However, I was recently given an invalid UPS tracking number and have been unable to resolve where my package is or the correct tracking number for the past five days! Sometimes you wonder why yelp does not have 0 or negative ratings. This is one of those rare occations. I went to that store two times for notary services. First time I was urgent to notarize the important documents to mail it immediately. The owner (the elderly guy) was there to help and from the culture that we deeply respect the elderly I was so polite and enquiring about the price for notary and other things, he was so reluctant to provide details and that's fine but he was behaving as if I am some kind of criminal. He keeps checking my documents and even to a point he would like to keep copy of my driver license just in case. His whole behavior was super rude - but I was calm and done my business and paid more than normal notary services and left. Recently I need notary services again and out of desperation I went there as the other notary guy (who is super nice) left early. I also thought may last time he had some bad day and why not give second chance. But I was sooooo wrong !! He is the same rude, cranky and his behavior is exactly same, he is way overcharging for notary services (and that would be fine, because its urgent for me), but his behavior is worse and this time, he is getting angry because the documents missing order. I was so polite this time too but he keep treating like me a child. I promised myself never to return to the place. Also I learned you should respect people for their behavior not by their age. I would never set foot in that store again! read more

I had to come in here to pick up a package that DHL wasn't able to deliver to my apartment. Before coming in, it was a chore. Upon entering, it was a happy accident. I turned around as the kind gentleman went to get my package, and was amazed by the excellent selection of gifts! Usually in these shops you can find underwhelming cheap/rinky-dink things a kid might see and want...but here, they have beautiful, thoughtful, soulful gifts. I gravitated towards a cute monster stuffy that is meant to help you not be scared. I bought it for my niece who is having a hard time and could use some comfort. Also lots of candles! I've been in the neighborhood for over 5 years and had always done my shipping label printing here - super fast and convenient, parking is a breeze, no issues. Over the years, it had always been $1 per printed label, however, recently, I needed to print 3 labels and the owner said my total was $5.50. Over $5 for 3 copies? So I asked why it wasn't $3 and he said "uhh... emails." I wasn't going to argue w him (although I'm really not sure how I'm supposed to provide a PDF to print other than email them or use a USB drive which would take equal amount of effort to download and print?) so I paid it. But $3 for printing and the remaining $2.50 for 3x emails? They charge $0.833333 per email? It's the weird, petty things like this nowadays that drive me nuts so I go to Precision Mail on Ventura now - the gal there is super friendly, it's $0.50 a copy, and no "email" fees. read more

I've been going to American Post N Parcel for a couple of years now. The location is convenient for me which is great so I will sometimes send things out via FedEx from here. The people who work there are always really nice but every time I shipped something here I always somehow felt like I was being ripped off. I understand that every business needs to make money so I didn't mind paying what I assumed was a standard markup on shipping services. But every time I walked out the door, I couldn't help but feel that I had been charged unfair rates. Today I confirmed those suspicions. I went in with a stack of documents to send overnight FedEx to New York. The documents fit in a regular flat envelope. They quoted me a price of $113. I knew that was absolutely ridiculous so I drove about a mile down the road to a similar place in North Hollywood. The exact same service cost me $40. I'm not sure if this is even legal or if FedEx regulates this sort of thing but beware that you are overpaying if you use this place for shipping services. I will not be using them again. read more

I needed to send a 6 pound box of cookies to our company warehouse in Lawrenceville, GA (30045). (5.3 lbs - on AP&P's scale - rounded up to 6 lbs.) It had to be there by Friday so I needed it to go UPS 3 day select. The full list price on the UPS site for this shipping level was $29.70. As someone who does a lot of shipping at work (1000+ packages a day, year-round) I can tell you that the rates UPS publishes on their site are full list prices -- with our discount and the volume we ship out, we pay about half of that published rate. American Post N Parcel charged me DOUBLE the published rate -- $62.05 -- a 52% mark-up over the LIST PRICE. If they're like us - even back when we were small and only shipping a dozen packages a day, they probably pay close to $12 for 6 lbs. going from zips 91602 to 30045. I was in a pinch and needed to ship the package immediately (otherwise I would have shipped it from my office) - so I guess that's the price of convenience. I would say that gouging customers like that is killing their repeat business/customer loyalty - but I guess they get enough transactional walk-in business to keep things going. Time will tell. One thing's for sure - despite the fact that I now know they offer other convenient things, like notary service - I'll never be going back. Such a shame, too - I practically live across the street. The real kicker - had I just gone to the UPS website the day before it needed to ship I would have paid $29.70 and UPS would have picked it up from me for FREE. And if I ever need to ship something same-day I'll just find a UPS store - they would have charged me $29.70 as well. Lesson learned. read more

