A True Brake Shop! They did what needed to be done but did not pile on the extras. They checked the thickness left and re-surfaced the brake rotors rather than just tell me I had to buy new ones for an additional $450!(like Firestone did) And if I had needed new rotors they would have been $150 for the pair.not $450. Very impressed with brakes plus for taking care of my diesel three-quarter ton truck. Barry had me in and out as quickly as they could and found a couple things wrong that I wasn't aware of. Caution! We took our car in exactly one month ago when check engine light came on. So after my $85 inspection I was told we needed 1) new gas cap $31 2) new vapor canister solenoid $103 3) new solenoid canister $164. With labor we were looking at a total of $512. I said no thanks, bought my own new gas cap from Auto Zone, disconnected my battery (to reset check engine light) and have not had a problem in a month. read more

Stopped by Saturday morning while they were very busy and asked in the bays if they could just check my moms tire as I thought it was kind of low. A nice gentleman who I believe is the manager, Michael?, was happy to help me and took the time to check, fill, and make a recommendation on the tire that needed air. This isn't a tire shop and they were very busy, but he acted like I was the only customer that was there and I really appreciate the time he took. NOT TRUSTWORTHY AT ALL. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! I have taken my cars to this shop for a few years now and thought they could be trusted. Now I know they can't. I took my 2015 Accord in to have rear brakes done. I was hearing the very slightest of squeaking so I took it in. After dropping it off and having it checked out, I got a call and they told me I also needed new rotors. I thought that was very odd since, this was the first time the rear brakes have been done, there was no grinding sound, and I just had the front brakes done at the dealership about 4 months ago and didn't need new front rotors. The funny thing is, I told myself, I bet they call me and tell me I need new rotors. Sure enough they did and I just knew that wasn't accurate. I told them I wasn't going to have them do the brakes and I picked up my car. I just took my car to the dealership today to have the brakes done and they said the rotors were completely fine. In fact, I saved $200 having my brakes done at dealership versus having unnecessary work done at Brakes Plus. DO NOT GO HERE. They are only about selling you more than you need and making you think it is necessary. The sad thing is, I just spent over $500 on another vehicle here getting the brakes done and I'm now sure that I paid for things I didn't need. It's very frustrating how dishonest these car places can be. read more

I called about 8:30am one morning and they were able to make an appt for me at 10 that day. I just needed an oil change and they said it would be 45min to an hour and it was! They gave me a long list of things that should be done in about 1000 miles but never pressured me to do them or make another appt. They were very friendly and never made me feel uncomfortable like some auto repair shops have made me feel in the past. Steve explained everything very well to me and was very friendly. I will definitely be coming back for oil changes and other needs. It's rare to find a place that won't take advantage of you, especially when you don't know much about cars. Thanks guys! read more

I made an appointment for an alignment, appointment five days in advance when I got there the man sad appointment is just to get you in the door.He said it'll be five to six hours before we can get to your vehicle so appointments don't mean nothing appointments at Brakes Plus .I did the same thing twice this month same place Brake Plus on Higley. I went to Firestone on Power Road and was in and out in less than a half an hour alignment is awesome don't go here for anything it's probably the worst place I've ever seen 4 organization if you're busy you're busy then tell your customers that you're busy you're too busy for me it's simple don't lie. read more

The only thing I have to say never heard of one Lug Nut costing $8.00!!!! $225.00 for four tires! That Mathew and Barry act professional as they bait and hook you! It's funny how they publish on the windows of there business, beat dealer prices!!! They gave me a song and a dance on my Lug Nuts being swollen and just to have them overcharge me for the service. Best experience ever! This is my second time coming to brakes plus, the first time my wife brought our 2019 Kia Sorrento for a brake pad change when the technicians let us know that our brake pads were still fine and didn't charge us a dollar to put the car up on the rack and take a look. So I decided to come back and bring my 2015 Hyundai Genesis when my brake pads started to squeal. The squealing was really really really bad! So when Barry called me with the estimate I wasExpecting the worst since I had already called Kelly Automotive in Gilbert and was quoted over $600 for the front brakes alone.Berry called me back with a phenomenal quote of under $300 including a bullet rake fluid flush and the customer service that I received at brakes plus has been phenomenal. He even locked my car inside the garage when I couldn't pick it up the next day. This is truly a good place to do business without having to worry about the over-charges, scams and general mayhem. We brought both our cars in for brakes (squeaking, noise) and were told honestly the brakes were good for another 4 months or so, and what I interpreted as a 'full- brake-job' was simply a dirty disc (which they cleaned without charge). I DREAD going into the repair shop ( even with my auto experience ) because so many maintenance items are prone to interpretation. The guys here have always gone out-of-their-way to be straight forward and transparent. I feel very comfortable giving them 5 Stars, and would give them 10 if I could. read more

