Dessert menu we were too full to try!!!

I've had tapas in Spain. I've had tapas at Firefly in Vegas. Hell, I've had tapas in a LOT of places. I felt like I was back in Barcelona as we devoured our amazing selection of tapas. Setas à la naranja was different than any tapa was very ever had and truly spectacular. The blend of flavors so tart, sweet, and earthy were great. Patatas bravas were cubed perfectly and had a nice crispy outer shell and potato that melted in your mouth on the inside. The sauces were perfect for those little puffs of potato. Spanish meatballs were a mix of beef and pork with San Simone cheese and a tomato sauce my mom couldn't have made. Bacon-wrapped dates weee the perfect combination of sweet and salty, with the bacon perfectly cooked and the date soft and sweet. And finally the garlic prawns were served in a piping hot cast iron dish still bubbling in garlic butter. And the toast was thin and so exactingly toasted that it didn't even get soggy after scooping heaps of garlic butter on top. The service was impeccable with great recommendations and prompt delivery of dishes as we ordered a couple at a time. Can't wait to come back!!!

We stayed at the hotel and had breakfast here. You can pay the bill or have it added to your room. Service was quick and friendly. All the food was very good especially the chicken sausage which is a sentence I never thought I'd utter.

My boyfriend started this unspoken rule/tradition of going to a different restaurant once a month, this is what this month's was (even though he's been here multiple times before, and I've only been one time prior - it was OUR first time there, together). Bota. Hidden spot on busy-ass Geary, but perfectly in the middle of walkable spots as well. Let's get into it. We had a reservation for Sunday 3pm, walked in, and the place was closer to empty at the moment. Bless the server that didn't see us right away for 20 seconds, but made up for it by beaming with the energy and checking on us the whole time we were there. Now, the reason yall are here: the food (and drink!) Sangria. Hot damn, get the red sangria, Fresh fruits, the sweetness but that BANG of wine + how easy it was to drink? I told my boyfriend even though the pitcher sounded like a great idea (+ we did uber), we stuck to one glass each. I would highly recommend doing a pitcher especially if there's more than 2 people. At $15 a glass, it was well worth regardless. Patatas Bravas: in short, fancy potato with sriracha and mayo sauce with seasoning, but remarkable at the same time. I almost wanted to order a second one, but we ordered about half the menu already, that was the only thing that stopped us. As more people came in, I noticed every single table had at least this (great taste). Fresh Oysters: need I say more? Came with pickled onion, horseradish, lemon, and cocktail sauce. I'd call them tiny but mighty, very fresh! Secreto Iberico: cherry tomatoes, fried garlic slices, fingerling potatoes, and black pork. I will say, this was a first for the both of us and it was delicious. I was just also a super fan of the amount of garlic on this, tender pieces and great flavor! Piquillo Pepper: now this? blew us away. I was already curious about it so we just ordered it on the fly, but man. PLEASE get this. The flavor, the fact that it wasn't spicy (the color made us nervous not gonna lie), everything about it. we were fighting for the last piece - let me paint the picture: I was fighting a man over a VEGETABLE. Garlic Prawns: I mean, do you SEE the garlic? that oil that everything was cooking in? I wanted to bottle it up so bad. The prawns itself were HUGE, and the bread it came with? I spread all the garlic confit goodness on it. Paella Montañera: last, and certainly not least. the main attraction. I made the mistake of getting the meat one instead of the seafood one, but the paella itself was delicious. My boyfriend and I are big eaters so we did not leave any leftovers (or take any home), but it really is a lot of food, too. All in all, definitely get more than just the paella, the place is known for tapas and the sangria too :) we'll be back soon! Also, the server gave us the hotel discount which was a great lil perk we didn't think would happen.

Squid ink paella! Wow so tasty everyone at our table loved this dish. How can this be so good? Highlights: -oxtail -squid -squid ink PAELLA The chocolate balls dessert was so fudgy and rich, just wonderful.

