    Blood Orange Paloma
    Yvette S.

I went to Bosscat Kitchen & Libations years ago, and I think some of the menu items have changed since then. I still love the decor, there are a lot of unique and interesting items throughout the restaurant. I decided to have a cocktail with dinner since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. I ordered the Blood Orange Paloma and my husband had a tequila soda. Given the libations name, I expected the cocktails would be especially delicious and creative, but I was disappointed in both the taste and presentation. My drink tasted more like a regular paloma, and I didn't pick up a blood orange taste. It was topped with a fresh lime, and I think the grapefruit soda overpowered the drink. They also had two tequila blanco options: lalo and espolon. Our favorite item for the night was the burger smashies appetizer. They are three mini smash burgers, with pickles on the side, and they provide mustard and ketchup when you ask. I had the spicy rigatoni and my husband ordered the pan seared salmon. I thought my pasta was good and I liked the ricotta. My husband liked his salmon and he said the greens on the side were delicious. The charred lemon also gave the salmon a nice flavor. Service felt a little mixed during our visit. There were a couple of moments where the waitress came across as a bit sarcastic, though I'm not totally sure if I was reading it right. I think she may have overheard me mention to my husband that I didn't love my drink. When she came to check on it, I said it was fine. I don't really send drinks back, especially if that is how they make their blood orange paloma. I don't like wasting it or expecting something different. After that, the interaction felt a little off. At the end of the meal, it also took a while to get our check. She cleared our plates and it was probably about 15 minutes before she came back to take our card.

The service was just spectacular, the staff was amazing. We got the chance to meet the owner, came to our table to check and was so welcoming. The food was just fantastic, had the pork belle appetizer which was amazing with a kimchi slaw. For the main course tried the fried chicken sandwich, with french fries. Now let me tell you about these thick cut double fried goodness. They are the best fries ever. Absolutely fantastic. For the desert we tried the fried apple pie. It's like a churro meats a warm apple pie topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Amazing!!! The ambiance is just perfect, the restaurant has inside and patio sitting. The decor is so unique and feel like you take a step back in time with a modern twist

Bosscat is a must try spot when visiting the Orange Circle. The service was amazing and the menu is so well rounded, there's definitely something for everyone. For the appetizer we got the maple butter brussels sprouts. They were a tad bit sweet for me still really great. We got a variety of mains to share: coastal white fish, pan seared salmon, 12 hour beef short rib, and bosscat burger. Each dish was spot on but salmon and short rib were the for sure stand outs for me. The salmon was perfectly cooked and crispy on the outside. The short rib was melt in your mouth perfection.

Came here for my friend's baby shower and it was a perfect spot for both dining and hosting events. We had a private setup on the front patio with unlimited buffet-style food and drinks, and the service was excellent. The staff stayed on top of everything, keeping the food replenished and making sure we were good on drinks. Everything was fresh and served hot, and the cocktails on the menu were all delicious. The fries were perfectly crispy, the sliders were flavorful, the salad was refreshing, and the chilaquiles surprisingly stayed crispy and full of flavor and shredded meat. It's located in downtown Orange and luckily we found street metered parking right in front. Will come here again to dine!

I had finished my last chemo at UCI and wanted to meet up with family that had driven and flown for dinner. Loved the restaurant location and the open atmosphere. Menu was a little limited, but I was very very pleased with the tenderness of my short ribs. So delicious everyone was pretty happy with their meal choices. In addition to the pictures. There was a chicken salad, a burger...but everyone also agreed that the short ribs were the best. We also ordered I forgot what it was called, but it was a purple cheesecake ($17) to go. It was pretty good too, although I think too expensive.

GOLD MEDAL CHICKEN SANDWICH with salad
    Sunday B.

First time here and was a solid choice. They seem to specialize in burgers..but I got the gold medal chicken sandwich with a side salad. The sandwich was a tad salty so I removed some of the bacon. All the ingredients were fresh. Service was good. Dining area is big and open with high ceilings. Has a gastropub vibe... Parking was easy peasy. Plenty of parking in the free public lot about 2 blocks away. Also street parking if you are lucky.

