The chicken was cooked perfectly and the Bahn mi preparation added a crunch and flavor. But the real surprise and star was the Beet salad. I generally hate beets, but my wife had to keep me from eating her salad (there was plenty don't worry). The beets mixed with blood orange, goat feta, and peppery arugula works so well. Great menu. Gentlemen at the counter was very helpful I had the Vietnamese Chicken Sandwich which was really good, just need a little more flavoring. Wife had the Moroccan Chicken Salad which she liked. The food was served quickly and hot. The young lady serving us might have been having an off day, as customer service was mediocre. Didn't ask if we needed anything (salt, seasoning, etc.) and never checked on us during the meal. Only came by when we were done to remove the plates. Not sure if that is the most appetizing way to drop something off, it really grossed us out. But, she was right. By the time it got to the table, the sandwich was so wet the bun was falling apart and the breading wasn't attached to the chicken, but rather just soggy and sitting in the bun. They were not busy at all, so I'm not sure what happened. Both the chicken and tuna sandwiches were sickly sweet and had little flavor other than sugar. Very disappointed. read more

Pure HOG SLOP! The Naughty Fries were a horrible, soggy, confused melange of thick fries covered in jalepenos, sausage and a couple other things topped with feta cheese. A confused combination of foods sitting in a layer of pickle juice. The walleye sandwich is really a soggy ground meat patty (like a salmon patty) that is more filler than meat topped with mayo and flesh colored vegetable shavings (onion?). The bun was great! This was a great spot. We stopped here on our way to the badlands on a cross country trip, in dire need of some healthy food. The Moroccan chicken salad was tasty, and the award winning beer also hit the spot. I ordered a fish cake banh mi, which had an authentically made cake with succulent fish that had a nearly crablike texture. It was delicious, but the only problem was that it was between two buns. A banh mi must be between a baguette, it's all about getting that crunch before you hit the filling, and the buns just don't do that. Aside from the bread, it had all the other banh mi accoutrements. However, I still thoroughly enjoyed my order despite this glaring mis-classification. I would be very curious to try this sandwich as an actual banh mi, but until then it should probably be reclassed as a burger. read more

It was my first time here. I ordered the salmon burger. It came with potato chips. The flavor was ok but there was so little salmon on the burger they should have called it a veggie burger. Apparel! I got a fun t-shirt AND a hoodie. But the menu! Chef Jordan's food is out of sight! Sweet, Salty, Sour, Umami, great balance. Fabulous start! The patio in front of the Larson Lofts is a perfect setting for food made for good weather & good company. We started with the German Potato Salad and the croquettes - YUM. The dressing on the potato salad is a good balance of vinegar, mustard (more on this later) and herbs. The bacon is a much needed smoked component, a counterpoint to that luscious dressing. The croquettes are a fantastically crunchy-crispy fried outside and a juicy, tender porky inside. These come with a dollop of a tangy mustard sauce (told you!) that balances things out. I would like more of this sauce on the side tho! Deep-dive into the brisket sandwich & the Porkstrami. Both meats were given time & attention. Both were obviously handled with care and slowly cooked. Both are going to be eaten in mass quantities by THIS guy. More than often, brisket in a sandwich is risky, if I bite into the layers, I often come back with the entire hunk of meat and then I look like a 3 year old, trying to navigate the mess. NOT THIS TIME!! The brisket melts. If you're wondering about the BBQ sauce, it's Carolina style which is mustard based (yep, more mustard!!). It's VERY well balanced with sweet and tang. Two words that you will forever remember: Tempura Bacon. Do not miss this sandwich!!! Don't be shy, it's Super Delicious! The Porkstrami has its foundation on a really great dark rye. Again, I can't stress how moist & delicious this meat is, you will need to try it to taste the magnificence. Kraut & dressing (yep, you guessed it, a mustard infused mayo) round out another fabulous sandwich that is balanced, substantial and messy - the 3 prerequisites for a good strami-style sandwich. They were out of the Vietnamese Chicken sandy but, you are next on my list and obviously a signature dish. The fennel slaw: fresh and luscious fennel is matched with red cabbage, skinny-dipping in a light cream. The orange & fennel duo in this salad brings summer & sunshine to your mouth. Truly refreshing to see a dish this well put together in Sioux Falls. Pro Tip: Any sandwich can be made as a salad. We got the brisket as a salad too and the portion of brisket was generous and the BBQ sauce translates quite well as a dressing, all thanks to that mouth watering, sweet and tangy mustard. Now. I'm reserving the 5th star due to the fries. They're pretty normal crinkle cut. Not bad, but they don't show up on my radar. The sauce that came with it is interesting and has great potential. I would like more heat in the sauce and I'll challenge the kitchen to redesign the fries. There are more than a few spots in town with great fries from sweet potato to duck-fat fried so, get that fry-game up! A good start to the beer selection but, the patio and the summer feeling was begging for Lagunitas! Back to the mustard. I LOVE that Bread & Circus is not afraid of mustard. It's flipped & remixed in so many inspired ways that even I, as a mustard lover am blown away at the versatility and range the chef has when balancing it with other flavors and skillfully contrasting the deep, rich, juicy meats. There's more to be had here. The menu is well thought out and executed. Grab some friends, get a patio bench and some drinks. Enjoy our new delicious spot for warm weather yum. FIX YOUR ONLINE ORDERING SYSTEM Using my android phone, I ordered from their website online system at 4:43pm and it says they need 30 minutes to make the order so I selected 5:45pm pick up. Arrived 5:50pm order not ready yet, need 10 more minutes. More checking and after searching around, order was mysteriously not in the system even though I received a confirmation email and text messages saying the order was received at 4:43pm. After more searching, the order was found. I'm not from Sioux Falls, I was passing through going home timing the pick up on my commute, I don't have another 30 minutes to wait for the food to be made. Reviews and pictures looked great. The wife and I were walking from our hotel up to the restaurant with the idea that we would check out the falls near by. This is our first time in Sioux Falls and so far have had a nice trip. We ordered the porkstrami and a side of fries and a beer. Dear lord that was probably the best Rubin I've ever had. ..and I've had a lot of them. If I was staying longer I would go back again just for that. There are other things to try but I'm not sure I could miss a chance at having it again. We found this place rated number one on Yelp. We can't figure out why because we ordered the Vietnamese chicken and the pulled pork. The breading didn't stick to the chicken the whole sandwich fell apart. The bread was soggy from the moment it arrived. The pulled pork was leaking water and was also soaking wet. I also ordered the house salad and it came with four slices of radish and big thin slices of kale. I do not recommend this place at all. We love eating out and trying new places and we are feeling very disappointed and kind of angry bc the reviews were so high. read more