You can save a ton by shipping via the UPS website and then just dropping it off here. I found out the hard way but I was in a rush. Won't be fooled again. Service is very friendly but that's the best thing I can say. Felt so ripped off. There was a $15 difference in the quote I received from UPS' website versus what they had quoted me. So for two packages that was a $30 difference! Even the USPS option was $5 more than what I had paid a couple of weeks prior at the post office for almost the same item. This location is within walking distance for me but the parking lot often looks crowded except at odd hours. read more

The guys who work here are SO helpful, so honest, so professional. I had 6 small boxes all going to the same place. in 10 mins he had weighted them all, gotten me insurance, and told me it'd be cheaper to send them in 2 big boxes. I was happy as a lark walking out the door. Even better! not too much later he called me to explain he could fit more products in 1 box than the other and sugguested instead of splitting the insurance down the middle i insure the bigger box with 100$ more than the smaller since it held more.. these guys care. This is my go to shipping place. I always feel like I am given honest and helpful service. Most of the time I need a custom size box, or specific shipping instructions and the guy that works here always helps to get me the best option for the best price. He fairly tells you your shipping choices between USPS, UPS, FED EX, etc. the pro and cons of each method and lets you make the choice best for yourself. He is also very helpful, where you can call at a later time to check on your shipping status, and can also use his shipping address to receive packages. I think in business honest customer service is a top priority and at this place you get it. I have had nothing but excellent service here. I shipped a fragile vase to Newfoundland and several jars of jam to Africa and both packages were done up so well there wasn't a chip or crack. I ship a lot of things back east and international and I can't imagine going to a post office with them. I never bring a box or stay to see how they insulate the package all I know is it gets there exactly the way it ought to. They also have great jewlery! I can't go in without coming out with something fabulous. I'm always getting compliments on my earrings or rings and I have to laugh and say I got them at Anerican Post!! I do wish they'd accept Amex but that's Amex's fault for their shoddy dealings with small businesses. Highly recommend them. ( also had a post box there for a year... Quick and efficient! I haven't been to many other shipping places around (although I did have an unpleasant encounter at UPS in Silverlake once). This has been my go-to since moving to Studio City. My packages always get sent out quickly and seem to make it to their destination with no problems. After my rent check had been lost or delivered to the wrong P.O. Box here three times in less than a year, I decided to stop in and hand deliver my rent check which was in a properly addressed envelope. I was rudely told that it could not be put directly into my landlord's box, it still had to go from their store through the USPS and then back to their store where it would then be, I presume, put in the wrong box or otherwise mishandled. After this experience I asked a different P.O. Box rental store owner if someone came in with an addresses envelope to one of their rental boxes, could it be directly delivered to the box or did it have to go through the postal service first. The answer: it is at the discretion of the store owner. Whatever the correct answer is, it really all comes down to attitude and proper customer service, all of which I found to be poor. read more

APP is the best! I have been a customer for ten years and have had nothing but good experiences during that time. The owners are on-sight, hard-working and diligent. I have used them for many different aspects of of their services and products and I don't recall them ever making mistakes regardless of how busy they may be. Their prices are competitive and they are great to deal with. When I first was looking for a mailbox place and went to visit APP, I saw a huge difference in services and was glad to see a well-maintained warm and friendly place that was in sharp contrast to the other shipping and mailbox places I had visited previously.
