    Chilaquiles

Bosscat is absolutely DELICIOUS. Their brunch menu is all under $20 (totally unheard of no-a-days). Their Beignets are incredible, and I am now a huge fan of chilaquiles. Not pictured but also worth it: the blueberry brunch item & the cinnamon roll. Owners and staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and gave plenty of recommendations. Perfect place to celebrate, chat with your loved ones, and enjoy a delicious brunch. Lots of seating (indoor and outdoor). I am looking forward to coming back and trying the non-brunch as well ... after I have the brunch 4 more times!

Haven't been here in a while. Carme here with the team for a birthday. Staff is really friendly and attentive. See 34a came by to check constantly and the food came out pretty quick. Very large portions. Unfortunately the menu change again and it's limited. Not sure if the menu is more extensive at night. The highlight was the artichoke spring rolls. Otherwise we were all disappointed with our choices, well except for the birthday boy who enjoyed his burger and chips. As a matter of fact, he had dinner here the night before and had the burger as well. The staff even brought out a little birthday treat, it was actually tasty.

I went to Bosscat Kitchen & Libations years ago, and I think some of the menu items have changed since then. I still love the decor, there are a lot of unique and interesting items throughout the restaurant. I decided to have a cocktail with dinner since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. I ordered the Blood Orange Paloma and my husband had a tequila soda. Given the libations name, I expected the cocktails would be especially delicious and creative, but I was disappointed in both the taste and presentation. My drink tasted more like a regular paloma, and I didn't pick up a blood orange taste. It was topped with a fresh lime, and I think the grapefruit soda overpowered the drink. They also had two tequila blanco options: lalo and espolon. Our favorite item for the night was the burger smashies appetizer. They are three mini smash burgers, with pickles on the side, and they provide mustard and ketchup when you ask. I had the spicy rigatoni and my husband ordered the pan seared salmon. I thought my pasta was good and I liked the ricotta. My husband liked his salmon and he said the greens on the side were delicious. The charred lemon also gave the salmon a nice flavor. Service felt a little mixed during our visit. There were a couple of moments where the waitress came across as a bit sarcastic, though I'm not totally sure if I was reading it right. I think she may have overheard me mention to my husband that I didn't love my drink. When she came to check on it, I said it was fine. I don't really send drinks back, especially if that is how they make their blood orange paloma. I don't like wasting it or expecting something different. After that, the interaction felt a little off. At the end of the meal, it also took a while to get our check. She cleared our plates and it was probably about 15 minutes before she came back to take our card.

Bosscat is a must try spot when visiting the Orange Circle. The service was amazing and the menu is so well rounded, there's definitely something for everyone. For the appetizer we got the maple butter brussels sprouts. They were a tad bit sweet for me still really great. We got a variety of mains to share: coastal white fish, pan seared salmon, 12 hour beef short rib, and bosscat burger. Each dish was spot on but salmon and short rib were the for sure stand outs for me. The salmon was perfectly cooked and crispy on the outside. The short rib was melt in your mouth perfection.

Great location, decor and ambiance. Went for a private event so the food was served buffet-style. Everything was really good, especially the Brussels sprouts which were easily some of the best I've had. And the craft cocktails were spot on. Overall, a great experience with excellent food, cocktails, and service. Looking forward to coming back to try their brunch and whiskey room.

The service was just spectacular, the staff was amazing. We got the chance to meet the owner, came to our table to check and was so welcoming. The food was just fantastic, had the pork belle appetizer which was amazing with a kimchi slaw. For the main course tried the fried chicken sandwich, with french fries. Now let me tell you about these thick cut double fried goodness. They are the best fries ever. Absolutely fantastic. For the desert we tried the fried apple pie. It's like a churro meats a warm apple pie topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Amazing!!! The ambiance is just perfect, the restaurant has inside and patio sitting. The decor is so unique and feel like you take a step back in time with a modern twist

Came here for my friend's baby shower and it was a perfect spot for both dining and hosting events. We had a private setup on the front patio with unlimited buffet-style food and drinks, and the service was excellent. The staff stayed on top of everything, keeping the food replenished and making sure we were good on drinks. Everything was fresh and served hot, and the cocktails on the menu were all delicious. The fries were perfectly crispy, the sliders were flavorful, the salad was refreshing, and the chilaquiles surprisingly stayed crispy and full of flavor and shredded meat. It's located in downtown Orange and luckily we found street metered parking right in front. Will come here again to dine!

