I made a reservation here a month ago to celebrate an anniversary dinner with my wife. I told the restaurant it is our anniversary and that we wanted a nice view. A week before our reservation, we received a voicemail saying that our reservation was going to be moved indoors because they have a private event going on outside. The voicemail said they were letting us know "in case we want to make other plans." Essentially, the got a big ticket private party and moved their already made reservations indoors to accommodate. Had dinner last night. Ridiculously overpriced for what it was..... and our server looked miserable. Service was NOT good. Despite this, because it was Stroll weekend, and there aren't many options for food for a party of 7, we came back for brunch. STUPID MOVE!!! it was worse. The buffet once again was weak. All-in-all you pay for the view and to be on Nantucket, more than the actual food, which shouldn't really be a shocker to anyone. My wife and I split the burger and the chicken sandwich for brunch, after slurping down some local oysters. The burger was nothing special in any way; no specialty blend of beef and it lacked salt. The chicken sandwich was fine and all, but nothing standout. They were featuring Frog's Leap wine, so that was a nice daytime treat. read more

What an experience!!! If you like beautiful views of the harbor while eating, this is your spot! We had a wonderful night. Service was outstanding, the food was incredible. We had 6 in our party. We started with some chowder, seafood ceviche, tomato and burrata salad and oysters. All the apps were so fresh taste, especially the ceviche. The entrees were a homerun , tenderloin, gnocchi and lobster entree. You can't go wrong with any of them, all depends on your mood. If I were the manager I would offer to treat myself and a guest to a meal, since this was their screw up, but all they kept saying was, "we could do a round of drinks or an appetizer if you come in later." There is nowhere better then BPG! I had such an amazing experience here. The staff and service were out of the park. For dinner, I ordered the Misty Knolls Chicken Breast (picture included). It was so delicious. This came with cavatelli pasta, shiitake mushrooms, corn, and summer squash. Other people in my party got the summer truffle gnocchi, Seafood Ceviche and Steak Tartare (pictures included). Everything was cooked so perfectly and the presentation on the plates was amazing. Not only is the food fantastic but the view is as well. Getting amazing food and an amazing view, all in one!? Can't beat it! Great food, excellent service. Servers are very friendly and attentive. I want to give a particular shout-out to a server named Macarena who is so warm, friendly and skilled, it made my day to be greeted by her. In the days of Covid, tables are far apart, and staff wear masks at all times. Meanwhile your view by the landscaped lawn is Nantucket Harbor, and you're next to Childrens Beach. You get this lovely outdoor seating under a roof, and if it's chilly or rainy, you're protected by the clear plastic that they zip up to keep you comfortable while still having that view. A few tables are also available out on the lawn. I had breakfast, lunch and dinner there and all were great, and they accommodate a gluten-free diet well; they even have gluten-free bread. read more

We have not been to the Brant point Grill that often, as the food is usually of the standard for a decent wedding caterer. However, last week we decided to give it a try on short notice and we were able to get a reservation for a table for two with no problem. (On Nantucket in the summertime that is pretty difficult, if the food is good. So that was our first warning. However, it is a big restaurant, So that did not keep us away. Too bad for us. We checked in with a very lovely and completely incompetent receptionist who couldn't find our reservation (Second warning), found it and told us there would be a wait for the table. When you can see many empty tables all around you, and you have to wait, that was our third warning. But we live 5 miles from town and we decided to wait. We ordered one martini and one beer, which came fairly quickly and were just fine. I started getting antsy after 15 minutes but my husband is more chill, and was willing to wait a bit more. So a half hour after our reservation time, he went up to the receptionist, who was now joined by another incompetent receptionist. Again they had to search for our reservation, and we were told that it had been "coded" incorrectly when we checked in and that they would have a table for us in a few minutes. That was enough for me. Also, somehow the two drinks cost $38 before the tip. They now have the record for the highest priced drinks on the island, and they do have some competition. So, do not go. There are more choices, great restaurants which will try and fit you in. I recommend 56 Union and Lola 41, which are very popular with the locals and seem to understand that they are actually in the hospitality business. read more

