The Brazilian steakhouse experience is similar in all of these types of restaurants. The atmosphere of Brasao is nice with contemporary decor and a well lit dining room. The meat cuts are well seasoned and varied. The salad bar has a decent variety of salads, which are frequently replenished. Our dinner service started out well, but midway through, our server stopped refilling our drinks and forgot to bring us some food items that we requested. Then after asking for our bill, we waited twenty minutes and received the wrong check. The dinner was alright, but the experience was completely ruined by waiting for over half an hour for the check. The space is large and has plenty of seating. Not very packed for a Saturday afternoon , but not complaints as we dined and indulged in some of the finest meats . A strong 4 stars , however during my Brazilian steakhouse tour, I have tasted better meats. The oncoming meat flow was fast, unlike other places who tend to slow down or stop serving your table after awhile . The Mojito was strong and fruity , just like I liked. My husband and I have been to this restaurant a couple of times for happy hour at the bar. We enjoyed our experience during those times. When my children inquired about where to go for Mother's Day we decided to go here. Boy was it not what we were expecting. The first thing that went awry was the hostesses could not find our reservation. Took them over 20 minutes to find it. When we were finally seated it was at the very back of the restaurant near a service area with all of the staff coming and going. Not exactly ideal to be put in a busy walkway. Even with it being as busy as it was we received no service. Our "waiter" came by to ask what type of water we'd like. That's it. A guy came around and literally threw a small dish of cold mashed potatoes and 3 cold, hard bread rolls on our table. Please keep in mind that we are a party of 6. We sat at the table for over 30 minutes waiting for our server to come back to place actual drink orders. When no one came we finally just got up and left. Thank goodness my oldest son was able to contact someone he knew close by to squeeze us in for a dinner reservation as we were approaching 7pm on busy night. I kept asking him questions about the different meats, the sauces, etc. and every time, he went back to the kitchen to talk to the chef and answered my questions. I now know what a chile de arbol is and how delicious of a hot sauce it makes! If you love Brazilian Steakhouses, this is definitely top notch; give it a shot. Manage expectations on crowd though, depending on what day you're going. If you're grabbing early dinner on a random Thursday night, you'll likely be overrun with meat spits. If that becomes too much for you though, just toss that coin over to red and they'll leave you alone. If, however, you are dining later evening on a Father's Day that falls on a Friday night, expect to wait a bit between meats. But it's all you can eat! The service here is amazing! They were so attentive and whenever we specifically asked for an item they would bring it out as soon as possible. Some of the items were a little bit on the dry side compared to other places that I've been but I do love their quality and flavor more than fogo de chao. My go to is Chama Gaucha. THE FOODS/DRINKS: They ask if you would like sparkling or still water but note, it is not complimentary - can ask for tap instead. My favorites would be the ribeye, grilled pineapple, shrimp and upon request, filet mignon. They have a meat with cheese inside that was interesting and tasty. The salad bar had a variety of items but something I noticed this place doesn't have that other Brazilian steak houses offer is some sort of soup. The yuca fries that first came out were dry but my hands were on the cheese breads that kept coming out. The plantains were a good palette cleanser too in between all the meats. The carrot cake was just a little dense but still delicious and the key lime pie had a great balance between tartness and sweetness. I also experienced fantastic service, and the meat was really high quality. I specifically loved the picanha, shrimp, and the garlic beef, and the pineapple! I could eat the pineapple all day. M spoke highly of the alcatra (top sirloin with cheese) but I think maybe I might've got a piece that was not great, or maybe I just let it cool too much when I had a wave of a lot of gauchos coming by. The drinks were not the best and next time I would probably skip them. I got the tiramisu for dessert and some of the texture felt off. Probably because a big batch was made and it was being kept cool, but it was not my favorite. I've had the lava cake before and that's what I would stick to next time if I were to get dessert again.