    The Ham-azing Croissant

We stopped by for Brunch. The restaurant was not busy so we were seated quickly. Our waiter was very nice. I love the decor in here. They were also playing the Champions League Finals on the TVs which was good. I assume they'll play the World Cup games too. We ordered the Gravy Train and the Ham-azing Croissant. Just a warning, the Ham-azing Croissant is HUGE! This is a definitely a dish meant for sharing. They asked if we wanted them to pour the sauce over the croissant or leave it on the side to dip in. We decided to leave it on the side to be dipped. This croissant sandwich was very dense and filling and the cheese sauce was very rich. I been on the hunt to find the best biscuits and gravy in OC. The ones here were ok. I liked the idea of getting these with fried chicken but unfortunately the fried chicken was quite dry and stringy. The biscuits themselves were buttery and the gravy sauce was very savory and had onion chunks. But the dry chicken made the entire dish very hard to eat. Overall this was a decent brunch, mostly since we spent under $40 for so much food so it was a decent deal.

I had finished my last chemo at UCI and wanted to meet up with family that had driven and flown for dinner. Loved the restaurant location and the open atmosphere. Menu was a little limited, but I was very very pleased with the tenderness of my short ribs. So delicious everyone was pretty happy with their meal choices. In addition to the pictures. There was a chicken salad, a burger...but everyone also agreed that the short ribs were the best. We also ordered I forgot what it was called, but it was a purple cheesecake ($17) to go. It was pretty good too, although I think too expensive.

GOLD MEDAL CHICKEN SANDWICH with salad
    Sunday B.

First time here and was a solid choice. They seem to specialize in burgers..but I got the gold medal chicken sandwich with a side salad. The sandwich was a tad salty so I removed some of the bacon. All the ingredients were fresh. Service was good. Dining area is big and open with high ceilings. Has a gastropub vibe... Parking was easy peasy. Plenty of parking in the free public lot about 2 blocks away. Also street parking if you are lucky.

I've walked by this restaurant numerous times when in Old Town Orange, but since it was a little later than usual, I thought I'd catch brunch this morning. They offer both indoor and covered, somewhat outdoor seating. There are tables and cushioned bench seating, but it's a little crowded. They have great booth seating on the right hand side, but that's set aside for parties of six. I didn't even ask. The atmosphere is casual. The menu is divided into food on one side and drinks on the other. There were couples and groups, including children, enjoying Sunday brunch. I could hear Sabrina Carpenter and Smash Mouth playing on the overhead speakers. I ordered a mimosa from the classic $5 cocktail menu. It was good and strong. For my main meal, I ordered the short rib chilaquiles, which comes with a side of sour cream. I added an egg for $1.99. It was delicious. The meat was shredded and mixed in with the tortilla chips. My egg was over medium as requested. I finished the entire thing. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Parking: Free, street parking.

Maple Butter Brussel Sprouts and Chicken + Cheese Dip

Had a great first visit to Bosscat Kitchen and Libations. Came on a Thursday night around 8 p.m. and my friend and I were seated almost immediately, which was a perfect start. The ambiance was perfect with low lighting, a great crowd, and an overall pleasant vibe. Our server was very sweet and helpful. When she learned it was our first time, she shared some favorites across entrees and shareables. Everything sounded so good that we decided to go with a few shareables instead. The spicy chicken and cheese dip was salty, rich and flavorful. The pig candy was one of my favorites, and the maple butter Brussels sprouts were incredible and perfectly sweet. We paired everything with white wine and had an excellent experience from start to finish. Looking forward to coming back to explore more of the menu!

