Placed an order on 12/17 which said it was the last day to order in order to get it by 12/24, I then I see that on the shipping status is set for delivery by 12/28!! Contacted your customer service on 12/19 or 12/20 to explain my situation to your rep and it was like she couldn't do anything and just said if I wanted to return the items I would have to wait until it was received and return in store. You guys are nothing but scammers!!! Telling your clients that you will have something by this date and it's all a lie!! I swear I will never purchased anything ever again from your company!! I was looking forward to starting to shop at your stores and online but after this trust me I will not. As a company you are held responsible for something you place on your website because it said guaranteed to come on 12/24!!!!! read more

I was very excited to find this store in ala moana center, hawaii. I bought several items but had to return 2 the next day. I returned with a receipt and was very surprised and upset that they demanded my driver's license to complete transaction even though I had my receipt. They proceeded to enter my driver's license info into their computer. When asked why, they said it was to protect themselves. since I have had my info compromised from a store in the past, I am very protective of my information. This is a really cool place with a lot of fun nerdy things to buy ;) Unfortunately, I was a bit turned off by an employee staring me down and not even a hello from the others. They were focusing on their merchandising task, but I just felt like I was in the way. I will try again because this place has some amazing things, but I'm hoping for a more pleasant experience. read more

We weren't in the store more for an overall 10-15 minutes and although I understand the store doors are closed at a certain time, the rudeness that was given was still so inappropriate and unprofessional. First off, I was looking at a specific t-shirt when it seemed that the manager or supervisor went up to my friend and I to ask us if we needed help finding a size. Now this would be normally polite in any other situation but her tone was EXTREMELY nasty and given while she looked at messy unfolded piles of shirts near us that we didn't even touch. We said no thanks and she proceeded to roll her eyes, and let out a LOUD annoyed scoff as she folded the shirts. Her tone and look obviously accused us of making a mess of the shirts that were unfolded PREVIOUS to our entering the store and she was trying to make it known that, THAT is what she thought. Then the store officially closes its doors and the manager and the cashier announces that they're closed and asked if i needed to ring up what was in my hand. i say "not yet, there's a stain on the one I'm holding so let me get another one" Then the manager/supervisor scoffs loudly yet again and then whines out, "i just want to go home" then the cashier replies just as loudly, "the look on your face tells it all" and begins to laugh obnoxiously. manager just replies, "YUP" and rolls eyes again before she gives us all the death stare. This conversation was obviously intended for everyone in the store to be heard only a MINUTE after closing. Completely unprofessional. Most retail stores close their doors at closing but do NOT rush customers that are already inside just a minute after door closing, especially not with smack-talking the customers as if they are not right in front of you. Real piece of work employees closing that night. Didn't know boxlunch hired children. Not more than 2-3 minutes after this, we browsed the tables near the front and then we just hear screaming across the room from the same supervisor "can you open the door so they can get out!!?!" It was obvious we weren't facing the door to leave just yet and the screaming was unnecessary. No longer wanting to make any more purchases due to the rudeness of these employees, we dropped our things and left. They even had the audacity to say maybe come back tomorrow to buy the things we were interested in. How about never or at least until these ladies are fired? If you work in retail and can't stand to stay an extra 10 minutes after closing, then you are in the wrong line of work. The rude, child-like shade thrown from these employees to us is a whole other story. At least learn to bite your tongue if you are having a bad day or whatever. Their attitude and looks were SO uncalled for. 10-15 minutes of pure and blunt rudeness. We are NOT sorry for making you three ladies stay for an extra 10 minutes. No patience or manners. Whoever decided to employ these children should really reconsider them unless impatient, uncalled for, bluntly rude employees are what they want to represent the store. Didn't catch their names but it was three ladies working the closing shift on august 6th. All need a HUGE attitude check. read more

This review is for this location only. My family and I have had better customer service experiences at the Mainplace Mall and Brea Mall locations. I received a couple gifts from my sister for my birthday last month. The sizes were wrong so I went to return them with the original receipt. Because I didn't have my sister's card but I had the original receipt, I was under the impression I would get store credit to use. Not only did I receive attitude from the store clerk (honestly, the WORST store welcome and cash register experience), he then proceeded to tell me that I could only exchange product for product on the exact day I returned them (even though they didn't have the sizes at that location I wanted). He told me there was no option for gift card or store credit and that my sister needed to show her card if I wanted to get any form of credit at all. Now you all must be thinking "this doesn't sound right, you must have been doing something wrong..." Nope! I told my sister what happened and she took the clothes and the same receipt to the Mainplace Mall. They welcomed her and when she went to the cash register they all said "oh no problem. Store credit on a gift card?" They didn't ask for her credit card, didn't give her an ultimatum that everything be exchanged product for product day of and didn't tell her that they don't do gift cards for returned merchandise. How can the return policy be so different at this location? My only thought was the guy was new or the gift card option was temporarily available but if that is the case, explain and apologize to your customers. Don't tell them that this is "how it is" when you are not able to assist them under the terms of their return policy. If the guy was even nice about it, I would not have ranted like this. That's the real sad part. Oh and if a store manager is in fact reading this (I don't see much activity on your responses), this all happened on April 24th after lunch time around 1pm-2pm. I still like Box Lunch and I hope future employees at this location get better customer service training. read more

Spoke to three reps who wouldn't allow me to cancel my order. My friend who cancelled a order 5 mins after my second conversation had no issues. The third rep I spoke with named Richie, said he was the supervisor and there was no one above him that I could speak too regarding this matter. The workers I spoke with said since it was past 1hr of the order submission and they couldn't cancel because they did not see the cancel 'button' on their end. Richie (pretend manager) told me my order couldn't be cancelled because it was already on the truck, and they would have to remove EVERY PACKAGE from that truck to do so. I have ordered from them in the past, but this run around and string of lazy workers who wouldn't click one button to cancel an order will be that last the site earns any of my business. read more

I often shop at Irvine Spectrum, and this new store is such a great place with fun and trendy items. I did holiday shopping for many people right in one place. The idea of every $10 you spend, you provide a lunch for somebody in need, so you know somebody is benefiting from your purchase. Aside from all that, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I love this store typically, but they ended up disappointing me this purchase. My birthday was last week and I am a huge Spyro fan, and I was so pumped about the new release today 11/13/18. Well my boyfriend decided to get me a Spyro shirt for my birthday; however, online it was 30% off. So he ordered it for me. Well instead of a shipping it to his house, he shipped it to our local BoxLunch store (because there was no shipping costs this way). Instead of being efficient and just simply taking one out of the store's inventory and setting it aside for him, the company felt the need to ship one from the warehouse to the store (we knew the store had the inventory because we went in prior and saw a bunch of the shirts in a neat stack). Three weeks after he ordered it and one week after my birthday, they cancelled his order and we are still not sure why because they gave us no explanation in the email. They did charge his card before the item got to the store, so now he is hoping for a refund for the shirt. It is disappointing how inefficient this process is, the store could have had the shirt set aside for us in a matter of days rather than wait three weeks to find our order cancelled during shipping. I really loved the shirt he wanted to purchase for me so it is a disappointment that I will not be getting it now. read more
