Not good. We originally planned to try another AYCE Korean Bbq spot on Valentine's Day, however, the wait was 2+ hours there. We called over here and there was no wait. A few people had the same thought as we did and it ended up being a 10 minute wait. We were seated in a booth and the table cannot be moved. The booth itself can be moved, assuming there is room. There are the little steam vents above the grill, which I appreciate, although you're going to smell like Korean bbq regardless. We ordered prime short rib, rice, mushrooms, corn cheese and green onion salad to start. We wanted onions but they were all out at 9PM- 3 hours before they close. The waitress was scarce to come by throughout the evening; after she dropped off our food she didn't come by to light our grill; a different waiter noticed we were just sitting around. At no point did she offer to swap out our grill. Most traditional Korean banchan like kimchi, radishes, or cucumbers are not served here. The green onion salad was good. House salad, okay at best and not dressed well. The Japchae was clumpy, like it had been sitting around. The steamed egg was oddly sweet. The corn cheese was probably one of the best dishes of the evening and that's literally just corn and cheese. The cut/quality of the beef was poor compared to other K bbq spots. The ribeye was paper thin. The "spicy" pork bulgogi was also oddly sweet. The prime short rib was probably best. I had no desire to try other cuts of meat. We constantly chose galbi, bulgolgi and pork belly. We also ordered radish paper, rice paper and lettuce. And also ordered a salad. Ice cream is also included in the price but they only had vanilla and strawberry in a separate freezer. Nothing special for the ice creams. Brave Korean BBQ 1743 E Broadway Tempe, 85282 This is a somewhat new All You Can Eat (AYCE) Korean BBQ which is kind of deceiving to the newcomer. It doesn't look big on the outside, but is very big on the inside and is still in the process of constructing private dining rooms. The menu is extensive and depending on the time of day and the day and your appetite and your wallet it can go from inexpensive to bring your banker with you! Companion and I arrived for the AYCE Happy Hour which is only available Monday thru Thursday. You cook your own food at the table and pick from a large selection of proteins and veggies. We selected pork belly, marinated steak, and garlic chicken as our proteins and white onion, zucchini, king oyster mushroom and button mushroom. We also selected shrimp tempura and fried rice. In addition to all of this, they also supplied 6 types of Banchan (side dishes). As you can see, you get a lot of food for the money. They instruct you in the art of cutting (with scissors) and cooking the food, and it's quite easy. Suffice it to say, we were stuffed and then they brought out complimentary ice cream! At $47.90 for dinner this was a bargain. Sanitation was excellent as was the service. Our wait person kept checking on us and when we ran out of kimchi promptly brought us another much bigger serving. 5 stars Highly recommended read more

Health Hazard, Zero Accountability - NEVER AGAIN This used to be our family's favorite KBBQ spot, but after tonight we will never set foot in here again and neither should you. While grilling our beef bulgogi at the table, we found a long red hair cooked right into the meat. A few minutes earlier, one of our sodas arrived with another long hair in the ice. The server offered to replace the bulgogi (too late--we were already repulsed), but the manager never once came over, never apologized, and never offered any kind of compensation. Then we opened the chopsticks... every single pair was covered in thick black and green mold (see photo). These weren't just dirty--they were actively growing mold. To add insult to injury, they charged full adult price for our 7- and 9-year-old children simply because they're "tall." No kids pricing, no mercy. Then they auto-added a 20% gratuity with zero warning and refused to remove it or discount the bill despite the hair, the mold, and the overall disgusting experience. No manager visit, no comped items, no adjustment to the check--nothing. Just a shrug and a forced tip for serving us contaminated food and moldy utensils. This place is a legitimate health hazard. I had never been to a Korean Barbecue restaurant before. We were seated in a booth and asked for actual menus rather than using our phones to get a digital menu. I don't recall any background music. A little bit of music is appreciated to help set the mood. We asked how things worked and were told about their 3 price levels. I had never been there before so I was confused about how that worked. The person I was with said to get the regular, and then ordered a bunch of food. I agreed with those choices and they were brought out. We had to cook everything ourselves, and there was a lack of sauces and spices to cook with. I realized later that there was even a time limit on how long we could stay (90 minutes). On top of that, the gas burner we had to cook with was not turned up very much, and it took a while to cook things. I wish they had told me more about how the process worked from the beginning. If I hadn't been with someone who had eaten there before, I would have been very lost regarding what to order and how to order it. I also