Ferdinand was a great server. He brought our food and drinks quickly and made sure we had everything we asked for. Great value for the food. We started with tortilla chips, salsa and guacamole. I ordered mole chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. Hubby ordered a chili rellano, enchilada (was supposed to be cheese but was chicken) and a crisp shredded beef taco with rice and beans. I haven been coming here for years! I can not believe I have not left a review of my absolute favorite Mexican spot! Charge it to my head and not my heart. When you have a good thing you tend to take them for granted. But I'm here to give flowers to the people when they are around and not when they leave...now on to the review. Like I said this place holds a special place in my heart because I have been coming since 2009 or so. When they first opened the place was so small your elbows were in the kitchen lol but nobody cared because the food was that good! Thank goodness they have expanded and now have a little more space. This was also my "first date" with my honey back in 2010 and I think that's why we are still together (because I know where all the good hole in the wall food spots are lol) it does not matter what you get from here it's going to be good like your own personal abuela was in there cooking it. The owners and staff are always very pleasant when I come in I feel like we are family. I've had the enchiladas, tacos, flautas, nachos, chimichangas you name it I might have tried it, but mostly we always get tacos! I always get the 3 tacos but never make it to eat all 3 so I have 1 for later (who can be mad at that?) I usually get 2 steak and 1 grilled chicken taco and it comes with rice and beans which are also good and flavorful. If you want some great Mexican this is the place! I've only been to about 4 wonderful Mexican restaurants- this one definitely made my list. It isn't super fancy, but what does that matter? This place is truly a hidden gem. We got there just in time because afterwards, it started to get packed. To start, we ordered the guacamole and chips (which is the basic measurement of Mexican food). It was awesome, although I wish the portion was a bit bigger. I got the Horchata as a drink like other reviews recommended and it did not disappoint. I ordered the enchiladas rancheras and they were also delicious. The rice and beans were also great as expected. This was the best dining experience my family had on vacation! It is a hole in the wall place on the end of a strip mall, with very few tables in a cramped location, but what a meal! In hindsight the close quarters and busyness added to the experience. We had fajitas, a burrito, and tacos... Everything was delicious and served piping hot. Sidenote: When we arrived the tables inside were full, so we put our name in and waited out on the sidewalk. I pulled out my wallet to buy some cold drinks during the wait, and the lady who I assume is the owner told us not to worry about it until we settled up after our meal. I loved this instant trust she put in my family, and we tipped more than normal because of it. If you are staying at Universal and want a nice authentic Mexican meal a little off the beaten path (but very close), then give this place a try! read more

Found this little gem near our hotel. I had the chicken soup to start which was yummy, but had a lot of rice; next time I'll ask for no rice in mine. The fish tacos were good, but not great. They needed a sauce and the fish was too soft/flaky; it needed more texture. I wouldn't order those again. But those Mexico City style tacos?! WINNER. We had the steak, chicken & pastor and I can't pick a favorite because they were all amazing!!!! I'm getting hungry just thinking about them, yummmmm. They ran out of the watermelon drink right before we got there so I was disappointed that I couldn't try it, but the tamarind drink that I had was excellent! I've been searching for a good Californian burrito that could compare to the one I had in San Diego , California for years. Well I finally found it! The juiciness, the steaks flavor, the pico, guac queso and sour cream blend. It was the answer the the burrito equation that has plagued my tender soul for years now. One of the best and most authentic Mexican restaurants I've ever been to! I ordered a mix of grilled chicken and steak fajita and a watermelon agua frescas.The meat was seasoned well and came out hot, the chips and salsa/guac were really great and tasted so so fresh. The service was super fast (got our order in a couple minutes and brought our food out in less than 10) and the servers were super friendly (a waiter even ran us down outside afterwards because my cousin forgot his bag). I also enjoyed the home-like atmosphere, because it was small and felt like it