I've walked by this restaurant numerous times when in Old Town Orange, but since it was a little later than usual, I thought I'd catch brunch this morning. They offer both indoor and covered, somewhat outdoor seating. There are tables and cushioned bench seating, but it's a little crowded. They have great booth seating on the right hand side, but that's set aside for parties of six. I didn't even ask. The atmosphere is casual. The menu is divided into food on one side and drinks on the other. There were couples and groups, including children, enjoying Sunday brunch. I could hear Sabrina Carpenter and Smash Mouth playing on the overhead speakers. I ordered a mimosa from the classic $5 cocktail menu. It was good and strong. For my main meal, I ordered the short rib chilaquiles, which comes with a side of sour cream. I added an egg for $1.99. It was delicious. The meat was shredded and mixed in with the tortilla chips. My egg was over medium as requested. I finished the entire thing. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Parking: Free, street parking.

Maple Butter Brussel Sprouts and Chicken + Cheese Dip

Had a great first visit to Bosscat Kitchen and Libations. Came on a Thursday night around 8 p.m. and my friend and I were seated almost immediately, which was a perfect start. The ambiance was perfect with low lighting, a great crowd, and an overall pleasant vibe. Our server was very sweet and helpful. When she learned it was our first time, she shared some favorites across entrees and shareables. Everything sounded so good that we decided to go with a few shareables instead. The spicy chicken and cheese dip was salty, rich and flavorful. The pig candy was one of my favorites, and the maple butter Brussels sprouts were incredible and perfectly sweet. We paired everything with white wine and had an excellent experience from start to finish. Looking forward to coming back to explore more of the menu!

    Steak and eggs plate

Came here for brunch twice recently and they have changed their brunch menu from before. For one the options to select from seem smaller than before. Bummed they took away the fruity pebble French toast and the steak sandwich off the brunch menu. First time we went since the change I got the steak and eggs plate (which was really good) bc it was either that or the basic breakfast plate since nothing else really called to me. My partner got the breakfast sandwich which he said was okay. Second time we went since the change I again got the delicious steak plate and my partner got the breakfast burrito which he did not care for and stated there was more egg than anything else in there. We will say that the cinnamon roll that's croissant based was ridiculously good and probably our favorite dish we've had recently.

Ahi lettuce wraps. Doesn't look like much, but oh my yum!
    Ana N.

My. Goodness. I am going to be dreaming of the ahi lettuce wraps for the foreseeable future. The mezcal was good, the food was good, the service was amazing. The music is loud, but not unbearable. Definitely recommend this establishment for anyone in Orange.

Once again Bosscat did it again! I came to Bosscat again after the amazing food and experience I had last time. Let's start with the service. We had an amazing server, I couldn't remember her name, but she was super sweet, attentive, and quick to offer recommendations on menu items including appetizers, entrees, and drinks. Let's move onto the drink. Our server recommended the pineapple sage elixir described as espolón blanco tequila, pineapple, sage, citrus. She shared that this drink tasted like a dole whip. When it came out, it was the perfect balance of bold, sweet, but flavorful. This drink was on the sweeter side, but you could also taste the tequila. And onto food! For an appetizer we ordered the male butter Brussels which were roasted brussel sprouts, crisped, tossed with a maple sauce, candied pecans and blue cheese. And all I have to say is WOW. The flavors in this dish were remarkable. For our entree we went with the same as last time, the short ribs as they did not disappoint. The short ribs once again were tender enough to cut with a fork. The sauce in top was a peppercorn sauce which was a nice addition of flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were also amazing! Finally, the environment. This time was different as we brought a dog. The perk of Bosscat kitchen and libations is that they are pet friendly on the patio. The patio wasn't crowded and we were far enough away from other tables so we didn't feel crowded. I can't wait to come back for another great experience! I will add, since we came closer to the holidays the restaurant wasn't as busy and had plenty of parking on a weeknight.

    Maritza S.

FYI they close between lunch and dinner from 2:30pm until 3pm. After 3pm that you can order happy hour and the full menu. The service is always great, and the drinks and food are consistent. The maple Brussel sprouts with blue cheese were scrumptious.

    Gaby N.

We came in as a group of nine and had already started ordering drinks when one of the staff members addressed my brother in a really rude way. Instead of just letting him know politely that he was being loud, she spoke to him in a way that felt unnecessary and disrespectful. Honestly, it made the whole group feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I get that it can get busy, but when you work in a place like this, there's an expectation to handle situations with a little more patience and professionalism especially with a large group of customers. The interaction just wasn't handled well at all and it definitely impacted our experience.

