I have been going to Brake Masters for 12 years. My experiences have been getting worse with time. A year ago I brought my mini van in for an alignment and oil change. I was told it would be done in 2 hours. I came back after 2 hours to find it had not been even been in the shop. They technician tried to convince me to leave it for longer, but I needed my car. I left very frustrated. Last fall I took my Mini Cooper to Brake Masters for new front brakes. Not only did they not do a complete job, they took 2 hours longer than their estimate to replace the brakes. They were never honest with their time estimates. At one point, I asked how long and they replied, just a few more minutes, come to find out they didn't even have the pad in their shop yet. They (finally) replaced the brakes, rotors and sensors, but were unable to reset the brake warning light. I have since learned it takes 2 minutes to reset the light and I did it myself. They said the rear brakes were causing the light (they weren't, there are two separate lights one for the front, one for the rear brakes). I returned a month later to have them replace the rear brakes. They "said" they replaced the pads, rotors and sensor. Again they were unable to reset the light. I reset the light. A month later the light came back on. I took it to the Mini dealer this time and was told the sensor was not replaced. Thus the light continued to come on. The dealer replaced the sensor and my brake light problem has been fixed. The paperwork clearly shows I paid for a new sensor. I am now registering a complaint with BBB and their corporate office to get my money back. I will not return. read more

My car was shaking for a long time which was very frustrating driving to work in the freeway. After taking to 3 mechanics, they all said my car needs a new tire which I already changed them almost a year go and they made me change them again but the problem still existed. Finally, my husband (Adel) took the car to this place, and John said the problem is the axle. They are very knowledgeable about the car and after they fixed my car, I finally experienced what a smooth ride means without any shaking which it was so embarrassing if I had someone with me in the car . Man, this place cost me a ton of money and did crappy work. The brakes they use are metal, so the crud on my wheels was nasty and the life of the brakes was fleeting. When they would fix one thing, lo and behold something else needed to be fixed. Mainly my fuel pump, which caused my car to have major start issues once replaced. The fuel pump was because my gas guage suddenly stopped working after they had replaced my struts. They could never get my tires balanced. I regret the money they took from me and think about 1/2 the work they did on my car was not necessary. read more

"Please stop talking to the other customers about their repairs ...as it is 'none of my business'." I was told the above multiple times from these guys earlier today. Okay, maybe "not my business" but when I am next and he comes recommending a bunch of work for my own vehicle ...then maybe it is "my business" inasmuch as ... how likely am I going to be taken for a similar (very expensive) ride??? The low down: The guy hustling... err pitching the repairs, starts down his list to this pair of ladies with his recommendations. He has a list, as is typical. A couple items down, he recommended a rack-and-pinion for $1000. Though I though it pricey, I said nothing. But then he cautions them that the the tie-rod-ends show wear and should to replaced too ...for another $200! Now, I know that only a few will know what any of those parts are, but so very LITERALLY, the tie rod ends are attached to the rack and pinion AND the old ones would have to be removed from the old because they need to go back ON the new one. Long story short, WHEN THE PARTS ARE COMPLETELY OFF OF THE VEHICLE IT ***NEVER*** COSTS ANOTHER $200 ...or shouldn't... when the parts are a whopping $18.95 online! Yes, businesses need to mark things up. Sure, that is how they make money after all! But taking advantage of someone who doesn't know any better is ...well, you be the judge. So, here is the icing on this cake. When I called him out on it, "is the $200 for the tie-rod-ends if she was to get ONLY those done or is it an additional, when being replaced at the same time as the rack-and pinion?" He stammers and "well yeah..." So rather than him take this opportunity to look like a gallant hero and say that he will replace those for FREE if they pay the $40 bucks for the parts, he tells me that this is "their conversation and this is none of my business"!!! When I reminded him that there is ***NO*** additional labor to replace those, he interrupted me and repeated himself, quickly shutting me down. When he left into the garage, I showed the ladies the parts online. When he returned, not willing to acknowledge that I might know a thing or two about cars, he yet again told me that I was not allowed to talk to any of their customers. (Check your free speech at the door while you are at it too, I guess?) As there is NO WAY I will EVER take even my lawnmower to these guys, I was VERY glad that they had just started my car, I quickly grabbed my keys and left before they could charge me for anything. Sadly, when I told the guy starting on my car that I wasn't staying and I told him why, he agreed that it was indeed "none of my business!" So evidently, maybe common business practices???? But be sure of this, they will get exactly as they have asked: "NONE OF MY BUSINESS!" Pssst.... though "none of your business"..... Please, I do hope that when you see me, my wife or my daughter in a vulnerable situation and know better, I ask your to speak up and help keep us from being unjustly taken advantage of. read more

