Brunch is one of my favorite things to do! Sunday Funday always makes me HAPPY! Mignon lived up to my expectations. The food, ambience and service were all outstanding. My seafood crepes were scrumptious. The crepes were stuffed with shrimp, salmon, scallops and spinach. Paired with a phenomenal hollandaise sauce.Each bite was delicious and I loved it. The potatoes need work though. They were just so hard and had no seasoning. The orange and strawberry garnish were a nice touch. The ambiance was lovely and sitting in the enclosed patio dining area was amazing. The view of the fountain and sound of water enhanced the experience. We had my birthday dinner here and we were impressed! We came on a Tuesday night and were the only ones in the restaurant aside from 2 people at the bar. We sat outside by the water and it was super cute. We didn't get the food menu until after we got our drinks which we thought was a little off lol but not the end of the world. Our food was SO good - wedge salad, the sea bass and the braised short rib were AMAZING. And they give you bread pre-dinner that was also good. Anniversary Dinner Done Right! This was our first time visiting Mignon in Plano, and it did not disappoint! We came here to celebrate our anniversary and wanted to try a nice steakhouse--and we're so glad we chose this spot. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and walked us through all the specials with great detail. Went there on a Saturday night, and the dining room only had three or four tables occupied. We had to ask for waters and bread. The restaurant kept changing service staff on us and it took away from the experience. To spend almost$200 for two of us, I expect a much more elegant and friendly venue. I went here for a Sunday Brunch. They have the normal inside eating as well as a covered outdoor open seating and cute french style seats outside next to water. First of all the food was delicious. The Halibut special and filet mignon melted in our mouths. We had no problem with food at all. ($3 to split the salad) I just didn't feel comfortable with the waiter. He started off asking if we wanted "sparkling or still" water. I said still and he brought a bottle of water. Later I noticed other tables having ice water poured from a pitcher. He never mentioned "tap water" and when the bill came there was a $10 charge for water. Kind of sneaky!! My wife and I found this little gem on OpenTable. It had great reviews so we decided to give it a try. In short, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We started with the calamari -- hands down, the best in town. Lightly crisped, perfectly tender, and paired with a flavorful dipping sauce, it set the bar high right from the beginning. The fresh bread they brought to the table was warm and crusty, a simple touch that made a big impression (we were starving so maybe that had something to do with it). For the main course, we both ordered the 8 ounce filet with a side of creamed spinach. The steaks were cooked exactly to order -- tender, juicy, and full of flavor -- and the creamed spinach was rich, smooth, and comforting, the perfect complement to the meal. Service was truly excellent. We were attended to by two different servers, both friendly and attentive, and even the owner stopped by a few times to check on us -- something you don't see often these days and a sign they really care about the guest experience. We sat outside on the patio, enjoying the pleasant evening weather, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We have seen this place for so many years but have never visited before. Since it seemed to have survived the test of time (and a pandemic), we decided to have dinner there with family. I will say I'm a little shocked at the decor/seating arrangements. It is definitely in need of an update. We were in a small room off in the far right back of the restaurant. The chairs felt very wobbly and not stable at all. Food was okay. Each of us ordered a steak. It was nothing to write home about. Service was pretty good and attentive. They were there whenever there was a request or a question. If you want a steak, there are other places in Dallas that I would recommend. However, this place is somewhat of an institution in the area. So perhaps we caught them on an off night. read more

Excellent service and quality of food. We went there for their Father's Day brunch. It was pricey, but in general the food was quite good. A nice warm baguette was brought to the table. I chose the Caesar salad for my first course. The dressing was quite good, although I would have preferred fewer hard spines in the lettuce. My partner chose the lobster bisque, which he liked. I ordered the Beef Bourguignon, because I so enjoy it in France. I expected the same beef in burgundy wine sauce, cooked with vegetables, and served in a bowl. Instead, their version was a sizable piece of tender beef in a large block shape, with au jus, with no burgundy wine sauce that I could taste. It was served on a plate with a portion mashed potatoes and not exceptional green beans. My partner had the crab legs Benedict, which he found excellent. The third course was dessert, and I opted for the cheesecake with raspberry sauce, which was large and tasty, with a delicate graham cracker crust. My partner had the bread putting with ice cream, which he loved. Their restrooms could use some attention. The ladies' room had sticky floors, ugly white drawstring bags stuffed into the sanitary containers in each stall. I wore slacks, and had to think twice about lowering them to the sticky floors. In all, though, it was a nice experience. I would not order the beef bourguignon again, as it missed the point of being suffused with thick burgundy wine sauce, and was really just a very tender large piece of beef. Dinner was the sea bass which was better than the sea bass I had on the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The dessert was a key lime pie which was the equivalent to eating a graham cracker crust with a pie filling that had zero taste in it at all. I mean ZERO. I've never had sliced strawberries garnish a key lime dessert plate until now. Bad idea. I had the lobster bisque for an appetizer and it was very flavorful and filled with just the amount of lobster. If it hadn't been for the dessert that appeared to have been sitting in the refrigerator for possibly a week, I would have given more stars. As it turns out, leave the dessert to the professionals at other places because this is a place where the dessert belongs in the trash. I'll return and recommend it but skip the key lime pie that's been sitting out. read more

