Good value for drinks, seems like a local joint...people know each other. It's cool that they have board games. Good pour of vino too :)

I stopped into this bar on a Friday night after flying in and getting settled in my friends apartment. I was actually pretty pleased with the whole thing. There were plenty of beers on the list to be entertained for the evening. There were pool tables and other games set up which looked fun. The girl that took our drink orders was very sweet and attentive. If I lived in the area I would definitely check out their trivia nights. read more

The bouncer insulted me and degraded me and put his hands on me and the manager didn't do anything he didn't care. This is the worst establishment that I have seen and I'm surprised it's still running. The bouncers whole deal that he said was because I didn't apparently didn't say hi. That doesn't give you the right to touch anyone. read more

Pretty cool and intimate bar and billiard setting, has a dart board and Wii Sports area and happy hour prices are good. The drinks contain a good amount of alcohol and the food is admirable. Overall a nice neighborhood hang out place.... read more

Wanna get your pool on? This is a nice spot for pool and shuffle board with a cool retro yet modern 70s decor. Nice beer selection. Wasn't overly crowded. I loved being in bar where you aren't elbow to elbow with a dozen folks. Nice vibe. Our waitress was great. Really liked the music which ranged from a 70s feel to in the Thievery Corporation vein. read more

One of my favorite neighborhood bars. The best part: the games. They have shuffleboard, pool, darts, and lots of various board games. You have to pay for the shuffleboard, which is a pain (though not unusual for DC), but the silver lining is that there is not usually a wait to play. Randomly chose this spot after being scared away from H St Country Club (not "revitalized" area yet!) and Continental being closed (WTF?). Good times had by all - the guys played pool, we gals sat bar side and had a Scrabble match and then we all played shuffle board. Good sandwiches, eclectic bar staff, convenient location and worthy of going back sooner than later. Watching a crew of young guys still in their NYE blazers, at 2pm on New Years Day!, walk out of nearby strip club - priceless. read more

This place is awesome! A little hidden, as its downstairs and might be difficult to find when driving by, this place is worth finding! It has darts, pool, shuffleboard, and good beer. I've been to this place 3 times with either a friend of boyfriend. Each time has been lots of fun. If you want a non-pretentious place to go to and have a chill night in glover park. This is it. There sandwiches are okay. I had a BLT sandwich. It was...bland. Maybe there other sandwiches though have flavor. But the atmosphere is good. I also played a board game at the bar with my friend which was fun. They have pool and darts too. read more

Craft beers save this place- otherwise why go. They have an array of decent gaming options; darts, pool, shuffleboard. It's a good spot for high gravity beer options and that got it three stars. The food is something you get only after you are buzzed from the craft beers. If I wanted a sand which I'd walk across the street to subway and get one for 1/3 the cost. Breadsoda, don't know what it means, but we love it. Al of their soups are made in house, the clam chowder is great, the grilled cheese and tomato soup, amazing, great sandwiches, decent sized. The decor is classy. Good divey-ish bar. Happy hour merlot is recommended. read more

oh breadsoda you are SO inconvenient to get to. the pingpong and taco tuesday is a big hit though. bartenders are nice, beer selections is decent (bring back amstel light!) and the food is pretty standard mega kudos for the veggie options. perhaps it's location but the clientele is sort of douchie, esp on the weekends. it's pretty chill weekday and whenever our friend lulu hosts a party/get together it's surely going to be at breadsoda seeing as it's a stone's throw from her condo. so overall. good bartenders. fun things to do inside. cool ambiance. veggie options. outdoor seating. are great. and it's great to really understand "this is what it would have been like had 1. been a boy 2. gone to radford university and 3. joined a frat" feeling. read more

One of my favorite Glover Park bars for sure. They have an interesting menu, lots of deli type options but also some additional options. Love their veggie burger. They always have a great draft selection, unlike most places in the area. Taco Tuesday is always fun (best veggie tacos for sure) and everyone else seems to love the others. It's nice to have a place where you are remembered and can get a small neighborhood discount. read more

My friends and I come here pretty often (though it's waning down as summer's ending) to hang out. It's a casual place to come hang out with friends and grab drinks. On Tuesday nights, they have tacos (it's okay) and Ping Pong which is nice- often times, the two tables are dominated by regulars. The bartenders are really nice, so my friends like coming here. There's not many options in Glover Park, so this is definitely one of the better places. read more

This is a go-to place for me when I'm in the neighborhood. They have a great and rotating selection of draft beers and a lot of the staff are real beerhounds. I *love* their sandwiches, especially the BLTs (the best bacon ever) and their veggie burgers (and I don't like veggie burgers). The outside dining is lots of fun in good weather, and this is one of the few places in 2015 that's smoker friendly (I don't, but the boyfriend does). Service has always been really polite, although things can get busy here. Great, casual place to hang out, get some straight-up, cheap food, and drink the afternoon away. read more

Have been in here a handful of times and enjoyed myself each time. Last time was Taco Tuesdays, they do a 3 for $7 deal. I sat at the bar and got the chorizo ones and they were pretty tasty. The bartender forgot to put my order in and when he realized it he apologized and gave me a free beer (problem solved). I feel like their drink prices are pretty steep though. $5 for a PBR can (not a tallboy) in a neighborhood basement bar seems high to me even for DC. That being said, great atmosphere and attitude from the staff, will definitely be back. read more

I live near Glover Park and this is my spot of choice. The bartenders know how to pour a cocktail and they're friendly. The music is good whether the jukebox is playing or there's a DJ. Even though this is not the largest place in DC the space is laid out well and it's nice to be able to play pool, wii, or shuffleboard. Oh, and before I forget to mention, the food is pretty good here. The menu is simple and fairly inexpensive, but they do everything pretty well. I suggest trying one of the sandwiches. read more

Went for lunch with a friend on Saturday afternoon. We were attracted to the outdoor seating on a sunny day. The fact that the patio was empty at 1pm on a Saturday should have been our first clue that this place wasn't fabulous with a cult following. We perked up when we saw all the choices of sandwiches. Sourdough, rye, pumpernickel, all the sandwich breads you never see anywhere else were on offer! Although the service was quick and we were able to get a seat in the sunshine, our sandwiches were bland. I had the tomato, mozzarella and basil sandwich but the cheese was watery and left me thinking I had been cheated. My friend went with a stacked (turkey? ham? it tasted of nothing) on sourdough and was similarly disappointed. Also, she wished her bread had been toasted. Don't you always toast sourdough? Especially thick floppy slices that fall apart when you take a bite of an enormous sandwich? Pluses: Service, outdoor seating, menu choice Minuses: Ambiance (litter around the tables), bland food, poor value for money A good place to go if you aren't trying to impress anyone and just want a sandwich to go. read more