wish the gas burner had a manual adjustment we could use to cook things faster or slower. I feel like we wasted a lot of time waiting for the food to cook as slowly as it did. Also, for some reason, they provided scissors but not knives to cut the food with. It felt very awkward cutting steak and chicken with scissors rather than a knife. The meat and vegetable quality appeared to be good. However, there was a seaweed-like taste to a lot of the food, even non-seafood items. Overall, this place seemed kind of expensive when you consider that we had to do all the cooking ourselves, with little to no instructions on how to do so from the staff. The only difference is that the regular doesn't include B1. prime new york steak, B2. short ribs, B3. ribeye steak, B4. prime short rib (limited 1/person). We forgot to ask about the difference between ALL of the menus, but Christine D.'s 5/22/25 review seems to have screenshots that delineate it all very well. The 2 of us girls ordered 2 rounds of R5. LA galbi, L10. bulgogi, and L11. beef belly and were stuffed! Absolutely no complaints about the meat's portions, marinade, or quality especially relative to the price. Honestly the best KBBQ in Arizona! Walked in on a Sunday for lunch and I was so happy there was no wait time. We got sat immediately and served immediately as well. Loved the quick service and attention to our table even tho they got super busy as soon as we got sat. Now the reason I say this is the best KBBQ in Arizona is due to the quality of meat that I've tasted. Everything was divine. Not a single bad cut of meat and we tried a lot of them. Of course all the meats in marinades are the best but even the unseasoned meats, are just so good they don't need seasoning. I asked for extra kimchi and pickled radishes on the side and they brought me a full bowl. I love my meat with a little side of pickled anything and this kimchi really hit the spot. First off, this is our favorite KBBQ spot, we tend to come here often. However, today may have changed that. Please take into account that leaving a bad review genuinely upsets me. After eating our meals I had noticed a giant bug in my drink and brought it to the waitresses attention. Before I could take a photo, the drink was taken. She apologized, and took my drink immediately. In great faith, I assumed that some type of discount or voucher would be provided, however that was not the case. Mind you, during this service, we were very patient with her as she had forgotten our food at one point then eventually brought it. Once we establish that the bug was in my drink, she had taken it and inspected it right away, came back and told me that there was no management present but they let them know (via text) and that they needed to wait for a response from their management, in the mean time letting me know that if we wanted to wait for a response from management we could or the best she could do was only take care of our drinks. We responded that we would wait for a response from management. Eventually, she let me know that management would only take care of our drinks, not the individual meal or any type of reimbursement/voucher. Not sure if I'm crazy, but a discount or voucher is the bare minimum an establishment could do in the case of having a disgusting bug in anyone's drink. I was told that they could not help me, provide any type of reimbursement/voucher and I still needed to pay the bill of $94. Sadly, we paid the bill and went about our business. However, we will not be returning. So, please check your drinks or food before consuming, if you find something they won't accommodate you at all. And NO MANAGER or MANAGEMENT IS PRESENT! read more

Came here for Thanksgiving dinner with family who came into town to visit! Orders of meat were decently portioned, the appetizers are also AYCE - but are smaller portions for you to try more. Our favorite appetizers were corn cheese, gyoza, and jap chae. Almost every major KBBQ place no longer gives rice paper as an option as a side, but Brave had rice paper, radish paper, AND lettuce wraps! We ordered at least 5-6 rounds of the shaved pork belly, brisket, and beef belly. Also had some thick pork belly, galbi and beef tongue. Quality of the meat was surprisingly high! The other surprise was that there was AYCE ice cream - both hard ice cream and soft serve. I also was so happy that they had fans over each grill - so you don't smell like meat and smoke too much! The serving utensils are insufficient nearly impossible to get your food off the cooking surface. No utensils to scoop the seasoning. The scissors were beyond dull. Three Stars is a very Generous Rating, 2.5 is not an option so I rounded up 'cause math. 5 or more people auto 20% tip added. Came here for lunch service with my husband. Upon arrival, there weren't a lot of customers and assumed that would be good for us. Unfortunately, we had to flag down the waitstaff in our section. Our grill ended getting pretty burnt while we waited for someone to do grill change and my husband had to turn the heat down. The meats are pretty good, I think it depends on how you cook them and they came out really good for us. The only downfall was the amount of banchan on the initial order and how dry the rice is. Not the best kbbq place in town. Although their price is a little more affordable and the menu seems to have