.5 star hey sesame: just black sesame in milk. 50% still seems too sweet for me. Not as special as I hoped and the black sesame are too heavy and all drop to the bottom. -3 star Ch'ChaiChata: just chai, not much horchata flavor. Ok but I'm not a chai fan, so could be biased. -2.5 star? Orange Wang: creamy orange flavor, hard to go wrong with this combination. Creamy enough to offset to acidity of orange juice. -3.5 star Mapo tots: when the mapo tofu sauce soaked into the potato tots, it's flavorful and rich. Best to eat it piping hot. - 4 star You can order ahead the night before and pick up the next day to save time. read more

I've been watching Phil lip-sync since his Senorita days. I've been to countless concerts hosted by them, meet and greets, and been a subscriber for over 15 years. Nonetheless, when I saw Phil at Bopomofo serving food/drinks, I still fangirled. Orange WANG! Citrus and vanilla, shaken and creamy. Like a Creamsicle! Topped with a slice of orange. Clever name after Phil. I really enjoyed it! It's not as sweet as other places. Strawberry Corn Milk Cold-pressed corn juice, layered with sweetened milk & topped off with house-made strawberry sorbet. We use local organic California strawberries from Watsonville. Super interesting concept! You taste both the strawberry and corn. I enjoyed it. Summer Blossom Green Tea A light and fruity green tea made with house-pressed juices from real lychees and Bartlett pears. Not my favorite, but maybe it's just too subtle for me. BA-LA Matcha Tropical & fruity. Made with pure guava nectar, layered with lactose-free milk & premium matcha. Favorite of them all! Think strawberry matcha but with a twist! Mapo Tots Hearty mapo tofu, ground pork, and cheese on top of fluffy tater tots. Our unique take on chili cheese! We fry our food in non-GMO, expeller pressed canola oil or rice bran oil. I was surprised how crispy these tater tots stayed through our transit home. I enjoyed them! Scallion Pancake Lu Rou Nachos Braised Compart Farms Heritage Pork belly, mustard greens salsa, melted cheeses, over scallion pancake chips. We fry our food in non-GMO, expeller pressed canola oil or rice bran oil. Another Taiwanese classic with a spin. I really enjoyed the food. Wished there was more braised pork belly. I love the ba-la matcha at bopomofo! It is a unique blend of fresh guava and matcha. If you want a refreshing drink this is for you. I didn't get boba in it cause I feel like it takes away from the flavors. Bopomofo has really unique drinks and I definitely want to go back to try the others as well as the snacks. It does get busy though so it would be good to order in advance for pick-up. But even though they were busy the service was top tier and the workers didn't have that stressed snappy attitude that comes with a busy environment. read more
Cashier was extremely friendly and kind! The menu is quite diverse with interesting fruit/matcha and fruit tea mixes. Oat milk sub is free! Ba-la matcha ($5.50 w oat milk; 25% sweet): fun twist on fruit/matcha combos! Even though I got 25% sweet, the guava purée compensated for the sweetness. I wish the matcha was slightly stronger, but can understand that guava is a sharper flavor that's hard to compete with. (7.8/10) Brown Sugar Pudding Milk Tea ($5.75; 75% sweet): definitely recommend getting this less sweet. The flavor is more like a sweet egg-condensed-milk. (7.5/10) Vineyard Green Tea ($6.25): intriguing combo of green grape and pear juice, flavors that were evenly mixed. I'd recommend 50-75% sweet. (7/10) Orange Wang! ($5.25): I surprisingly enjoyed this! Tasted like an orange creamsicle and wasn't overly sweet, the orange flavor was fresh! (7.2/10) Overall, been wanting to try this place as a fan of Phil. Drinks: taro sweet milk and Bala Matcha Both were good. Appreciate that you can adjust the sweetness and ice. Service: good. Ambiance: busy but good hang out spot to enjoy some treats and drinks. The inside was a lil messy and trash bins were full. But aside from that, it was still good. read more
My first time at Bopomofo Cafe and I am thoroughly impressed! They were packed on a weekend during lunch hours. What I recommend: Honey Walnut Shrimp Burger: Absolutely delicious. The different textures of the crispy walnuts, tender shrimp patty, and soft burger buns blended so well together. The burger was pricey though, at $16.42 tax included. Carrot Matcha: The matcha flavor was nice and not grainy. I would order their standard matcha latte next time! Not a fan of the carrot flavor, but my bf loves it and gives it a 10/10. Cool find: Subbing for oat milk is free of charge?!?? That is truly unheard of in this economy. read more

