This is one of my favorite restaurants I went while being on the island. This is where I had my favourite kind of mussels besides the traditional ones. Here I had tomato and basil pesto tomatos! They are amazing! Actually all the food and drinks we had here were really good! My Mom got seafood chowder to eat and my Grandma got seafood chowder poutine which was fries with the seafood chowder soup on it. They really like there runs here so the menu is fun to read. This place is located right facing the water and right beside "Dave's Lobster", it was great!

Eating out in Charlottetown is quite expensive, as the food prices are significantly higher than in other cities like Toronto. Expect to spend at least $55+ for lunch (two people, before tax/tip) and more for dinner. However, the prices here are on par with other seafood restaurants in Charlottetown. Brakish was the very first restaurant that we ate at upon our arrival in the city back in 2016. It's a seafood-centric restaurant located on the historic Charlottetown Harbour. There, we had a very casual lunch before going sight-seeing around the downtown Charlottetown. I opted for the PEI Lobster + Crab Roll ($20) - lobster and crab mixed with lettuce, lemon, parsley, caramelized onion mayo, on top of split bun with fries as my entree. The lobster roll was toasted, and there was a substantial portion of lobster meat. The lobster to mayo ratio was perfect. I enjoyed it very much! Many of the restaurants in Charlottetown that has a large seafood-based menu are often opened seasonally only. So please note that Brakish do temporarily closed for the winter season.

I've been dreaming of seeing Prince Edward Island ever since I was a little girl and read the entire series of Anne of Green Gables. My obsession was further instilled that same summer when PBS aired the series during a donation drive. With that said, I was delighted to get a taste of PEI as well and Brakish made it a wonderful experience. Their seating is located next to a charming little marina with lovely boats making for a charming view. The waitress was warm and friendly (she even said "eh" at the end of a few sentences), the manager came over and took time to speak with us and gave us a little PEI trivia book so we could play a little game with each other at the table. He was rather funny when we told him we found the resto using Yelp, he smiled and said that was, "a very American" thing to do, LOL. At the time we were the only tourists as their season had not yet started so we were surrounded with locals. The food was amazing. My husband and I started with the Mussels, some of the best I've had. We went on to have the Lobster Roll, which tasted very fresh and was seasoned just right. My husband had the Fish & Chip, fresh flaky fish with a tasty batter and creamy Cole Slaw. Just wonderful! The beer was also tasty, we both got the Ale from the PEI Brewery. The food, service and atmosphere made this place PEI perfection!

Tomato and basil mussels for the win! Wife had the chicken club wrap with Parmesan fries. Everything exceeded expectations. Local beer to finish and you can't beat this for lunch. Our server, Andrew, was great with recommendations and beer knowledge. Very attentive but not overbearing.

Regular visitors to the island, we heard about this place from the staff at our hotel, on its opening night for the season, and we're so glad we tried it out! Definitely the best fish and chips, and the best lobster roll on the island. And the Parmesan fries? These are amazing! To top it off, a layered dessert in a mason jar was perfect. The service was quick, attentive, and very friendly. With what are also the best cocktails we've had anywhere on the island, Brackish is going to be a regular favourite during our visits!

I had the Blueberry Beer and Bacon Steamed PEI Mussels which were very tasty. The serving was quite large as well. This place has a great outdoor seating area with benches, live music and games. My only complaint about this restaurant was that the only type of lobster they serve is on a lobster roll.

Lobster roll and fries. (I had already taken a couple bites.)

Really enjoyed the lobster rolls we had. The fries were good too and a very substantial portion size. We visit New England often and this lobster roll was on par with the best we have had in US. Nice selection of local craft beer as well. Service was prompt and pleasant although we ate early so we weren't competing with many other diners. There are plenty of places to get lobster rolls on PEI but I can certainly recommend Brakish.