I took my car in for simple check for my AC not blowing as cold air as before. The AC was still running just fine when I went in to have it checked. I thought they will say the Freon is low as my car has 125k miles on it. But the manager came back and told me that they connected some kinda equipment to the car to diagnose the problem and I need total of ~$500 in repairs. I told them I will have to come back on another day as I had prior appointments. Manager kept telling me they will give 10% off if I continue to go with repair and kept pushing. When I said I will take an appointment for another day as I am not driving the car that much due to WFH and will bring it back for repairs. He did not give me an appointment and said "come back when you are ready but no 10% off". I decided to leave as I didn't have time to do the repairs. As I started my car the AC was completely dead and blowing hot air and when I tried get answers, manager told me "you will not comprehend what is going with you AC hence don't argue with me" . All I wanted to know is what diagnosis they did on the car for need of ~$500 in repairs and the answer was " your car AC had a leak". My car AC was working just fine and I took it in proactively to avoid any bigger issues later. This particular location pretty much cause my AC to not work completely. I took in my car to Toyota dealer and they were able to fix my car AC well below repair price than this shop.... please be aware of these people and get second opinion and don't fall for their temporary discounts. read more

Back in April I had major issues with my A/C Compressor and Serpentine belt. They fixed these issues at a fair market rate, according to a few references and reviews I'd read online. Now on Oct 19th I had the exact same problem, I dropped of on my way to work, and worried about the bil. I got my warranty through them the first time, making the trip absolutely FREE!! Went during my lunch break hoping I could get worked in for an oil change ( which I was a bit overdue for.) Was told by Louie that they could definitely work me in and that it should be about a hour. I decided to wait for my car and it actually ended being less than what he originally quoted me. I really like the fact that I was not pressured to add or buy additional services than what I had originally came in for. All in all I was able to get in and out during my lunch break hassle free! It took about 1 hour and 30mins even with a scheduled appointment on a weekday not during rush hour or lunch either. Brake masters? More like break masters. This place is definitely not the place to get even the simplest job done because they will screw you over. They will lie right to your face and will not look you in the eyes. Sure they have nice little coupons ready to help you out but you definitely get what you pay for. They will not give you the full invoice I.e exactly what they did and how many hours of labor they completed. They don't know what they are doing and they will break your car and not tell you. Please for the love of your car do not take your car here because they will ruin it and you will end up with a large bill for stuff they damaged. read more

