Amazing breakfast. Very good vibe from the neighborhood to the actual restaurant and outdoor patio area. Took me a second to figure out that I needed to order at the counter, but the hardest thing was to figure out WHAT to order. So many great options. The Saturday morning visit I ordered the BAF Tacos. The three tacos included slow cooked pork was terrific, then add the scrambled eggs, salsa, chipotle aioli, lettuce and tomatoes were just wonderful. I was at first worried that it wouldn't be enough, but they were filling. I also ordered a chocolate chip pancake on the side (excellent) and self-serve coffee. It was so good, I got up a little early and went back on Sunday morning. SO happy I did. One of the eternal questions is what came first, the chicken or the egg? Well, with the Fried Chicken & Bacon sandwich, they come at the same time! Fried chicken, folded egg, hot honey, bacon and cheese on Brioche bread. HOLY COW! Arguably, the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. I will definitely go back next visit to Louisville just for this sandwich. read more

Amazing food at a good price!! My husband and I came on a Friday morning and we're excited when we it wasn't super busy. The service was excellent and the food came out decently quick! I got the chicken and waffle fries, and they were beyond delicious. I really liked how crunchy the waffle fries were. The hot honey really gave it an extra touch and took the flavor up for me. My husband got the oatmeal and I was thoroughly surprised when I tried it and enjoyed it! I'm usually not a fan of oatmeal, but this one was pretty good, probably all the yummy extras! So you may be wondering, why only four stars? Well, it's because of the orange juice. The orange juice was, indeed, fresh squeezed and VERY fresh tasting. I didn't know how much the orange juice was until well after I paid and sat down, turns out it was $8!!! I think that is probably a reasonable price for some thing that is being fresh squeezed, however that price point just did not match the prices of the other food. I think the most expensive item on the menu was around $15 so $8 for an orange juice was a little wild. Overall our food was amazing and if I hadn't gotten orange juice we would've only paid $22 ish for two meals, and trust me the chicken and waffle fries were well worth it! Traveling for bourbon and beyond and came here for breakfast. Line was out of the door. Owner came up to welcome us and explain the process. You order at the counter then find seating so the "line" moves quickly. You walk through to the back and find a mini restaurant paradise. Something for everyone and great for families! I wish we had something like this in Milwaukee. The owner also came around handing out cookies just to be kind. Beyond exceptional service, wonderful atmosphere and great food! You have to get your own menus, find your own seating, go back to a counter & order at a counter, then you go back to get your food. There's no actual service. Staff wasn't very friendly. They had a game on in the room we sat in (which was the only room with a table big enough for our party) & it was full volume. Thankfully a man watching offered to turn it down. While the food is absolutely amazing be prepared for a wait to order and a wait for the food. We went midday Friday and the line was out the door. It took about an hour to get our food. They seem to have outgrown the location which is a wonderful problem but it is crowded. As a first timer I wasn't sure of the process as it wasn't clear. What an amazing place to eat. I live in the best food city in America for food. Chicago, that's right. But the shrimp and grits at Breakfast AF were simply superb. The seasoning was on point and that bacon. Man that was some of the best bacon I've ever had in my life. That is one big restaurant. They even have a playroom for children. This place is beyond a doubt the best breakfast I've had in Louisville. I ordered a simple American breakfast because I was hoping to get a big dose of protein without too many carbs. Well after they put brioche toast on my plate and I ate the "kegs" that plan went happily out the window. It's a counter order place which I never really love but definitely understand. Great service great food and great atmosphere! This place was really cool and had some items I wanted to try. They discontinued the chicken and waffle fries and explained they got cold too fast. So I was sad for a second then ordered a ham and cheese croissant. my friend ordered the shrimp and grits as that is her go to for any breakfast place we go to. As basic b as it sounds to get a ham and cheese croissant this sandwich was anything but! It was huge and I was so hungry I forgot to take a pic and ate the entire thing (except for the bite i shared with my friend!) she shared the shrimp and grits with me which were pretty good for a thing i usually HATE eating anywhere. They had some spice and some shrimp and the grits were soft and not gritty. We ordered water as well in open plastic clear solo cups. Well folks this Yelper is a class A clutz! I can't handle my drinks very well! 2 pints of water into our conversation i finally took off my large black coat which is lovely and puffy and water proof and black. So in the most beautifully ungraceful way I took my coat off I managed to knock over my 3rd fully filled plastic cup of water all over the table my seat and the floor. It was epic standing ovation 10 out of 10 where I managed to make everyone at the restaurant to look at my amazing display of clumsiness! The staff heard my glorious disruption and immediately jumped into action, cook grabbed towels and offered them to me fearing I had just wet myself and the water hit only water proof surfaces and not the food, the books we were there discussing or any other diners or my clothes. This amazing feat was discovered as such by the young lady taking everyone's orders and she ran off to grab a mop upon that discovery. We moved to a booth where i was not allowed to have more water as i clearly could not handle any more! She mopped up the floor and cleaned off the table and chairs to look as if nothing had occurred. The small heart attack i probably gave the cook was handled in the most wonderful way! that i know i will be back not only for the food but the ineffable service i have ever received!