held a lot of years underneath its belt. The only "con" was that parking was pretty hard to find in the plaza so we had to park behind the restaurant, even though a sign said they towed there. Overall: 9/10. Excellent, authentic Mexican food! The interior is nothing fancy, but has a nice, laid back, family vibe. There are no cocktails on the menu, but they have bottled beers. I got horchata to drink and it was delicious! I will say I wish I had gotten my horchata after my food (or drank it after) because it was pretty filling for me. We had chips and salsa and guacamole to start which was delicious. I wasn't super hungry so I got the vegetable nachos to eat and they were AWESOME. This might be the best Mexican spot in Orlando. My first time here I had takeout and it was A1. I wanted to note that because some places take out isn't as good as dining in. Here it's the same. The next time, I dined In and the woman bringing out the food needs her props because she was working HARD and super fast. I had the California burrito both times, first time chicken and second time steak- both great. I also had the chicken soup the first time and it was delicious but let me tell you...the tortilla soup was the best I've ever had. Between the family we've tried the flautas, Mexican street cart tacos, the beef soup, the chicken soup, and the Green Burrito. Everything was excellent and we started the meals with chips and salsa and guacamole. The guacamole is to die for! We also asked for the trio of sauces for the table and all I could say is watch out for the yellowish green one because it is SPICY HOT!! The main difference is, at dinner time they have table service where at lunch you have to order at the counter then they'll bring your food to you. Inside seating is limited, but we came right at 5PM and found a spot no problem. We each ordered a Green Burrito - one with grilled chicken and one with Carnitas. The green sauce was great and I loved the deep fried tortilla that almost tasted like a gordita. Couldn't figure out if they dropped the whole thing in the fryer or not but it really added to the flavor. The grilled chicken was good but I didn't care for the Carnitas. Sure they were moist, but very gamey/ high intensity plain pork flavor. Personally I like Carnitas that have been simmered in sauce or better seasoned than the ones I had here. Dinner for the family was only $30 and they have Mexican Coke. Parking here is painful (the lot is small) and you can easily get blocked in - we almost were. A Korean food truck had pulled in and set up tables blocking one entire exit and some moron parallel parked right behind us. read more

Child #1 had steak fajitas, child #2 shredded beef flautas and hubby had enchiladas verde (carnitas). Everyone loved their food except -#2. He has new braces and we didn't understand how hard it would be to chew shredded beef...... after getting two bites stuck in his braces he called it quits. My dad randomly found this place while we were visiting Orlando. Walking in, I wasn't too impressed with the decor or set up but the service and food ended up being unbelievable. Our waitress was amazingly accommodating and very sweet. We started with chips with salsa, queso, and guacamole and I literally inhaled it because it was that good. I got chicken tacos with rice and beans, my dad got fajitas, and my mom and brother both got enchiladas. We all cleaned our plates and still got dessert. It was some sort of tortilla with ice cream and some other toppings, I don't remember too well but we finished it in a matter of minutes. I honestly haven't had a bad meal here. Whether you get the tacos, enchiladas, taco salad you can't go wrong. I usually get the Dos Tacos with grilled chicken. The chicken is so well seasoned that I usually ask for just a side of grilled chicken. Most entrees come with a side of rice and beans which are very good. Also skip the soda and try one of their natural juices! My favorite is watermelon. I usually spend about $11 to $13 when I go which isn't bad for the portions you get. It's located a few minutes off highway 4, off the beaten path, and away from the tourist congested Disney attractions. The carnita was dry and didn't have any flavor, however, the chicken tacos tasted very flavorful and seems like they cooked it with a lot of spices. She said the rice and beans were good but nothing extraordinary or impressive. - My daughter ordered the Little Amigos one crispy taco with rice and beans ($3.99). I ended up eating it since she had some chips and cheese earlier. The taco was great, especially with the table hot sauce they offer. My three tacos was amazing! Full of flavors! My rice and beans was good too! I would have loved sour-cream to cut a bit of the grease. Don't worry, I stole some from my companions!