    12 HOUR BEEF SHORT RIB

Once again Bosscat did it again! I came to Bosscat again after the amazing food and experience I had last time. Let's start with the service. We had an amazing server, I couldn't remember her name, but she was super sweet, attentive, and quick to offer recommendations on menu items including appetizers, entrees, and drinks. Let's move onto the drink. Our server recommended the pineapple sage elixir described as espolón blanco tequila, pineapple, sage, citrus. She shared that this drink tasted like a dole whip. When it came out, it was the perfect balance of bold, sweet, but flavorful. This drink was on the sweeter side, but you could also taste the tequila. And onto food! For an appetizer we ordered the male butter Brussels which were roasted brussel sprouts, crisped, tossed with a maple sauce, candied pecans and blue cheese. And all I have to say is WOW. The flavors in this dish were remarkable. For our entree we went with the same as last time, the short ribs as they did not disappoint. The short ribs once again were tender enough to cut with a fork. The sauce in top was a peppercorn sauce which was a nice addition of flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were also amazing! Finally, the environment. This time was different as we brought a dog. The perk of Bosscat kitchen and libations is that they are pet friendly on the patio. The patio wasn't crowded and we were far enough away from other tables so we didn't feel crowded. I can't wait to come back for another great experience! I will add, since we came closer to the holidays the restaurant wasn't as busy and had plenty of parking on a weeknight.

    Yes

Is it loud inside where one has to talk loud to b heard?

They do have music playing, but we had a side booth and everyone could hear each other pretty well.

    Do they serve Easter brunch?

    I don't know

Is there live music Saturday nights? And what kind of music? Is it loud?

I don't recall music there. This is the one in Orange. There is also one in Irvine.

Is the dinner menu available at lunchtime during the week?

    Check the website.

No. That was for street fair only. 20% will still be added to parties of 6 or more but that is all

So, you close at 230 on Saturday and reopen at 330?

Yes. We take an hour in between brunch and dinner to reset our kitchen due to having such high volume nights

    Are dogs allowed?

Yes. They have an outside patio, where you can take your dogs.

Does anyone know the Spotify playlist they play here?

The brunch playlist is flashback remix 2020 😊😊

3pm-6pm. Yes you can but so far it hang been too busy.

How is the parking? Is there a designated lot? Main reason I steer away from the circle in Orange establishments which is unfortunate since there are so many good ones.

Hi! So we parked at the structure and walk to Bosscat. It wasn't a far walk. Parking wasn't an issue for us. It was on a week day around 2:00pm.

Will this location take part in the industry night like your Irvine location?

Not to start off. Industry night is going to be revisited and changed in both locations. As of now either location does not do industry night. We should have a new offering available by this summer

Hello, we will opening to the public March 30th @3pm. We will start taking reservations on March 29th. We Will be opening for regular business hours on April 1st from 11 am to 11pm.

Justyn was incredibly helpful in organizing everything beforehand and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. We had a party of 30 people, which can easily get chaotic, but everything went perfectly. Originally we planned to sit on the patio, and they had it ready for us. Because of the unexpected winds, they also prepared an indoor space just in case--and thankfully they did, because the wind ended up being too strong. The transition inside was seamless and we didn't have to worry about a thing. The staff during the event were amazing. Alison made sure there was never an empty glass during bottomless, the food came out quickly and smoothly even with such a large group, and the overall atmosphere was incredible. The food itself was great American brunch classics, and for bottomless they brought multiple juice options and had the table set up with bottles, juices, and water evenly distributed so everything felt organized and easy. What I appreciated most was that I never once had to worry about my guests. I was able to actually enjoy my birthday brunch instead of managing things, which meant a lot. After brunch our party continued into the afternoon with pool and drinks, and that transition was just as smooth. The vibes were so good that honestly none of us wanted to leave. They were also kind enough to keep our cake in the fridge and even brought it out with the candles lit for us, which was such a thoughtful touch. Absolutely no complaints. If I could host every brunch event here for the rest of my life, I would. Truly 10/10 for the staff, the location, the atmosphere, and the overall experience.

They even even have a pool table and a photo booth for five dollars. They also offer different events on different nights, so the place always feels new and exciting! Also, their bottomless mimosa deal is SO worth it. If you purchase an entrée, you could get bottomless mimosa for a deal. Chef Carlos is also incredible- honestly I'm not the biggest taco/nacho fan but these were fire. Parking is always easy since they're nearby structure is around a two minute walk. The place also stays open until 2AM even on Weekdays!! Its hard to find that, especially in Irvine. And with Friendsgiving coming up, this is great place to bring your group and hangout. This place is spacious and doesn't feel crowded like other bars. Huge shoutout again to Justyn, Steven, and Chef Carlos for making the visit great. Will be back soon!