Planned a Friendsmas and decided to head downtown to check out BOTA. BOTA is a tapas and paella bar with a spacious vibe and a menu packed with great options. We kicked things off with pear confit, a charcuterie board, patatas bravas, Brussels sprouts, grilled octopus, and grilled eggplant that totally reminded me of a tartare. Then came the oxtail and, of course, the seafood paella. Verdict? Uber delicious. Definitely not your average tapas spot. The amazing service and even better company made the whole experience unforgettable. Check out my photos.

Bota Tapas and Paella Bar is a really good Spanish restaurant located near Union Square. They have an extensive menu of various Tapas plates you can share. Here's what our party of 3 had: Jamon de Bellota (aged Iberico ham), *Brussels Sprouts, *Bacon wrapped dates, *Garlic prawns (really delicious in a garlic sherry sauce to dip bread in), * Spanish Meatballs made of beef & ham with cheese, Escalavida which is an eggplant, onion, pine nuts etc. mixed all together. Then we shared the "Regular" size seafood paella which was perfect for 3 people if you are also having tapas. They made the rice just right, crispy. Dessert - we shared the San Sebastián cheesecake, I think I would try one of the other desserts next time Wine - good list of Spanish wines, I had a glass of albararino, excellent. Restaurant is nicely decorated and service is good -- will definitely be back.

The service was great thanks to Keith's friendly and attentive nature. Food was excellent, sangria on point and seafood paella was amazing! Ambiance was very welcoming and chill. Will definitely return when we are back in town.

Came here for Father's Day and it was pretty good. We got quite a few tapas and then two of their paellas. The tapas we got were the meatballs, mussels, chicken cannelloni, and oysters. The paellas were the seafood one and the squid ink. Dessert was the Creme Catalan as well as the churros. All four of the tapas were perfect. I do wish the oysters were bigger though. There were plenty of mussels otherwise and the chicken cannelloni was really good too. The meatballs were amazing and with the extra sauce, it was easy to use bread to soak it up. The restaurant overall was a bit quiet since we came during lunch, but it was perfect for my parents. Our server was also extremely attentive and got everything we ordered in a timely manner. Overall, definitely would come back if I had a craving for Spanish food in SF.

Stopped in for dinner before a show. Definitely not a spot for cocktails, but they had a good wine list. All of the food was very flavorful and we enjoyed it a lot! We decided to stick with tapas instead of paella, and it was more than enough food. Highly recommend the octopus and shishitos. We also had the patatas bravas and the steamed mussels. Our server was attentive, and answered questions. This spot is in a hotel, but doesn't give that vibe. The only odd thing is the bathroom is downstairs in the hotel.

Excellent service, delicious food, and a short wait. This was my first time here and I didn't know where the restrooms were, so they helped me walk them there.

Very good! We love Spanish food and wine, so we were looking forward to trying this restaurant almost directly across from the Curran Theater. We made reservations but almost had the place to ourselves at 2:30 in the afternoon after a Saturday matinee. The restaurant is in a lovely space attached to the lobby of the hotel next door, and although it was quiet during our visit, I'm pretty sure it's bustling during normal meal hours. We weren't quite hungry enough to taste all we would have liked, but enjoyed some tapas recommended by our kind waiter -- Secreto Ibérico, Oxtail, and Grilled Prawns -- along with grilled bread and a delicious bottle of Tempranillo. Note -- if you plan to have 2 glasses each, it's worth it to get a bottle here. The prawns were very slightly dry, but the meats were outstanding. Overall the food was rich and succulent, accentuated with lots of Spanish olive oil and garlic. We'd definitely return and I'd love to try more dishes next time. Delicioso!

Dio was an exceptional manager and provided the most enchanting night for my and some good friends. The paella and ambiance were exceptional, can't recommend enough. Keith always made sure we had a great night.

I tried once on a Friday night and my friends and I ended up dining at the bar side instead. The cocktails were fantastic but what really stood out was the service. One of our friends has celiac disease and cannot have any cross-contamination with gluten. The staff was exceptionally accommodating and knowledgeable. Huge shout out to EVERY server - we were definitely impressed that they knew the menu up and down, inside and out and could confidently answer all of our questions without having to check with the kitchen. That level of knowledge gave us, especially our gluten-free friend, so much peace of mind. For food, we ordered the deviled eggs, beet salad, grilled octopus, potatoes, pork shoulder and squid ink paella. Every dish was flavorful and nicely plated. We ended the meal with two desserts: the bread pudding (not gluten-free) and the crema catalana. Both were the perfect sweet ending to a wonderful dinner. We definitely left full and enjoyed taking a walk along the Embarcadero afterward to burn off a little bit of those calories :) Between the beautiful waterfront setting, excellent food, attentive service and exceptional accommodation for dietary restrictions, Coqueta is definitely a restaurant I'll be returning to and would highly recommend!

