Anniversary Dinner Done Right! This was our first time visiting Mignon in Plano, and it did not disappoint! We came here to celebrate our anniversary and wanted to try a nice steakhouse--and we're so glad we chose this spot. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a cozy, dimly lit ambiance that made the evening feel extra special. The service was top-tier from start to finish. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and walked us through all the specials with great detail. I ordered the chicken fried steak with cheddar mashed potatoes and broccolini--comfort food elevated to a whole new level. My husband went with the ribeye and a wedge salad, and he was equally impressed. Everything was cooked to perfection, flavorful, and beautifully plated. We also had two lemon drop martinis--they were strong, but delicious! Overall, our experience was a 10/10. If you're ever in the Plano, TX area and looking for a romantic dinner or just a great steakhouse with excellent service, I definitely recommend giving Mignon a try.

A proper girls night. This place met all of our expectations of a fancy girls night out. The service was phenomenal. The food was so delicious. Two of us got steaks and the other fish and we shared a dessert. The steaks were like butter. The white cheddar whipped mashed potatoes were divine. Make sure you order the Brussel Sprouts as your started. The drink/wine options were impressive. I have nothing negative to say about our experience here.

I came here to celebrate my friends birthdays . One of my friends and I split a filet mignon steak Oscar, it was delicious. The steak cut like butter and melted in my mouth. The lumps of crab meat were delicious. The asparagus and mashed potatoes were delicious. The service was great. The server was very attentive and made sure each of us got our order. The ambiance is quiet and romantic. I enjoyed my time with my friends

The service here is impeccable and excellent. The food itself leaves room for improvement since the chefs seem a little heavy handed on sodium flavor. The way they get folks started here is a little confusing. You're served a drink menu and wait until you can start ordering your entree and appetizers. To me, the food was extremely well cooked. The halibut was perfect and flaky. The seasonal watermelon salad was quite refreshing in the Texas heat as well. But overall, I found the main courses overly salty. I had to keep taking gulps of water because I thought they imbued the ocean in as flavoring. If you do decide to come here, make reservations on Open Table so you can get in instantly.

From start to finish, our experience here was incredible! Nicola, the owner, is truly amazing--so attentive, warm, and genuine. He made us feel welcome right away and really went above and beyond to take care of us throughout the evening. The food was absolutely delicious--every dish was packed with flavor and clearly made with love and passion. You can tell this is a place that cares deeply about both the food and the people. If you're looking for a spot that combines authentic hospitality with top-quality food, this is it. شكراً عمو Nicola!

    Excellent wine menu.

My wife and I found this little gem on OpenTable. It had great reviews so we decided to give it a try. In short, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We started with the calamari -- hands down, the best in town. Lightly crisped, perfectly tender, and paired with a flavorful dipping sauce, it set the bar high right from the beginning. The fresh bread they brought to the table was warm and crusty, a simple touch that made a big impression (we were starving so maybe that had something to do with it). For the main course, we both ordered the 8 ounce filet with a side of creamed spinach. The steaks were cooked exactly to order -- tender, juicy, and full of flavor -- and the creamed spinach was rich, smooth, and comforting, the perfect complement to the meal. Service was truly excellent. We were attended to by two different servers, both friendly and attentive, and even the owner stopped by a few times to check on us -- something you don't see often these days and a sign they really care about the guest experience. We sat outside on the patio, enjoying the pleasant evening weather, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Mignon offers top-quality food, thoughtful service, and a charming atmosphere. It's a spot we'll absolutely return to -- especially when we're craving that incredible calamari! Highly recommend. 10/10.

Went to celebrate my birthday. The place is very romantic and cozy! We had a wonderful experience. Starting with service, was truly outstanding and our waiter, James, was very friendly. The food quality was excellent, very delicious. We had escargot, followed by Pecan crusted rainbow trout and Sea bass as our main course. We were so full by the end of our meal that we physically had no room left for dessert. The cocktails are splendid and definitely recommend the Tour de France. Definitely recommend!

Betty waited on our table. She had such good energy and was super knowledgeable about the menu. I'd like to come back and request her specifically. My husband had the smoked shrimp and grits and I had the smoked fried chicken with lemon mashed potatoes and street corn. Both were excellent! I'm not in this area of Dallas often, but I will make it a point to come back. I forgot to mention my cocktail! I had the Honey Bourbon Limoncello and boy was it good. The highlight of the night was easily our server, truly one of the best I've ever had. Friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. If the review were based on service alone, it would be five stars. We started with the chicken nachos, which were fresh and actually pretty good. For entrees, we ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Unfortunately, the chicken fried steak was very bland and tasted like it was missing seasoning altogether. The sides were okay, but nothing memorable. We also tried the rib plate with corn and mashed potatoes. Again, it was edible, but the flavors just didn't pop, everything felt like it needed more seasoning or a stronger profile to stand out. The staff was great across the board, but the food just didn't match the level of service. Not the worst experience, but definitely not the best food wise.