What an odd place. There's no designated host stand, so you wait at the front door for one of the manager/owners (?) to seat you. Once seated, you're not given any menus. You just sit there wondering if perhaps there are only 5 menus in the whole place and you simply must wait. Finally, a server will approach you for a drink order but again, no menus. I asked several times for menus to be brought and they came at the servers convenience, not mine. Drinks took another 20 min to arrive. After sipping on those for a while food menus finally arrived. We were seated for over an hour before any food hit the table and then it was only one person's appetizer. Another 20 minutes after that plate was cleared two salad arrived. 30+ minutes after that, entrees. Our dinner was almost 3 hours long! Our server seemed frazzled at all times. It was impossible to get his attention. I couldn't figure out how the floor was divided into sections. One server seemed to only have 1 table while ours has 3 or 4 in different areas. The good was just okay. Shrimp cocktail had 4 little shrimp. The Boston Bibb salad was surprisingly good. Entrees were fine if a bit bland. The stroganoff was barely touched, the mushrooms rubbery. None of it was worth the time or almost $400 (!) for 3 people. For that price, I expect service and atmosphere to be top notch. Our first and last time here. read more

We were originally going to go to Fogo De Chao for Thanksgiving . We had reservations and the line was out of control, packed , loud, all of the above. I looked at opentable and saw that this restaurant had reservations available. I called the restaurant right away and the hostess said they could take us immediately. We ordered off of the traditional Thanksgiving menu. It was delicious!!! I was disappointed the soup was dairy so I had to skip it and they couldn't substitute anything. They had apple pie for dessert and the Prosecco was perfect with the meal. Our family had an incredible Christmas Eve dinner. Thank you Mignon!! I researched the Plano area mid-November and found Mignon. I made a reservation with *Open Table for 6 pm on Christmas Eve. I highly recommend you make reservations if you intend to eat there on Christmas Eve .. they were packed!! The drive up was beautiful. Big red double doors decorated with Christmas wreaths and white lights. Definitely, take advantage of Mignon's free valet parking (we tipped). It is a lot easier to get dropped off at the front door or you will be parking out in wonderland. We walked in the door at 5:55 pm for our 6 pm reservation and they were ready to seat us. I would guestimate that 85% of the restaurant was full when we arrived. By the time we left, around 8 pm, it was 100% full, people were standing in the lobby, and outside waiting to get in. The hostess walked us to the patio area, where there were large tables of families and children, it was very noisy! I asked the manager if we could be seated in the main dining area. They "gladly" accommodated us. *Request where you want to be seated if this means something to you! There was a set menu where you picked one appetizer, a main course, and a dessert for $70.00 a person. We ordered the lobster bisque, shrimp cocktail, filet mignon, scallops, sea bass, bread pudding, and chocolate mousse cake. Take a look at my pictures and see for yourself, everything was amazing and beautiful. The food was fresh, appropriate temperatures, well seasoned with a French twist, and served in generous portions. The wait staff did a great job keeping our table clean of dirty dishes and our drinks full. Impressive considering how busy they were. You really need to lighten up on expectations if you choose to eat out in a place like this on Christmas Eve. We were extremely grateful due to a personal situation that led us to eat out on a night like this. The only negative comment I have is that they placed the tables a little too close for our comfort. The wait staff had a difficult time getting around. I guess Mignon was trying to accommodate everyone that was pouring in. Do you plan to attend a church service after dinner? You may want to think about this; it took us approximately 2 hours to get out of there, lol. Between getting seated, served, paying the bill and waiting for the valet, it took a while. Actually, that timeline was reasonable considering how understaffed they were. We were late for our 8 pm church service. Overall, Mignon had a lovely, homey, Christmas vibe. First time me and my husband have been here and the restaurant was beautifully decorated it had a french theme to it. The restaurant was very clean along with the bathrooms but just a little to dark. The food was phenomenal and definitely hit on all points. The staff was amazing and very attentive to the customer and made sure everything was to our liking. The food was brought out in a timely manner and you got one plate at a time and did not feel rushed or overwhelmed like some restaurants who bring the food out all at once.. My family and I came here on Mother's Day for the "Mother's Day Brunch" that was advertised. We have never been to this restaurant before but drive by it all the time so we decided to try it. We made a reservation and requested a high chair in the reservation. We have two kids, 3yo and 10mo. They took us to our table and there was no highchair. So my husband went to ask for one. After asking what appeared to be a manager, he very unapologetically told us they do not have high chairs or boosters and that they typically don't allow children under 8 but made an exception since it was Mother's Day. The manager's attitude was as if we should just be grateful he let us in the door to begin with. How can you have an advertised Mother Day Brunch and not have accommodations for children?? And maybe after seeing the reservation they could have told us! If not in advance but at least when we arrived... they clearly saw it and the baby when we walked in! Not to mention, the yelp page says "good for kids." I can't tell you how uncomfortable I felt to have children in a restaurant on Mother's Day. What a totally terrible feeling. Considering we wouldn't be able to get a table anywhere else, we stayed. To add to our disappointing experience from the beginning, the food was mediocre at best. We all got the beef bourguignon and all of them were dry. Drinks were decent. Thankfully through our brunch our serve was so kind and understanding. He gave great service despite to awkwardness. Later that day we went to Mignon's website and the only place it states their policy on kids is in the FAQ's . So at least it states something, but you really have to search for it. The sea bass has the crisp that I love seasoned very well!! Chocolate mousse cake was DELICIOUS!!! Wasn't heavy at all, just the perfect ending. I heard no complaints about the key lime pie, none leftover so I'll take that as a good sign. The atmosphere was great.
