I am writing to formally document my experience at your location today and to bring it to the attention of the owner. I visited your store to return three unused items in exchange for the correct ones. The items were in their original condition and there was no valid reason to refuse the return. Nevertheless, your staff declined and required me to purchase what I needed outright, an unnecessary expense that should never have occurred. Additionally, the conduct of your counter staff was unacceptable. Rather than assisting me, they laughed among themselves and directed a rude comment toward me, a paying customer. I responded calmly. I always do. I am not angry. I am precise. And I will not be returning to that location. These individuals obviously hate themselves and their jobs, get better staff. AŚhe! read more

I went to Box city for the first time last week. I had a very large piece of art that I've been trying to figure out how to mail for months. I called them on the phone and the woman who I spoke with was so nice and patient and extremely informative. She gave me all my rates and options. So I went there and they came out and helped me get the piece of art into the store . It actually came out to be a little bit less expensive than I thought it would be. It's clean it's professional, and the people are very nice. I would go there to mail anything from now on. read more

Whenever we visit Los Angeles, we take either single or multiple trips to Trader Joe's to pick up some of our favorite snacks or household cleaning products. I remember reading and laughing at an article in Honolulu Magazine that ranked the top 10 items that Hawai'i people tend to buy to bring back home to share with other locals because we don't have this grocery chain. The TJ cashiers can indeed tell if you're from Hawai'i just by the items (mainly snacks) in your cart. For folks like my husband and me who tend to travel light, even though we have the airline benefit of getting two free checked bags, we're often seen with carry-ons. We will reserve the free checked bags for when we're returning home with our goodies from Trader Joe's or a unique item that we can't find in Hawai'i. Instead of lugging around larger suitcases, we'd rather go to Box City to pick up corrugated cardboard shipping boxes to pack our clothes and other non-fragile accessories and check them in for free. Then we're free to hand carry the fragile or temperature-sensitive snacks onto the plane. This time around, we needed a box to wrap a fragile gift. We took the present with us and entered Box City from its rear entrance from the parking lot behind the store off Goodland Avenue. Box City boasts an inventory of over 2,000 sizes made for shipping, wrapping, gift boxes, and moving. They also have packing materials to protect your fragile items or fill any empty spaces within the package you need. Instead of guessing or browsing the store, we asked the young man (sorry, I didn't get his name) for assistance and showed him what we were sending. He whipped out his tape measure to take the dimensions and then said, "follow me." He went directly to a shelf featuring the correct size of the box that we needed, and yet there were different colors and thicknesses of cardboard to choose from in addition. He knows his inventory like the back of his hand! We chose the color and thickness of the box with the dimensions he recommended and paid for the box. His service is direct and efficient, and though he's not very talkative, he's friendly. We were in and out of the store in under five minutes as we usually are. The prices are reasonable. read more

This place is the best and Sophia was SUPER helpful. I had a rush order to pack a valuable piece of 4' x 3' art that I was checking as an oversized fragile item on the plane. With a great attitude and pride in her work, she made sure that my box was packed with the utmost care (including styrofoam, firm taping, bubble wrap, and tons of Fragile stickers). Box City had just what I needed for transporting my fragile flower bouquets ! I needed a box big enough for all of them to fit and they had the perfect sized box. In fact , this shop had so many variation of boxes and so many sizes! If you needed one that they didn't have, they could easily order it for you. Everyone is helpful at this store and the price is pretty reasonable. I had help to bring the box to my car too! I bought a couple too many boxes too so I needed to return. They have their return policy super clear and straightforward , posted throughout the store and online. I got my refund and it was very seamless process ! Not only do they have boxes- they have so many shipping items too! For some reason I really like boxes and box stores. Maybe it's because it gives me ideas for organizing or shipping. Anyways this Box City has a great selection of boxes and shipping supplies. Here you can find your typical larger moving boxes. Everything from the square boxes to specialty boxes like ones for wardrobe and glasses. The glass box is cool because it has dividers for protecting the glasses. Great for stemware - even comes with foam pouches for extra protection. I had to ship some jewelry and found a nice ring box which is like the ones you get at a jewelry store. Nice looking. You are sure to find plenty of sizes to suit your needs. They even have nice white boxes instead of the usual brown cardboard, good for gifts! Of course there is plenty of tape, bubble wrap, styrofoam peanuts and shipping labels for fragile or heavy packages. It's definitely a place to get all your needs for packaging up shipments or the big move day. The place is small but don't let that fool ya. Tons of stuff inside. This place used to be Good years ago now it's complete trash. I don't know if it gotten taken over by different owner. Employees don't know what they're doing. Everybody's rude. They have a sign that says that they accept USPS but then you go in and they say they don't why would you have a sign outside if you don't I don't understand who runs this place then I asked if they can print out a label for me. They can't do that either. It's just sad when there's a business right by where I live that I would love to use, but I can't go there anymore because it's a waste of time. Every time I walk out of this store I'm angry for some reason. So looks like no more business for you and I spend a lot in there. also spent a lot on boxes and packages because I own my own business. Came in to buy some bubble mailer envelopes, and was able to find a large selection of different sizes in bulk. I ended up buying 50 for $20, considerably cheaper than the previous batch I had purchased at Target (50 for $40 for essentially the same product). I've also purchased bubble wrap here which was cheaper than Target's prices. If I can shop locally and save money, I'm happy. I'll definitely be back. read more

Don't use this location as a UPS shipping or Access point. The staff here has no clear understanding of how this works, this location is listed as a UPS access point and the southern american woman will refuse packages whenever they feel like it. Goes to show you how crappy their customer service is even when you have already paid for their service. read more

Worst customer service! Customer will walk in and there's no one to acknowledge them. I asked for a box of shredded paper and paid for it. I asked if someone can help me to the car because I had my 1 year old in my arm. The girl said there was just the two workers and that I had to wait so I said that was fine. When she came to help me to the car she asked where the car was but with an attitude. We walked to the car and I went to open the trunk. She pretty much dropped the box next to the car and walked away. The store is so small but they have a big selection of boxes and packaging supplies There is a parking lot at the back and the store entrance is on the back as well a little bit crowded if there are more than 2 people in the store but most of the time I went there I was the only shopper.
