This is probably my favorite pho place in the bay! The broths are sooo tasty. I usually get beef pho, but most recently I got the combination chicken pho and it was surprisingly sooo good. It tasted so homey. Surprisingly, I liked their chicken breast more than the thigh when I generally like thigh better. It was very tender and tasty. The thigh wasn't as meat-y. Unprofessional behavior and terrible customer service from the manager!! His name was Kelvin. I had a deeply disappointing experience here today. While eating, a bit of sauce accidentally spilled on the table. When I politely asked for a little more sauce, the employee walked away with a visibly annoyed and dirty look. What shocked me even more was when they brought the sauce back. The person handed it over and rudely lectured me, saying, "We have to clean our tables, so be careful and don't spill it again from now on." To my absolute astonishment, I later found out that this rude individual was actually the manager. Speaking to a paying customer in such a condescending and patronizing manner is completely unacceptable. A simple accident with sauce should never warrant a lecture and attitude from the management. Came by the other night for Bun Bo Hue and it was a decent experience. Ordered online from their website and the portal turned out to be a Door Dash interface, which has a ~$1 surcharge over prices in-store. My order was ready upon arrival. Parking was available in the private lot. Dining was indoors exclusively. My bun bo hue was gigantic and could easily feed two. The beef short rib was gigantic and even half was too much for one person. There were a few pieces of meatloaf in addition to a gigantic portion of bun bo hue noodles. The booths in the dining area reminded me of a diner. Nothing fancy, but well-kept by the staff. *** O U R P I C K S *** HA NOI SPECIAL GRILLED PORK VERMICELLI (BUN CHA HA NOI) ~ The meat is quite salty since it was sitting in a sauce, but my friend enjoyed her dish with the noodles and vegetables to balance the flavors. But from the looks of the dish, not much meat on the plate. 3.5/5 GRILLED PORK & PORK EGG ROLL VERMICELLI ~ This is my go-to dish when I'm eating Vietnamese. The pork wasn't really salty or as flavorful as I had expected. Pretty average compared to other eateries with the same dish. I forgot to tell them not to include raw bean sprouts, so when I put the sprouts aside, it filled 1/4 of my bowl. 3.5/5 COMBINATION BEEF PHO ~ My guy ordered this and said the broth was bland compared to other Vietnamese eateries. Not much in the bowl. He went home and made a sandwich. 3/5 HALF HAINANESE CHICKEN AND CHICKEN RICE ~ Our friend ordered this dish; he left more than 1/2 of the chicken on his plate. He said it was dry, and the skin wasn't at all crispy because they didn't blanch it in ice water to give that crispy texture for Hainanese Chicken. The rice wasn't flavorful either. He left dissatisfied and hungry. 2/5 PANDAN WAFFLES ~ comp dessert after our meal. This was lightly sweetened, crispy, and chewy. Actually very good. 4/5 Hit or miss with some of the dishes, though it seemed more misses than hits. I was told the San Jose location is better. The girl serving was super helpful, her name was Joyce. She was pretty attentive to whatever I needed by refilling my water consistently, gave good recommendations, and brought me whatever I asked for.
