Seriously good food, proteins were great, French fries may be the best fresh cut fries I have had in a long time, super fresh coleslaw. Cornbread was moist and sweet. The negative is that they need to use different bread for their sandwiches because the bun literally fell apart and ended up eating with a fork. A fresh crusty roll would work better than a soft bun or maybe toast the bun so it can hold up to the saucy meat. We will definitely eat here again and bring friends and family so even a poor bun won't stop a return trip but if they could fix the bun issue I think my husband would be back all the time with his coworkers since he works down the street now. read more

I am "living" in a nearby hotel until my new home is built. This spot is in a great location. Plenty of traffic. Located within a very large Sumner Industrial Park Complex yet is very visible and accessible to local traffic. It's very close to the off ramps of SR 167 for easy access either direction. Their online ordering was super easy to use. I opted for the to-go option as I am so close to the locale. Brank's fixed that. Three of us. Ribs, coleslaw, cowboy beans, cornbread muffin and 1/2&1/2 sweet tea = ribs so good I didn't even get to the bbq sauces - coleslaw and beans were excellent though I thought the portions were small- delicious cornbread muffin (worth stopping for). Brisket, coleslaw, loaded baked potato, mac and cheese (not really fair as she is an excellent maker of mac and cheese and always learns her's is better) and a coke - brisket so tender and delicious it didn't need any sauce but both were tried and approved, original was the favorite, potato didn't look loaded until you looked under the sour cream, and the cornbread muffin was highly praised. BBQ brisket dip (a new one on us) cowboy beans, loaded baked potato 1/2&1/2 sweet tea - really liked the sandwich with the hot bbq sauce, potato disappeared quickly as did the beans. Nothing fancy with the building or internal décor. Kept clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Now, the food...oh YUM! Since moving to the south sound we had not found a good BBQ place. Yum! It's addicting! I highly recommend their cowboy beans and loaded baked potato for the sides. The chicken and tri-tip are the usual items we order and they are really good. The chicken is moist and just absolutely gets me to want to come back here at least once or twice a week. I have not tried their ribs but will give it a try next time. My wife and I have been hearing about this place. We were told that it's family owned and food BBQ. One yesterday do to the crazy traffic in Washington we had a chance to swing through. First impression was great, the young lady was very nice and helpful as soon as I walked in the door. After looking at my options we went with the Pulled Pork sandwich, 1/2 Wings, Cole slaw & Mac n Cheese. I also went with the spicy BBQ sauce recommendation from a waiting customer. The pulled pork was very flavorful, moist and a nice middle of the road texture. Add the sauce and you add more flavour that married well with what was already happening. Great sandwich.... I also had the slaw which was descent but nothing that said come back for me. I did add it to my sandwich and let's say it was a nice lift. The ONLY downfall of this sandwich was a BONE in my pork (POSTING PIC). The Salt & Vinegar wings I was skeptical about after some of the reviews, but they were very good and seasoned well. My wife loved them and didn't think about sharing lol. She got the Mac n Cheese and honestly that was a hug let down. Velveeta cheese probably....it taste like it was kraft straight out the box. Overall I loved the service and the main entrees we got were great. Minus the bone...... the two sides were sub par and most likely something anyone can make at home. The only reason they receive a 3 star is because I literally bit directly on this bone and it did not feel good. The sides also play a part. The two entrees alone would have definitely warranted a 5 star review. Hopefully I'll have a chance for them to redeem themselves. read more

