My wife and I had date night at Cooks & Soldiers on a Friday night. We had reservations since it was a Friday and didn't know if they would be busy. They have valet parking in the building. We were seated promptly upon arrival. This was my first time going, my wife has been before. We ordered mocktails which were good and several tapas to split. The food was good and the ambiance was nice. The service was decent as well. I will say that I was not wowed by the food but it was still good.

We had dinner here with our parents to test it out as a rehearsal dinner spot and the staff was beyond helpful helping us decide what to order for both drink and food and were knowledgeable about the event menus. We sat on the enclosed patio area which is a gorgeous part of the restaurant with lots of natural lighting. They had the sommelier come over to help us with our choice of wine for both this evening and our upcoming event. She also helped us choose a menu for the evening that helped us decide what we wanted for our event. Everything was fantastic but the standouts were the pulpo, salmon, and peppers for the tapas. The fish was incredible for the asador section. Our dinner made us even more excited about hosting our rehearsal dinner here soon!

What a treat, there were 3 of us and we did the grand asador experience. The chef chooses the courses for you. Noting disappointed. The mountain bread, iberico, salmon, gambas, papas con paleta and the ribeye. Derrick was our server and he was great all night. All the choices were outstanding with flavor that built on the next. I will make special mention of the ribeye. Visually stunning and the flavor matched. We went with medium rare and the chef nailed it. Perfect sear with a salt and pepper crust while just slightly warm in the center. Very tender with wonderful flavors. Bring your appetite, we will full and got the cheesecake to go. Great service, great food. Lived up to the hype. Derrick

The food was pretty good. The beef cheek was my favorite. The drinks were good as well. My only issue was how LONG it took for the filete. We ordered the filet with our drinks, and it took 2 HOURS to receive it. It also caused our patatas beavers to take long as well, as the two came out together. We were running late for our next event, so I didn't get to try the basque cheesecake. Our server spilled some of my cocktail onto the table, but the rest of it tasted good. The ambiance is very nice, very clean

Let me just start by saying this was one of the best experiences. We came here with a group of 7 for our monthly ladies dinner and they did not miss. I started with the sangria which isn't listed but is an option. Our server and the staff that assisted her during our dinner service were all great. Everyone always came over with a smile and great attitude. We ordered the experience and that's exactly what we received! The branzino was EXCELLENT and that's grilled cheese I will talk about forever.

This was my first time at Cooks & Soldiers, and it's safe to say it won't be my last. It's already earned a spot on my favorites list! We kicked things off with the caviar y churros. Good, but not a must-repeat for me. The caña de cabra, however, is an absolute yes - refreshing and perfectly balanced. Next up were the gambas, and wow. Every bite was packed with flavor and impossible to put down. Not a single crumb was left behind. By the time the pulpo came out, we were definitely getting full... yet somehow managed to eat every last piece. For our entrée, we ordered the pollo basquaise with a side of local mushrooms - comforting, beautifully executed, and I can confidently say not one mushroom was left on my plate. Then came the Basque cheesecake, which deserves all of the hype. Hands down the star of the meal. Unbelievable. Just order it. From the food to the ambiance to the service, the entire experience was genuinely delightful and I can't wait to return!!

We love Cooks & Soldiers! Great place to go with friends and try a whole bunch of plates. I recommend anything with ibérico and don't skip the basque cheesecake! I do wish that they would course out the plates a little better. They come out whenever they're ready, and on multiple occasions, we've gotten our salad or vegetables way at the end of the meal.

Cooks & Soldiers was fantastic from start to finish. We were seated by the window in comfortable leather chairs and immediately felt right at home. Our waitress was warm, polite, and incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu and helping shape a great dining experience. We started with the Caviar y Churros, which were creamy and subtly sweet without overpowering the caviar. Next came the Caña de Cabra, an absolute explosion of flavor. My favorite dish by far was the Gambas, easily the star of the show. I seriously considered ordering a second round. For our main course, we had the Pollo Basquaise with a side of Hongos, featuring local wild smoked mushrooms. Everything was outstanding. The food, service, and ambiance were all top-notch. The meal was worth every penny, and the overall experience was worth even more. I will definitely be back. I almost forgot their Basque cheesecake is phenomenal. It alone is worth the trip. That is no exaggeration.