Be careful getting your brakes done at this place! I took my car in 07/14/21 to have my front brakes done. The store manager named John seemed friendly and they took my car in right away. John said my brake pads were done and rotors were warped and said the job would cost 500 dollars. I agreed to pay trusting that the job would be done accurately. This car isn't driven very much so 2 weeks later my wife takes the car to work and when she gets to work she calls me to tell me she's hearing loud grinding noises. I say ok I'll take it in to get looked at. Then on her break she calls me again to tell me that the car won't even go in reverse now. I had to go to her work and have the car towed. I had it towed to my mechanic because I'm thinking it has to be something else besides the brakes because I had them changed only 2 weeks ago. What does my mechanic tell me? He says I'm missing a caliper bolt on the driver's side wheel and the caliper came off the rotor and was grinding on the inside of the wheel! My wife was driving that car! What if the wheel locked while she was driving? My mechanic said the tech at brake masters either forgot to re-tighten the bolt or didn't tighten it correctly. It cost me 145 for the tow and another 145 for the car inspection. I call John at Brake Masters to explain what happened and he told me to come by after the car is fixed and he would take care of me. I go to Brake Masters the same day I get my car back and John agrees to reimburse me for the tow and the cost of the bolt but not for the car inspection because he says "there's no way in hell" he"ll reimburse me 145 for my mechanic to "put a bolt in". I had to explain to him that was the cost of the CAR INSPECTION and not for putting a bolt it as he put it. What's more he told me I should have taken it back to Brake Masters instead of my mechanic to which I replied: why would I take it back here when I thought the job was done correctly and only 2 weeks ago! I couldn't believe it! So to wrap this up I ended up paying 645 for a job that should've been 500 and they gave me back a car that was UNSAFE to drive. BASIC SUMMARY: Brake Masters charged me for part and labor to replace a damaged hose and I later found out they had not replaced the part. DETAILS: I had been going to Brake Masters for several years and had some suspicions that I was being conned. My recent experience proved me right. I was charged for work that was not done. I cannot even begin to imagine how many other times I was scammed by Brake Masters over the years. In February 2014, my car had an oil leak so I brought it to the Brake Masters to repair the oil leak and the damage resulting from the leak. I paid just under $1500 to repair the source of the leak and the damage it caused. One of the charges was to replace the "Low Pressure Power Steering Hose" because the leaking oil had damaged the hose. In April 2014, I brought my car back to the same Brake Masters location for an oil change. An employee came over to talk to me about the condition of the car and advised I had an oil leak, power steering fluid leak and other issues. I advised the employee that I had recently paid Brake Masters to repair all oil leaks and the damage caused by the leaks. He immediately back-tracked and said "Oh wait, let me double check, hold on" and went back to look at my car again. He then came back out and said the car was fine and there "might" be a power steering fluid leak but the car was fine to drive and just check back in a week. My suspicions of Brake Masters made me decide to take my car to a Toyota Dealership Service Center. The Toyota Dealership advised that the oil leaks were not all fixed and required additional repairs. They also confirmed that Brake Masters had NOT replaced the damaged Power Steering hose and that both Power Steering hoses were original parts. I contacted the headquarters and they said "as a gesture of good will" they'd send me a check refunding me for the hose and labor, as if they were doing me a favor by refunding me for fraudulent charges! When I received the check, it had a legal waiver on it, indicating that if I signed the check, I was relieving Brake Masters of all responsibility. I refused to sign the check as I'm not required to sign a legal waiver to get a refund for fraudulent charges, and I did get the refund back on my credit card. I continued corresponding with them, trying to get additional reimbursement for all the damage to the power steering system after leaving the bad hose on, but they said that the bad power steering hose left on the car would not have caused more damages to the power steering system. I have never had problems with my power steering system before, so apparently it was a big coincidence that when Brake Masters failed to replace a damaged part, the rest of the system suffered damage too. I will never go to any Brake Masters ever again. read more

Not sure what to think... I had my front brake serviced in Glendale a few years ago (4/5?) and they have done a great job I thought so I decided to go to the Chandler location to service my back drums. I went with a coupon for a $119 job brake and ended up paying $300 not sure how I got there. Seems like you never get the price you would expect, a bit frustrating son 't you think? Nonetheless, I spent about 4 hours on Saturday morning waiting for my car then took off. Everything was fine until I started to hear a clunking noise when braking. I wasn't sure what it was but couldn't bring back the car until Monday morning. I went there at opening and explain what I've heard. Left the car and they shuttled me to work (nice to be offered a shuttle service). Later on they call me stating that in fact the noise was coming from the front rotors and they needed resurfacing. I said okay and they did it for free, nice. My coworker brings back to the store and I took my car to lunch. What a big surprise when I tried to brake... the car was still rolling! It felt like I was only using the back brakes. So I decided to go back to the shop again and told them what was going on. They ended up saying that the brake pads needed to be bedded in the resurfaced rotors and it was a matter of going and braking multiple times. As I thought it was dangerous to do so I left my car one more time there. Later on they picked me up at work with my car in order to try the brakes. This time they were working however not as hard than before I brought the car to them. I said good enough though and started to think about it. My car is a Honda with 165000 miles on it and the front rotor were the originals, a bit rusty and probably on their end of life. So I decided to get some new ones that I changed myself. I had to re-bed the brakes myself however now they are working like new! So basically they did an okay job however I'm still a bit concerned about their prices. I was quote $139 for brakes that you can find for $40 on Amazon.com... and this doesn't include the labor, just parts! So, sure they offer a lifetime warranty, however basically Bendix provides it, they are just passing it on and you still have to pay for labor. All in all, they were willing to work on my upcoming issues which was great however, price wise, they might not be that competitive. Would it be nice to Bring Your Own Brakes... for more savings? read more

