Always good deals on clams. Bought 1/4 bushel (100 clams) for $35. When they are in season this is the place to get bay scallops. Bring em home and freeze them. They are the best! Excellent Seafood! We came here on a recommendation - bay scallops were in season and we had a craving! Place is a small take out restaurant attached to a fish market. There are a few tables to eat in, the scallops were awesome decently priced and served with potatoes and veggies. Bring a bottle of white from one of the wineries nearby. read more

I've been here a few times. My parents however go all the time. They have a huge variety of fresh seafood. They also have a section of the building with food to go (freshly made). Fresh Fish!!! This place has got it all. This place has carries the absolutely the best tasting fish and the staff really knows there stuff. The inventory changed regularly so you might have to check different times if you are looking for a specific fish. In addition, if you don't feel like cooking that they have a restaurant right there it is a simple looking room with high tables and no waiter service but the food is cooked right. The only downfall is fish is not cheap but that is not Braun's if I had it my way I would eat fish from them about 4 nights a week. read more

Awesome fish market/restaurant with good food. We stopped by here after one of the winery's recommended that we eat here and I'm so glad that we did. The place is what we imagined, a family run restaurant with great seafood for a great price. We had a lobster platter that comes with some clams and mussels, and also ordered the clam chowder and fried oysters. Everything was delicious, and the price unbeatable. A group of friends and I (6 people) decided to come here for dinner after wine tasting. I think we came right when the dinner peeps were starting to stroll in since the line starting to really form while we were waiting for our food. Speaking of, we were all waiting on line to order and pay separately. The girl told me that if we place our order all together we'll get the food at once but can pay separately. When my name was called (after about an hour), She rang me up for everything but asked her if we could all pay separately (since that's what she said). She gave me TUDE because the owner had to void everything out and she had to ring everything in per person. I didn't mind if we ordered food separately but that's what you said little girl. Don't give me attitude about something you said! As for the food, it's not amazing. My husband had the new england clam chowda (which was really good) and the lobster bake (how can you really go wrong with steaming everything?) which was a bit bland...especially the corn. Lobster salad was excellent but the roll could have been better. I prefer a lobster roll on brioche or some sort of light buttery and eggy roll. This was a huge multigrain doughy disk that completely masked the delicate flavor of the lobster salad. Update the roll and this will be the best lobster roll on the island. Seriously. Good. The waitstaff was sweet. Prices were really decent. At the restaurant I had the grilled shrimp BLT wrap with avocado and chipotle/lime mayo. Freaking seriously good. Tons of huge shrimp, tons of bacon, the mayo wasn't spicy or overpowering at all. Fries were decent. At the seafood store, things were very very overpriced. I just got a quart of the New England clam chowder to bring to a BBQ I was going to that afternoon. It was really good. Hearty, tons of clam and potato, the soup was nice and thick. I stumbled upon this place after leaving Coffee Pot Cellars but I was starving and I am glad that I did. The coconut shrimp rolls and Coconut Shrimp plain was very good. My fiancé and I were in the mood for some delicious seafood, we found this place online. I had the southwestern shrimp BLT wrap and she had the lobster avocado wrap. They were both AWESOME! The size of wrap isn't going to be chipotle size but the flavors make up for it. We sat outside enjoyed the weather and people watched the locals which made it even nicer. The menu is extensive. It's usually a great go to and we usually love the food. The last visit we were disappointed as there was no oil or swaoning on the potatoes or vegetables and the fish was over cooked. I used to love this place. I really did. My husband and I came here frequently over the past few years. I used to order the fried shrimp basket until they mistakenly gave me fried scallops once, and I liked them so much that I ordered that from now on. Their New England clam chowder was always very good but some of their bisques have been thin and lacking in texture. The reason why we stopped going there was their consistency with some of the dishes my husband ordered. Sometimes it was that they gave a smaller piece of fish on his sandwiches, but other times the quality of the fish was severely lacking. Manager doesn't seem to want to please her customers, just justify what they served us. Ordered 2 wraps to go and a salad. We asked how long a wait, there was no one else in the place. We were told 10 minutes. Probably waited 25 minutes. Watched them make the wraps and get confused so they dumped one on the table and wiped off the wrap with a paper towel and start over. The guy making the wrap tasted some of the cooked food left behind after he made the wrap. As I was leaving he asked if I needed a fork for my food which included cole slaw and potato salad. Your great reviews brought us in. The staff since they didn't recognize us gave us no help or direction as to how to order or navigate their three different menus. A woman literally just pointed to a rack where a to go menu was. I then found the lunch in a basket menu, then found the specials board. We asked what the most popular orders were, and after some prompting were guided to the crab cakes and fried combo. My wife was set on the whole lobster. I asked for a sushi menu, and was told there was none until they got someone new to roll...okay...? Then the clam chowder appetizer came...delicious! Then I noticed Fox news was on the TV. And loud enough that I could hear it. Awesome! No freaking PC here! Crabcakes and fried belly clams... "so good" ... and hot. Fried combo...Great!... Lobster... Great. This place has some of the best seafood I have had the pleasure of having in New York. Please note if you are going here it is next door to Peconic Bay Winery and has indoor and outdoor seating. If you are visiting Northfork, this is a great place to pick up some seafood to go to bring back to your house or to have a picnic and eat. We tried the clam chowder (fantastic), a lobster meat sandwich (very good), some scallops, fish and chips, and some clam strips (awesome). Good job Braun! ;) read more

