This is it really big place. I really like the ambiance. The food was pricey but excellent. Service was great even though they were really busy. Long wait for the pool tables which I didn't like. My friend lives right across from the shopping center where Breakers is in so we've made our share of visits on the weekends. We go there mainly for the darts and the dancing. Music can be a hit or miss. We'll definitely keep going because of their convenient location. read more

Negative experience. If I could give a 0 I would. Manager Chris gave a complete sour taste in MY Mouth with this place. Complete negative over reaction to customer inquiry of pool table requirement and regulations. This manager spoke false accusations to our party, and blatantly for no reason insinuated in a comment "and if you don't pay your bill we can call the cops." I feel as if he profiled us and was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional as a "manager" in a leadership role. Very poor customer service experience. Terrible experience last night. Ordered 6 shots of Patron Silver and the bartender underpoured. She filled up the shaker with ice and did a 6 second pour, which is only 2 shots, then filled up 3 shot glasses. Did the same thing for the other 3. I'm pretty sure that's illegal, and unconscionable considering the cost of a single shot of Patron. I will never use that bartender again, and I'm fairly sure they are all underpouring whenever possible to save money. Someone from ABC should investigate this place. read more

Absolutely terrible! I went there wearing camo shorts (bought from Nordstrom's) and wasn't allowed entry while they let people in jorts and flip flops in. This is Herndon, VA... Not downtown DC. Hell... This ghetto place is in a run strip mall in a "clock tower" Straight out of 1989 but they don't "allow" someone wearing camo shorts in their fine dining establishment. Sorry Breakers, but this place is not happening. It's located on the 2nd floor of a shopping strip - elevator ride. Upon entering, you get a whiff of the smoking area, which is located on the 2nd floor of the establishment. This place is dead, the food was typically frozen bar food, the dance floor was a ghost town and the bartenders smile, but have no personalities. Eh. That's the word that truly sums up this place. I ordered hamburgers and fries for takout. On my burger I ordered lettuce and raw onions. When I got back and opened up my styrafoam container, I was upset to discover that there was more lettuce in the container and on the french fries than on the burger itself. Great establishment. Located on the top floor of the clock tower shopping center Herndon VA. Enter through the same entrance as golds gym and head upstairs using the elevator. As soon as you walk in you will notice a large dance floor area and a stage. They have some great music acts including Djs, Bands, karaoke and poker on some nights. The staff is great and always smiling :) they also have dart boards that are well taken care of. Pool tables are leveled and also well maintained. There is a smoking area upstairs. Happy hour specials are always a big hit. Stick around for the night life and you wont be disappointed. They have a large banquet room for hosting your office parties, birthday parties etc., Im a Huge Fan of this place and its staff and never had a bad experience. read more

Breakers, good drinks, and good pool, other then that.......skip it.

