    Just bought my first loaf!
    Gita r.

Gf sourdough bread????! Every part of my heart feels warm with love. I got my first loaf this weekend from a supermarket in SF. I was skeptical to spend almost $11 for a small loaf of bread, but given that I haven't had sourdough in almost 2years, I thought I would give it a try. Not sure if the price is completely right for it, but I did enjoy it. It doesn't taste exactly like the sourdough I grew up with, but it's pretty damn close. It really is a great alternative to not eating any sourdough at all. I plan on buying this again next time I come home to California with more recipes in mind so I can better utilize it. I think I just got excited to buy it, that I didn't have soups or deli meats to do anything with the bread. So happy to see the gf scene expand and not have a majority of it taste like cardboard.

Finally, gluten free bread that actually tastes like bread! I am so happy this place exists - and ship their bread throughout the US!

Seriously that good! My only complaint, like most, is that living in the east bay means getting it is a chore, but so worth it!

It's also one of those places that makes you want to stay. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and generous. Every time I come here, I tell myself I'll pace myself... and every time I fail because it's just that good. The burgers are loaded and perfectly balanced, the fries are always crisp (never soggy, which is rare), and everything tastes high-quality and made to order. You have to try the chicken and waffles. The waffle batter tastes homemade and the butter takes it to another level... it's one of those dishes you keep thinking about after. I'll even DoorDash it all the way to Jingletown. The patio setup is really well done... there's a mix of larger tables for groups and higher bar-style seating for smaller hangs. The wooden furniture and cushioned benches make it comfortable, and they've got heaters for colder days and umbrellas when it's sunny, so you can usually pick your ideal spot. You order at the window and then just hang out while you wait... it's a relaxed flow and the food comes out pretty quickly. The staff are always kind and welcoming, and the whole place has a relaxed, homey vibe with really good music. Highly recommend... just come hungry.

Cali Alley is one of those places I have looked at thousands of times when trying to figure out…read morewhat to order on Door Dash or Uber Eats. The food always looked really good, but for whatever reason I always ended up ordering from somewhere else. Well, I finally did it. I finally ordered from Cali Alley, and all I have to say is, why did I wait so darn long? Door Dash was having a 2-for-1 deal on the Cali Alley Burger, so I ordered one of those (and got another for free) , as well as on the small mac and cheese, so I ended up with two of those as well. I got fries as he side for the burgers and saved the second burger and mac and cheese for the next day. I also bought a small side of veggie fried rice for lunch later in the week. OK, let's start with the fries ... wow. Super crispy. Don't know what they do to them, but I think I almost ate all the fries that came with one of the burgers before I even touched the burger. The fries seemed to have a coating like some fries do to make them extra crispy on the outside. Whatever it was, it made them so good, I couldn't stop eating them. I was almost too full for the burger. But who are we kidding? If there is one thing I am good at, it is eating more than I should. The burger, which is described on Door Dash as "char grilled, fresh ground brisket and short rib burger, served on a toasted brioche fun with crisp lettuce, tomato onion marmalade and garlic aioli" was thick and incredibly flavorful. I couldn't stop eating that, either. It was that good. I ordered it medium, and it was pretty pink, but it was sooooooo flavorful, and all the toppings worked well together. I didn't get any cheese on it because I wanted to try to burger by itself and not mask it with cheese. I might try adding cheese next time, but honestly the burger is so good, I almost wouldn't want to cover up its flavor with cheese. Oh, I almost forgot. When you order on Door Dash, you can opt to have them include a small side of their chocolate-chipotle bbq sauce, and I highly recommend that you get it. It's a really interesting flavor and is good for dipping the fries in. I didn't try putting it on the burger, but that might be good, too. The mac and cheese was OK. It's important to note that I enjoyed the flavor but it is more of an eggy consistency than a saucy mac and cheese if that makes sense. It has a nice kick of black pepper, which I liked, though. The vegetarian fried rice was also fine but could have used a little salt. All that to say, don't be like me and procrastinate, get the Cali Alley Burger and fries ASAP.