Sad to say: very disappointing. The location is beautiful. The staff was great. The food was lackluster. For the high price point, I expected higher quality food and execution. I've yelped about this place a couple of times. Here's the latest. Yes, this is still the place on the island where the pretty people and their offspring come to relax. Yes, the views from your table are still worth 6 stars. No, the do not have the free form lobster over pasta on the menu any more. So, from the advise of other yelpers, I ordered the crab cake as the app ($18) and the halibut ($39). Both were excellent. My wife ordered the wedge salad ($16) and we were unimpressed with the size. A couple of years ago it was a 1/4 of a head of lettuce; this year it was 3 small wedges with blue cheese drizzled on top, and 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half. She also ordered the beef tenderloin ($36) for a lack of anything else on the menu. The other couple we were with ordered the mozzarella and tomato salad (unimpressed - the mozzarella tasted "old and hard") and the clam plate over pasta which was "ok." We also got a family size of mashed potatoes (excellent) and a family size of asparagus (excellent). Lenox our waiter was great, and was always close by but didn't interrupt us. A casual glance and eye contact was all he needed to be asked to stop by the table. Total bill for 7 adults and 2 kids was $450 plus booze. Kind of takes your breath away.... read more

I absolutely love the Brant Point Grill (and the White Elephant.) When I was there we had a delicious selection of small plates, and the chef even sent over an extra couple of mini lobster rolls! (We were there the weekend before the "season"). The staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. Overall I recommend Brant Point Grill VERY highly and I believe that no visit to Nantucket is complete without having a meal there and enjoying the amazing view! Oh and their brunch is by far the best on the island! read more

The view and ambiance lived up to the hype. Especially at dusk when the colors of the sky and moonlight lit up the bay. Food was great. Had the surf and turf for two. Filet was prepared just right and the lobster was tender and succulent. Drinks took a little while, but service was attentive and even accommodated my wife with gluten free bread. Went back to Nantucket for Thanksgiving again to stay at the White Elephant. I've decided to make it an annual trip, mostly because of the fantastic Thanksgiving dinner at the Grill. They enclose the deck with clear plastic windows and serve every possible variant of harvest food as an unlimited buffet. The high point for me was the raw bar, which was just amazing. Every course was special, and a group of four of us enjoyed the setting for over three hours. Accompanied by some outrageously good wines and a magnificent view of the harbor, we were treated so well by a wonderful staff, from wait staff to sommelier to manager. The cost was between $75 and $80 per person for the buffet, but the wine made up the much larger part of the bill. In our defense, there was no driving back to our rooms and it was over the course of three hours. As a special treat, the next morning I had breakfast in the grill and sat at a table across the aisle from Joe and Jill Biden. No political statement, just that my son and I found it a little exciting to talk about eggs with a vice president. The island is beautiful and the Brant Point Grill is set in an amazing resort in an ideal location. They pulled out every possible stop in their Thanksgiving presentation. I really can't think of a better meal, and I will be there next year, too. read more

We have now eaten a full dinner here, and will say that the service for a regular service is quite good. The food is exceptional. With a large group of coworkers, we were able to enjoy ahi tuna, crab cakes, and shrimp cocktail as appetizers, all excellent. Everyone loved their meal, and while I didn't go with local seafood, opting for what turned out to be a huge platter of supper fresh and sweet Alaskan king crab legs with drawn butter, my meal was excellent. If you choose sides, I can't recommend the smashed potatoes enough - you can taste the butter and cream coming through the fresh potatoes. Desserts are delightfully decadent. I recommend the cinnamon pull-aparts for those with a sweet tooth and the seven layer cake for the chocoholics. This is a classic fine dining experience with a beautiful view and food worth the price. It does get rather loud under the canvas covered patio when the sides are down and the restaurant is full though. read more

