    Chicken schnitzel
    Michael T.

Passed this place many times and first time to this restaurant. Promptly seated (restaurant was empty - Sunday 5pm). We ordered from their special Octoberfest menu. I had the jaeger schnitzel and my wife the chicken schnitzel. Each entree came with red cabbage and egg noodles. I think you had some options but that is what we chose. The schnitzels were great and fried. They were well prepared (thin and moist). Red cabbage was from a glass jar but decent. Egg noodles okay but could have used more gravy. Great selection of beer. I had an Octoberfest from Germany. Prices very reasonable! We will be back!!

    Pork tacos

I ordered the three pork soft shell tacos for pickup. The pork was tender, the ingredients were very fresh and it tasted amazing. The service was quick I was able to pick up my food in 15 minutes and as far as the ambiance the place was hopping. There's never a bad thing that I get when I pick up food from this place

Stuffed mushrooms and sampler platter. Delicious!

I haven't been here in years! What a Great spot for an App and a cold beer. We shared the stuffed mushrooms and sampler(southwest rolls, skins, crab dip was substituted since they were out of spinach and artichoke dip). It was all fantastic! The crab dip was phenomenal. The service was great as well.

Service was good, quick and attentive but the food- I don't know what happened? The steak wasn't seasoned and there was zero crust, almost a boiled steak. Clean restaurant and busy bar.

This was our first time there. We waited 20 minutes and no one acknowledged we were there. As we walked out, the waitress asked how we were

The chicken wings had a good crisp, the side salad I asked for was fresh, the cheese steak roll was pillowy soft and was nicely cheesy, and most importantly, the gentleman behind the bar who took our order was a fantastically nice guy The cons. The garlic parm sauce on the wings were a bit lacking and the amount of meat on the cheese steak was only half enough to really fill that long roll. And the most irksome thing was the 2,23 % "technology fee". No offense but WTH is that?????? If it was to use the credit card, it wasn't explained at all. Look, if you like a funky bar with good food and you are in the area, I would say check it out once in your life and form your opinion. But, for me, I just don't know how often

The Warrenside Tavern has been open since 1924, which makes it (at least during this writing) one hundred years old and in that century, it is interesting how Stewartsville, New Jersey changed, as well as how much the world changed. In fact, 1924 was the year that J. Edgar Hoover was appointed the first director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (better known as the FBI) and 1924 also marked the first year that the first Olympic Winter Games was held in France. The world was still recovering World War I and World War II was years away. Anyway, the Warrenside Tavern has a great ambiance and the staff is friendly and professional. One thing that i will say is that in a world where change is normal, the Warrenside Tavern brings back a lot of nostalgia. Plus, while the menu doesn't veer too far from the expected, it is still enjoyable.