Of course we had to try Bofomofo cafe during our SoCal visit! Highly recommend ordering ahead through the app and picked up. We came on a Thursday afternoon so it wasn't too busy but still had to wait a bit for a table outside. We ordered the strawberry corn milk, and brown sugar pudding milk tea (would recommend both!). Food wise: highly recommend the honey walnut shrimp burger over the taiwanese fried chicken sandwich! The shrimp burger was very tasty and unique. The fried chicken sandwich was ok. Mapo tots was good but a bit too salty for me and would be a good appetizers to share with a group. read more
Their walnut shrimp burger is the best! You can't go wrong with their popcorn chicken either, the green sauce that comes with the non-spicy version is addictive and brings everything together. All their drinks are always good, my go-to is the mint matcha sipper. read more

Just like many others, Bopomofo has been on our bookmark list because of Phil and his Youtube channel. Once we booked our trip to LA, we knew that we had to make the drive out to go. After a long drive from LAX (due to traffic, of course) we finally arrived. The interior was clean and we were greeted by friendly staff who were patient with us as we browsed the menu. We decided both boba and food was a must. Guava matcha latte with boba: I was excited about this as I am a fan of strawberry matcha lattes and was curious how guava would taste. The guava flavor is sweet, tart, and a little more subtle than strawberry but still pairs nicely with the green tea. Great green tea flavor! Boba consistency was a little soft unfortunately. We tried the seasonal white grape and green tea and it was delicious! Crisp, fruity, and light. Wish it wasn't a seasonal offering! Again, boba consistency was soft. Shrimp burger - YUM. This is a must get. It is absolutely delicious. The staff cut it in half for us which made it easy to share. Fresh ingredients, delicious shrimp patty, just bursting with flavors that meld together. I wish I could have another one. Mapo tots - if you like tater tots and mapo tofu, this is the best of both worlds. I recommend eating it right away because that's when the tots are crispiest. Over time, they start to drown in the mapo tofu sauce and get soggy. Mapo tofu tasted normal (not bad, not outstanding) and same with the tater tots (just your standard, good ol' tots). I went out of my way to come here but it was so worth it. I love not only their creativity with their food and drinks but also how well they execute it. I will definitely be thinking of both the honey walnut shrimp burger and hoji-corn latte for ages to come. Specifically for the hoji-corn latte, hojicha is always super hit or miss for me but this hit the spot right on the nose. It wasn't super bitter or grassy tasting, wasn't super powdery, and wasn't super sweet (I did adjust sweetness down to 75%). The baristas were also really nice, and luckily the shop wasn't crowded when I came in (around 11:45am on a Sunday) so I got everything super fast. Can't wait to be back! read more