I love the layout of the inside. It's open concept so you can see the chef cooking the meat in the kitchen from the main dining room area. There's also a neat, well designed hand washing station in the hallway that leads to the restroom. Overall ambiance is good with sufficient seating, though on the smaller side. What's different about this restaurant is the variety of meat dishes they offer. I've eaten at plenty of Brazilian restaurants in the DFW metroplex, but never have I ever seen chicken hearts, brisket, beef ribs, ribeye, shrimp and so much more in the rotation. For the dinner to have been $55 with tax (& me ordering an espresso shot) for the high quality cuts I am super impressed and certainly recommend others to dine here vs the other more mainstream establishments that are always advertised. I also really enjoyed their salad/hot bar...though not the biggest, there was a nice selection of sides to choose from. All in all I really enjoyed the service & food here and definitely see myself returning soon.

We're regulars of EG Steak up in Plano/Frisco, and I found that a much more ideal experience. PROS: - Brazilian Lemonade was very good, I was left wanting for more - Shrimp was available as an option, which I find unique for a Brazilian steakhouse - I enjoyed the picanha and the garlic steak CONS: - The atmosphere of the place is simply less formal than desired for what you're paying. It feels a bit like your local Italian joint. Tables are close together, full light blasting, cheap tablecloths and incorrect labels on the stuff at the buffet - Most of the meat we got came to us lukewarm. I only got one piece of meat that was hot - Our service wasn't very great. We kept getting repeats of the same lower quality meats we didn't enjoy, kept getting repeatedly passed up by meats we did want despite our green table indicators and trying to get the guys' attention, and couldn't really get anyone to come to our table very often. - Some of the meats just weren't good. The chicken, for example, was salty and inedible. I also found the texture of the sirloin very, very tough. The lamb was relatively flavorless. - I don't know how much of this I can attribute to the restaurant themselves, but on a Friday night, this place was littered with kids and large families that weren't under control. Kids running around, listening to YouTube videos on full volume, etc literally right next to our table. - My partner noted that it was my birthday, having seen some of the reviews about this place making it a special occasion. It wasn't acknowledged, not even a "happy birthday" from any of the staff. Overall, for just $15 more per person and a half hour drive north, just go to EG by Stonebriar. Definitely a more elevated experience for the price point.

The atmosphere is exactly what you hope for in a hidden gem: an intimate, six-table setting with thoughtful, beautiful décor that makes the entire experience feel intentional from start to finish. We chose the Dinner for Two, and it was the perfect way to experience the menu. My husband and I started with a generously portioned lump crab cake, followed by a perfectly charred Caesar salad. It was my first trip to downtown Plano which is a nice quaint strip of bars, restaurants, and shops that reminded me of any of the small one/two stop light towns around my home of NC, even though you're really surrounded by metro Dallas highways and city. The atmosphere, the food, the service, was perfection. I'll do my best to describe, but if I was creating a restaurant, I'd tell you to go here, and that is what I want. The restaurant itself is very nice, certainly upscale enough for a super nice date night, but also casual enough at lunch time for a business casual outfit. The area itself is relatively small and intimate, I'm going to guess 10 or less tables, and a spot for a few people at a small bar. Right beside the bar is the grill where you can see, hear, and smell the food being cooked! The owner was our waiter, and just like the rest, service was plenty formal yet also laid back. He did everything how you'd expect in a fine dining restaurant, but also was comfortable in a baseball cap and laid back fine with having a conversation. He was happy to tell us about the restaurant itself, the interior which he built out himself, and was enthusiastic about what he was serving and told us everything about the meat and sides. It was great seeing someone so proud and excited to tell his costumers about every aspect of it. He alone would make me want to be a regular visitor. But then there is the food! Perfection! All four of us ordered the Wagyu NY Strip, so he just told us he would serve it on a board with plenty of sides to fill us up. We didn't even have to tell him how we wanted the steak cooked, he said everything was cooked to 135 and it came out absolutely perfectly! Quality tasty meat, true wood flavor, it was what I normally have to cook myself at home to get! The sides were great as well, charred broccoli (which I'm a sucker for, marbles potatoes, fries, all wonderful! The menu is not huge, but I think that's perfect. Do what you do well and you don't need a multi page menu full of random dishes. BAR-Ranch knows what they are and they excel at it! It's not cheap, but personally I'd rather have one meal of exceptional quality over multiple cheaper meals that leave me feeling "meh that was fine". Personally I'll be back and can't wait for another opportunity to try it!