While I appreciate this place looking at my car for free so does many car shops . I normally do business w only Chandler Auto & Tire and I'm glad I took it to them as ultimate result . They were literally 125 less than brakes plus . And the guys there are awesome and care about u as customer and as person . The one thing the mechanic mentioned why brakes plus didn't put in steering fluid in my car so it wouldn't damage other parts of my car since I told them I wanted a second opinion . Brakes plus didn't care about me or my car or my welfare. Which is sad but is expected w 2nd rate owner and manager as when I told him I needed a 2nd opinion he was rude and basically wanted me gone . It was just low class . Phenomenal! Came in way cheaper than the dealer quoted me! Brought in my 09 2500hd. Dealer said I needed rear brakes, full system flushes, battery, and a few others at about 2800$. Brought here for a second opinion, did verify I needed brakes, told me the fluids were good but just due based on mileage, and we're up front about the services that had to be done, should be done, could wait, and what would be coming due soon. Mike and Matthew went above and beyond. Drove 40 minutes to this location, will always make the trip from now on. read more

I took my Toyota Venza here on Saturday for an oil change and a noticeable shake in my front end. I thought it was just going to need an alignment but, after they inspected the vehicle for me it turned out it needed 4 new brake pads and the rotors machined. I've had the car for 3 years and I've never done the brakes so, although it was a bummer, it was not unexpected. They made every effort to make sure I was able to afford the repairs needed and get me back on the road safely the same day! I can't say how impressed I am with not only their quality of service but also the repair, my car drives like new! My husband and I will be back, again and again. read more

Matthew & the crew are great. The customer service shown to me was amazing - Matthew displayed patience, care and concern with helping me. The staff were quick and efficient in fixing my battery ground and I will definitely go back for any future needs. Backstory for anyone interested... Monday 11/7 - I must have looked like a crazy person entering the shop asking for help since my car began to have a mind of its own earlier that morning. About an hour beforehand, my car nearly stalled in the middle of a left turn onto the 60, when simultaneously the steering wheel became unresponsive - all this lasted only a fraction of a second but it felt surreal. Fortunately everything started working again just in the nick of time and I avoided hitting the car in the outer lane also turning onto the freeway. I nearly $%^! my pants. Now on the freeway and my car is shaking as if it wants to stall, so I immediately got off the freeway at the next exit and pulled over to collect myself and decided that I'd take my chances driving vs. getting a tow, but that the only place I was going to be driving to was Brakes Plus on Higley. My hubby had gotten an oil change there a couple of months prior & had a positive experience so I figured I'd try there first since I'm relatively new to the area and didn't have experience elsewhere. On the drive to Brakes Plus, the navigation system began to turn on & off as if it was possessed and my car felt like it was lacking juice even though I had a full tank of gas. The whole experience was nerve racking. So here I go walking very frantic into Brakes Plus not even knowing how to explain what is wrong. At the counter Matthew is busy with another customer but acknowledges me. When he's finished, he asks me how he can help me, & I just start babbling about what I had just went through. Matthew was patient listening to me and then suggested we drive my car around the complex so that he could observe what was occurring. I felt validated when he observed similar issues (car alarm sounding when it shouldn't have, the navigation system turning on/off while driving, car was driving sluggish). He told me they would check it out and depending on the issue they may / may not charge me the $85 inspection. Great! As long as it would be fixed I don't mind paying, but it was nice to know that if it turned out to be nothing - they wouldn't stick me with a bill. The place was busy and the lobby is just fine for waiting, so I was surprised when they also offered me a courtesy ride locally if needed and if I didn't want to wait there. I chose not to wait, but instead walked around the complex (and got my nails done! lol. :) About 90 minutes later Matthew calls & explains what was wrong and that the car is fixed and again offered me a courtesy pick up to bring me back to the shop if I needed it (it wasn't necessary for me, but still very nice to know they offer this). He indicated that they would charge the $85 and that was fine - the peace of mind knowing my car was fully checked out & that they identified & fixed the problem was worth every penny. My car has been running fine since! :) THANK YOU MATTHEW & THE BRAKES PLUS TEAM! They exceeded my expectations with their turn around time and provided excellent customer service and care. I think this place is great. I have had several problems with my old Jeep and these guys have treated me very fairly. I also have a newer Jeep that had some serious brake line problems with leaks. The Jeep dealership would not cover this problem under warranty (which I think they should) and wanted to charge me a ton of money. I took my Jeep to these guys and they did a better job than the dealership at a much better price. I have worked with Matthew and Barry and Joe and others and they are all polite and friendly. Any problems that I have had with my vehicle they invite me down to the shop to see for myself and I have always agreed with the way they want to do the fix. We brought our vehicle here and they totally ripped us off. They saw that we had California plates on our vehicle and thought we would never be heard from again. We wanted our tires rotated and our brakes checked. They claimed that all of our lug nuts had to be broke off because they were defective! The white haired owner is a con. They charged us $25 for each new lug nut. We had our tires rotated and due to the lug nuts it cost us over $450!!!' Don't go there, don't trust them. They are cons and money grabbers. read more