As part of my adventure in trying out as many boba shops as possible in So Cal, Bopomofo Cafe caught my attention... it being two blocks from where I was at the time LOL... just leaving Delicious Food Corner (DFC) on Las Tunas Blvd. When I first pulled up into the parking lot, I noticed some bright lights dandling at the front patio seating area of Bopomofo... this was in the evening of course. It was quite romantic actually. Cool place to bring a date (hint hint LOL)! Upon entry, you may want to take note of which door you should enter through. Left door is for pre-ordered items. Right door is for walk-in. The shop isn't that big, but it's decent. Outside is more quaint than the inside IMHO. Staff was friendly and helpful in providing recommendations upon request. Thank you staff! Selection of drinks are somewhat limited IMHO, but I understand why. They want to focus on their true craft and not just offer many options with no substance. Prices are decent... nothing overly priced. They also serve food snacks, too. I ended up getting the Jasmine Milk Tea with boba and pudding, Brown Sugar Pudding Milk Tea (had pudding replaced with boba free of charge), and Hey Sesame Milk. I normally ask for regular sweetness and no ice. For some reason, they had to put some ice in the sesame drink... go figure! As for the other drinks with no ice, it may be an inch less of drink... just letting you know. All the drinks were really tasty. I love that they use real ingredients for their drinks and not the fake stuff like powder. Thank you for staying true to your craft Bopomofo! I would return to try their other drink flavors and even venture on their food snacks now that I know they are only a couple blocks from DFC LOL. Happy Bopomofo'ing! P.S. 4.5/5! I've been coming for years but never have written a review. The strawberry sorbet corn milk drink is so unique that I can't help but get it every time I'm here. The corn flavor is distinct and blends well with the strawberry sorbet. If you like corn ice cream, this is a good option to try. The popcorn chicken is always crispy and light, no heavy batter. The aioli has changed over the years and is more smooth and blended now, bit still a delicious compliment to the popcorn chicken. This place is always busy because it is very tasty, and my favorite thing is one of their lighter options: the chicken tacos. It's comes with 3 of them so it's a small plate, but it always hits the spot without leaving me feeling overly full. The tater tots and chicken sandwich are also tasty but those are heavier. I can't believe it took until now to realize Bopomofo stands for the Chinese alphabet letters and it is seriously so clever! I got the pork belly rice and popcorn chicken this time, and was a little disappointed. It was still good, but the rice portion was way smaller (maybe half the size as before). And the meat pieces were mostly fat rather than meat. Flavor was still there. But the popcorn chicken also had a lot of meatless pieces sadly. read more
- Online ordering was super easy and accurate. - Their POS system wasn't working today so I'm glad I pre-ordered online. - Pick up was organized and efficient with utensils, straws, and napkins easily accessed. - Staff are friendly and have great customer service. - They are all wearing masks and gloves. Environment: - The cafe is clean and well lit with Wi-Fi available. - Modern aesthetic with pleasant soft music playing. - There are 4 tables of 4 plus 2 tables of 2 available with outlets at each table. - Even though Bopomofo starts to get filled up by the 2p, if you come early enough it isn't too hard to find parking in the lot. Food: - Vineyard green tea was delicious at 75% sweet and boba was adequately chewy. It comes with one cute green grape in the drink! - FYI their mustard greens has ginger. But it is great to cut the grease of the pork belly rice. I'm glad I tried their Heritage Braised Pork Belly because it was delicious. I wasn't expecting much since I have pretty high standards, but not only did it taste good, but their soft boiled egg was sooooo yummy! I think their amount of meat to rice ratio is good, too. Their rice is a little on the dry side, but I actually like it this way. Bopomofo is a really unique boba shop that also serves a lot of yummy food. I've only been here twice and I really enjoyed my order both of those times. The first time I ordered their strawberry corn milk drink and this time I got their vineyard green tea. The vineyard green tea has a very fruity and floral taste which makes it the perfect drink if you're craving something refreshing. The strawberry corn milk is really reminiscent of the kind of corn juice/milk that's popular in China with a hint of strawberry. I also ordered the mapo tofu tots which were soooo delicious. The tots were so crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The absolute PERFECT texture. It served as a great canvas for the mapo tofu which was perfectly seasoned and not too heavy. I was starving and absolutely devoured my food. Wanted boba for dessert after dinner. Walked about 2 blocks to get there. Worker friendly and explained the drinks. We haven't been here before , highly recommended by some young adults who love boba. Ordered 2 drinks. Ordered the Bala Matcha and the brown sugar pudding milk tea. First time trying this cafe! It was exceptional and worth the hype. Last time I tried going in the summer on a weekend and it was a mistake because the line was so long and went into the parking lot. The parking lot was crammed but it was a whole different experience going on a weekday when less people were there! My family enjoyed the shrimp and chicken burger and loved the flavors! It wasn't dry. I ordered the vegan popcorn chicken and am very curious what they use to make the food because it tastes like frozen vege protein (but fried and seasoned). It would've been good to order with tots, but I felt like tots for $12 were a little pricey along with the popcorn chicken ($11). FREE OATMILK THO. There website is always broken. You have to go there in person and order there. No work around.

They have their own wifi (BOPORESERVE) but I'm not sure if it's open to guests because it has a password.

no they don't have a phone number because of how busy it gets. terrible if u have to cancel an order, i had to drive all the way over there!
Are you no longer taking postmates orders? All of my orders in two days on separate occasions keep getting cancelled.
There's no way to order in person so I think that may be why your orders are being cancelled.
