If your vehicle requires more than 5 quarts, get your oil changed at the dealer. Brake Masters shows you a good price up front but then adds on additional costs without telling you before they do the work. In my case, a simple oil change magically went from $55 to $90. Yes this place ALWAYS treats me good. And they ask you if you have the coupons. Like they don't try to rip you off at all. If anything, they sincerely WANT to help. And they show you like this is what is leaking from your vehicle or this is how dirty your filter looks. Like they show you so you know they aren't lying. Another amazing thing that happened with this visit was when it started to rain. It started pouring and they said make sure the van is in. We don't want them out there in the rain or for the baby to get sick. Not a lot of places will be so courteous or even to think about the customer like that. had a 10:30 appointment for an oil change, when arriving they did not mention that they were running behind or anything. at 11:30 they pulled my vehicle in to start my oil change. they also do not mention anywhere in their prices they add $18 labor for an oil change as well. lastly my steering wheel and shifter was covered in grease when i left. read more

Let me start this way, I am female in my late 50s. So I went to the store on Bell Rd in Surprise. I wanted to know what the price was for disc brake pads only to be put on the front of my truck, a Ford F-350. Now let me state that if I was at home in Tennessee I would have changed them my self in my barn where I change my own oil air and fuel filters and oil and brakes etc. Have been doing it for my self since I purchase my first F-350 in 1998. I get so frustrated when they start with that is a large truck and. The manager said they could not price it until they got it on a rack where they could measure the rotors etc. because of its size. I can walk in to O'reillys and purchase brake pads for around 38.00 with a life time warranty. I will never have to pay for pads again. Then spend 2 hours max changing them( time really depends on the ease of bolt removal. They really just saw a woman and thought I would bend over for them. Not this woman. read more

