Yes!! Again, I just had to have a 17 1/2 from the Bread Basket!! BUT.... Today, I learned something new!!! No, not that the potato salad is always, Extra yummy!! It still is 50/50!! BUT....never, ever noticed this before today,,,,,,,I always order the $9.0plus 17 1/2, and can never even eat more than 1/2 of the sandwich. New information is that, they also sell the same sandwich for $7.0ish in a smaller size!! That is still too much!! All of there sandwich's come in small, regular and large. Never really, paid that much attention to the menu. I can order my favorite sandwich there in a bit smaller size, at much less the price!! And, still have a 1/2 left over! Therefore, the biggest, or should I say, Smallest!! Bang for a buck, is to order the same sandwich in size small!! I haven't been to this location in over a year and wow has it gone downhill!! Me and hubby got our fav, United meat....the pastrami was dry and the wrong color and the corned beef was MIA!!! And they had the nerve to have raised their prices!! I called to complain and they said they went down on the amount of meat and went up on the price and business has never been better...WELL BLIND PEOPLE WITHOUT TASTEBUDS must be eating there because that was straight garbage!!! They do have really good corned beef, but I know a few places w/ really good corned beef..... About 2 months back, I went in w/ my son at 8:45, unaware they were closing at 9....nonetheless, I had every right to be in there.....the lady at the register was nice, the big, dirty guy in the kitchen was rude as hell, telling us to hurrry up and order, he wasnt going to be there all night....yes they give you a big amount but you also pay a hefty price and for that nasty attitude from that nasty worker, I will NOT go back...I used to frequent them often....they lost my business because of this one incident and he was VERY RUDE, my kid and the cashier were embarrassed. read more

Stopped in because I am used to the Bread Basket on 10 Mile Rd. and Greenfield, but what a disappointment, it was filthy and I mean dirty-dirty-dirty. Sat at the counter, we were the only dine ins there and couldn't get waited on. Could it be that we were the only white ones in the restaurant? I hate to play the race card but it seems that blacks play it all of the time and get away with it, but that is beside the point of the filth. Evidently this is not affiliated with the Bread Basket on Greenfield because that one is clean, the service quick, and courteous. I've had Reuben sandwiches from San Franciso to Boston (but not New York). This is THE BEST. Period. Expensive? roughly $11 for a Reuben sandwich with 10oz. of the finest corned beef you've ever had. The prices go up, but the sandwiches stay the same. The pastrami receives equal praise. I've never had a bad experience here in 15 years. You'll never order a Reuben anywhere else. The food was great as always. Love there new dill pickles. The people working there were very polite and helpful. Love going there and having a sandwich. But I have not been there in two years and the place inside definitely need some redoing. Broken bar stools and the floor and counter looked bad. I hope the owner reads this. *** This review is for the B.B. Livonia location only...as I can't comment on the other locations. I haven't been to this location in over a year or two, and wow has it gone downhill!! My wife & I stopped in here, on the evening of 12/08/2016, to grab a quick bite to eat. We walked in, and almost walked out back out...but I had my heart set on Corned Beef sandwich, so we stayed. First of all...this restaurant is FILTHY! How this place ever passes any Health Dept. Inspections is beyond me?!? Maybe only by getting a "Freebie Lunch"...I don't know? Seriously though...it's in a need of a Major D&C...and a optional "Updating" would be a nice touch too. But that's beside the point. It's just a very dirty, grease covered establishment. So we sat at the counter and I ordered a #14 Corned Beef & Swiss on grilled rye. My wife ordered the same thing, only the "Lite" (smaller) version, also 1 order of fries that we split, and 2 cans of Faygo pop. That, in itself, was almost $28.00!! Both sandwiches arrived in a timely matter...and the gnat flies did too. We were forced to swat them away from us and our food, while we ate. Nice touch to a dirty diner experience! Neither sandwich was grilled...okay...just eat it, and don't dare send it back! Both sandwiches were not slices of corned beef at all. They were mere 'Bits & Pieces' of corned beef, compressed between rye bread slices, that were very stale. And the crust of the bread was so hard, dry & tough, that we couldn't even bite through it, let alone eat it. O.K., Maybe that's because we came in here in the evening, and not at Peak Lunchtime..I don't know? But the prices didn't change, to reflect the lower quality sandwiches either. The pickle wedges that were delivered with the sandwiches, had absolutely No Flavor! And my wife commented that they looked very old too. But I had 1 bite of a pickle, and left them alone. The wife wouldn't even try a bite, based on looks alone! The entire staff there at the Livonia location, looked like they could really careless of any customer service, product quality, and the cleanliness of anything!! The whole time we were there, they were loud & obnoxious...and very unprofessional. Sorry Bread Basket Deli...We won't be back anytime soon! You want to charge $12.00 for a deli sandwich...fine...make it worth while at least. Having been buying sandwiches from them for years, but prefer the one in Livonia or Oak Park. The Detroit locations is terrible on service, sandwiches and always seems to smell like week and funk. Might be the man in the lobby selling CD's. Any way the Livonia location has never let us done on service or sandwiches, just wish they would take some of the extra they charge for sandwiches and fix the place up. They finally got new registers, but the money could have went to better use on decor or updating. If people went off first appearances the would never get any business. Sandwiches are so big, so good and worth it, but updating is NEEDED. Would have given them 5 stars, but this place looks nasty, old and outdated. read more