This fat pastry was the best beignet I've ever had, so pillowy soft! Come here for a great meal surrounded by a cool, train-themed atmosphere.

He made us feel welcomed as it was our first time coming here. By we I mean my self and three friends as well. He took our orders mentally. That was impressive! And got every order correct. He knew his menu items. I ordered a hot coffee (refills available) and the garden omelette. Instead of their bakery it's chi ie of beignets or a muffin, I opted for sourdough toast. Delicious! I took some leftovers home. For what I paid for it, I think it was reasonably priced. We did come for breakfast. Around this time it's not overly packed and we came on memorial weekend. As we headed out close to noon, lunch hour is where people will begin to pour in. We saw trains pass by periodically but it wasn't bothersome. I can't wait to come back.

Service was extremely friendly and attentive. Food and drinks were great. My table got the mojito and a few other speciality drinks everyone enjoyed. The appetizers were great and I look forward to trying some of their dishes. Totally worth a visit if you're in the area. Another positive....the bathrooms were clean and didn't smell like piss

Stowaway just rolled out five new drinks for summer with a summer camp theme. This enticed us to…read morecome back and try the new drinks after our last few visits were subpar. You can make reservations on Yelp, and there is also a Yelp live wait list. We visited during happy hour (Tuesday thru Friday from 4pm to 6pm) to take advantage of their food specials. We had the coconut shrimp ($12, but $7 during happy hour) which are always good. We also had some fries ($7, but $5 during happy hour). They were good and a generous portion. She wanted to try the vegan (cauliflower) salt & vinegar wings ($14, but $9 during happy hour). They were breaded and fried well, but had very little flavor. There was just a light sprinkle of a salt & vinegar seasoning. More salt and a dash of malt vinegar on them, or a side of malt vinegar would have made them a lot better. The happy hour food was a good value and got something in our stomachs. My first cocktail was the Wilderness Badge (Tequila, Lemongrass, Basil, Bergamot, Lemon, $17). This was by far my favorite. I love Italicus liqueur and this drink had great bergamot flavor up front with a light basil flavor from the basil infused tequila. It was very balanced and I would have never guessed this was a tequila based cocktail. She started out with the Sasquatch Sighting (Jamacian Overproof Rum, Cynar, Mango, Molasses, Lime, $17). This was balanced, with a light bitterness and light sweetness with mango flavor. Next, I tried The Lost Camper (Demerara Rum, Thai Green Tea, Pineapple, Coconut, Lime, $16). It was a pineapple bomb with a hint of coconut. I didn't like it at all and actually sent it back. I did think the skeleton arm and hand swizzle stick was cool. It is served with the hand at the bottom, but I took the picture with it sticking out. Instead, I had the Black Sands from the regular cocktail menu (Bali Hai Pineapple Rum, Diplomatica Reserve Rum, Pineapple, Orange, Guava, Lime, Coco, charcoal, $18). It is served with a flaming lime and sugar cube. I've had this several times and love it. It has a great funky complex flavor. Next, she had the Naked & Afraid (Mezcal, Campari, Smoked Pineapple, Serrano, Passionfruit, Lemon, $17). This was really good with a great complex mix of smoke and bitterness with a little heat. She gulped it down, and I was lucky to get a few sips. We decided to share the last new cocktail, the Scouts Honor (Vokda, Peach, Mandarin, Orgeat, Lime, $16) so we could say we tried them all. It looks nice with a bright orange color, but it was very sweet and peach forward with a hint of orange. Our server Crystal was great, very friendly and provided great service. We started collecting mugs recently, and we bought the Belly of the Beast Monstro mug ($62) to take home. BOTB is their Pinocchio themed speakeasy in the back (separate reservation required). They also have several other Stowaway branded mugs available. This visit was definitely better than our last few. As far as the five new Summer Camp cocktails, two were excellent, one was good, one was ok, and one was not good. The food was good, and is a great value during happy hour.
