This was the worst experience I've had in a long time. First the good - menu had a lot of choices and the food was fine. Our waitress was so rude that it ruined the meal. We will not be back. Didn't bother to take our order, then took the order of a party of TEN who came in AFTER us. And only after she made all TEN drinks for the other table. We finally had to ask her to take our order, and she looked annoyed and said, "What, are you in a hurry or something?" Really?? Wow. Never. Again. From reading other online reviews, it's clear this place has a real problem with service. We won't be giving it another chance. read more

I work in Clinton which is about a 30 minuet drive to The Brass Rail. I called this evening at 8:40 p.m. and was told the Prime Rib, which is on the menu every Thursday, was only available for dining in since the Prime Rib is a special! I have ordered the Prime Rib at that time before with no issues. When I have call in the past, I always start with "Do You Still Have Prime Rib" and " I'm About Half An Hour Away Can I Place An Order" Never had an issue before placing a To Go order and always leave a 20% + tip. Casual atmosphere. Great Angus burgers and fries. Many different cheese options for your burger, which pleased me :) You can't get that everywhere. Great French onion soup. Friendly staff. Very spicy (I think it was called) Sweet and Smoky grilled chicken salad, Was loaded with Jalapenos, salsa and a dollop of sour cream. Ask for Jalapenos on the side if you aren't into heat. I went recently to Brass Rail before 4:30pm expecting to get the Early Bird Special. Bad News, as I was told by the waitress, "we no longer offer the Early Bird Special". What ?.........That's the only reason I came here to dine. I ordered my usual etc., and the waitress was very friendly and efficient. However, the food not ! Also, was informed that the Former Manager, who was extremely friendly, as he always visited our table every time we dined there was "No Longer Employed There" ! Though it looks unimpressive from the outside, we quite enjoyed this place. Typical bar/pub food, but everything was nicely seasoned and thoughtfully prepared. Service is very solid too. They even let me keep my Pint Glass after complimenting them on it! read more

Ok, first off I want to say my wife and myself are somewhat of the optimist type when it comes to dining out.. and why not? After all.....We're paying good money to have at least a pleasant experience.right?. so, with that being said.. we, along with a dozen friends stopped at the brass rail for dinner on Monday night.. It took 1/2 hour just to get a menu. It was "wing night" wings!! Yummmm.. a short time later we got to order some bone less wings mild sause.. now it's almost a hour with one drink and no food.. when the order finally came to our table it was wrong.. not just for us but others sitting with us as well.. so we almost have to tackle our server to get her attention to tell her and she takes them back.. When we finally get our boneless wings with mild sause, they were so hot no one at the table could eat more than one on a dare.. Ok, so we're all a bunch of pansies cause the server said.. "Your just not use to our degree of mild.. when was the word mild an abstract thought? They were down right unstable.. not to mention the constiancy of a rubber riot bullet the state police might use .. now we're sitting there almost 2 hours and 2 other couples who ordered salad and chicken dishes are still waiting to be served.. when I asked the server why my friends salads were not out yet.. she replied.. (and I quote) "like... there's only ike two guys in the kitchen and there's like... a million of you's ..rolled her eyes and walked away...wait! A million of you's? I'm i part of some secret army I didn't know about? Last I counted almost 1/2 Of the tables in the dinning area were empy... sorry to put such stress on our gracious host and server...we dine out A lot and tip usually 20 to 25%.. she got not a penny.. we got charged for two meals that night.. the first one that was wrong and the second that we couldn't eat.. Only popped in for a quick beer with my 2 bros over the holidays, and it was ok. Not a whole lot of choices, but at least it wasn't all light beer. Bar has a strange upper level seating area where you actually look down on those on the other side. I hate it when people look down at me. In theaters I like to sit in the last row so I can look down at everyone else. I was always the tallest kid in grade school, which sometimes wasn't the best thing, but no one could look down at me. Except that mean old short lady down the street...she always looked down at me. I digress. Next time maybe we'll grab some grub too. read more

WOW! Met 5 former co-workers for lunch, Danielle, our amazing waitress took all 6 orders without writing anything down. All orders were different and difficult to remember, but she delivered the excellent food in a timely fashion, and correctly placed each order in front of the right patron! Not much of a looker from the outside but, this place is pretty nice and cozy inside. The food was excellent, entertainment wasn't bad and the food came out fast. The hot calamari was great, $5 steamers on Wednesdays. I just hope they didn't use Kaiser rolls on the burgers and use actual burger buns. read more

Anyone who likes the food here has never had a quality meal. Simply put, the food is not fresh. Ordered the nachos and the chips were stale. They were served with jarred sauce and were awful. We saw food preparers walking in a delivery of pre-grilled and bagged chicken, Frozen pre-cooked bacon, and all types of canned prepared food. I'm willing to bet none of the sauces, dressings, or broths are homemade. That came through in the food. Prices are cheap, but who cares when the food is gross. read more

In late September we had a surprise 30th birthday party for our son at the Brass Rail. 22 family members and friends attended that never had been to the Brass Rail before. Everyone was very impressed with the food (both quality and portion) as well as, the service. The food was well prepared and reasonably priced. The service was top notch. I'm still trying to figure out they got 22 meals on the table and still hot. They even set the table with the decorations we provided. Went here on a Thursday on a tip and the positive reviews on Yelp. The place is not much to look at. A typical roadside pub. Draft choices are pretty limited, like 6 or so, and I prefer drafts over bottles. I noticed the menu is full of all too typical pub food. But, they have Prime Rib as a special that day, so my hope was raised. Well, that lasted for about 15 minutes, because when I cut into it I immediately realized that it'll be chewy. Not the best cut. It was also bland. Service is a mixed bag. I was nicely greeted and suggestions were made when I was ordering, but once the food was delivered no one came by to check if things are okay. Since the piece of meat was bland I wanted to see if some horseradish is available. So, why the positive reviews? I guess if this is what the customers are used to they can overlook the flaws.
