They have the best French toast I've ever had and I've had fresh toast from around the world so that's saying something:)

This place is usually good. My issue was with the new waitress with the long finger nails. I ordered a burrito to go and gave her cash, but she never even offered me my change back. She just assumed that the money was hers. Just not very professional. read more

This cafe is so good. I usually get breakfast, which is always wonderful, but the green chili with a tortilla on the side is a must have for me. Their staff is very attentive and accommodating. They even unhooked the tables and chairs on the patio during the off season so that we could sit outside! read more

I think it's great that Bowles closes for two weeks every year to give the employees some time off, but I miss that French toast. Thank goodness they open next Tuesday!! I would not recommend this for breakfast. Especially when there are so many other restaurants that excel for breakfast. If you like your food luke warm, less than average; this is the restaurant for you. The Bavarian crème French toast is a long john cut in half and fried. The biscuits and gravy ick! We were seated immediately, the waitress snickered at my daughters order. So my daughter asked Is this a lot of food? Reply-No just a lot of bread. (snickering) We waited most of the meal just to get water that was promised at the beginning of the meal, then had to ask for the water. We had to ask for more coffee, water, syrup for the French toast. Service...could have been isolated incident with the service person, but I found it lacking big time. read more

My wife, 17 month old and I came on a busy Sunday morning. It looked like a 30 min wait, they told us 15 and it took 10. We sat and our waitress was very friendly, very fast and professional. Super yummy food! I think it needs to be bigger because last time we went for a Saturday morning breakfast it was packed! But only bad thing is there's nowhere inside to wait except by the front door and nowhere to sit and wait for a table. So your just standing there... We love their green chile, child rellenos, French toast and more. We have been several times and have always been satisfied. Today, though, my daughter ordered the $13 ribeye steak. It was so bad, I feel cheated! It was half fat, super thin so well done instead of medium, and nearly impossible to cut or chew. Breakfast is awesome. The Relleno breakfast is to die for! Standard breakfast combo is more than filling. Have only been there for lunch otherwise. I like the variety on the menu. Burgers are good, patty covers the bun. Service can be slow and not appear to attentive, but I think the staff is overwhelmed by crowds and relaxes too much when it slows down; but they are always friendly and recognize repeat customers read more

As a former Wash Park renter and now a new resident to the Littleton area, I am pumped about exploring the food scene here. Bowles Cafe is a very short distance from my residence, so I was therefore optimistic about this being an awesome place to eat. I just loved their outdoor waterfall! The first time I came here for a quick lunch, and had ordered the Bowles Sandwich. While my boyfriend and I agreed that the grilled parmesan-crusted, sour-dough bread was killer, the roast beef really left me hanging. It was limp and rubbery and had a funny looking sheen to it. I can't even recall what the sandwich came with, which means it wasn't worth remembering. During my second visit, for breakfast this time, I ordered the veggie omelet which I only took a few bites of - the eggs were rubbery and the veggies had been severely overcooked. My boyfriend ordered something that came accompanied with a cup of their green chili, which I tasted and was subsequently impressed with. I am pretty picky about trying green chili around here and have fairly high standards for the balance of flavors that I feel will ultimately declare it a winner. While it isn't amazing and needs some tweaking, Bowles Café is definitely on the right track with their green chili here. My final visit, again for breakfast, was the nail in the proverbial coffin. I ordered their breakfast burrito smothered in green chili, and remain convinced that this was the only reason I ate as much of it as I did. The only thing tasty about this meal was, of course, the chili. After this visit, my boyfriend and I agreed to move on in our search for an awesome breakfast place in our area. Bowles Café seems to be lacking in something that I just cannot place; Taste? Quality? Creativity? Either way, I find that their main courses have potential, but no one there seems to be taking that idea and improving upon it. To be fair, I realize that negative reviews on any restaurant must be taken with a grain of salt. The reviewer may be overly picky, may have different taste, or the cook may have had an "off" day. Knowing this, I was sure to give this place more than one try in hopes that I would be...not necessarily blown away, just satisfied...eventually. Decided to try this place for lunch on 10/9/17 and was extremely disappointed in the wait staff . Once seated and given our menu , our waitress decided to take other people order who was seated after us. She never even came by to ask for our drink orders . After 20 minutes of watching her look over at us a clearly ignores us we decided to leave . They might have good food but I'll never know because of the pathetic blonde waitress . read more

