I love a good dive bar, with cool people, and fun atmosphere. People are always OVERLY drunk here. For some reason THE MOST OBNOXIOUS/AGGRESSIVE men frequent this place. The bartenders are hit or miss; sometimes you have a girl who is hot and isn't a very good bartender, or you have a beastly looking broad (84% of the time) who has semi-decent bartending skills. I have had fun times here, when I have gone there with a group of ten or more, so you know you are protected and safe from the urchins that hang out here. Cloud 9 has WAY WAY WAY hotter ladies and they are WAY better at their jobs. The karaoke is okay, but is ALWAYS too loud. When it isn't packed wall to wall, it can be a better time, because you aren't scared for your life, and the bartenders will act like they have an ounce of customer service skills. I have been coming here for over 3 years and still going strong! We come here every Friday after work and every single time is a great time! The bartenders are awesome and friendly and are half the fun. I started as one and now I have a wolf pack of about 7 that come with me every Friday lol. My friend who has tons of bars to go to around her in Long Beach, chooses to come meet me every week because she loves it so much too! Owners are hilarious and awesome, definitely appreciate their customers and that's a huge plus for me. The first time we snuck out of work like the alcoholics we are to grab a few drinks, we ended up stumbling back to work right before it was time to go home. I went last night and had a great time. The music was primarily hip hop which I loved. The audience was very diverse. The waitress was extremely nice and very beautiful. Poor service. I was here for about 15 minutes on a Saturday and never got service. The place was about half full and didn't look too busy. I stood at the bar while the rest of my party was at a table. Neither one of us was able to get service. The 2 female bar tenders were hanging out flirting with guys. I had the rare chance of having a Saturday night off, so my friend and I were searching yelp to find somewhere new or at least somewhere we've never been. We decided to give this place a try. It was not that inviting from the outside, so there was a bit of reluctance. We walked to the entrance where a large bouncer was sitting, typical of most bars on a Saturday night. What was not typical though, was the bouncer himself. Before saying anything at all, he stuck his hand out in front of me. Which kind of threw me off because most bouncers are only interested in my ID. But I quickly realized he just wanted to shake my hand. I don't know why, for some reason that made a huge impression. We walked in and the place was dimly lit, but not to the point you have trouble seeing. Nice little U shaped bar with only female bartenders. They have a nice pour on their Cognac, since I only drink liquor with my pinky out, I was delighted. I apologize for not remembering the bartenders name who took care of us but she was the only Asian one. She was a sweetheart and even took a picture of me and my friends when it was busy in the bar.