    Is there gluten free options?

    Yes

Is it loud inside where one has to talk loud to b heard?

They do have music playing, but we had a side booth and everyone could hear each other pretty well.

    Do they serve Easter brunch?

    I don't know

Is there live music Saturday nights? And what kind of music? Is it loud?

I don't recall music there. This is the one in Orange. There is also one in Irvine.

Is the dinner menu available at lunchtime during the week?

    Check the website.

Is there still a mandatory 20% gratuity on each Check?

No. That was for street fair only. 20% will still be added to parties of 6 or more but that is all

So, you close at 230 on Saturday and reopen at 330?

Yes. We take an hour in between brunch and dinner to reset our kitchen due to having such high volume nights

    Are dogs allowed?

Yes. They have an outside patio, where you can take your dogs.

Does anyone know the Spotify playlist they play here?

The brunch playlist is flashback remix 2020 😊😊

    Are kids allowed?

Hello. Kids are always allowed. We do have some kid friendly options on our dinner and brunch menus.

I believe they do on Sundays.

Do you have patio seating? I have made a 12 noon reservation for lunch and would like to sit on the patio so I can bring my puppy. Thank you?…

We do have patio seating. Unfortunately I do have a table that seats 12 guests. We have to split the group up on multiple table to accommodate. But dogs are welcome.

What are the days and hours for Happy Hour? Can we make a reservation?

3pm-6pm. Yes you can but so far it hang been too busy.

First timer to this location, do they have Sunday brunch?

Yes we do. 10am to 2:30pm. Same offering as our Newport location.

How is the parking? Is there a designated lot? Main reason I steer away from the circle in Orange establishments which is unfortunate since there are so many good ones.

Hi! So we parked at the structure and walk to Bosscat. It wasn't a far walk. Parking wasn't an issue for us. It was on a week day around 2:00pm.

Will this location take part in the industry night like your Irvine location?

Not to start off. Industry night is going to be revisited and changed in both locations. As of now either location does not do industry night. We should have a new offering available by this summer

When are you opening in Orange?

Hello, we will opening to the public March 30th @3pm. We will start taking reservations on March 29th. We Will be opening for regular business hours on April 1st from 11 am to 11pm.

Made a conscious effort to drive to Santa Ana to dine at Le Hut Dinette, based on good reviews…read more Our timing was wrong, resulting in a limited American breakfast that was decent but pricey; not distinct or delicious enough to justify the long drive. Le Hut Dinette has a informative website which I tried to plan to, but it gave outdated information and is not being maintained: it gives incorrect open hours tied to brunch, lunch, and dinner. The hours on Yelp and Google are correct: 8am - 3 pm daily. Also the advice for parking is true: need to find street parking and at 8 am, it wasn't particularly easy, especially with the road construction happening. What we later learned from our server (because it is not listed on the menu or website) is that the only things served between 8 - 10 are things titled 'Breakfast Things' on the normal and daily special menu. The other items are served after 10 am till close. And the dinner menu listed on the website (which contained the items that I really wanted to try (arroz caldo, chicken inasal, beef rib)) are no longer offered at all. So we chose from the limited breakfast menu (since it was the only choice). French Toast ($13) - the key word in the menu description is custard. Later looking up custard french toast, learnt that the inside is supposed to taste like bread pudding or creme brule filling, so it matched. The large one piece tasted good, but after two bites, couldn't eat anymore: just too rich for any of us. Bacon and Egg Sandwich ($21). It was well prepared, but wasn't to my wife's taste, with thick slices of chewy (almost pork belly like) bacon, and tart green tomatoes. I ended up eating most of it, and it was OK: really good ingredients prepared well, but just not something I would normally order. Came with tallowed fried potatoes, basically boiled mini potatoes, smashed and fried in tallow on a grill. These were top notch. Pitmaster Slam ($37) - two thick slices of smoked brisket, two eggs, and the same great tallowed fried potatoes. The brisket is top quality carefully smoked, and would have been great if served after preparation, but tasted exactly what it was: reheated from the previous day fast, instead of very slowly which would have remelted all the beef butter nicely through the meat. It did come with some amazing toast: toasted blue corn sourdough from the next door 61 Hundred bakery. Service was OK but slow, friendly as I asked more questions after our meal, just to try to make myself feel a bit better for coming all the way out here. The dishes took a while to be prepared (30+ minute), so after a while, my wife and Mom went to the bakery next door to get bread while we waited. Like a diner, only drip coffee was offered (though a bargain at $1). No hot tea, only iced tea ($3). The dishes were all served together immediately, hot, which I appreciated. Nothing was done incorrectly, but nothing really stood out either (except for the two food items mentioned). It's a confusing dichotomy...looking at the website, it appears as a fine dining establishment, taking reservations through OpenTable ; requesting a credit card to hold the reservation; prices on the higher side; items no longer available because they are considered 'seasonal'. But the food, dining area, service is definitely that of a LA diner (though the speed of food prep wasn't).

