Took car in to have brakes inspected as I was feeling vibration through the steering wheel when I applied the brakes. Told by staff there that my rotors we're out of spec and warped. They needed to be replaced I was told. The night before, I thought I should check part prices (brake pads, rotors) just so I was knowledgeable before going in to Brakes Plus as I had never been there before. Their rotor prices are DOUBLE what you can find online (AutoZone) ... $86 EACH versus $86 a pair at the Zone. I feel very ripped off. Be aware before you go into this place. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!. Took my car in to get the Wiring And Electrical assembly fix. Three months later, it's broken gain. Took it in to get the AC fix....2 months later...broken again. Took it in for a new starter.....4 months later....YOU GUESSED it...broke again. Took it in for an oil change....told me there is an oil leak....they put in a new oil housing.....about 6 weeks later....leaking again....!!! I took it to a different mechanic and got all those same things fix and the car has been running smooth for a whole year now with no problem. Lesson here is...AVOID Brakes Plus....because they don't know how to fix anything properly. read more

Came in for a brake check and to have front brakes replaced. Did not have an appointment and it looked busy. I asked ahead of time on an estimate time to expect for exam and replacement. The front desk man told me a total of 2hrs. So I stayed and chose to not have them shuttle me home. 2hrs go by and they had only finished the exam. So before they started the work I asked how long it would take to do the replacement. Man then told me 2hrs! I wasn't very happy about that so I had the man take me home. I figured since I've already been waiting I might as well go home. Instead of taking an additional 2 hrs to finish it was another 4hrs till I received a call that they were finished. A total of 6hrs!!! What a waste of time and a waste of my day. Never going back!! read more

We took our vehicle there for a second opinion and so glad we did. Joshua and his crew took care of us and did so at a MUCH more reasonable cost. They took the time to do the work right and keep us informed. It's a 30 minute drive for us to this location but should we need brake work or other items it's worth the trip. read more

I visited this location bc I thought my brakes may need some attention. When I arrived and explained my concerns, the guys at the front were very courteous and friendly. After they completed the check they let me know everything looked fine and even took me out to the car to show me the brake pads and how much pad they had left. We talked about other things that could be causing the noise I had been hearing during braking but they said there was nothing I needed to do immediately and that my car was safe to drive. I walked out having waited a minimal amount of time and not having to put any money out. I appreciated their honesty and I plan on returning to this location for my service needs in the future. As I was heading home I also could not locate my phone and when I went back to check if I left it in their waiting area, they were more than helpful offering to call my phone and even helped me look through my car where we finally found it had fallen under one of the seats. :-). When you are like me (clueless about car maintenance), it is difficult to know when to trust a car shop because soooo many places will try to pull one over on you. Everyone in my family and I were very loyal to this location because they were very honest people and had decent pricing. I came here for every oil change, tire rotation, when my alternator went out, brake lights went out...you get the point. About two years ago, I came in for an oil change and ended up buying an unnecessary battery. I was confused when they said my battery was almost dead because it was not very old, I never left lights on. I wanted a friend of mine to look at it (he does not work on cars but he has some knowledge) but before I could leave, it was dead. I learned from the friend and others that it should have lasted longer, and that they probably tampered with it. I was so crushed by the dishonesty. I learned that they had a change of management right before I went in. I have not been back. The reason I am writing such a late review is because my friend recently went in (despite my warning) and quickly regretted it. She took her car in because her car was making an awful sound. They told her it was an oil leak...then told her it was the belt? (This is secondhand info so I apologize if there is a little bit of mixed info) and that it was an easy fix. $600 later, they said the sound had gotten better but they wanted to look at another thing. (The sound was EXACTLY the same, so I am not sure why they said that). She was reluctant to pay them that much because even thought they did replace a lot of stuff, they did not address the actual issue. They said that since the issue was not fixed, they would charge 50% now, and look at it some more. Well, her boyfriend picked up the car not knowing this, and they charged him full price. When she called to tell them her mistake, they refused to refund 50% because of the replacements they already did despite what they had promised. So now she is out $600 and her problem never went away. They are no longer trustworthy...it is all about money. I understand that money is how you keep a business running, but tricking people is wrong. read more

