Bread + Salt is about to be one and it's amazing that we haven't been there already! A new(ish) hidden gem in Lakewood with a sister location in Frisco, this place was such a cool find. Love their vibe - it felt cool and mellow, but bright and minimal too. Lots of seating options, a community table and patio seating under wraps outside. Our waitress was amazing - and she and her counterpart were the only two ladies working on the busy weekend morning we visited. Despite having way too many tables to take care of, they both flew around the place with grace, with smiles and a cool temperament. A few things didn't go to plan for us, but with a more appropriately staffed house, these would likely resolve: lukewarm food, missing items and forgotten requests. Nothing too big that we didn't want to stay or some back. The food was overall really tasty, loved the locally made real maple syrup and jams and fresh ingredients. Big portions also. The smiles and fabulous attitudes? All with it. We'll be back!

Four years ago, I fell head over heels for the Frisco location of this gem where they equate bread with prosperity and salt with the spice of life! You'll never go hungry here! But let me tell you, there's a unique cuteness about the Lakewood spot that adds its own charm. While the food and ambiance is undeniably sweet. We had the Spanish Chorizo Scramble, and while it had great potential with its mix of scrambled eggs, onions, and Palacios chorizo, it felt a bit dry. The Challah French Toast, adorned with Palisade peaches and vanilla cinnamon batter, was as I remember it a showstopper before! Although the presentation was prettier over in Frisco. However, the bacon here was a standout--thick and mighty, just like in Frisco!

Love the ambiance of this location, felt like a cozy mountain diner. Our waitress was very kind and friendly. The food was alright, my salmon and eggs didn't have any hero flavor despite the large amount of dill in it. I was looking forward to trying their house made rustic bread but it was just a bit too dry for my liking.

The staff were friendly and the food was great. Nice spot to sit and get some work done and enjoy a good meal.

Bread & Salt offers a variety of breakfast options. The coffee was delicious. I ordered the 3+2+1 Challah French Toast. This is a simple breakfast with quality ingredients. I especially like that they serve real maple syrup and Colorado grown ingredients. During a weekday around 10:00 a.m. the place was not busy and service was great!

The restaurant is pretty spacious and simple on the inside, but they have a very interesting menu including duck. My Benedict was really good and the sauce was very flavorful, but the hashbrowns were rather bland. My husband said his chorizo was a little too cooked and dry, but over all it was pretty good.

The fresh potatoes and beets in the Summit Hash are perfectly cooked with a light, delicious layer of fresh cheese. The creamy pesto adds a bright, flavorful touch, and the bread feels like it's made with love--soft, fresh, and perfect for soaking up every bit. A simple yet delightful dish!

Holla challah French toast with apples!!!Thank you Bread and Salt for breaking up the bad trifecta of bad culinary experiences up and down Union Street! Another breakfast option besides Le Peep or Dennys! I've now been to this establishment three times since they opened a few weeks ago, and on the third time I ordered the breakfast burrito. As a former New Mexican I couldn't commit to making that choice right away because Hatch chile wasn't mentioned in the ingredients: Flour tortilla, scrambled eggs, black refried beans, onion, hash browns, choice of red chipotle or poblano green chile, queso fresco, crema mexicana, cilantro, add avocado. I opted for both chiles and was so pleased I could eat that breakfast burrito again for dinner right now

Very friendly and welcoming associates, super clean environment! Wow my mushroom Benedict was incredible!! Truffle oil and variety of mushrooms and fresh kale! They know how to make hash browns here without asking for "crispy please". Miranda our server was simply delightful and attentive!

The restaurant is super clean and modern. Our server was great and the food fantastic. I ordered a simple meal of two eggs over medium and bacon. Eggs were cooked perfect and the hashbrowns and bacon were great. A lot of food!! I would certainly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Suffice it to say, this place has ruined all other bakeries for us. The staff was extremely helpful in giving recommendations, and they did not disappoint. I got the cinnamon roll (of course), and a cheese danish, and my wife got their lemon & almond pastries. The price was extremely reasonable for what we were about to experience. Dear reader, these delectable delights were unlike anything we've ever tasted before. Perfectly buttery, flaky, warm, and full of flavor. It was all we could do not to make a scene at our table out of sheer culinary delight. We actually ended up going back to the counter for seconds. Now, days later, we're back in Michigan, sitting down with cinnamon rolls from our local bakery, and it's just... okay? "It's not Taste of Denmark..." I say, the light fading from my eyes. "Yeah..." my wife responds, despondent. So thank you, Taste of Denmark. You have set the bar too high, and now none shall ever compare. I hope you're happy. Unfortunately, one thing has been consistent all four times I've visited: the baristas are really not friendly. Every time I've gone, it feels like I'm a bother as a customer. Like, I've been excited when they get new menu items and when I ask questions, they seem like it's a huge inconvenience to answer. They don't make any conversation and legitimately, everyone I say thank you to (after placing my order, when grabbing my matcha today), they don't say "You're welcome" or engage with me any further. Today when I went to take my matcha to go, I said "Thank you!" super cheerfully, and the barista just walked away without saying anything. It's really a bummer to feel like my mere existence bothers them when I'm paying $10 (inducing tip) for a matcha. Speaking of cost. I do not have any problem spending $10 on a delicious specialty drink. I have my favorite matcha spots around town and GLADLY pay $10 for a well-crafted drink, even when my friends or coworkers give me a hard time about spending that much. Here at Onto, the drinks are good. But I do think they're a bit overpriced. For example, two of my favorite drink spots that I regularly go to make their drinks with fresh, house made purées. You can really taste the difference. At Onto, many of the flavored drinks I've gotten, I watch them make it and they are just made with Monin syrups. To me, I'd rather pay $10 for a drink that has fresh puree versus one I can get the flavoring at any big box store. Food: The first time I visited with my husband, we were really excited about the sandos. He ordered the chicken katsu and I ordered the eggs salad. My egg salad was shockingly bland, but nothing was really wrong with it. Fine to eat, would just prefer more seasoning. But my husband's sandwich was just all tendon. To the point where you couldn't finish the sandwich because it was just chewy tendon throughout. That was the only time we've ordered food, so I can't speak to other items. But I likely won't be getting a sando again. All in all, Onto has a great menu with lots of variety and fun flavors. I've enjoyed their hojicha and their black sesame matcha. Unfortunately, it's just not going to be my go-to due to me feeling like I'm bothering them every time I go. But if you're looking for a good drink and don't give much weight to customer service, Onto is certainly worth a try.