Best little hidden gem in town. You now a Mom and Pop place is good when they are in a pretty crappy location, not bad neighborhood, just not highly visable, and in their first year they were profitable. Everything is fresh and homemade. I think they even make their English Muffins. One of the only places I can order eggs with lace curtains and get them right!! Can't saw enough good things about it. This place has some of the best food I've ever had. It's clean, kid friendly, has a wonderful extensive menu and the best green chili in town. I have referred my neighbors to Bowles Cafe and they all come back raving about it. Their prices are very affordable and the staff couldn't be nicer. I love their outdoor patio with the beautiful waterfall. This can be a family go to restaurant as well as a take a date to restaurant. The only think I would recommend is for them to update their online website. The site background is way too busy and makes it hard to read the menu. Spend a couple hundred and hire a web designer please. read more

Nice atmosphere. But I'm guessing this is really a breakfast joint. My fish sandwich was just two pieces of battered fish on a toasted bun and they forgot the tomato. The Hungarian goulash was like cubed beef in gravy. However we are keen to try the breakfast. Just seems like a breakfast joint. Will be disappointed though if breakfast is like dinner. I think the food is very good. French toast and biscuit and gravy were both items we kept coming back for. This used to be our Sunday morning breakfast place (my husband and I and our two young kids). The last few times we went in it was early and we were greeted by an older blonde woman. She is very unpleasant and made us feel very unwelcome. I honestly thought I had done something on a previous visit to cause the disdain but reading the other comments I presume it is because she doesn't want my kids in the establishment. Sadly I will not be back, but if you don't have kids it is a good place for breakfast. read more

I feel she is hurting this establishment with her lack of customer service and pure unkindness. We love to go here for breakfast and the food is fast and yummy the french toast is the best ever. Just wanted to pass my most recent experience with Bowles Café. I work in the building, and we take our clients there a lot, not because of the food (which is very mediocre), but because of the convenience of it being in the same building. I do Not have a problem with the waitresses (they all seem very nice), but the hostess/owner never greets you with a smile, and instead it feels like she would rather you go somewhere else for lunch. I notice this every time that I go there. I have also seen a couple instances where she gets really short with the staff to the point where it really makes me uncomfortable to be there. We have heard that if you worked in the building, you can receive a 10% discount on your bill. She had a problem giving us our company 10% discount because she thought it was more of a "family gathering" more than for "work" (because a friend and her infant child also accompanied us). Let me tell you that if I wasn't at work, I would Not drive out of my way to go to Bowles! The hostess/owner was very rude to us, and it was a very uncomfortable experience enough that I felt I had to write this review. The owner definitely does not know what good customer service means. Since I work in the building, it is a very convenient place to go for clients, but I am definitely going to tell all of my coworkers and tell them to take our clients somewhere else. read more

1 star is to much. one of our party has dietary restrictions asked waitress to substitute ham for turkey (which had been done every visit before with no problems) waitress said it would be $2 extra which is ok. She came back and said the owner would not substitute the ham for turkey it will be served with ham or not at all, waitress felt horrible and didn't agree with the owner. She was embarrassed. Horrible owner will never eat there again. Needless to say they lost out on an 6 meals served but will never get two cents from me or any of my friends or family. It's not the cleanest. if your starving to death and no other options eat here. read more

Manager/waitress is extremely rude and bitchy. She is an old blonde lady. Treats anyone with kids horrible. We were targeted from the moment we walked in. My kids were extremely well behaved and she treated us horrible. Another waitress even had to come apologize because they saw how poorly we were treated.