I would not recommend this location! I took my truck here to get my front brakes replaced and brake fluid changed. Not long after the 90 day warranty my truck started to wobble when braking. I had to take my truck in to the Toyota dealership for an unrelated reason which was under warranty and the service manager told me that my rotors are warped which is causing the wobble and that the brake fluid needs to be changed. After I inspected the brake fluid it was changed with new fluid but Brake Masters did not clean the fluid reservoir before putting in the new brake fluid so it looked dirty from the outside. For the cost of the service provided I would not recommend this place. Stay clear! read more

Went to Brake Masters today to get a simple brake fluid flush on my wife's 4runner as it had a bit of a spongy pedal. When I arrived Steve greeted me and checked me in. The tech took it for a test drive to verify the concern. Took my other vehicle for a car wash and came back 15 minutes later and they were already lowering it from the lift. We drove home. The pedal felt much better, but noticed a funny noise coming from the front end. When I got home I looked under the vehicle and there was brake fluid all over the wheel wells, the control arms and the inside of the tires. They also managed to get my headlight dirty. I immediately called Steve to let him know and he apologized and told me to bring it in the morning so they can clean it up. Not Acceptable! A simple flush turned into a mess. I had to power wash the whole front end because their tech did not pay attention to detail. Makes me wonder if they are capable of doing bigger jobs. I was a tech at a dealership and just took it because I was on a time crunch. You definitely get what you pay for! No thanks never again.... I have to be completely fair and say that, I would have given them 5 stars had, the manager not try to give me a quote that was utterly ridiculous. I went in for just a simple brake job, including ONLY new pads! Somehow my drums needed to be replaced and a whole heap of other stuff had to be done. I was highly upset, but, Thanks to the Front Desk Guy, I was helped and he saved me a ton of cash by showing me the deals and urging me to stick to my budget and the purpose of my visit. read more

Horrible experience with this shop! Took my car down to have the brakes bleed, told me it would be no problem. Then they said the boost pump and master cylinder were bad. After two weeks they could not fix the problem. They were kind enough to not charge me at least. If you just need brake pads put on, then they are fine but if you need anything complicated steer clear. I did appreciate that they gave it a try but I really would have appreciated honesty up front that they were not comfortable working on my car day one and NOT two weeks later. read more

I took my car in not too long because it was making some noises. It was last minute and the shop seemed pretty busy. But, the manager, John, was able to squeeze me in without an appointment. I am pleased to say that they had my car done within the time frame I was given and the problem was solved. John informed me that there are other things that the car needs due to it's mileage, but unfortunately I didn't have the time to get it done the same day. Do not take your car here. After getting my brakes done, they locked up on me on m busy street. I had the pedal to the floor, and the car was going 10mph. When I called to make them aware, the receptionist was rude and apathetic. I had to have it towed back. They blamed it on bad parts, and replaced them. They called me, and said it was ready. After walking half way there, they called me and told me it locked up again. The next day, they told me it was bad parts, AGAIN. They did nothing to compensate me for the danger I was put in, or the rude service I received. After replacing the master cylinder the third time, it was finally fixed. The manager condescendingly told me "well, we don't make parts." I didn't assume they made parts, nor did I ask if they made parts. It all ended by being rudely admonished by the regional manager. That's what I got for $735. I wouldn't let these incompetent fools put air in the tires on my bicycle, let alone put their hands on my car ever again. read more