Had a problem with the AC making a weird rumbling noise. The service manager actually showed me what was wrong and the tech fixed the issue in less than an hours time. Very professional and friendly service with no BS up selling you see at other shops. Will definitely visit again for future car issues. read more

I knew I had been needing brakes but had been putting it off. Came home from work one night and my rear brake lights would not turn off. Some little thingy broke but I don't know how to remove a brake pedal and it was 9pm so no choice but to let the lights drain and kill my battery.. ok so anyway we eventually get to brakes plus and Tony Zenon takes care of us. We intentionally left the car overnight. He called early next morning with a fair (and lower than expected) price. Told him to proceed and and of course they go through and see what else "needs" repair. He called back saying the radiator was leaking (which answered the hubs question about what was all over under the hood) so that was replaced and to make the long story end.. all this cost a little more than I figured the brakes would cost. I was impressed with Frank and the crew at this location. I brought my car in just to see if the brakes needed to be replaced or repaired. I wasn't sure what kind of maintenance if any was necessary because it's my wife's car and we don't keep the best records on it. However, they said that my brakes were good for another 15,000 miles. I appreciate their honesty. They didn't tell me I needed a bunch of stuff. so my father in law takes my wifes car or an inspection so of course these guys want to check the brakes seeing how they are a brake place they end up breaking 2 lugnuts off then they end up charging him $150 to fix THEIR incompetence. then they say the brake pads and rotors are worn out which i had just had checked a month before and were fine and charged him an additional $350. avoid this place like the plague these guys are over priced and unprofessional read more

I was at home on Sunday evening changing the oil on my vehicle when I ran into a problem getting the oil filer off. I damaged the oil filter housing to the point where it could have puntured it. I panic and drove to Brake Plus and it was just after closing time. Two mechanics, one i believed was named Donovan? helped by breaking loose the filter and then tightening it so that I could drive home safely and remove the filter myself and complete my oil change. I took my Tahoe there in July 2014. My AC compressor was out. Now it's June 2016. And my AC compressor is out again. Not even quite 2 years later. This company said oh sorry we only have a 1 year warranty. Even though all the same stuff broke again. Then they were going to charge me more than they do in 2014 because the cost of parts and labor went up. They did nothing to try and help me. Did not even apologize or offer to call the manufacturer as obviously the parts they bought are no good if they break in less than 2 years. Maybe this company purposely buys bad parts that are not covered my warranty so you will have to come back to get fixed again. So very sad, disappointed and heart broken. Long review, so I apologize in advance, but want all the facts for you: I USED to have a great experience here, took my car here for everything and they were fabulous. However, recently I have been extremely disappointed in their customer service and their lack of drive to fix the actual problem (A/C issues). I've been having the same issue now three times, and each time they tell me it's something different, I pay to have it "fixed" and the issue is back. I spoke with Mike last time, and he said to call him if it started doing it again and he would stay late so I could pick him up to show him the sound to try and diagnose it. Turns out- that was a complete lie. I called, left a message with Stephen (?) and was promised that I would be called back within 10 minutes; never heard anything back, still haven't heard a peep back and it's the next day. My husband called back this morning to attempt to talk with Mike and he told us he couldn't fix the problem unless he heard it (Which I tried to show him yesterday, but never heard back from them), and basically told him we were out of luck until it did it again. As a customer that used to go to them frequently and refer other customers to them I'm extremely disappointed. I am 7 months pregnant- and cannot be without A/C when it's 100+ degrees out, while my car is acting funny and feeling not safe. I urge you to look elsewhere to get your car fixed, it's just not worth the time and energy and the amount of money spent when you are being treated poorly. read more
