I was very excited to try this place I'd heard so much about. I went with the Southwest Chicken Zeppelin with Avocado Ranch (suggested dressing), Sour cream & onion chips and lemonade. The staff seemed like they were still learning how to do things, but we're at least friendly. So honestly, I wasn't very impressed with my sandwich. A Zepplin is a hollowed out baguette, filled with your choice of lettuce, mix-ins and meat. Mine tasted like baby food inside, just a weird flavor. Maybe it was the dressing? I'm not sure, but didn't enjoy it too much. Maybe they taste better with a lighter dressing... The bread was the best part of the meal. Spent about $13 on my meal. read more

Woah!! I stumbled upon this place by word of mouth from coworkers. They suggested going there for lunch. I heard "Bread" and I was in. The concept is salads that are chopped up and stuffed inside a baguette. I had the Plymouth Rock. This one in particular is turkey, cranberries, greens, beets, walnuts, and I had cranberry poppy seed dressing on top. It was so delicious! What a great place! I cannot wait until I go back so I can try more "zeppelins". It is a half a baguette but it is more than enough! Well worth it!! read more

this was my second time at this bread zeppelin location. my first time was great, it had good service, and good food. this time i went, the workers made me wait about 10min before i could actually even order my food. once i had ordered and they were putting in the sauce, i realized they had gotten my order wrong.. twice! they had to remake the salad and the bread was dropped out of the workers hands. i would go again to this location but i would say that the Plano location is by far the best. read more

We had never been to a Bread Zeppelin before, but we were very impressed! The staff is very friendly and walks you threw the menu and your options so you know what you are doing. You must try a Zeppelin, which is basically a crunchy piece of bread, hollowed out and stuffed with your choice of salad. I had the tejano caesar, and it was delicious! Love the franchise but this location needs work. Came here twice before to subpar service but decided to try it again. Two people running the front counter with a few more in back because i could hear them loudly talking. The two up front seemed focused purely on their station and thats it. No one was available to run the register so I got the joy of standing at it for a good 5 minutes. The assembler just kept lining up bowls and the chopper kept making salads while the register piled up. They both looked at us but neither moved or called for help. Worst experience I have ever had. I usually go to the irving location and it has been amazing and quick every time. I guess cause this location is new its different I would stay away till they train their people better or hire someone who isnt 16. I walked in no one was in front of me I was only person in line. After 2 mins of waiting for the girl at start point to look up from her phone I finally coughed causing her to look up and apologize. I ordered a build your own zeppelin, she said ok and started to prepare it I said I think your forgetting something she said OH let me put on gloves!!!! My ingredients were loaded roughly into the zeppelin causing the bread to rip almost completely down the side and he only loaded it half full, I had to ask to have him give me a new bread and to put more in it, then I waited 3 mins for the register girl to come out and help me while 5 people stood around, What should have taken maybe 5 mins from start to finish took almost 15!!! read more

My wife and I ate there last night. First off it takes way too long to get your food. We had the Zeppelin Cobb salad. This amounts to a salad sandwich. We were extremely disappointed. I absolutely love Bread Zeppelin! I've been waiting on this location to open for so long! This location is clean and comfortable with ample seating. The staff are very friendly and make pleasant conversation while preparing your amazing food! My personal favorite is the Tejano Caesar bowl--a spicy twist to a classic! Visit often, but for whatever reason this location has chosen to change their fried chicken extra add on option to about 4 pieces of popcorn chicken. They're still charging they same price however. Seems to be a cost cutting option especially when you're talking about little chunks of popcorn chicken. Come on Zeppelin, is it really worth changing your well known fried chicken for little pieces of cheap chunks of store bought popcorn chicken? Favorite lunch spot for everything from a healthy salad to a decadent sandwich! It's great to be able to order from scratch or to choose one of their menu offerings. Today, 1/4/17 was my first time to Bread Zeppelin. I was a little leery at first when they started piling everything into a large plastic bowl - I was wondering how in the world. was going to eat it. I got the Southwest Salad and substituted tortilla strips for tomatoes (it's $1.59 for each ingredient you add on top (the salad was $9.99 and would have been an extra $1.59 if I added anything). They took all the ingredients in the bowl and put it on a chopping block and cut it all up, mixed it all together and put it back in the plastic bowl. I really enjoyed my salad, however, I wish they had sturdier/nicer plastic forks as they felt flimsy/cheap. Also, the music was too loud which made it difficult to have a conversation. In addition, I wasn't a fan of the type of music they played, which I can't even explain ... at first it was western music my friend said her dad listened to, then it was hard, loud rock music and then it finally calmed down to a quieter song, then it went back to loud rock (that I've never heard before). I would like them to turn down the music some and pick something that would appeal to all ages. read more

Decided to try this out since it was a new concept to the salad industry. Glad I did! Depending on how hungry you are, you should do the zeppelin if you're sorta hungry and the salad if you're starving. It's a little weird how big of a difference the two options have. I tried the original zeppelin with a ceaser salad. Bread was delicious! Definitely better than your usual sub bread. The really cram as much food as possible into those things, so be prepared for a little mess. They have a great selection of toppings/dressings and keep the fresh everyday. Service is great but it can be really loud during peak times - you may need to yell your order! read more