Pulling into the parking lot, I knew this was a very well loved restaurant because the lot was packed ~ and it's a pretty good sized lot! Walking up to the door, it's pretty obvious, in a good way, that it's an establishment that's been around for a while. With bustling deli and pastry cases near the entrance, Benjie's instantly gives off a Cheers vibe, even for this first timer. There's a counter to sit at if you're dining solo, or if you've got more people in your party there are plenty of traditional booths and tables. The menu is extensive with all of the traditional deli/diner favorites. In order to try more, we decided to split everything. We ordered Reuben Fritters as a starter, a Pastrami sandwich on a French roll, and cheese blintzes for dessert. The Reuben Fritters were a nice take on the sandwich with a mixture of tender corned beef and the perfect amount of cheeses and sauerkraut rolled in bread crumbs and fried to perfection. The pastrami sandwich was piled high with meat and served with a side of onion rings. We were already getting full at this point, but we couldn't resist the cheese blintzes that were patiently waiting for us to give them a try. I swear I don't live under a rock, but I've never had blintzes before and these were VERY good! We went with the traditional preparation, although I read someone's review that said these could also be requested fried. Definitely worth a try next time. I'm imagining pure decadence! Our server was friendly and kept on top of keeping our beverages filled and checking to see if we needed anything. We left filled with excellent comfort food and an overall great experience. Looking forward to trying some more things on the menu soon!

I wanted to share some comprehensive feedback regarding a recent experience, aiming to highlight both your successes and areas where further refinement could elevate the customer journey even further. First and foremost, I must commend your team for their exceptional warmth and hospitality. From my initial phone call to the moment I picked up my order, I felt genuinely welcomed and valued. This level of customer service, which often feels lacking in many establishments today, truly sets American Grub apart. It creates a welcoming atmosphere that significantly enhances the overall experience, and I sincerely hope this commitment to friendliness remains a cornerstone of your operation. However, I encountered a couple of points that, in my personal opinion, warrant consideration for improvement. Regarding the payment process, I felt a degree of apprehension about providing my credit card details over the phone. While I understand the operational need to secure orders and prevent potential losses, particularly for larger transactions, for a single item like my bacon cheeseburger, priced at $17.24 including tax, this practice felt somewhat disproportionate. I also noted the 99-cent fee for online payments, which, while minor, might deter some customers who are seeking convenience without additional charges. Perhaps exploring alternative secure payment links for phone orders or adjusting the fee structure for smaller transactions could enhance customer comfort and streamline the process. My primary concern, however, arose upon returning home. Despite ordering a bacon cheeseburger, I discovered the burger completely lacked bacon, as well as any form of sauce or mayonnaise. This oversight had a significant impact on the meal; the absence of these core components rendered the burger quite bland and far from the experience I had anticipated. When ordering a single item, the expectation for meticulous attention to detail is particularly high, as there are fewer variables. Consequently, the overall value of the meal, given the missing ingredients, was not quite met on this occasion. I did reach out to the owner privately via email to discuss these points, and I appreciate their responsiveness and transparency in addressing my feedback, particularly concerning the rationale behind the phone payment policy. It is reassuring to know that your business is open to customer input. My hope is that these observations can serve as constructive input, allowing American Grub to continue refining its excellent service and product quality. I remain a supporter of your local endeavor and look forward to seeing these aspects addressed. Thank you for reaching out. To clarify, all my reviews and communications are crafted solely from my personal experiences and genuine perspectives, not AI. Every word and insight you read is authentically mine, driven by my commitment to provide honest feedback. Even though the review was long..(lol) I wanted to make sure the details are accurate and understandable. Plus I think you and your establishment are great and I wanted to detail that as well Kimberly.