my first time at this location and boy i was surprised/impressed big time!!! i the reason its big time due to me getting work down on the store on germann also in chandler and they knocked it out of the park so it seams to me where ever u go brake masters is the place to go!!!! i had the privilege to have jeff wright answer the phone to discuss my needs. with his fact finding skills & availability to see me on with myself being a operations manager in the retail world so i can easily see anything that could better and this location out did the other chandler store and they did awesome too. after arriving and advising my concern due to me having custom rims on and didn't want this or that to take place when its completed they listened i mean they as in "juan" the gentlemen who did the professional educated labor work you'll see in the pics below told me in the best way in my option "lets get it on the lift and see the number and we go from there" i love that due to them being a bussiness that does not overpromise & underdeliver. they fact found and were so confident and after jeff educated me as a consumer, i let them go on and omg i was blown away by juans work. i was in the office for a moment or two due to me spending the day with my mom & office felt really good, jeff brought out some bottled water to make sure we were hydrated!!! great phone call, awesome service, office ice cold,bottled water. after having the privilege with rules of course too watch "also where i could snap photos" i would recommend brake masters to everyone especially these 2 guys! im currently looking for a fan that some use to dry floors so juan can be working with low air so it dont create conflict on the alignment machine,so juan can work his skills without sweat running in his eyes and his eyes burning from it! didnt ask him that i just know. so if anyone has one of those machines message me so ican buyit and take it down there as a gift for them. if icant find one at a good price, i think they should get one or 3 of them so they can stay ready but if i cant find one brake masters give these 2 a raise plz. thanks guys!!! read more

Thank you Brake Masters for making a horrible experience into a pleasant experience. I visited the Dobson & Chandler Blvd location #169 on February 17, 2014 to have my brakes checked. Unfortunately the wait was longer than expected and I left without getting any service whatsoever. I was not pleased! I expressed my thoughts on social media how dissatisfied I was and within a matter of time, Mr. Huy Nguyen (area manager~East Phoenix) made a personal phone call to me. He listened to my concerns and Mr. Nguyen asked if Brake Masters could have the opportunity to regain my confidence and allow Brake Masters another chance to service my car. Mr. Nguyen offered to meet me at the location and I fully agreed to allow Brake Masters to service my car. After speaking/meeting Mr. Nguyen, he truly takes pride in ensuring customer satisfaction is met as well as supporting the integrity of Brake Masters. I was very impressed he took the time to listen to me and he did not make excuses. He expressed customer satisfaction, professionalism and customer feedback is a top priority. He was very sincere and truthful! I would personally like to thank Mr. Nguyen, Greg (assistant manager) and staff for turning a horrible experience into a positive and pleasant one. I took my vehicle in (Oct. 2017) for an oil change bc I had a coupon (first mistake). The tech noted that the engine valve cover gaskets were both leaking and suggested that they be replaced. I took it to Toyota who also stated they were leaking and would eventually need to be replaced but not too bad yet as the oil wasn't leaking down to the underside. Toyota was $200 more (genuine parts and certified techs), so I took it to Brake Masters (1/2018). I also asked them to check my brakes as intermittently the brake pedal was hard to push.They replaced the valve cover gaskets and told me that my brakes were good but the back pads were a little worn but didn't need to be replaced yet. After I drove the truck for a couple of days I still smelled oil burning. I called Steve Younger, the Manager. He told me that it would burn off and to drive it for a few weeks. Two weeks later it was still burning oil and I could see it leaking from the valve cover. I took it back in (2/2018) and they "replaced/resealed" the driver's valve cover gasket and claimed that it was defective. I had to leave it overnight! A few weeks later I still smelled oil burning so I took it to Toyota. They took pictures and stated that the cam seal was leaking from the valve cover gasket repair. He stated that it wasn't cleaned properly or replaced when it should have been. I called Brake Masters to let them know. I brought it back in AGAIN (3/2018). I was standing at the counter talking with the assistant Manager, Louie, who was very nice and Steve walked in, saw me, slammed the door against wall and went into the back. I could tell he was extremely upset with me and my vehicle because he couldn't fix it properly! I let Steve know what Toyota said and provided the picture to him. He ended up replacing the genuine Toyota metal valve cover on the driver's side with a generic cover and putting in a Toyota valve cover gasket. He told me that Toyota was wrong and that there is no such thing as a cam seal! When I got it home I could still smell a little oil burning. I looked at found a big glob of oil near where you add the oil! This whole job was very disturbing and expensive lesson that I learned! I also now have a non-Toyota metal valve cover that didn't need to be replaced! Also, I had Toyota check my brakes... it was a worn brake booster! They stated that it was very dangerous and that my brakes could have gone out at anytime! They couldn't even diagnose that correctly! Lesson learned: DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOT OF EXTRA TIME AND MONEY TO WASTE AND WANT TO BE TREATED HORRIBLY! read more