We ordered a few things to go. I liked the St. Louis style ribs better than the baby backs, the baby backs were too salty. Brisket was tender but bland, beans were good, mac and cheese was from Stouffers (maybe), coleslaw was bland, we added some apple cider vinegar to improve it, potato salad was good, heavy on the mustard. The location is a bit out of the way and in an industrial looking area but is worth the drive. The St Louis style ribs were recommended by the server over the standard babyback ribs, they were good, very good flavor, just not as moist as a slow cooked juicy rib that would rate as excellent. BBQ sauce is available in normal or spicy, our party decided the spicy was not very spicy. If you are looking for a BBQ place that smothers their slow cooked ribs in sweet sticky sauce, this is not the place, go to the other places. The BBQ chicken was also served the same way, the dark meat was good and flavorful, the white meat needed some sauce as it was almost dry, typical for chicken breast that has been thoroughly cooked over a BBQ grill in my opinion (unless it is carefully basted by the cook to keep it moist). We were a party of 4 adults and 2 kids, ordered the Combo #2 that is supposed to feed 6 people plus a sandwich and 2 more sides, and we had some leftovers of ribs, pulled pork, and sides. Husband and I have been trying out different establishments lately. I surprised him by driving here from Spanaway. Here's our opinion. We ordered the BBQ Chips, Combo #2 with 2 Sweet Teas. #1. Place was very clean. A little bland as far as decor goes. To me a BBQ place should feel like your sitting in some 100 year old building with tons of history. -1/2 point. #2. We were greated and seated promptly. Our server was nice but she seemed to be pre occupied. -1/2 point. #3. We arrived st about 2:30p.m. there was 1 elderly couple in the whole building. And with it being the time we arrived it took 20 mins for our app to come out. So with 1 other couple being in the building we found this lacking. 4. Music was playing and it wasn't so loud you couldnt hear yourself think but loud enough for your butt to be groovin in the chair. OK NOW THE FOOD. We ordered 2 Sweet Teas, the BBQ Chips as an Appetizer. "Entree" was Combo 2 which came with the following: 1 Rack St. Louis Style Ribs or Substitute 1 rack of Babyback Ribs for $1. 1# of Pulled Pork or Substitute 1# of Brisket for $2. A 1/2 Chicken. 1 quart of Cowboy Baked Beans or Macaroni and Cheese. 1 quart of Potato Salad or 1 quart of Coleslaw. 6 piece Cornbread muffins with butter. Meats are served naked with their house made Sweet Sauce and/or their Spicy sauce in a bottle on the side so you can sauce or not sauce. All for $72.99 or with both substitutions $75.99 1. Babyback ribs 1 Rack -- They were beautifully seasoned and had the perfect 3rd of an inch smoke ring. The pull on the rib was perfect and they were not overly fatty or excessively trimmed 2. Brisket 1# -- Had a beautiful dark bark all the way around and had that tell tail red ring of deliciousness. There was a nice thing line of flavorful fat on one side of meat. This Brisket was trimmed with artful perfection. (I cant eat fat from a traumatic event when I was a kid, but this was trimmed so well I didnt have my usual reaction to chewing on fat. 3. Chicken 1/2 -- we were so busy chowing down on the Ribs and Brisket we did not touch the chicken, hubby ate it today and it was still moist and flavorful. 4. Mac N' Cheese -- Was good. It was nice and Creamy the noodles were not overcooked. However, they could season the M&C a bit more with pepper. Maybe add a uncommon cheese like a smoked cheddar or something just to.give it that little bit of something so that when you are.craving Mac N Cheese going to Branks is the ONLY thing that's going to satisfy it! 5. Coleslaw -- This is the reason we subtracted a full star. If you took this Coleslaw and KFCs coleslaw and did a blind taste test you would not be able to differentiate between the two. Coleslaw is the easiest and cheapest item on the menu to prepare and yet they choose to serve a fast food item. Make your own Make it colorful, add a bit of horseradish to give a little space and this would be perfect. But make your own!!! Not Syscos. So -1 star. 6. Cornbread muffins -- Tasty. But maybe they could blend real butter and some honey togeather so they are even better. Instead of the prepackaged little hard butters. 7. Sweet Tea -- was good although it could be a bit fresher. 8. BBQ Chips -- These were awesome, AWESOME. Fresh fried potato chips with cheddar cheese, burnt ends, green onions, topped with Coleslaw and a suggestion of the sweet or spicy sauce drizzled over. They were also served with a delicious ranch dip. These were wonderful as is but I can only imagine how awefrigginmazeballs these would be if they did not have that bland Coleslaw on top. 8. The BBQ Sauce -- Husband enjoyed the spicy sauce. I enjoy a sweet smokey sauce and their "Sweet" sauce didnt meet my expectations. It is tomato based and not so much the sweet/smokey I was expecting or hoped for. All in all we enjoyed our visit to Branks. We will more then likely travel the 20 miles to eat here again. The pricing seems a little high but we get that we are paying for the time spent on the meats. read more

The ribs and the chicken are the best thing on the menu and the salt and pepper wings are to die for. Washington doesn't have to many great bbq spot and there is only a couple places I would recommend for bbq but this is one of them. We're up in the mountains of Washington for my son's wedding and I needed a meal for the rehearsal dinner. We went online and found Brank's. We ordered the Trail Boss for 33 people and some brownies and apple cobbler for dessert. Jessica was my contact and she was fantastic. We had to pick up the food at 1pm and we weren't eating until 6:30. Jessica gave me all the instructions I needed to heat up the food, and it all turned out wonderful. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed all the meats and side dishes (although the ribs were a little on the tough side). I knew it was going to be good when I had some of the Cowboy Beans cold on the way up the mountain. Absolutely outstanding!!! The desserts were great too.
