A little uneven in terms of the browning on one side vs. the other, but otherwise good. Will most likely not attempt to "save time/money" next time in the Borgata. Attempted this place twice. The first time, our food took 45 minutes, came out burnt and cold (not sure how that happens). Our meal was returned to the kitchen and comped. We left. Decided to give a second try when saw it was EMPTY later in the weekend, figured it must be faster this time. It was dead! FAIL! This is a solid spot to grab a bite to eat no matter what time it is! Open 24 hours inside the Borgata Hotel. Lines move quick and you can get food to stay or to go. If you decide to sit and eat they bring the food right to you. Pretty big menu. Tons of different sandwiches and they also sell all different types of desserts! I decided to get a BLT with American Cheese. Food came out quick. Bread was perfectly toasted and the bacon was perfection! Nice and crispy and there was a ton of it!!! Very tasty and delicious. Another great part? It was only $7 and change. Which is an amazing price inside the Borgata for a filling sandwich. They take cash, debit and credit cards here. Lady at the register was very nice. I asked for water thinking she was going to give me a bottle. But then she recommended I get a cup of water because it did not cost anything. Came with ice and a lid. Umm yes please! I have to say that Bread & Butter was one of my "go-to" places to eat during my stay at the Borgata. Open 24 hours, the café specializes in classic breakfast items and offers an assortment of pastries and drinks. Orders are taken at the counter with a single queue. Tables are readily available and are first-come first-serve. My friends and I ordered waffles ($8), a fruit tart ($6.50), and a taylor ham and egg sandwich ($7). Prices were slightly high, but as expected within a casino. While the line moved fairly quickly around 2AM, it did take about 25 minutes for us to get our food. What I found unique about the café was that they offered maple syrup with their waffles in tiny glass jars (54.7 ml). Very cute! The waffles were quite delicious and came with a side of strawberries and whipped cream. The waffles had a soft texture with just a slight crisp to the exterior. The strawberries and whipped cream complemented the waffles well. Both the strawberries and the fruit tart tasted very fresh. The fruit tart included a variety of fruits (berries, kiwi, and melons) enclosed within a crunchy pastry crust. Sweet cream was found below the fruit and provided a great balance to the dessert. The taylor ham and egg sandwich consisted of 2 scrambled eggs and 2 slices of taylor ham placed in between a soft Kaiser roll. The sandwich was good, but not distinctive. I believe toasting the roll (or even the ham) may have expanded on the overall flavors. Eaten here many times and usually a positive experience. Last visit was very disappointing. No line at 5pm on a Wednesday. Are they open? Yes, they are. Our TO GO order was a large coffee, bottle soda, pre-made AC Italian Sub, Ruben sandwich. Issues: 1. Large coffee seems to have shrunk to a smaller size. 2. The Italian Sub was missing half the meat that previously would be on the sub and the price continues to go up. Yes, I understand inflation and supply delivery price increases. Really, $15 for 6 inches of seeded sub roll and 5 slices of various deli meats and a heaping mess of dressing that totally made the bread wet. 3. The Ruben. How do I say this, it was horrible. In the past it was prepared perfect within a few minutes and served. This trip it took the cook almost 20 minutes. I had enough time to visit the bathroom around the corner and return and it still was not done. My wife waited and waited and waited, she finished her coffee and was still waiting. The cook(I'm not going to call her a chef) put the meat on the grill and never moved the meat as if to give the appearance that she was warming it. This was a to go order and we had clear view of her just standing there and talking and talking. Again, this is a $15 sandwich and wasn't worth $2. It was served on white bread and usually is on rye. The sandwich was swimming in dressing. These were two of the worst sandwiches we have ever had at Bread & Butter. Yeah we could have complained and gotten zero satisfaction. We visit Borgata often. Next visit we will LOOK to see who is preparing the food. Most likely we will NOT eat here. Most likely we will go to the casinos in PA. Very disappointing that our usual place for a meal has gone from a 5 Star to a zero. Now we know why there was no line, the food preparation and presentation is TERRIBLE and very unappetizing. Based on my order more like 2.5 stars. The menu here has lots of good looking options on it.. maybe I ordered wrong because the French toast was just not good. It looked good when I got it, but it lacked flavor and tasted slightly like lemon even though lemon isn't in the description. Cinnamon was in the description but tasted nothing like it. My mom ordered eggs and bacon and said it was good, I tried the bacon and it was flavorful and crisp. I also liked that they give you pure maple syrup for the French toast. I got a cappuccino and my mom got a regular coffee, nothing to write home about. The guy at the counter who took our order was disinterested and wiped his nose with his arm while taking our order. The Man reported that his sandwich was excellent and that he will surely eat here again. The frozen hot chocolate is not too surprising or special--it tasted like icy chocolate milk. I snagged a peanut butter cookie for the ride home as well. It was very soft and loaded with peanut butter chips. Our cashier was accommodating to Squeaker. He gave us hot water to warm up her milk and a bowl to mash up her banana. She sat in her stroller to eat lunch (no highchairs here), and it was a bit of a tight squeeze. I really do not get this process, the place is dead empty, why can't I just wait at the counter, it's 2 grilled cheese sandwiches with 2 Snapple's. The confusing part is also figuring out when to tip; when you charge it at the counter and there is a line for the tip, when the person brings your order, at the end on top of the tray when you leave the table (after eating here a couple times, I'm still not sure). The food itself is really good, maybe it tasted better because it was one of the first meals at the Borgata that was less than 100 bucks. The grilled cheese sandwich made with Gruyere my favorite! The Cuban sandwich and the Ruben were also pretty good but I suggest sticking with their specialty of various grilled cheese sandwiches or breakfast egg sandwiches. I was curious about the stuffed cinnamon bun french toast ($11) served with seasonal berries, whipped cream. Out of curiosity, I asked what the french toast was stuffed with and surprisingly the answer was nothing. I ordered it anyway because it was sweet and seemed different from the normal french toast. I waited about ten minutes for my to-go order but there were no utensils in my bag, which was a little frustrating now that I had to comb around the Borgata for a fork. When I finally dug into my meal, I was underwhelmed. It was not french toast, just a cinnamon bun plus the whipped cream was runny. I get it, people make mistakes but it just seemed like the cashier really just didn't give a care. Didn't even make eye contact with me either even after she missed my whole order? Whatever. They also advertise that they sell Mighty Leaf Tea.. I asked for the Organic Mint Tea and instead got this from-Chinatown Orange Pekoe Tea. Don't advertise that you sell Mighty Leaf and give me something like that. At least tell me you ran out? In the end, maybe it really was the crappy cashier that didn't care. Even the desserts like Maple Creme Brulee and Tiramisu are made just right without being too rich. When you get to the cashier you tell him what you want and he will give you a # which the waiter will come you with what you ordered.
