Awkward location next to industrial buildings and had lock box pickup much like Amazon boxes, it's not a real kitchen.

Ordered online via Yelp and drove to location to pickup lunch all to find kitchen closed. They are out of business but still took online orders. Had to call Grubhub to get Yelp to refund us but didn't have enough time to pickup any other items for lunch - went hungry & disappointed.

i am shocked to see what I found in the chicken salad I ordered from bread apeel - an ear plug / small rubber thing . it was not only gross to find that ear plug in your food but also it is a potentially chocking hazard. i am planning to report about this to local governing bodies to look do the audit at their facility because seems like they have poor food manufacturing practices and bad sanitation.

You can say Bread Apeel banh mi is aesthetically appealing as it is delicious. It is hands down one of the best banh mi i ever had. Fresh baked bread with a nice crispy crust and a fluffy core. I first had their sandwich at a farmers market. Random right? Well i am not from the area but i still think about this banh mi. recently visited and to my surprise they now have a brick and mortar and of course i have to grab me some pork belly banh mi to eat and a few to take home.

A close friend of mine recently just opened up this amazing banh mi shop in Palo alto. He was kind enough to drop off some sandwiches to try to some coworkers and I at the hospital we work at. Let me first start off by saying that the first look of the sandwich looked amazing! I ordered the steak sandwich and it had a more than generous amount of thin sliced grilled steak which looked so appetizing. The first bite that I took got me hooked! All of the ingredients including the vegetables and secret sauce meshed so well together. The bread wasn't too overwhelming compared to other banh mi sandwiches I've tried. It was soft and complemented each bite without my taste buds having to search for the other ingredients. The steak was well marinated and grilled to perfection; it was tender and super easy to eat. The vegetables tasted fresh and had the perfect crunch to add to the tenderness of the steak. The bread is a special homemade Demi baguette and the vegetables are locally sourced so you can expect great quality and freshness with each bite. Do yourself a huge favor and try it out! I am definitely looking forward to trying what else breadapeel has to offer including their salads and other sandwiches. The restaurant offers a very unique style of options to banh mi and I'm all for it!! For your convenience, I've added their website so that you can make an order for pickup! They currently are not offering walk in orders, so order ahead! Anywhooo, do I recommend this new banh mi shop? Answer? Helllls yes! https://www.breadapeel.com

ABOUT THE BUSINESS: This place is amazing!! I have been going to the Sunday market for years and have had the banh mi's there - all of them, including their vegie one (introduced couple of years ago?) I love them all, tbh. It's hard to choose, sometimes I just get 2 (lunch, dinner and Monday's lunch - I know, it's better fresh but oh well!) A co-worker told me about their new offerings during the week, so I was thrilled to not have to wait until Sunday and my Monday lunch can now be freshly made. :D Under this business name, they offer the same banh mi menu AND a salad menu - for pickup (in the back of the nails salon on California - look for the curbside pickup sign, it's a little hidden) or for delivery. Today, I ordered a pork belly salad and an iced matcha for pickup. This was their first opening week. My order was on time and it was a pleasant experience. ABOUT THE FOOD: The salad was scrrrumptious! The ingredients integrated well, just the right amount of everything (their signature pork belly, crunchy sliced apple, candied nuts, mustard dressing). I am super picky about texture and have to say I was pleased. This was a great way to end a busy week, and especially with the yummy matcha!

Banh mi with a twist! I've never had banh mi like this but I like it! The bread is crispy and freshly baked! There's also different kinds of filling available that's a different spin on traditional banh mi. I ordered the classic, pork belly and steak and they were yummy! I also asked for extra veggies on the side because I love pickled carrots and daikons.

Can you believe they are opened 6 days a week now !? We usually come to the farmers market on California Ave for their yummy Banh Mi sandwiches every Sunday! I'm so excited they've added salads as an option. The ingredients from the salad are fresh, made to order! Their Banh Mi sandwiches are one of THE best sandwiches Ive tasted here in the Bay Area ! Ordering online through their website was easy to do. They were fast and on time with my order. Curb side pick up was available! My kids will be thrilled having their sandwiches more than once of week! Congrats to Bread Apeel!

OMG this is hands down the best Bahnmi sandwiches ever! The chicken bahnmi is amazing! So much flavor in the meat and the bread is perfect!' I pretty much try to come here every weekend at the Farmers Market and get a sandwich! They never disappoint!