What a cool concept! I wish we had this in LA! If you can't make up your mind about getting a salad or a sandwich, this is the perfect solution! Either create your own salad or get one of their signatures and turn it into a zeppelin, which turns that salad into a sandwich! Genius! I oftentimes find myself wanting more than a salad but not as heavy as a meat sandwich so this totally hit my spot! Their ingredients are fresh and they even give you the rest of the salad if there's any leftovers from the bread. I got their California Cobb salad and was able to make multiple substitutions since I'm not a bleu cheese or bacon fan. Yeah, that's right, you heard me, I'm in the 1% of the population that does not care for bacon. The staff was really friendly and did not pass any judgments for making these modifications. A true chopped salad well blended so a little something good in every bite! Yet the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced....or perhaps I really am invisible ?? Like others I placed an order ahead of time, called it in.....got there they had no clue. The guy I spoke with then suddenly remembered oh yeah he had forgot to actually take the order. So I put it down to working kinks out. Went in today and it started ok...until time to pay. The woman working the register wouldn't even acknowledge me....she was so consumed with another customer....who had kindly asked me to go ahead as her brother finished assisting her. Now I wouldn't expect you to stop caring for one to take care of me, but you can smile say I will be without you in a moment. Yet she just acted as if I wasted there. It was clear the siblings were visiting and not checking out and yet still I was ignored. I finally had to ask her to look my way and check me out. Came home bought a mezzaluna knife on Amazon, 19.98. Will chop my own salads, thank you. Do yourself a favour follow my lead......Salata....Bottle Cap Express even ....great salads get them to go and go home chop your own salad and enjoy. read more

I have been to Bread Zeppelin twice. Once at the Dallas location, and once at Southlake. And both times I have been treated like sh*t by the employees. This last time I went in at 8:20 (40 minutes before closing) that night and the employees were already closing. They had taken their aprons off, washed all dishes, and were cleaning tables. I walked in the empty restaurant past 3 employees cleaning and they glanced at me and my 3 friends and looked away. Listen, I understand working is tiring and it was 8pm and they wanna go home rather than feed four 18 year old girls. I understand. Even after we APOLOGIZED for coming in late and making them put their stuff back on (40 MINUTES BEFORE ACTUAL CLOSING TIME) they proceeded to treat us like garbage. They were throwing utensils on the counters, throwing bread down, not looking at us in the eyes, ROLLING THEIR EYES, muttering under their breath, looking at their coworkers and laughing at us, and disregarding our questions (it was 2 of my friends first times there). We were almost done at the assembly line (if that's what you would call it) and were going to pay when 4 adults walked in the doors also wanting to order. The employees treated them as if they were royalty. WITH US RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM. They were smiling, asking them about their days, and giving them the service we should've received. My friends and I payed and left. We felt so unwanted by the employees we ate outside in the 96 degree heat. When eating our Zeppelins we realized that our salads were half the size we were used to. The employees only carved out about 2/3 of the loaf and gave us hardly any salad. I can say I am extremely disappointed and will not be returning. read more

This is one of the best places I have ever been and probably the best worker there is a guy named Tim. Every time I come in he is always with a smile or working on something . He Chops my salad so nice making sure all of it chopped and he always remembers what I like and it makes me feel at home and welcomed. Bread Zeppelin wouldn't be bread zeppelin without him and if all the employees were like him this would be the best eatery in southlake. Bread zeppelin is truly lucky to have him there. read more

This is such a cool place to eat! I love the concept of this restaurant and the food tastes amazing! I love being able to watch my salad being made in front of me! So I totally love Bread Zeppelin just really hate this location. I usually go to the Irving one and have a much better experience. The guy who fills the bowls with ingredients literally half hands the entire thing. Ask for 3 dollars worth of steak? get like barely a scoop full. Veggies, lettuce, and everything else was in much smaller portions. Irving loads their ingredients right and if you have extra salad they won't try stuffing it in to where it's no longer manageable, they simply put the rest of your salad on the side for you to have. I even watched them throw out a piece of lettuce from a ladies bowl because they thought it wouldn't fit. They need a lot more training and customer service skills. The guy who chopped my salad was nice and the cashier was nice. The rest were all rude. Just save yourself the trip and go to Irving. Better salad, better value, better customer service. read more

This was really tasty! I tried a zeppelin with an altered suggested salad. The bread is scrumptious! Light, fresh and crispy. The salad was fresh and flavorful. Service was friendly and speedy. It is a bit expensive for fast food. They also have soup and I would like to have tried it, but the zeppelin is too big for both. Wishing they had a combo meal. I will be back! UPDATED REVIEW: came on 9/23/17 and the place is really dirty. There were flies in the prep area. All the counters had old food on them even by the cash register. Floor was filthy as well as the beverage station. I won't be back anytime soon. read more
