I made a reservation for my boyfriends birthday dinner on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately upon arrival and the drinks and the food were incredible! Super extensive drink and cocktail menu which gave us lots of options. The food menu is very limited so make sure you look before you go to ensure there will be something you like. I got the farmers bowl which was just the right amount of food and unfortunately the only vegetarian option other than a $17 beyond burger. The place felt upscale except that there was no dress code so there were people in ripped t-shirts and swim trunks at the table next to us which killed the vibe. The music was super loud for dinner time but that may have just been because we were seated directly under a speaker. Our server was decent until he had some issues with another table and then was MIA for the latter half of our dinner. Great location, good food, mediocre atmosphere, bad service. My college girlfriend was in town and I thought this would be a cute place to start a fun evening on King Street. The name is adorable and the menu looked good! As soon as the night kicked off, I was concerned, it was like a horse getting caught up in the starting gate. It was way too warm inside and very loud. We were seated at a very wobbly and relatively small table in the corner. After 15 minutes of sitting without being addressed, I walked over to the bar to see if we could at least order drinks while we waited. They apologized and said somebody would be with us soon. A few minutes later, a man in a suit (we think the manager) arrived and apologized and took our drink order. Another ten minutes passed and our server, who was seemingly devoid of personality, took our food order. We went ahead and asked for mains along with our appetizers since we weren't sure when we'd see her again. Another 15 minutes pass - I'm not exaggerating. The possible manager return, apologizes, and says he forgot to put our drink order in and asked us to repeat it. Our food came out before our drinks showed up. Oh, and we saw our waitress maybe 1-2 more times, often not having water. I will say, despite all this, the drinks and food were good. We wanted to order another round of drinks but hardly saw our waitress and were worried it would take another 45 minutes. Unfortunately, if you're not top notch on King Street, I won't came back. This spot is right next to our hotel Hyatt Place Historic District & has become our favorite spot! The vibe is top shelf...exquisite, modern w an innovative speakeasy jazz vibe. We chose this place randomly for a girls weekend. The location is downtown and super easy to get to, with lots of other stores around. Nice and quiet place we ordered chicken wings and fries with two drinks which was good and strong ( vieux carre and a lemon drop martini ). Then I ordered the burger it was very juicy and tasted great the waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu we sat up front as there's plenty of room in and around the bar area the tables were small but it's just a place for drinks and appetizers like food not a big full dinner. If you like music with your food and friends then this is the place for you. The decor is real nice with the look of high class with seating options such as curvy sofa or chairs. As it turns out, my biggest issue with BNB is the name...for some reason, the N' feels kind of cheap, kind of like this place should be called "Pork N' Beans" instead! (And that was a running joke throughout my two-hour experience last week) I did the sparkling wine flight, the salmon entree, and the confetti cake. The food was tasty (salmon was fine, nothing special) but the drinks and the dessert were money. The amount of sugar in that confetti cake was enough for a sensible adult to get through an entire week, and it was a ridiculous, IG-worthy moment for pictures too. I liked the variety of the champagne/sparkling wine in my flight and the presentation was interesting. It seemed like the most interesting thing at our table was the gnocchi...a massive, South Carolina-only portion size was too much for the group but the flavor was quite good. The other cocktails were fine, but these prices didn't feel right (sorry, but I live in Chicago...your cocktails shouldn't cost as much as mine!). The best part of our dining experience was our server, MJ. Both of our appetizers, charcuterie and hummus plate were good but our dinners were not great. Prices are high (we are understanding of price increases at this time) but what was not explained to us before paying is that there was an additional "CC" charge on our bill. When I asked what the additional charge was for, I was told that it was a credit card fee. It would have been nice to be made aware of this ahead of time. My husband and I made reservations after a local favorite canceled ours. Well, it turned out to be a blessing disguise. Our waitress, Krystal was so attentive and very sweet. I've been to this lounge many times with so many different names. With classy decor, dark warm colors, pretentious waitresses and hostess, and over priced drinks, this a "place to be scene" insta worthy place. There was nothing unique about the place that jumped out to us when we went. The bartender who served us was friendly and took good care of us. He provided some solid bourbon price point options and made fresh espresso for an espresso martini. But even the drinks were nothing special and can be found any where in Charleston. I'm glad we got to try this place out, but quickly moved onto the next establishment as soon as we could. Expensive menu that makes no sense.... Wants to be a small menu restaurant but than has burgers, and fish dishes on the menu. Im going to start off by saying do not be fooled, the one star I'm giving this 'restaurant' is one star too many. I initially came in excited because of how many great reviews this place had... only to find out the majority of them are phony. My husband and I both had the gnocchi and his entree presented itself 20 minutes after mine. Somehow, both dishes were cold and when I asked for a manager it took another 20 minutes to speak to the MOD Scott. I'm not sure why it took so long to speak to Scott considering we were one of 3 tables in the restaurant on a Tuesday night. Nevertheless, when he approached the table he looked disheveled, confused, and reeked of alcohol. Not only was he extremely disrespectful to my husband and I, he started yelling at his employee a few feet away from our table. This interaction left a terrible taste in my mouth, even worse than the gnocchi itself. Fortunately, due to the terrible experience, the server gave me a free half glass of Prosecco to wash down the taste of crusty pesto. Finally, just when I believed the ordeal couldn't get any worse and we were getting ready to leave, a server had the audacity to request a five star review??? I asked her why, to which she informed me the staff are required to beg for a five star review otherwise they can get fired! Unbelievable. The server then told me that they often get their friends to leave five star reviews of the restaurant to keep management happy. I was appalled, but I have to say that I did appreciate the transparency of our waitress, whose name I do not remember (though she was a short brunette). CAUTION: I experienced wretched stomach pains that night and the morning after, to the degree I was unable to sleep or go to work the next day. The food here is outstanding! We had crab fondue, truffle fries, and fried chicken lollipops. Drinks were yummy. I would've given 5-stars if the service was better. First, it took F-O-R-E-V-E-R to put in our first order of drinks. After the food arrived, there was a delay in following up and asking if we needed anything else. Also, rather than clearing way for guests to move around the establishment, the servers had right-of-way. Again, food and drinks were outstanding.