the other few times i went there it wasn't that bad. activities (pool tables, ect), open floor plan with 2 levels, food was typical bar food, and the bartenders where nice. Although those few times i went were pretty slow nights. However... I've been to many bars, and every time there was a cover and i needed to go in for a few minutes, it was either "no problem" or a funny test question, an empty threat if i didn't return, someone to follow me, or at most collateral(wallet, ID). They always understood. maybe you left something there, or want to know if your friends already went it, or if the place is worthy of the cover, or maybe you're a DD and need to get you fare. Phones don't work with drunk people and "live music". So, A friend decided to celebrate their birthday at breakers. I couldn't attend because i had work the next morning. Still, i wanted to give the gift that any broke person can afford; a free drink. i get to the bar and go up the elevate. Welp, "Live music" so as always there's a cover. I told the guys i just needed to buy a drink for someones birthday to which they said "you have to pay the cover". I asked if they could send over a server, hold my wallet, follow me, do something and they just refused. "5 bucks man." they refused to even get the manager. Then, i see a waitress walking by and tell her whats up and she tells me to follow her, we get to the computer when all of a sudden this bouncer guy sneaks up behind me, puts me in a some fancy UFC move and takes me to the elevator. An attempt at normal conversation with him was pointless. I hope the bartenders and servers there realize the front door is turning away business and taking away from their tips. I didn't have reservations But the Host ( A very Pretty girl ) made sure me and my party of 50 were well taken care of... Pretty good!!! Four of us headed there with low expectations from reading the reviews...since the smoking ban, came into effect 1 Dec.; we have been looking for a place where the men could still smoke their cigars...and yep, Breakers is the only place right now (Reston, Herndon) where it's still possible since they have 2 separate areas. The smoking section can best be described as their attic area, through the door and to the left upon entering. Once upstairs, there is a small bar, a sofa area and a couple tables spattered in front of the pool tables. Service: not good at first, but Ben came out to wait on us and he was FANTASTIC...very personable and attentive... Food: tried the chicken tenders and nachos and cheesy garlic bread,,,for a bar; not bad! Not great, but fine if you have a hankering for the munchies... Drinks: Selection was okay, make sure you scope out the downstairs bar first, as they have just started to use the bar (for the smokers) upstairs so it isn't stocked as well as it is downstairs. The place overall is LARGE, and there is alot to keep you occupied, a dance floor with stage for karaoke and bands, pool tables, video machines, darts, etc...but there weren't too many folks there so the place looked 90% empty downstairs...but still a good time and we will definitely be back quite often.... read more

Very large space. Decent bar food. A lot of pool tables, but many of them were worn bare. I can't imagine how much use they get, but for a place built around billiards, I would expect the tables to be better maintained. Overall a good experience. read more

My husband and I have been to Breakers Lounge in the clock tower shopping center in Herndon several times. Some nights they have karaoke on a large stage with all the flashing disco lights and the whole nine yards. It is a blast. Other nights they have poker tournaments and the winner wins $30 cash. It is free to play. They also have dart boards and pool tables. The upstairs is where the pool tables are but it is a smoking allowed area and can be nasty. Happy hour has $1.00 beers until 9:00 pm so you can't beat the price. All in all I like the place. read more

We went on a Tuesday night during happy hour because it is close to Dulles while my friend had a long layover. Lots of parking as this is in the middle of a shopping center. We took the the elevator up to the fourth floor as the sign posted. The elevator shook the entire way and made loud noises all the way like the Little Engine that Couldn't - so that was a scary start to this adventure. We got mild and thai sweet chili wings (my friend did not like hers but I thought the chili wings were great!) a Caesar wrap (she told me it was very dry) and a chicken house salad (good sized portion - it's a salad what else is there?). There were some drinks specials for HH. We never got around to playing pool but the tables were clean and well lit. There's a smoking section upstairs. I thought the music selection they were blasting was lame and they had the entire place pumping like it was a nightclub (we left by 9pm) but it was mostly empty save the regulars playing pool. Tuesday is advertised as Ladies Night but me, my friend and the girls that work there were it. The "regulars" are exactly as you'd expect for a pool hall - not the best looking crowd, plus a handful of serious drinkers. Service at the bar was pleasant and attentive. Bathrooms are cleanish and look very well used... For a pool hall, it's a better one. As a bar, I wouldn't visit again. As a nightclub I can't rate it although it's evident the owners REALLY want it to be one. ...so to end the night we didn't want to risk the elevators breaking down on us and we took the stairs 4 flights back down where a sign is posted there is 24 surveillance of the stairwell... And the stench and grime (some trash) was equivalent to any city parking lot stairwell with some DC back alley aromas mixed in... read more

My family decided to celebrate my Mom's birthday here. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND. We were charged for things we did not order like pitchers of drinks and extra gratuity on top of the 20% we paid. We had to pay before we received a break down of the costs and we were not refunded any money when we complained. We had to pay to use the pool tables and were not informed we had to pay for them. Also, we played a few times and were charged over $100. When we complained to our point of contact, he simply said "you should have asked." It is HIS responsibility to inform us of all expenses. He did not tell us of deadlines to order food, barely communicated with us, and did not respond to emails and phone calls. We were also kicked out at 10 because "another party was coming," but no other party came. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. read more

