Have been for lunch several times. It's just ok, nothing to rave about. It is also spendy for what you get. Had Roasted Tomato soup the other day and it lacked flavor. Hot Italian Sandwich was good, but again, nothing really stands out. I got to go for Dinner and try some different stuff. They have a grilled cheese night which looks good. Nice place, clean and friendly service. Lot of lunch competition and I just think other places have better food for more reasonable prices. Friends and I ate here the weekend of the 4th and no doubt we will be coming back. The food was spectacular. We had a big group and ordered almost every app on the menu and there was nothing left. Followed that up with a pork chop and potatoes which were cooked to perfection and gone faster than the apps. Highly recommend the corpse reviver as well. One of the better gin drinks I've had. We ordered the onion purses, bread boards and another forgotten small plate. We then ordered the hanger steak which was tiny but good. We left lacking and felt a little robbed. 2 drinks 3 small plates and an entree were still hungry. We went to another restaurant and split an entree afterward. Maybe we were starving from our trip to the wineries. I would recommend this place for drinks and snacks but for a actual meal... I'd say take a pass. read more

This place was an absolute gem of a find! We were road tripping back towards Colorado from Bay City and needed a rest before Chicago. Yelp reviews brought us to Bread+Bar and the reviews were dead on. Modernish decor with attention to details is the first impression on the inside. Cool art made out of cassette tapes for instance and Edison Bulbs in bathroom are just a few examples. We arrived before the 5 pm full menu was open. Tapas and drinks were available and let me tell you we were not disappointed. The meat and cheese plate and a selection of breads and toppings (cant remember what they were called) were surprisingly large and fed the two of us adequately. Not only that, they we're brilliantly presented and the flavors extraordinary. Savory olives and sauces, high quality cheeses and salted meats along with perfectly smoked whitefish and homemade breads all packed into appetizers...outstanding! I ate at the BREADBAR this past Friday evening. I thought the food was pretty good and the service definitely attentive. They seem to like cannelloni beans and found them on many items. Not a plus for me. I did think it was odd that when I told the server that I did not want them on the plate, that I was not offered another starch or more of the tiny stalks of broccolini. The desserts that come from Bit of Swiss were almost worth putting up with the noise. I had Strawberry Shortcake with real homemade shortcake. Wonderful. My friend had a pick lemonade cake, which was also tasty. I wish I could give the place four stars, but the noise level really takes away from the enjoyment of eating there. It was a struggle to conduct a conversation with the person sitting across a small table. The owners need to do something about softening the sound. It was a real struggle and gave me a headache. I will probably go back because the food was fine. But I think next time it will be for a very early lunch. read more

My fiance and I were in town for a wedding and wanted a quick place to grab a bite to eat before checking into our hotel. We yelped places (as we normally do when in a city we've never been to) and I am so happy we chose this restaurant. Everything was terrific, the service, the meal, the drinks, the atmosphere. Refreshingly awesome restaurant in BH! I think we've found our spot for dining when we're in town for the Iron Man. Loved the french onion purses! The scallops were piping hot and not overdone--a rare balance for scallops. Got the pink-lemonade cake as recommended and it was a real treat. Everything was very delicious. Atmosphere was very relaxing and enjoyable. They were slammed that day to the racers in town and a classic car show but besides being out of a few items, you would have never known. With the exception of the potato croquets and strawberry shortbread, the dishes we had were only half-way dialed in (e.g., hot chicken but with cold soba noodles, perfectly braised scallops drowning in an overly oniony brown sauce with 6 (!) peas, etc.). We found this place through Yelp and weren't disappointed. The atmosphere is very nice, modern but relaxed. Staff is friendly and helpful. It wasn't very crowded on a Thur evening, but that wasn't a problem. Homemade bread is excellent. Nanna's meatballs tasty with flavorful marinara. Arugula salad with Parmesan perfect light salad. Halibut and risotto well prepared. We ended our meal with a yummy warm chocolate chip brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. Sadly, we were just passing through so I don't think we'll have the opportunity to be back, but if we are in the area again, we'll find our way back here. read more

I am very disappointed in this restaurant and will never go back. I am not sure if they have a different menu for lunch than for dinner, as after reading the other reviews I did not see any of the items that were mentioned on the menu. I think I get out quite a bit, but I did not know what a lot of the items were on the menu. It would have been nice if there was a little explanation under the item to say what it was.... I ordered coffee and no one offered me a second cup. The waittress told us that each cup has to be brewed separately. Guess it was too much to ask for another cup. I left and had to stop to get something to eat as I was still hungry. Very disappointed ..... read more