more meat selection, like lamb, that's where the pros end. Everything else is a con. Quality and flavor is poor. Not sure how you mess up meat since we're the ones cooking it. Maybe it's not fresh, but the meat didn't taste like meat. It had no flavor, no juice. The meats with marinade also were bland. The worst one was the steak. It was full of tendons and fat so half of the meat felt inedible because I couldn't even chew thought it. The side dishes were better than any of the meat we got. They also had an ice cream machine for dessert, but the chocolate side was broken and the vanilla side was atrocious. Came out like shaved ice and tasted like artificial sweetener, no flavor. Was easily the worse soft serve I ever had. The service was also slow, which was surprising because there were only four groups in the whole space. With the wide selection of options for AYCE KBBQ, Brave cannot compete. But the only thing confusing about it is that, its raw meat and we don't know what it looks like so of course I grabbed the wrong one from the robot from the other table lol whoever ordered those meats were delicious and sorry about that. Brave was a solid mid tier KBBQ joint. First impressions were that it was clean, our waitress was very friendly, and I enjoyed that the seats had room and everything was well spaced out. The meat (pretty much all the cuts of steak and tried the octopus) were very clean and tasted good. No complaints here. The banchan tasted good, the fish cakes a bit toothsome but good flavor. The sides were hit and miss, the steam egg was not like I was used to, not enough liquid and was more of a quiche like texture. Jap chae was bland but okay. I was disappointed with the corn cheese, it was straight up corn with cheap melted cheese with no cheese pull I feel like they forgot to add a touch of sugar or seasoning and used the wrong cheese. (It was kindve like plastic cheese). The egg roll and gyoza had an overwhelming punch of black pepper. Also the ramen is nothing to write home about. Overall experience was okay. The food and dishes took forever to come out in between, but there's no time limit. No refillable drinks, just the water. You can get a tea/soda but again no refills. Inside it's a little bit dark, but it's not as loud as other KBBQ places. The music is actually quite nice. The meat quality here is superb - tender, cooks easily, well seasoned. They'll bring out any Banchans, side vegetables, ramen, and rice you want! The meat comes out in reasonable portions, good for two to try. The side dishes/salads come out in gigantic portions. All of it you cook on the grill yourself. Utensils, napkins, grilling tools are all on the table. BEST SERVER EVER - Cass! She was so attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. It's hands-down one of the best-priced KBBQ joints I've ever been to, but holy hell is it inconsistent. Sometimes you'll show up and get top-tier meat, solid service, and an all-around great time. Other times? Some friends and I are big foodies so we decided here- couple of us were newbs to the kbb experience and all of us never have been to Brave - very brave of us all! The staff were so kind and patient as they came around regularly to take down our orders, and remind us what different meats are. It was a Monday night so it was fairly dead -- probably why we had most excellent service. There are two different menu levels - the more expensive has better/more expensive meats. We decided on the $28 option to keep things simple. As one who isn't too keen on spicy, I definitely enjoyed some of the spicy options! The side options were a good variety- but definitely the star is the meat! It was fun to cook with friends and have a hand in our meal. One guy kept regularly coming around to change the grill plates as we used them up. And we got to "meet" their robot staff who comes around to cleanup plates! Been seeing the Instagram ads so I wanted to support this newly opened establishment and give it a try. Came in on a Sat. evening at 7:30 for a party of 2 - no wait. In fact, we were there for about 2 hours and plenty of tables still open so really good for getting in. Pretty basic/clean decor with good lighting. Nothing too crazy for a kbbq place which means the emphasis has to be on the food. They have 2 menus one with normal selection and a premium option for some nicer cuts. I don't recall what was on the premium, but we tried the regular menu which had a good selection. Service was quick, and the waitress was quick and very nice. She wasn't Korean but knew the Korean names for the dishes which was cool as I noticed a lot of the other customers were speaking Korean. There were some things we had to ask twice for before getting like some sauces and stuff but great service. Onto the food. Not going to lie it was pretty standard, and the meat quality wasn't the best in my opinion. The easiest one to note for that would be the flat iron steak which was much tougher than what I've gotten at Manna. With that being said, I think they're the only kbbq place that offers multiple wrap options to put the meat etc into so bonus points. The soups were a little saltier for our liking. Overall not a bad spot - and they're just getting started. They have a lunch special which is the regular menu more or less for $20 which is a heat deal. Glad to support a newly opened business.