Do yourself a favor, do not waste your money here....... I had a lifetime warranty on my brake pads and it costs 78 dollars for labor. When I picked up my car it cost me over 700 dollars on work that they had just completed last year. Do not waste your money on this company. You do not need to replace drums and rotors each year yet they will tell you that it all needs to be replaced. Its best to spend your money at the dealership than to waste it here. read more

This company offers VERY poor customer service. I say the company as a whole because there was an incident that occurred while my vehicle was being serviced at this location that required me to take the matter to the corporate level, whom also exhibited very poor customer service. A few weeks ago, I took my car in to be serviced. The store manager, John, cussed in an exasperated tone when I told him that there was a part on my car that had been broken while it was being serviced. He deflected all responsibility and stated "I could be a not so nice guy and say that it was wear and tear of the vehicle...I guess I'll just eat the cost of this." He was visibly agitated/frustrated with the situation, and despite his crass, condescending response to the incident, it seemed like he was going to replace the part and take care of it. However, John was never once apologetic and stated that he'd be in touch with me regarding the part, had his tech "do the best he could to 'fix' the part temporarily" and sent me on my way. He followed up the next day and told me that "his guy didn't break the part intentionally" so I [the customer] "would have to buy the part at wholesale cost from HIM and he'd be willing to install it at no charge." He said that's the best he could do...mind you, he just admitted fault by saying his "guy didn't break it intentionally." At this point I decided to take this matter to his supervisor, as I felt that I shouldn't have to pay anything because 1. I didn't break it 2. My car was in their care while it was being serviced 3. He admitted fault. Apparently his supervisor was out of town so I spoke to the CORPORATE customer service rep, Timothy Harphant (who called back a day later). I explained the situation to him. He stated that he would speak to the store manager to get his statement and requested pictures of the damaged part. (Note: the pictures and video that were sent were of the part AFTER the tech had messed with it and attempted to "fix it", so the damage was not accurately depicted). Timothy called back (yet another day later) and stated that after speaking with the store manager, he agreed with him, that it was general wear and tear of the vehicle and stated that the best he could do is what the store manager, John, offered me..."FREE installation" of the part, which he stated would be at least an hour and a half of labor (for a part that would literally take 15-20 minutes to install) and I'd have to pay for the part that his employee broke. He didn't care that they admitted fault or that he made this decision using an inaccurate depiction of the damaged part. I later called back to see if he would at least approve for me to have the part installed at a different store, as I didn't feel comfortable going back to the store where I felt mistreated and taken advantage of. Timothy never called back after multiple messages left. The part on my car is still broken, and I have yet to hear from anyone at Brake Masters. To say that I was dissatisfied with this company is an understatement. I will NEVER take my car back to another Brake Masters and WILL advise any of my friends, family, coworkers, acquaintances, neighbors, fellow social media networkers, or simply anyone asking me for a referral to a mechanic shop of any kind to look elsewhere for quality care and outstanding customer service. My niece Went in with a coupon for a oil change. When you open the hood of the car it's says 5w 20 oil. They told her you need synthetic this coupon is not for synthetic oil. The ribbed her ripped her off charged her way more then they should of. Ladies and gentlemen stay far away from this place. Maybe all of them. But especially this one. read more