Not sure how long it has been up, but hopefully they reopen soon because this place is great! Now, despite having bookmarked them a while back, I have to admit it took news of The Spanish Table's longtime Berkeley location closing a few months ago to finally motivate me to check them out. However, that's on me, as I had heard nothing but great things from friends who had been here before. As soon as you step inside, you're immediately met by a whole slew of products from Spain - racks of bottles of wine, kitchen staples like dry goods, rice, canned seafood, and spices, a table with samples of olive oil, fridges chock full of cured meats and cheeses, shelves of earthenware, cookbooks, and even paella pans in a whole range of sizes. As awesome as their retail/market selection may be, though, the food counter here is what really caught my eye. Whether it be one of their hot paninis or cold Bocadillos, everything sounded so good (they also have a mix of coffees and teas). Yet, after reading through all of their options, THE PIG & FIG panini sounded too good to pass up. Filled with Jamon Serrano, Campo de Montalban Cheese, Orange-Fig Jam, and Arugula, this was terrific! The jam and jamon made for a sweet and salty pair, the cheese was delicious, there was a fair amount of meat and arugula, and the bread was soft and lightly toasted. That being said, presumably because the ingredients are imported from Spain, the overall portion felt a little light for how much it costs (~$15) when compared to your usual sort of large deli sandwiches. Given how the challenges and obstacles that forced them to close their Berkeley location (and their Mill Valley outpost earlier this year) are likely present here as well, it wouldn't be surprising if this temporary closure becomes permanent. Unsurprising, but certainly no less unfortunate. Here's to hoping that doesn't end up being the case, though, because I'd love to come back again! FOUR AND A HALF STARS rounded down.

While everything was good, nothing stood out or was super memorable, and we were definitely still pretty hungry afterward. We ordered one beet and chorizo flatbread, which was pretty disappointing since it was cold, and the flatbread felt like it could be storebought and put together at home - we actually didn't end up finishing it. The mushroom skewers were a bit more unique and we enjoyed the pickled minced veggie topping that it came with, and the mushrooms had a good texture. After adding on the flat bread and skewers to the $45 Happy Hour deal, our bill came out to about $120 for two, and we weren't too full - since the food didn't really standout I can't say that I'd recommend coming here.

She was super attentive and made the dinner special. Thank you Mindy! And thank you Lolinda for the complimentary glasses of Champagne, so nice and unexpected. Note if you wish to try the happy hour it is limited to seating in the bar area which was fine with us. We started with (from Happy Hour menu) Cocktails 1 Bees Knees and 4 Penicillin (I had 3 and wife had 1) Suffice it to say we liked the drinks. Beef tartare and toasted bread, beef was luscious! Empanadas beef and chicken were hecka good. we wanted to bring some home but they don't allow take away from happy hour menu Mushroom empanada yep this was good too Dipping sauces were excellent Dinner Asada Mixto. Meats, peppers, potatoes, bread and chimichuri sauce. Excellent combination of flavors and textures. The grilled peppers and potatoes were soft with nice charred flavor. Two types of sausages with crisp casing and great flavor fillings. Could have used a bit more meat but the flavors were great. Outstanding bread served with this dish and with beef tartar Rescoldo, Eggplant, pepper and onion, Served room temp spread over toast Dessert Burnt Basque cheesecake with poached peaches. To die for!!! Beautiful interior warm and rustic. Open kitchen in the back but you can't see them easily from the tables. There's a long bar height table centered in the bar area for large groups. With several bar height tables along the wall and normal tables and booths in the main dining area. For the most part there is street parking but good luck finding a space. We took Uber so that we could have some drinks.
