I get that the coronavirus is a big thing but from one local business to another I will not support such a shallow company. When times are tough our own community doesn't look out for one another. We are a local business of brea and needed glass cut for our job, we've used them plenty of times and we were told "no were not serving retail" but there obviously still working. Very sad! read more

While re-doing the kitchen, BF accidently broke the glass pane on one of the kitchen cabinets so off we went to Brea Glass and Mirror. The showroom is on the small size and it was kind of dusty but I saw a patterned glass that I liked so we went ahead and just bought it. After paying, one of the guys in the store cut it to the size we wanted. I can't remember the exact measurement of the glass (I think it was about 8.5 inch x 30 inch) but we paid less than $30 for it. Not sure that is expensive or not but we're very happy with our purchase. Oh, and we were out of the store with our new patterned glass in 25 minutes. read more

Well, first time I went there it was during business hours (around 3:20 p.m.), and the place was closed. There was a sign on the door that said their hours were 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. I thought it was odd, but I said to myself I will try again another day. The next time I went there was 10:45 a.m. It was open but when I went inside no one greeted me. I had to call out, and some guy who was apparently eating something backed up his chair and asked If he could help me (without getting out of the chair). I told him I was looking for a full length mirror and someone to install it. He told me that he was too busy these days and that they weren't really doing installs, but that he could order the mirror if I wanted to. I told him I could get it at Home Depot if all I wanted was a mirror but I was looking particularly for an install. He told me he just wasn't doing installs at the moment and went back to eating. I was disturbed that I wasted my time to go there twice just to be rebuffed for business. I called another company and got courteous service, a reasonable price quote over the phone, and a professional install that took about 30 minutes to complete. This guy was really too busy for a 30-minute install? Needless to say I won't be calling on this company again. read more

Don't even bother going to Brea Glass if you're a consumer. They don't need your business. I walked in with one mirror that needed one straight cut and was told they were too busy to cut glass. I said I didn't need it right away and that they could take a few days if they wanted to. Nope. Too busy with commercial jobs. Me: "Ok then, can you recommend anyone who can cut this for me?" Sure, go ahead and use Brea Glass if: 1. You don't mind John interrupting you by taking telephone calls every time you start to say something; 2. You don't mind him finally telling you the item will be ready (and delivered) by the end of the week; 3. You don't mind that when you call about the item a week-and-a-half later, his lame double-talk convinces you that he forgot to order it; 4. You don't mind that his new delivery date figures out to be approximately a month after you first entered the store; 5. You don't mind him telling you that there's now a $40 delivery charge (which in my case was a two-mile trip!) Soooo. Go ahead...if you can ever find them open; their posted closing time is 2 o'clock every afternoon! But don 't expect any communication; they never answered any one of my three telephone calls. They apparently read "caller" and decide not to answer. And a P.S.: Our item was a glass top for our patio table. Final cost: $305. (A very nice young man installed it and it looked very nice.) And now a P.P.S.: The first time we used it (few days later), I sat a drink down on it -- and it shattered in a zillion pieces. In looking at the bill, it appears that the tempered glass was only 3/16th of an inch thick, whereas we asked for quarter-inch or 3/8ths. I just called another glass company and they said 3/16ths of an inch is totally inadequate for a span of almost five feet. And even another P.S.: Didn't want the stress (I'm now 79) and bullshit double talk from John, so I went hunting for a legit glass company. Found one in Orange, where the owner looked at the ring and the massive use of silicone, and opined that they had mis-measured and tried to glue everything together -- resulting in a torqued piece of glass that would explode with the first bit of weight (my glass of mango juice) placed upon it! It cost me $50 to have everything cleaned up -- you can't imagine the mess made by thousands of pieces of glass everywhere! My first thought was to dump the big bucket of glass sheds on Brea Glass' entry door, but decided it just wasn't worth it to sink to their level of dishonesty. So...Now I've spent more than $600 for a glass tabletop. I ordered and paid for 3 large mirrors over the phone and was told to call in a couple of days to see if they are in. (Don't businesses usually call you when an order comes in. 0h Well, I called in the morning of the day they were to come in and I was told by a pleasant young women they are in. I told her that I would be in between 2 and 3 to pick them up. She said just call before you come and I said OK. A man called me a little later and asked me what time I was picking them up. He seemed put out when I said 2:30 to 3pm. I had no idea they closed at three and no one told me. I called at 2:45 to say we were on our way and the message machine was on. I drove over and before 3pm they were closed! They never called me or anything. This is such poor customer service! First Time-Last Time! Stopped by to order a small piece of glass for a tabletop. Told that the glass would be ordered in a day or so (funny, thought that is what I was doing then). Told to call back the following week to check on status of the order (they were not going to call me???). Called two days in a row to check status and was told on the second call that the glass was in and ready for pick-up however they were closing at 1pm. So I arrived there at 12:25 pm...they were closed and a post it note was in the front door stating that they would return at 12:50 pm. I decided to call them and got a recording that they were busy helping other customers (who?...no one was there). The lady I spoke to that morning never did show up but at 1:20 pm an installation crew did and helped me pick up the order. I would speculate that this is a family business without a business plan going out of business. Stopped by looking to purchase some Aluminum "C"Channel for a project, I noticed they had a pile of it laying in plain sight right there on the floor, when I asked John he said that they never use it, then brushed me off with a lame excuse about taking commercial jobs only.