Impeccable! The service, food and ambiance were amazing! Erol our server is a star! He has great energy, he's personable, informative, and explained each dish with its historical and cultural significance. Erol recommended the 'Grand Asador Experience' (Chef's tasting. Refer to menu and photos), so we just went with that: -White anchovies and olives -String beans w chili and dehydrated figs -Grilled oysters -Mountain bread -Braised beef cheeks -Gambas -Pulpo -Potato puree -Grilled aged 16oz ribeye -Basque cheesecake Wow! Absolutely recommend the 'Grand Asador Experience.' Every dish was beautifully presented, and most importantly DELICIOUS! Cooks & Soldiers' ambiance is classy, modern, and the vibe chill and relaxed. I highly recommend Cooks & Soldiers. Thank you Chefs, and service team. Special thanks to Erol! Will definitely return when I'm back in ATL.

The food was good. On the paleta iberico the assortments were great with the meat and the PICKLED tomatoes and toasted almonds. The drinks were good. They changed the menu and got rid of all of our favorites like the mushroom toast and bone marrow. We weren't too happy about that. The service was great though. Our waiter Alfredo was very personable

New favorite tapas spot in Atlanta unlocked!!!! I made a reservation for my birthday on a Friday night which I highly recommend!! They have valet parking also which makes it super once you are there. We had a great table near the kitchen. Vibes in here are great, good lighting and can hear everyone at our table. Our waitress was SO NICE! She truly helped make the evening spectacular. I got the Sangria to drink which was delicious! And then came the tapas, and we truly got a great mix of everything! You obviously have to get the patatas bravas but the mountain bread was delicious and perfect for dipping in leftover sauces! The octopus was delicious and we enjoyed the bikini sandwiches and croquetas. For the main entrees, we got a bunch to share like bone marrow, the chicken, broccolini, eggplant, roasted carrots and the dry aged steak. The only thing I don't think we would order again was the bone marrow. It was good but left something to be desired in our opinions! The steak and roasted chicken were beyond tender and the vegetables were also great! We had a vegetarian with us and they were impressed with those dishes especially the eggplant. To top the meal off, because it was my birthday the waitress brought me a free glass of cava and a basque cheese and blood orange sorbet for the table. Truly made me feel so special and the dessert was delicious! This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta now and I will be back!!

Enjoyed my visit to Cooks & Soldiers while in town for a conference. Easy park with valet nearby. The service was attentive and truly appreciated. I love a dark lit restaurant so this place checked all my boxes. Food was out of this world. I love the small plates which are easily shareable but also enough for one. Platas Bravas were crispy deliciousness. Make sure to save room for desert - the Basque Cheesecake is brilliant

Freaking phenomenal! Highly recommend Cooks and Soldiers as an affordable upscale spot for foodies, birthday dinners, date night, etc. It's such a cozy, intimate vibe despite its size. Get the Grand Asador Experience. The food was perfect! I was so stuffed by the end of the night. You can't go wrong (unless you have dietary restrictions-let them know. Our service asked). Our server was so sweet and attentive. And most importantly, the drinks were strong and bomb!