Couple of friends dragged me over here late one Tuesday night. The place was pretty much deserted, except for a bunch of middle-aged guys playing pool, the four of us, and a couple sitting on the couches. The atmosphere was pretty relaxed, but it faintly smelled like smoke, and I'm allergic. I didn't see anyone smoking in the main room, perhaps they have a smoking room and it wafted into the main room? I don't know. Food is really inexpensive (I paid like $6 for a sizeable basket of popcorn shrimp) and pretty good as far as bar food goes. The bartender was friendly, but didn't clarify with my friends a couple times whether they wanted the drink or the shooter, and they were unhappy to just receive the shooter. No biggie. My friend complained she screwed up his jolly rancher and refused to drink it, but when I took it from him and drank it myself, I thought it was fine. I'll start by saying I haven't been here in a while so my review is a bit dated. I used to go here quite frequently tho and play pool and have drinks/food. The food is not bad, pretty average, typical pub food really. They have a huge variety of micro brews and a huge bar downstairs. Upstairs is another bar and what was a smoking pool room. Don't know if that is still the case but my bf at the time smoked so he loved it there since smoking got banned in places. The best part was on Sundays you could play for free, no, scratch that, you could play for free IF you spend $10 on food/alcohol, so... basically free as you're probably already want a couple beers while you play so it's taken care of. We spent a lot of Sunday's there (!) when it was winter, and also in summer when to hot/humid to enjoy much outside. Hopefully they still have the Sunday special. I never really hung out here on a Fri/Sat evening but I think it turns into a dance club type place. I've also heard some fights breaking out is pretty normal. read more

Its a very unique experience to be playing pool on the fourth floor of Herndon Clocktower. Very picturesque but its better if you just look out the window. Although staff is attentive, they lack personality. Food presentation is average, food taste is good. Music can get too loud and clientele too rowdy, but hey its a pool hall. I think we need to see a more upscale pool hall in our area. Breakers has this ability to be very unique and stand out from the crowd especially in the business district of Herndon. read more

They have two full bars, a separate and large smoking room upstairs and so many things to do I can't imagine a person getting bored; pool, darts, karaoke, games on TVs. Our regular guys-hangout place. I don't smoke but some of my friends prefer the Sky Lounge which is the smoking section upstairs with a few pool tables. There are many more pool tables downstairs along with a larger bar and other events each evening including karaoke, DJ, live music, etc based on which night you get there. This bar is great for $4 quesadillas and discounted beer on thursdays. The karaoke volume needs to be turned down when karaoke is on you can't hear anything but the person singing. I'm not one for bars but I would imagine people would like to be able to converse with friends sitting next to them. Local spot where you'll encounter all types of people from old high school classmates, to a guy dressed up in a full on pump suit, to that really drunk girl breaking out moves on an empty dance floor. Can't beat the $1 beers happy hour durning the week and the wings are on point. The bartenders are pretty cool too. The wings are pretty good, get them extra crispy! I've never had bad food from them. The chicken sandwich, curly fries, cheese and bacon fries and the Mac and cheese are always hot and fresh! I attended a friend's birthday party featuring a DJ and 80's music. The staff was friendly and the sound system was definitely loud enough. It would be great if they had an open air smoking area with a balcony on the far side. The Electric Slide freaked me out because I had not ever seen it before. My companion for the evening had to explain to me what it was. Featuring breakdancing too? I don't think that's why they call it Breakers Sky Lounge though. read more

They ran a groupon making themselves out to look like a restaurant. When I found out they were not and required a cover charge to get in that would make the groupon worthless. Then I found out Breakers Sky Lounge specifically prevented any sort of refund or exchange (probably because no one would actually want their groupon once they found out what the place actually was). So there is $15 down the drain. Very upset at this place for intentionally misrepresenting themselves and preventing refunds of unused money and at groupon for endorsing this kind of behavior. read more
