We had Joey as a server, and recommended a very good bourbon (Henry McKenna 10year) which I usually stick with angels envy, as well as the short rib dinner, which was beyond exceptional. It was my birthday, and my mom had recommended that we go to bourbon and bubbles, to take advantage of the bourbon flights discount. We ended up getting cocktails instead. It happened to be happy hour, we were so excited about that. However, the hostess were not so exciting or welcoming. We were excited for our server, Hunter. He was kind, sweet, accommodating, and definitely deserves five stars. Especially considering he was training another person, and he also took care of us. He brought me two glasses of champagne to celebrate my birthday, which made me feel really special. Not impressed. Came for restaurant week and the menu was very sub par. I was charged an extra $15 on top of the base menu price for a steak that was overcooked and doused in a mushroom sauce, and pretty small. Service was slow, we were seated 45 min after our reservation time, then we were sat in the middle of a walkway by the door as it's cold outside and opening/closing nonstop. From the design of the logo, I though this would be a more refined venue. Inside, the lights were all too low, the seats were too deep & awkward, and the staff were all wearing the same uniforms of tight black "dresses" (I hesitate to call them that since they only barely covered their bums). The drink that I ordered was unbalanced and was a struggle to sip. The cherry garnish tasted good, but the whole place was a bit too clubby for me, and the price wasn't justified. read more

Visiting town and was looking for a cocktail bar. Cute place, nice whiskey list. I sat at the bar, ordered an old fashioned. The orange had the sticker on it so I assume it wasn't washed. I'm allergic to pesticides but sure, it won't kill me. Then the bartender kept licking his fingers and not washing his hands. He was handling honey and putting mixers into bottles and every time he got something on his finger he would lick it off. I saw him do this at least 4 times and then continue to touch things in the bar or someone's drink. Opted not to drink anything else there and went to a diff bar for the next round. read more

Went here for New Year's Eve and was charged double what my closing check was (both signed). Called several times and the "manager wasn't in to review the charge." Never returned my call after taking down my info multiple times over the last week. Frequented B&B before this but after the lack of help on what was an obvious error to double charge someone on what was already a $230 bill I will not be returning. What a classy place this is. From the velvet and gold decor to the thoughtfully designed bar, this place reeks of class. We came here for NYE with a party of 5 and when 2 more showed up, the waitress was happy to accommodate all 7 of us squishing together. Happy hour drinks are a great deal. We ended up drinking the 75 drink (8$!) the entire night. Happy hour also has buy one get one free with appetizers so make sure you get two that are roughly the same prices so you don't get a much cheaper one free. We got the King Crab Dip, Poke tower, risotto balls, and chicken wings. The risotto balls came with a wonderful lemon aioli that was up there with my favorites. After several rounds of group appetizers, we ordered several mains to round off the night. I'd highly recommend the Steak Skillet and the Brisket Burger out of the dishes we ordered. I highly recommend coming here - make a reservation if you have a large group or it's on a holiday. read more

We went here on a Thursday night for dinner. The first clue that there may be a problem is that they require a deposit with your reservation. That is usually not a sign of a respectable establishment, but rather one that has financial problems. We were seated in a bar-type area. There were six of us and they put together three small cafe-type tables. Not horrible, but not ideal either. The placement of the tables was directly under a large AC vent that poured cold air on the table throughout the meal. We were all very cold and uncomfortable because of this. I understand they need to keep the AC going to cool the entire place, but the proper thing to do would be to put a diffuser on the AC register so that the air was not blowing directly on the tables. We ordered drinks and a bottle of champagne. They got some of the drink order wrong. The champagne was put into a wine cooler with ice on the bottom. It was basically useless to keep the champagne chilled. At first I thought they just did not have champagne buckets, but when we later ordered wine they did bring a champagne bucket for the wine. It was at this point we began to realize that our servers were completely inexperienced and lacked any kind of minimal training. We ordered our meals and twenty minutes later they started to come out, which I think was a reasonable time. However, two people ordered the same thing (Farmer's Plate) and as they were bringing out the other entrees they were told that their order could not be completed and would they like to order something else. Now I understand that sometime the kitchen runs out of things, but to wait unit the other guests are being served to inform someone that they can't complete their order is a clear service failure. When they brought out the white wine, it was warmer than room temperature. We informed the manager, and to his credit, he did comp the next bottle of wine. They should have never served warm wine in the first place. Again, a service failure. My overall assessment of this place is that it is more or a bar for singles looking to hook up than a restaurant. There are much better dining choices in Charlestown. read more

5 STAR SERVICE REVIEW!!! Recently I paid a visit to Bourbon n Bubbles, an establishment in Charleston I've been meaning to try after watching a lot of Bravo and living in the city for some time. First off I would rate the service 15/10. Our server was Spencer. He went out of his way to do right by my group as it was a busy night and he has several tables to take care of other than ours and appeared to be the only sever in sight. I felt like he knew how competitive/difficult it is to get in to dine certain places as a local and he treated us more than right! If your in the area pay this guy a visit he was awesome! We enjoyed the cocktails and front room ambiance a lot. Aside from drinks, food was incredibly mediocre for Charleston. 5/10 Not much detail to give, there is just soooo much phenomenal food in the city to compare to this. It's unfortunate that a place with such a reputation cant compete with the culinary arts embodied in a lot of other restaurants in town. The website describes B&B as a luxury restaurant and bar but the service was pretty terrible. We were seated by a hostess but the server kept walking by us helping the tables surrounding us until I finally asked if he could help us or if we should order from the bar - we've never been there before so I wasn't sure. I visited Bourbon n Bubbles for the first time a couple of weeks ago to celebrate my friend's birthday. My friends and I were looking for a really nice, trendy spot with a fun vibe in the city similar to an STK. This restaurant definitely didn't disappoint as far as that goes. While the ambiance and decor of the restaurant was nice, the food fell a little flat. I ordered the BNB sushi which had an overall great presentation but was just "okay". My friend ordered the Bourbon Steak Skillet, which she enjoyed but stated that it wasn't very warm. However, we all really enjoyed the rainbow birthday cake that they brought out along with sparklers for my friend. Plus the DJ was great! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Despite being a little disappointed by the food, I definitely plan to check this place out again the next time I am in Charleston. read more

We had 5 people and were sat at two round tables, it was super awkward trying to eat. Bottom line, they have a fabulous bourbon selection and their cocktails are fantastic! I am a Charleston native, and came home from the military last year, so I'm only just recently hearing of Bourbon N' Bubbles. My twin brother and I needed last minute birthday ideas, and I'm glad we decided on this place. I was initially skeptic about a Gullah take on Risotto, but I was beyond pleasantly surprised. All Of the apps were delicious, but the Calabash Shrimp was definitely the star of the show. Also it's just overall a good atmosphere. If you're looking for an evening away from the college bar scene, this is the place. So - the.venue is good. Service is friendly but lacking in sincerity. But - menu choice is limited. Very limited. Tables are insanely small - just OK for two. We know our wines - and the cheap stuff - example 'Whitehaven' - get it from a supermarket - here by the glass glass - insanely overpriced. Tempura shrimp - had better lighter batter on British fish and chips! Seriously!!! Scallops - well prepared but on the Entree had - literally - 1 tiny floret of cauliflower and and 8 edamame beans.