Had take-out for lunch there one day over Labor Day weekend. They were very busy and it took a while for the food preparation, but it was worth the wait. They have tables setup under a tent, so there's indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of parking on site. read more

i would've given 4 stars last year, but my second round of this place would be a 3 star experience. manhattan clam chowder-good peel and eat shrimp--last year delicious; this year the shrimp were very small and not flavored as nicely lobster clam bake--the lobster was good (of course) but there wasn't much meat in there to split with 2 people, and the mussels and clams were just ehh OK. buffalo shrimp- fried, frozen shrimp poppers. i expected a little more from a fish market (ie fresh shrimp battered) so was disappointed go here for lunch, even if you're looking for a casual dinner, i'd find somewhere else. you'll be more satisfied. read more

We have bought fish here when visiting the North Fork. It was a rainy day so we decided to get some clam chowder. The clam chowder was very watery. However, It did warm us up. As another reader wrote, staff eats while cooking your food. It really is a turnoff. I really hope the owners read this. So I give the fish market a 4/5 and the restaurant a 2. I adore this place and would eat here every day if I could. The seafood is nothing less than sensational...so fresh and well prepared. Lately the sesame crusted salmon with a ginger sauce has been my favorite...the salmon is never overcooked and is served with fresh vegetables and potatoes. Their wraps are always interesting (grilled shrimp with apples, walnuts and goat cheese or warm lobster with avocado are two of my favorites). And of course the soups are delicious. This is a very unpretentious place...in the summer you can sit at picnic tables on the front lawn...so don't come looking for fancy. I had been going to the market for years, but refuse to continue. Last summer we went to buy little neck clams to cook at home. The smallest clams on display were cherrystones; too large for our purpose. When I asked the girl for little necks she told me "this is what a little neck is now". I was born on a Tuesday, but not last Tuesday. We left and went to the Southhold Fish Market and bought all the Little Necks we needed from their huge display. I haven't been back to Braun's since, even though it's a five minute ride from my home as opposed to 15 minutes to Southold. While waiting for my food, an obvious regular came by to get some food. He was very chatty with the cooks and popped behind the line to talk. At one point, he needed some extra spice out of a huge container of Old Bay. He tried to shake some onto his platter but was clearly worried that too much would come out. So he stuck his fingers into the spice container (he so he could sprinkle it onto his platter. He did it twice, in full view of the cooks and I think the head woman saw him as well. The moral of the story: It a 4 star place, given the portions and taste, but part of that special seasoning is a fat guy's unwashed pudgy fingers mixed in with your spice! read more

We had an amazing meal tonight from Braun to Go in Cutchogue. My wife had the Grilled Scottish Salmon with a cucumber dill sauce and enjoyed every bite. I had the Buffalo Shrimp Wrap which was overflowing with Shrimp. Amazing value! Also we tried the Head On Key West Shrimp. They were PINK and the size of a jumbo Shrimp. They cooked them up with some old bay. They were amazingly sweet. Maybe the best Shrimp I have had in years. If you have never had them you really need to try them out. They taste soooo fresh. It was a great tasting dinner and very convenient! Can't wait to try those Shrimp on the BBQ this summer! read more

It has been a while since I was in Braun to Go. since the spring time for a good lunch on my vacation with my family. There was 2 people working up at the counter an older boy, and a woman who I believe was the manager. The man took my order and was very polite and explained the menu, wraps and all the other options to me. I ended up ordering a wrap as did my wife. We were both blown away by how delicious they both were!! And at a very affordable cost.