Took my vehicle in to have aligned and was told my control arm bushings were shot and would need replaced to align, took home ordered the control arm at 180.00 and when going to replace I verified that the bushings were not wore out , tore or any reason to be bad but didn't want to have a issue with B.m aligning I take back in and asked why would the tech say they are shot when they are 100 percent solid, being a tech myself for over 20 years this is something that You misdiagnose unless you're trying to get out of doing work or what some shops do to up sell a job. My daughter had her car serviced at Brake Masters on June 24th 2014. Her car had been over heating and the technician told her that her intake manifold gasket and thermostat needed to be replaced, costing 750.00... Four days later her car over heats again.. She took the car back in and now Brake Master is saying she needs a new radiator. My issue is Brake Master charged me a lot of money and the car still over heats and now they want more money.. I would NOT recommend Brake Master to my worse enemy.. Make sure you get a second opinion before letting Brake Master do any work. Typical clip joint. Had a coupon for a $39 front end alignment. They charged me $49 because they had to do "4 wheels." No offset for the adjustments they did not do on the vehicle. Kiind of like the lube oil filter places, no discount because there are no zerks on my car. Ah-mazing! These guys were great! Actually sold me less than I requested. I went in for new brakes and rotors - as I was told by another shop (Wilhelm Auto) I absolutely needed. What a surprise to shell out significantly less money than the original estimate - which was already less than Wilhelm. Go figure - new rotors not required. I dealt with Steve and Jeremy and they were both awesome. I tend to be a little chatty and neither of them made me feel like they were too busy - though I'm sure they were. The job was done when they said it would be and I was on my way. I will definitely be back. Can't wait to see how many more of my Wilhelm estimates are either much cheaper or not required at all. Came here because they advertised a free alignment check. I have bought a car for my grandson and it needed a few things done. Alignment was one of them. I had gone to a place down the street who was going to charge me $30 if they put it on the rack and found out they couldn't do the alignment. So I took a chance on a chain store which I don't usually do. Alonzo waited on me. Pete was also there to tell me the outcome of my check. 2 great customer Service people. And I know Customer Service. It's what I've done all my life. So when I get great service I have to share it. Alonzo rang up my alignment and even gave me the $20 off coupon they were running that week. I honestly expected anyone I took a 17 year old car to to try and sell me more services. But they didn't and Pete told me in detail what I need to do with my car. Aka new front tires. But the alignment went great. Straight as an arrow. Worst place to get your vehicle fixed. Beware. I came in on a Saturday with my check engine light on My SUV, said it's been riding rough and the stabilitrak light comes on occasionally as well. They said they would run an engine diagnostic check and see what they can do. I got a call back about two hours later saying manifold air pressure sensor needs to be changed and I need a fuel injector de carbonization service and i need brakes in the back. I said okay... price $658. Couple hours later they called said my SUV was ready. Paid and tried to start my SUV it Wouldn't start. It would crank up but not turn all the way on. A symptom that I didn't have prior to my visit there. I went back in they said they would work on it and call me back. I left, 5 min after I left the manager Richard said it's ready now "there are chemicals" . I came back he drove me around and said it's normal just keep driving at high RPM and it should be okay. When we got back it worked and I went home. Worked few more times that day. The next day same thing it would crank but not turn on. I was unable to bring it back because they were closed on Sunday. Took it back Monday. They said they'd work on it. End of Monday he said he needs time and they kept my vehicle overnight. Received call Tuesday late afternoon stating my vehicle was ready. My SUV started when I went to pick it up and on the paper it states engine diagnostic, spark plugs, ignition wire set and heater hose. It worked the rest of that day. Wednesday it stopped working again same issue, hard to start it was after they were closed so I had to wait till Thursday. Thurday morning I took it back. I said still a hard start. Picked my truck up Thursday afternoon, Richard said it was my map sensor pigtail connector. Later that night I tried to start it and it wouldn't start. So I took it back Friday, in the morning I had Pete one of the first technicians there try to start it and he couldn't get it to start. He said that's not right, we will look at it again. Got a call around 10am from the manager Richard stating the issue was the battery. The battery, I said, this is the 4th time I brought it back and why was this not caught before. He said not sure but It's gonna cost me $150-$200 or I can take it to autozone. I said no that's okay. Do the battery. Later in the day Richard said he wanted to keep the vehicle overnight to see if it starts in the morning I said fine. In the morning I called a different brake masters that gave me a number to the district manager and corporate. He asked me for my story, afterwards he said He was sorry and offered to take my truck in and take care of the issue. I told him I really appreciate it. So I called to see if my truck was ready, mind u this is a week later with multiple trips back, I told Richard why would I pay for the battery if I didn't have a starting problem before I brought it in and you guys didn't find out it was the battery until a week later and I already paid for other services. He said " I can put your old one back in, and you can take it to autozone and get a battery there." I was like no that's okay I will pay for it... he says " no i'll put your old one back in". Literally threatening to take the new battery like a little kid. I was so surprised they'd have a guy like this as a general manager. He threatened to call corporate and see what they would advise him to do.. I called back to check the status of my vehicle and I got a different employee and he was much nicer and he said Richard called corporate and they said that Brake Masters would pay for the battery. So I got my SUV back and an hour later and after parking my vehicle for an hour or so for my sons game to only come back to it not starting. It's just amazing the difference in Customer service, when I called a different Brake Masters manager at a different location, he was offering to take it in and take care of me, while Richard the one at bell and Litchfield was threatening to take the new battery out. He was not professional at all. Frankly he seems sneaky, I would never go to this location again. I plan on having a family friend work on my truck. read more