If there was a rating of negative stars, I'd use them. Thoroughly disgusted with the level of professionalism, customer service, and integrity at this place. Brought my car in for a simple oil change and tire rotation. It was overdue, but still. I sat in the waiting room for almost two hours while they did this. One of their techs kept coming in and complaining about the cars he was working on and how dirty and under maintained they were (seriously???), while another tech was on the phone complaining about the number of hours his employees were working. After all of this, they quoted me $1,027.64 worth of work that needed to be done on my rear brakes. This was for both brakes drums to be completely replaced and a new master cylinder. Not having the extra $1,000 to spend, I paid for my oil change and left. I took it to another mechanic for a second look and HE COULDN'T FIND ANY THING WRONG, aside from a small fluid leak on one of the lines. Wow. Being outright lied to was a new experience for me. Brought my car in to check the brakes. They gave me a quote for 300+ dollars to repair a caliper and get new brake pads. Walked out with no work and went to another brake masters on ray rd. Where they said the calipers were fine and pads looked great. Paid 80 dollars to machine the rotors. read more

Brake Masters? more like brake idiots. I took my 09 Cobalt SS TC to get a brake flush. These morons only bled one caliper per wheel, some punk kid takes it for a "test" drive and was told my brakes were tested and I was ready to go. I get in my car and the brake pedal goes to the floor. I take it right back to them and speak with Greg. Greg does some investigation and finds out there are TWO calipers and the mechanic only did ONE. At this point, I told Greg I did not want the kid test driving my car again. After the second attempt at doing a brake flush the manager (Sergio) takes the car for spin and says everything is good now and sends me on my way. As soon as I leave I still feel the brake pedal going to the floor. At this point I am frustrated and dont have anymore time to deal with this. Since this car is not my daily driver I let it sit for a few weeks. I take it back a THIRD time and Sergio is asking me if it is something I am doing or if it happen only in the morning. REALLY? Trying to make it seem like I am lying or stupid. He says he will look at it and see if there is anything they were doing wrong. After about an hour he says he called the dealership and found out they WERE doing it wrong the whole time. For this particular vehicle you are supposed to bleed the brakes with a computer and he admits fault. As I drove off, the brakes still felt like there was still a little air in there but was a lot better from how it was. Now I take it back a FOURTH time and they said they would get it right this time. After they are done they have me test it and guess what, the brakes felt exactly the same as they did when I brought it in. I go back and let them know this. Greg tries to tell me this is normal and that is the way all cars are. Lol, are kidding me!? Greg goes to Sergio(the manager) and tells him what I said. Greg comes back and says there is nothing else they can do, but if you take it to the dealership and they fix it, bring back the receipt and we will reimburse you. So I take the car to the dealership the same day, spend $140 dollars to get the brakes fixed, which they did very well by the way, then take the receipt back to brake masters. When I arrived with the receipt they said they would need more information from the dealer and would get back to me. This is what the dealer said. They felt the squishyness of the brakes; verified! They checked the brake system itself and found nothing wrong with it. Could not pinpoint what Brake Masters did wrong during the flush that would cause this. They did a complete flush and corrected whatever they missed. Brake finally work correctly! Now to the reimbursement I was "supposed" to get. I had to take it all the way to corporate and still the best they could do was refund what I had originally paid to brake masters even though I was instructed by GREG to go to the dealership and bring back a receipt for reimbursement. Worst place I have ever had to deal with! I will never go back there again and I will let all my friends and family know as well. TLTR; Brake Masters are Brake Idiots, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE! I recommend taking to a different shop with better reviews and experiences. read more
