The AF in Breakfast AF stands for "as foretold" not "as f&*" I feel like this is important to state because "as foretold" means that you're going to get a decent breakfast and exactly what you're expecting and want. "As swear word" implies (to me) something extra, something over the top which it was not and while I normally here for that kind of thing I am not at breakfast, not always. It could also imply a lot of food, like a heaping plate but despite being as wide as I am tall I am not here for the heaping plate of food. It is usually is not a great thing. It had the chicken and waffles, something that living in this southern adjacent city has become something that I really love: an American waffle with good fried chicken. I love Jesus, my Godchildren, Marcia (Marcia, Marcia), and fried chicken. The highest compliment I've ever heard was when Kelly J. was described "as fine as a piece of fried chicken." This chicken was fried and in a tender cut, I have never met a Van Ryzin or a chicken tender I did not like. In this application it might not suit the desires of purists but it worked for me. Also, as someone who has been to Belgium more times than his grandmother's house I know and love a waffle when I see it, the cute french fry style waffles here are amazing and perfect for this meal. You could dip everything. It was amazing. It was as foretold and bordered on "as f***" but we really just want "as foretold." Breakfast AF features counter service which for some people is a deal breaker. I like refilling my own drink and not being asked several fifty times if everything is okay. Two cousins and Their Husbands on our Valentines trip to Louisville stopped in Breakfast AF to cap off the weekend. We got in line to order and luckily for us we were able to find seating because this places filled up fast. The fellas (husband) had the American breakfast which was great. It included your choice of protein, eggs, potatoes and toast or croissant. The wives (cousin) both had the chicken and waffles/pancake. My wife offered offered me a taste of her waffle and chicken and I was pleasantly impressed because the waffles was drenched in syrup thanks to my wife. The waffle was a sweet spicy taste which had a little kick along with the chicken which was little mild made a good pairing. The atmosphere in the place was nice. Though the dining area was a bit small we did notice there was outdoor seating but unfortunately that was closed because it's winter. I had a conversation with two young students who attended Louivile and they raved about the food and they had been there the day before which confirmed that this spot is a definitely go to. I strongly suggest you stopped there if you looking for a solid meal. Though we didn't drink to much the night before I could definitely see this as a perfect spot to rid your self of a hangover or if you simply just want to enjoy good comraderie. read more

It's a self serve type of service so you'll order at the window when you're ready. You'll get a buzzer to know when to get your food and you'll seat yourself. The food was pretty good. Pancakes were pancakes , pretty buttery. My favorite were the Hashbrown keg. They're like little stuffed hashbrown balls and the food stays hot pretty long. It's on the pricier side, we got these two things, an orange juice and a lemonade for $41... I'll probably still come again for the Hashbrown balls once in a while. Amazing food at a good price!! My husband and I came on a Friday morning and we're excited when we it wasn't super busy. The service was excellent and the food came out decently quick! I got the chicken and waffle fries, and they were beyond delicious. I really liked how crunchy the waffle fries were. The hot honey really gave it an extra touch and took the flavor up for me. My husband got the oatmeal and I was thoroughly surprised when I tried it and enjoyed it! I'm usually not a fan of oatmeal, but this one was pretty good, probably all the yummy extras! So you may be wondering, why only four stars? Well, it's because of the orange juice. The orange juice was, indeed, fresh squeezed and VERY fresh tasting. I didn't know how much the orange juice was until well after I paid and sat down, turns out it was $8!!! I think that is probably a reasonable price for some thing that is being fresh squeezed, however that price point just did not match the prices of the other food. I think the most expensive item on the menu was around $15 so $8 for an orange juice was a little wild. Overall our food was amazing and if I hadn't gotten orange juice we would've only paid $22 ish for two meals, and trust me the chicken and waffle fries were well worth it! Very friendly staff and really good food. I had the tacos. They were tasty but needed some heat; I added some hot sauce and that really made the difference. My husband had the chicken and waffles with a side a bacon. The chicken was done well and he loved the little purple stuff sprinkled on top (lol!) The bacon was great. Took me a second to figure out that I needed to order at the counter, but the hardest thing was to figure out WHAT to order. So many great options. The Saturday morning visit I ordered the BAF Tacos. The three tacos included slow cooked pork was terrific, then add the scrambled eggs, salsa, chipotle aioli, lettuce and tomatoes were just wonderful. I was at first worried that it wouldn't be enough, but they were filling. I also ordered a chocolate chip pancake on the side (excellent) and self-serve coffee. It was so good, I got up a little early and went back on Sunday morning. SO happy I did. One of the eternal questions is what came first, the chicken or the egg? Traveling for bourbon and beyond and came here for breakfast. Line was out of the door. Owner came up to welcome us and explain the process. You order at the counter then find seating so the "line" moves quickly. You walk through to the back and find a mini restaurant paradise. Something for everyone and great for families! I wish we had something like this in Milwaukee. The owner also came around handing out cookies just to be kind. Beyond exceptional service, wonderful atmosphere and great food! Oh yes, I don't even want to write this review because we want to still be able to get a table. This place is Uber cool. Food is authentic and real, dishes are original and delicious. It has a really cool atmosphere and a great deck in front and hidden extremely large patio area in the back with tables, fire pits, enclosed gazebos etc... This place was excellent! My husband and I stopped on the way out of town on a whim and were not disappointed. My husband got the big burrito and I got the tacos. We got the cinnamon knots to split. Food was piping hot. You have to order at a counter but that didn't take away from the ambiance. Food was ready fairly quick and there was self serve coffee available for refills. Music was great and vibe was chi. Seating initially felt limited in the pics but really it was cozy once we got inside and people seemed to rotate quickly. The chicken sandwich was good, it's a big sandwich. Portion sizes are good for the prices of most items. The tacos had a lot going on. The vibes are definitely there. It's cute. Everyone was friendly staff and patrons. Plenty of outdoor seating, there's a bar next door, play ground on one side and a fountain in the middle. While the food is absolutely amazing be prepared for a wait to order and a wait for the food. We went midday Friday and the line was out the door. It took about an hour to get our food. They seem to have outgrown the location which is a wonderful problem but it is crowded. As a first timer I wasn't sure of the process as it wasn't clear.