Brake "Masters" will never get my business again - they should rename themselves Brake Master's of Deceit! I went to Brake Masters as I had a coupon for an alignment. Forgive me for being economical. Immediately upon presenting my coupon to the sales manager, he seemed to size me up as an idiot and the appointment I had set for 8am got overridden. Instead, the next customer who was a walk-in and not a "coupon customer" got her car looked at first making me wait an HOUR before they even looked at my car. When I brought this to the manager's attention, I was told "oh, we got it mixed up". Right. When it was finally my turn, in a matter of minutes it was determined that I needed my tie rods replaced at the tune of $350 and I was told that they did not think it was worth it to do the alignment unless I also did the tie rods. Not being an idiot and knowing cars - I had 0 symptoms of tie rod issues such as clunking and loose steering, etc., this didn't sit well with me and I walked. I decided to get a second opinion somewhere else. My car is fairly new with low mileage and I don't go off-roading in potholes. I simply was doing my regular maintenance to preserve my tires as long as I can. So...I took my vehicle to another place and had them inspect it without mentioning the tie rod issue just to see if they too would recommend the same. A camera in the lobby allowed me to watch them inspect my vehicle and see the computer diagnostics of the alignment process live. Sure enough, there were no issues with my tie rods and they were perfectly fine. I also watched the mechanic wiggle and shake the suspension components and check for loose play as well as take it for a test drive (of which Brake Master's did not do). I was also able to find a coupon online for the GOOD place I ended up getting my alignment done at. Ultimately I paid $10 more for my alignment, but saved myself $350+ had I been naive enough to fall for BM's crap! read more

This was such a disappointment. I really really wanted to like this place, it is very close to my house. This place is terrible at keeping things on schedule. I have now been waiting for over 4 hours for an oil change to be completed on my truck. They originally told me that they would have everything completed in two hours. I checked back in serval times and they promised me multiple time frames that it would be completed in that they haven't kept. If you plan on getting your oil change here go ahead and cancel all of your other plans for that day because you will be here all day. read more

Nice friendly environment , walked in to fix my mothers Hyundai Elantra vehicle was making noise while turning and breaking, they did a free inspection pin pointed the problem, whole staff was very informative , changed stabilizers they were very worn, car should have been fixed, drove off the lot car was still making noise, ended up being a bushing that was stuck, they fixed that at no charge, car rides smooth. Manager there got himself involved as well was not just sitting bossing staff around. Great to see that type of teamwork, good job fellas. read more

Do not go to this shop. I took my car to replace my clutch and they messed my car so bad. 5/16/18 I drove there with my friend following me so I get a ride back I left car there. They wanted $525 for a clutch $1700.00 for fly wheel I said no I bought the clutch for $199 fly wheel for $385. After so much battle with them now they cannot replace clutch giving me BS excuses then blamed on transmission which I had no issues with transmission at all after 3 weeks I investigated them car was not at the shop was in another shop which I gave no permission. I called corporate which was no help at all.On 6/5/18 they said car was done. Got there paid labor drove my car to find out my steering wheel is bad barely can make a turn, my gas pedal is bad no speed on car, they spilled fluid on the top of hood cannot remove ,broke my cassette slot ,broke my lights for my license plate,carpet by pedals is ripped and not put back together, foot rest is also cracked there's pieces inside car no idea what for. Hands down the worst experience in 19 years of driving and maintaining vehicles not once but two times in a row from this same shop. The first time I brought my car in here they put the completely wrong set of brake pads on my car that grinded into my rotors. This was confirmed by an experienced mechanic so I took it back to them to fix and they put the right brake pads on but didn't tighten my caliper bolts which caused even a bigger and even more serious problem which was also confirmed by the same mechanic. They price matched the dealership and were all very pleasant. Their price quotes were reasonable at first, not the best, but not the worst either. They were willing to price match. The staff was friendly and even offered some of their lunch (pizza) to the customers in the waiting room. Took car in for noisy brakes. Checked it out charged over $700 for brake pads and rotors. After getting car back, the brake went to the floor and the brakes were noisy. Took it back, they stated that it need a new master cylinder and charged over $400. After getting car back noise was worse. Took it back, they now said it needed new calipers for another $400 for two. Went in 3 times, never solved brake problem. Took it to another repair shop, they said the brakes are bad!