Would have given 4 stars but I ordered one corned beef sandwich and one pastrami sandwich at 8 pm on Feb 13, 2018, while I was told the person i brought the corned beef sandwich for said it was good I had the pastrami it was just a sandwich made with the tiny pieces of scraps they put on the side during the course of the day while slicing meat to make sandwiches. They use the scrap peices to give customer they feel like giving that mess to which turned out to be me that is a shame it has gotten that tight that they would make a sandwich from scrap just to save some money or just being too cheap I would have paid more for the sandwich if they would have made one sliced off the brisket, but using scrap peices to make a sandwich that was just full of stringey fat and pumpkin seeds sizes peices of meat really I threw that mess straight in the garbage because it was too late to take that mess back keep doing that to people you will soon regret it read more

I had heard about this restaurant from my brother and I always wanted to go to it because i had never been to a great deli before. So one day i finally asked my mom if she wanted to go try this deli and she agreed. At first i thought it would be like a sit diwn restaurant but i was wrong. You can choose to sit at the counter or the one behind that. At first I thought we werent going to get a seat, but we luckily found one. My mom and I decided to get an 18, which is a pastrami, swiss, coleslaw, and russian dressing. When we got the sandwiches i nearly died they were HUGE! We knew automatically that me and my mom should have split one. It was perfect though. Everything about it, we didnt talk to eachother because it tasted so good. This place has been going downhill for years and that's sad because there really aren't any true delis left in the Detroit area anymore. Every time I go in there it seems dirtier and smellier, I've never seen the owner in there and I've probably been in there twenty times over the years it's really just a mass production operation pumping out as many sandwiches as possible without caring about what the establishment looks like, smells like, or the price you have to pay for the mediocre product.The floor and walls are so dirty there's no way they clean that every night properly,I'm surprised they haven't been shut down.I ordered a regular corn beef it was about ten bucks, it had way more bread than meat. I know, I know, you're asking yourself why does this guy keep going back there I would guess it's because I fantasize about the old days when you could get a big juicy corned beef sandwich and a nice big bowl of matzo ball soup for a fair price in a place that doesn't smell like the zoo, and I finally come to realize that's all it is is a fantasy! the Livonia bread basket says his 11.49 sandwich is 10 oz. it is really 5 to 6 oz. and does use the good corned which is call brisket every time, once in a while he pulls the switch and give the cheaper one which is bottom round. I know my corned beef I sold it for 20 years. I ordered 3 sandwich from there and 2 were brisket and 1 was bottom round which doesn't have much taste and the color is lighter. they advertise the reg. corned be 10oz. then it should be 10oz. after all he sells it at a premium price which I don't mind paying but give my what I am paying for.