At first, I thought I should've worn a button-down shirt, but I quickly noticed a mix of attire--some people dressed up, others in shorts--so it felt welcoming and relaxed. We started with oysters, which were absolutely delicious--completely different from the ones I've had in Florida. For my main course, I ordered the special of the day: baked halibut in a jerk sauce, served with Irish mashed potatoes and shrimp. The halibut was cooked perfectly--flaky, buttery, and flavorful. The jerk sauce added just the right amount of kick. The shrimp were tasty too, though I do wish there had been more of them, or at least a bit larger in size. That was really my only complaint. For dessert, we tried the bread pudding and the sticky date pudding. Both came out hot, rich, and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth good. By the end of the meal, we left happily stuffed and excited to explore more of the fish and shellfish PEI has to offer. Service was excellent--our waitress was efficient, friendly, and refreshingly no-nonsense. I'd highly recommend Claddagh's for anyone looking for a great dinner in a warm, lively atmosphere.

We enjoyed the lobster roll and fish & chips. So delicious! The beers we got were great too - a blueberry beer and the 1776 IPA. Both were delicious. Service was fine - you order at the counter and pickup at another counter - nothing fancy. They offer outdoor seating only which was wonderful as the day was gorgeous. Oh and the fries. These were amazing. And you get a ton of 'em. So good. Give this place a try - you'll want to go back.

When we arrived, the line was already 20 people deep. We joined in, and to our surprise, it moved pretty quickly. We ordered four lobster rolls and grabbed a seat outside in the blustery wind. In the back of my mind I was thinking, this better be worth it. Then our buzzer went off. When I picked up our lunch and saw the sheer amount of lobster they give you, my first thought was: hell yes, this is worth it. Even sitting outside in the wind and drizzle couldn't take away from what was about to be one of the best meals I've ever had. I've never seen a sandwich packed with this much lobster before. Most restaurants give you a few chunks mixed with filler, but not at Richard's. These rolls were overflowing with big, juicy pieces and just the right amount of mayo. The bun was buttered and toasted to perfection. Honestly, this was probably one of the best sandwiches I've had in my life. If you're anywhere near PEI, do yourself a favor and go to Richard's--you won't regret it.

Dave's Lobster was a highlight. Mr. Bee ordered the Half & Half Lobster Roll. One half of the sandwich was "The Local", which was 1/4 lb. of tender and sweet chilled lobster tossed in seasoned mayonnaise, with crisp celery and fresh chives. The other half of the lobster roll was filled with 1/4 lb. of warm lobster tossed with lemon garlic butter and fresh chives. Both were scrumptious. The flavor of the lobster was sweet. It was really nice to have a chilled half of sandwich and a warm half of sandwich. They both were different, but we couldn't decide on a favorite. I decided no lobster for lunch so I chose a grilled cheese. It was served on the same bread as the lobster roll, but the middle was filled with ooey gooey cheese and then smashed like a panini, it too was different and really good. But that doesn't mean I didn't sneak a bite or two of the lobster roll. The eatery is down on the water in a cute bungalow building. The interior is roomy and so bright and cheerful and spotlessly clean. They offer a few outdoor patio tables, and it was such a beautiful and warm day we ate outside and it was lovely. The service was excellent and the young woman working the counter was so helpful in explaining the different lobster rolls they offer to help us choose and her recommendation was spot on. This was truly the best lobster roll we had on the trip.

The choice of rolls here and most places are to have them cold or warm, and we found we like the cold ones better. The roll comes with a side and we both picked coleslaw. I got a local beer which was a blueberry ale that was pretty refreshing. The food was not as cheap as some places and the two letters MP (market price), typically mean I will be paying more, in this case the roll and side was over $30. There was a generous amount of lobster on the roll and it was fresh but I felt it needed either more mayonnaise or some acid to bring out the flavors. The roll was toasted though and buttery but still lacking a bit. Overall a good lunch for someone who doesn't get fresh lobster rolls often.

Lobster is placed on top of the bun to look like there's a lot but once you put it inside the bun, it's quite a mediocre amount.