    Porchetta/Pork Belly Bánh Mi ($10.00)- 4/5 stars

I love banh mi, and had to give Bread Apeel a try with all the rave reviews! I placed my order around 1pm on a Friday, and it was about a 25 minute wait at the time. They have very detailed instructions for pick up BEHIND La Jolie Nail Spa, so make sure you drive into the parking lot and look for their sign that is taped to the door. You definitely have to keep an eye out for it, but I liked that it's curbside pickup and you don't even need to get out of your car. I tried their Porchetta (Pork Belly) Bánh Mi ($10.00, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=GLuHd0e5imbwRGONouJW5A&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg), which I thought was really good! Their version of banh mi is only very loosely based on a traditional banh mi, but I thought all the ingredients worked well together and everything was very fresh. However, I was not a big fan of their bread, since it was more ciabatta style versus baguette. The pickled veggies also could've been tangier, but I loved how much customization you could add to your sandwich (I got mine with extra cilantro, jalapenos and aioli). I would come back if I were in the area to try their steak sandwich.

The menu here is so unique. I have tried three banh mi's - classic, pork belly and tri tip steak - and all of them were delicious but my favorite would have to be the steak. Instead of the typical mayonnaise, the banh mi's have garlic aioli sauce and it's so good! The baguette is also different from regular banh mi's but I like it, they're crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I really want to come back to try their salads.

While having pho at Pho Nam, I considered grabbing a few sandwiches there to bring back to the hotel. I had a hot date with Netflix later and absolutely no intention of going out again. But not far away is Cam Hung, a tiny Vietnamese sandwich shop specializing in bánh mì. It's cheap, and it's in the kind of quiet Sunnyvale strip mall where parking is not an act of war. It shares the plaza with a Chinese herbalist and acupuncturist. On a Sunday afternoon, the place was practically deserted. Perfect. I walked in and immediately realized this was much more than a sandwich counter. The tiny shop is crammed with prepared foods, spring rolls, steamed buns, Vietnamese desserts, dried snacks, candy and all kinds of things I couldn't identify but probably wanted. The main attraction, however, is the bánh mì. These are big sandwiches, and even the most expensive ones top out at around $9. I got a Chinese barbecue pork and a ham and pork roll to take back to the hotel, along with a bag of roasted candied garlic and chile peanuts. I came dangerously close to buying the peanut brittle too, but the sugar would have nailed me. Even I have limits.

I am one of those people who thinks that just about every meal needs animal protein or it won't be satisfying. Well, Happy Flower proved me wrong because I came away with a very happy and full stomach and I did not even miss the meat! We ordered 8 different dishes to share family style, and I was especially pleased with the all seasons sampler and vegan fried rolls appetizers, as well as the pad Thai, salted fish fried rice, hainan chicken rice, tomato fish, and happy clay pot entrees. Each dish was quite large such that all 9 of us were able to try generous portions of each dish. And then we got two servings of the mango sticky rice to share and the mango was amazingly sweet! I did not try their boba drinks, but a few of my friends ordered drinks and enjoyed them. Their boba drinks are sized quite large as well. I will say, the meat doesn't necessarily taste like the meat it purports to imitate, but the textures for the fake chicken and fish are pretty spot on! Service was friendly and helpful and they delivered the dishes at a good pace. The inside isn't fancy, but it's clean and well lit and spacious. I wish I had known about this hidden gem sooner, but they had a good clip of takeout orders and families coming in for dinner. Parking is also plentiful and easy in their large attached lot. I will be back!

Crispy, and there is salt and black pepper in it, but overall it doesn't have much flavor outside of the sauce. Lemongrass fish lunch plate modified to have soy beef (you can switch out the protein): The broccoli itself itself was just steamed with no flavoring, so that was underwhelming. But the lemongrass beef is pretty good, firm and chewy not spicy. One of the others in my party got the eastern duck soup, which has a stronger soup flavor, you can taste the anise. It also has shiitake mushrooms. It came with veggie drumsticks, on an actual stick, but just takes like soy protein, doesn't really taste like duck. I tried a bit of Cali pho too, which was mild but pleasant, it has a ton of vegetables. Overall I'd give it more of a 3.5/5, there were certainly some items that could've used better seasoning/flavoring, but I do appreciate the amount of options that are suitable for vegetarians and actually being able to enjoy noodle soups that would usually have been meat-based. They do have outdoor tables and at the time when I had gone, no one else was sitting outside.