It captures that wonderful Parisian brasserie feeling without trying too hard--the banquettes, heavy drapes, soft lighting, beautiful tableware and attentive service. Everything feels considered. And then there's the food. The menu is small, the prices are not, but they execute what they do exceptionally well. I was tucked into a beautiful banquette and taken care of by Keenan, who was lovely throughout dinner--warm, polished, knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. First things first: do not skip the bread service. The warm levain baguette arrives wrapped in Little Sparrow-branded paper with their gorgeous butter, EVOO and Maldon salt. It sounds simple. It isn't. That butter sitting in fragrant olive oil with those little pops of sea salt, smeared onto hot, crusty bread? Heaven. Sometimes the simplest things tell you everything you need to know about a kitchen. My usual order here is the chicken schnitzel, which I love, but I promised myself I would branch out. I ordered the Cabillaud Frites--cod with tartar sauce--and Little Sparrow's interpretation of fish and chips is anything but ordinary. The cod arrived as beautifully fried little rounds with a deeply golden, crisp exterior and tender, delicate fish inside. Hot, crunchy, moist, perfectly cooked. The house tartar sauce was delicious. And because apparently I needed more decadence, Keenan brought me garlic aioli for the frites. Yes, please. And those frites. Lordy. Crisp, deeply savory and dangerously easy to keep eating long after you've told yourself you're finished. Dip one into that garlic aioli and good luck stopping. I skipped cocktails this time because I was saving precious real estate for dessert. I usually order the chocolate soufflé, although I continue to wish they would rotate the soufflé flavors. Give me Grand Marnier! And at $22, that soufflé is definitely an investment in dessert theater. Instead, I took the coconut cake back to my hotel. Unfortunately, this was the one miss of the evening. It was overwhelmingly sweet and lacked the richness and complexity I expected from a kitchen operating at this level. It tasted surprisingly ordinary compared with everything that preceded it. I'd skip it next time and return to the soufflé. That small disappointment doesn't change how I feel about Little Sparrow. The dining room is beautiful. The service feels polished and gracious. Even the restrooms and little sitting area carry through the aesthetic. There is an attention to detail here that I appreciate--from the china and menus to the lighting and presentation. Little Sparrow isn't inexpensive, but I don't come here looking for inexpensive. I come because they take seemingly familiar French dishes, focus on technique and ingredients, and make them memorable. If you're anywhere near Atlanta's Westside or the Design District--or frankly, even if you're not--make the detour. Make a reservation, settle into a banquette, order the bread, and get some of that food in your face. Life is too short not to eat well. Get out there and find your next meal.

The mussels are always fresh, although their size can vary, sometimes they're large, and other times they're quite small. They used to allow parking in the back, but now it's valet or street parking only. The valet service is complimentary, you just tip the valet attendant, and they accept Venmo. My boyfriend enjoys their beer selection. I've had consistently good experiences with the food menu, but I find the mocktails to be just average. They tend to be more fizzy and soda-like than flavorful. I imagine their cocktails and wine are probably a better choice. They used to have complimentary bread. Now the bread is a menu item. The outdoor seating is very nice, although it can get a little hot during the summer. They have both ceiling fans and standing fans to help keep things comfortable. The only downside is the number of flies. We constantly had to wave them away from our food. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The only minor issue happened at the end of our meal. We ordered a large dessert and asked if they happened to have chocolate ice cream. The server said he would check with the kitchen. However, before coming back to confirm, he brought us the chocolate ice cream as if we had already ordered it. Since it was already served, we didn't feel comfortable sending it back, and ice cream isn't exactly something you can take home. We ended up eating it even though we were already very full. Aside from that small misunderstanding, we had a great experience. The food is consistently delicious, the service is friendly, and it's a restaurant I would definitely recommend.

However ... five of us made a reservation, for 5:30, our plan was to eat a celebratory birthday dinner ( two birthdays) then catch the sunset on the roof. We should've known there would be issues from the drink order: A vodka tonic order yielded a vodka soda even after she confirmed he wanted tonic, not soda. The other drinks came out at different times. We ordered bread and our salads and entrees. Then the server brought out a plate of deviled eggs " a gift from the chef!" How nice. They were good, we appreciated it. Our entrees were OK: Short ribs were rich and meaty, redfish was good but a bit overcooked and dried out, pork was OK, mussels were good, but the bread wasn't grillled and was slathered with almost inedibly salty garlic butter. The salads were meh. We had wine and water and asked for our checks so we could make sunset. She brought back one check for two couples and a single. We asked if she could split it. She came back a few minutes later, after we sent the birthday folks to the roof for sunset, she said we could "just throw a card down" for the combined check. We reminded her that we wanted to split the check. She completely forgot. Several minutes later, we go our checks. Those deviled eggs that were supposed to be a "a gift from the chef?" They were on one of the checks. Thanks so much for the gift. Anyway, we quickly paid and made it upstairs before the sun was below the horizon. The roof is awesome. But Tiny Lou's is a one and done. Not worth the price. Not special. Would rather just eat at home post-sunset.