OMFG this place is good. We are big Thai food fans but this was our first time at Manaao. You have…read moreto get on the waitlist on Yelp because there is always a wait. Once seated, you'll notice the menu if full of items that you rarely see here in the USA but we have had in Bangkok. We ordered 4 items for 4 people even though in Thailand you always eat family style. I selected the first 3 and asked the waiter to select the 4th based on my first 3 choices. That was a good idea. I chose Kao Soi Noodles, Dry Boat Noodles, and Crab Fried Rice based on Yelp reviews. My server, Veerawan, chose Fried Fish Fillet in Spicy Herb Salad. The Kao Soi Noodles came with several pieces of perfectly fried crabs and a bundle of crispy noodles. Underneath that was a delicious yellow curry on soft noodles. The fried bits were not greasy and the coating well seasoned. The yellow curry noodles were so delicious and rich that I couldn't put my chopsticks down. The Crab Fried Rice should be mandatory. Instead of a stir fry of rice and eggs with some surimi, at Manaao the entire cap of the fried rice mound is covered with lump crab meat. At first I thought $24 was expensive, now I think it's a steal. Look at my picture! The flavor was spot on too, the rice was chewy, the crab flavor throughout but you also get mouthfuls of crab without the hassle of shells. It comes with a lime wedge but also this spicy, tangy lime sauce that just sends the dish to the moon. The name of the restaurant is lime in Thai so they are supporting their brand with this sauce. Bottle this stuff! The Dry Boat Noodle was our least favorite but not because it wasn't tasty. The ingredients were braised beef and morning glory and meatballs. Because we messed with the recipe and ordered it dry (I didn't want two soups) the meatballs were cold-to-room-temp and flavorless. The noodles were some kind of special noodle too, that required the soup to separate. This dish should not be ordered dry. It's an easy fix since we all splashed some of the broth they knowingly brought on the side to wake it up. The broth is rich and should not be missed, so don't skip on this dish just because it was my third out of four dishes. The Fried Fish Fillet in Spicy Herb Salad was the unexpected plot twist. This scored very high in all the major Thai flavor categories of spicy, sweet, salty and sour. You get the benefit of lots of snake head fish without the chore of avoiding bones. The coating on the fried fish pieces were coated in the delicious sauce. Since it's technically a salad underneath and the fish is mixed with all those fresh herbs and large cashews, you get a dish that is one-of-a-kind. I would order this again in a heartbeat. I wrote too much already so I'm not going to say anything about the service and ambience except they both get 5 of 5 stars. Perfect, perfect, perfect.

Unfortunately, it appears that they have changed their business model. Just like the last time, I arrived well before closing. Just like last time, the lights were on. Just like last time, the "Open" sign was lit Just like last time, the front door was - LITERALLY - wide open. Just like last time, the same woman behind the counter informed me they were closed. Closed? I'm not sure what the sign, the lights, and the open door are for, but they do not appear to be indicators that the establishment is open for business. Points for ambiance, I suppose. So, I guess I'll update my review to: DON'T BOTHER.

Finding a parking spot during rush hour will be difficult. Ambiance/Environment: They have a large space with lots of indoor seating and some outdoor seating. The inside is incredibly dark. Since my cousin brought her dog, we dined outside. They had a few umbrellas, but since the sun was setting, it didn't do much. It was very busy, so the wait time to dine inside was over 30 min. Since we opted to dine outside, we were luckily seated immediately. Service: I didn't catch his name, but thank you to the host who seated us immediately. He was really nice. Shout out to our server Elise for being quick and attentive. She checked on us a few times and refilled our waters. Throughput took under 20 min after ordering. Food & drinks: I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken and Dad's Mai Tai. The entree included baked & fried chicken thighs, drenched with hot honey Nashville sauce, and served with mac & cheese, green beans, and a biscuit on the side. The sauce was sweet and had a slight spicy kick to it. It made the chicken even more delicious. The mac & cheese was creamy, and the green beans were seasoned well. The biscuit was dry, and the butter didn't really help. I like sweet cocktails, but the Dad's Mai Tai was too sweet for me. The maybe extra shots of rum would've been sufficient. Pricing: I really enjoyed their dinner! Highly recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken entree! Prices are more than you'd expect, but it's not surprising in this economy.