There was no wait time and we were able to get a table. The server was very sweet. I am vegetarian and was looking for veg options. She went through the menu with me and helped me think through. I got the vegan spicy tomato pizza and my friend got the shakshouka. We also got some herbal tea to go on the side. The tea came out pretty quickly and tasted great. The food also came out pretty quickly. The presentation of the pizza was top notch and I could not wait to dig in. The portion size was adequate. The vegan cheese was yummy and the spice level of the pizza was just right. The pizza was packed with flavor and thin crust! My friend liked the shakshouka too. He said it was flavorful and tasted great! Over all, we loved this restaurant. The ambiance is very welcoming and they have farm to table concept. We shared a plate of the tossed green salad and crispy Brussels sprouts, in addition to two pizzas - Fun-Gi and the Spicy Tomato. The crispy Brussels sprouts stole the show - the deep-frying created a smoky flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture that was equally loved by vegetarians and non-vegetarians in the group. The tossed salad was decent; the lettuce was heavily coated with oily dressing, which I think could have used more acidity. The Fun-Gi pizza was our favorite of the two pies - the hint of truffle oil and rosemary took this mushroom pizza to the next level. I also loved the light and airy crust, which had the perfect amount of crispiness. I wasn't as much of a fan of the Spicy Tomato pizza; while I really liked the unexpected sweetness from the tapenade, the cashew cream drizzle seemed out-of-place. The ambiance of the restaurant was whimsical and warm, providing the perfect backdrop for my friends to linger over our meal. The outdoor seating also looked very charming, and I imagine it would be nice to dine here on a warm, summer evening.

The Sunday was busy and packed, we were first on the waiting list. The first available table for us was inside. Tables are spacious, made of wood, identical to the bench seating. The service was friendly, patient, attentive and thorough - reciting each order back to us to ensure accuracy. We were even asked if we had food allergies they should be aware of - incredibly thoughtful. Our coffee ($4) and hibiscus tea were refilled without ask, the wait for food was minimal. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes ($15) with a side of eggs. Classic 2 Eggs ($18) comes with two eggs your way, English muffin or sour dough toast with home fries, rice or tater tots. We had waited about 20-30 mins for a table of 2. We went back inside and there were some tables inside that were wrapping up their meal, but we were called and were given a table outside. My husband asked if we could wait for a table inside and the server said the wait would've been too long. Mind you it was raining, even if there is a covered awning, it was rather cold. About 2 mins later, after we were sat at our table, another group who was not waiting as long as we had, was told they'd be seated inside, just to give them a minute to clean the table. My husband wasn't happy. It is what it is, the place is small and they were just trying to do their best to accommodate the waitlist. Aside from that, service was great. Very nice servers. Food was quick to come to the table and it was piping hot. From where my husband was sitting he could see the owner (he verified it from a server) working hard in the kitchen! Food is worth the price. I wouldn't say it's outrageous pricing, as it's what you would find at other similar restaurants. If you compare this restaurant to Kitchen Story, I believe it out ranks. I had the spicy chicken Benedict, and the only complaint I have is there were too many green onions. That was my fault because I should have asked for it without. I love that you could get breakfast potatoes or tater tots. I obviously got the tater tots, which I did not regret! So crisp and delish! I also ordered the croffle! Never let anyone tell you ice cream isn't for breakfast because this place proves them wrong. Ugh, delish! I didn't eat any of the fruit but my husband said it was really fresh. My husband ordered the Sunday Scrambler and finished the entire plate before I had even finished half of my plate. Pretty sure he liked it, lol. Their coffee was perfect and super hot! The way it should be served. I saw a bunch of different drinks being served, which I look forward to trying over time. Bathroom, clean and didn't smell bad. I highly suggest this place if you're in the area.