I like the atmosphere. The food is food-service quality level. We ate here for the Thanksgiving Brunch - I think about $65/person, and for Christmas Brunch - about $95/person. They offered all you can eat oysters and shrimp which were excellent. But everything prepared and served in a heating tray was really disgusting. They had a huge dessert bar and it was all previously frozen (many items still cold) and the equivalent of what you can get in the frozen dessert section of Stop and Shop. If the prices were half, I'd consider returning just because I like their outdoor covered heated dining room overlooking the ocean, and the food that isn't chef prepared is good. High quality raw oysters and steamed shrimp. And who doesn't like an ice cream bar? But seriously, if I compared this place to the $50/person brunch in Boston at Henrietta's Table (which I think is overpriced), I'd say the price here should be $25/person to just consider it. I can't imagine we will ever return. read more

Excellent and deep wine list - we had the Camus Cab - as most in our party were having steak. Service was attentive and helpful with suggestions. Incredibly disappointing - We are a large Family of 10 - we ordered 5 lobsters - 1 of them was practically Raw so I sent it back and asked to it removed from the bill and another 2 were also raw when you opened up the claws... Service was mediocre and the waiter had a chip on his shoulder when I sent it back - the bill was over $1000 for a lousy dinner and this morning I have 2 family members with food poisoning. Moral of the story . - Don't eat a Raw lobster because you don't want to send 3 of them back to the Kitchen and complain! As a travel agent I will ensure I tell my clients to steer clear of Brant Point Grill - which is a shame as the setting is really lovely read more

Friends said we would love it here. I have to say I was deeply disappointed. My starter of heirloom tomatoes at the peak of summer was just flavourless. I am not sure if it was intentional but they were also oddly undressed - no hint of balsamic or olive oil - undressed would be fine if the tomatoes were tasty and juicy. Served with cheap mini buffalo mozarella balls and artichoke hearts out of a can, I could've done much better. Our mains were ok. The steak was well cooked. The sides were again things I could make better. For $8 per side I expected much better than this. The main chef was not in kitchen when we dined - but just because chef is not in does not mean standards should fall. And just because people will show up and pay even if the food is mediocre is not a license to cook such a disappointing meal... read more

Very good experience. We ate at the restaurants 3 nights in a row, excellent food each time. The views (of the harbor) are very charming, the staff attentive and the food delicious. I had halibut one night, which was fresh and prepared to perfection, chicken breast the next night (among the most tender and best prepared chickens i have ever had) and burger the third night, also excellent. The starters also were spectacular, seafood creviche one night, chicken pate the second and duck confit the third, all phenomenal. The wine list is comprehensive and well chosen, we tried a Portugese red wine from Douro river valley one night, a great Zinfandel the second night and a nice Bordeux on the third. Prices are high for food and wine (not surprising for a 5 star hotel), but well worth it. read more

Ordered a bourbon smash on a hot day. I got a glass with a few ice cubes, bourbon and a ton of sour mix. No crushed ice, no mint. It was gross. On top of that the bartender (Ari) was condescending and only talked about himself, so much so that he was bragging about stupid things... like where he worked and who he has waited on. He snapped at a bar back for bringing him a smudged glass in front of everyone. When he would turn around, everyone was making disgusted faces to each other. All said and done, whatever vibe I got, I got a terrible drink that I had to pay $16 dollars for. read more

This place is a tourist trap!! Avoid. I had many great dining experiences while on Nantucket. However, Brant Point Grill was not one of them. We went there for the mothers day Sunday brunch. It was a all you can eat buffet. The chicken was dry. The asparagus was overcooked. The bloody mary "bar" had very few selections. The bill came to $171.00 for 2 which was more than any other meal we had and the least satisfying. read more

The White Elephant used to be a lovely decadent place to go enjoy breakfast. It is no longer. Awful mediocre buffet for $28, barely any table service at all, old urn of coffee on the table, dirty plates sit without being whisked away, the staff at the buffet was condescending and unhelpful.
