Ordered a large order for my coworkers and I. The large croissant sandwich is almost enough for 2! I had the croissant with bacon, eggs, mushrooms and avocado.. it was delicious! My coworkers ordered the Chorizo hash and the 3 egg omelet. All the food was delivered hot and the order was correct with sides of bread and guacamole. Two thumbs up for this place! read more

A menu that offers an adventure for breakfast or brunch. Variety and wonderful spice . Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast burrito. More than ample portion complimented by excellent mild pepper sauce and homemade potatoes. Fresh fruit side and good coffee. The restaurant is very well appointed to accommodate all covid restrictions and has outside dining. Staff were very attentive. A fine restaurant without inflated prices. read more

Never dined in, only carry out for Breakfast House. But I can tell you, their food is ALWAYS FRESH, FLAVORFUL AND DELICIOUS. Vanilla pancakes with strawberries and bananas has to be my favorite. The breakfast hash is good too! I wish their chicken and waffles had chicken strips instead of breasts and thighs, but that's more of a personal preference. Food is always ready so quick too! read more

The chorizo hash with potatoes was good, not great. Chicken and waffles was decent, chicken was on the dryer side. Maple syrup is really tasty. Chilaquiles are good but, again, not great. The restaurant itself is comfy. There's front and back seating. I love how they use paper on the tables for easy clean up. One thing I hate at most restaurants is that they use a rag to clean the tables so this is perfect for someone like me. read more

Sat outside on a nice fall morning. We had great service and a fine meal. The staff was super nice and patient as we waited for our friend to arrive for 20 min or so. The coffee was delicious as well. I got the huevos rancheros and it was fantastic. The chorizo hash was also good. I'd certainly return. read more

Meh it was okay. The coffee was terrible, whatever you do don't waste your money on it unless you're into bitter coffee. Pancakes were nothing special. We also had the breakfast hash which was pretty tasty. The place was cute and cozy but we got stuck under the air vent which blew cold air our entire visit. The outdoor patio was cute! read more

I'm guilty of being a bougie brunch person (that is, a sucker for nice ambiance and "inventive" dishes and cocktails with ingredients I can't pronounce). Breakfast House is not that. It's diner food, but the best kind. They're well known for their chilaquiles and chorizo hash, which were both really good and homey. The best thing though was their corn cake -- definitely get this. Coffee was strong. Service was prompt. All around a very enjoyable time. read more

My first time visiting this place will be my last time. After placing an order for breakfast, paying for it and then tipping 20%, I proceeded to take one of the seven empty tables for two, sit and wait for my food to be prepared to go. There were two other parties in the place eating, plenty of room, as I suppose it should only take 5 minutes or so to prepare a breakfast burrito. By the way, a breakfast burrito with two drinks is $25, plus tip. The man working then walks up within 20 seconds of me sitting and says "this table is for customers". I responded "I am a customer, aren't I?" He says, "but you're getting this to go". I said "okay, wow, that makes me not a customer?!" Then I proceeded to wait outside for my food, standing up. Funny that I had just walked two miles to a job I was working a block away from this place. I guess I'm not worth their seats. As I waited for my food, only one other person walked in, and they did not sit either, just picked something up to go. This place needs to take a lesson in customer service and tact. The absolutely worst experiences I think ever had at a restaurant, at least in my last 10 years of living. We sat down we were greeted very nicely. We are mediately given water. We then waited over 30 minutes to have our order taken, my wife even asked for the server and she said she be right back. We had a little baby girls too, so now she doesn't get to eat for another hour because we wasted over 30 minutes just sitting at a restaurant! But oh well she's just a little baby girl don't worry about her. read more

I came here with some friends for the first time after checking Yelp and I just want to pass them by another review. Here's how my meal went here-- I started by ordering my typical orange juice, my friend had a water. The juice wasn't fresh it was machine, but that was expected - most places do this so no real complaint there. I love this spot! I went to High school right around the corner from this place and there food is to die for. Family run as well! Love to support a local chicago business! But today I probably had the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. The table was not clean and it was sticky. It smelled like dirty mop water in the restaurant. I waited 35 minutes for my food when people at other tables sat down after us, ordered after us and got there food before us? After waiting 35 minutes for my food they managed to cook a steak unevenly? Half of it was medium rare and the other was medium. I didn't even know that was possible. They also don't know how to use visa gift card for payment which is pretty pathetic. Man, swung by Breakfast House last weekend and the Paris Omelette might be the best thing I've had in ages. It's three eggs folded with shaved Virginia ham, gooey Gruyère and Dijon butter, served with house potatoes and toast--total comfort vibes. Staff were super chill and refilled my coffee quickly, don't even gotta ask. The place has that corner café energy, and if it's sunny you can snag a sidewalk table and feel like you're kickin' back in Lakeview. Honestly, that Paris Omelette hits creamy, buttery, salty and every bite felt like I knew what I was doing. I ordered from Grubhub 2 similar dishes: the 2 eggs with sausage links, a side of potatoes, and rye bread. The only difference in the dishes were how the eggs were cooked. When I received my order, I found a melted bread tie hidden under the potatoes. When I called to ask for a refund, they only refunded for the one dish and not the two that I asked for, despite the fact that the other dish would've been cooked in the same batch of potatoes. Drool. All I can say, after finding this small hidden gem on yelp, My wife and I decided to treck through the snow. Easily one of the best decisions that I made all day. The food was hot, cheap and delicious. I tried to eat healthily and get the egg-white frittata, seeing as my recent fitness test showed how fat I am. My wife, on the other hand, made the right decision and got the Chilaquiles. Those were far and away one of the best breakfast dishes that I've had in Chicago. Going back soon, I promise! read more

I've come here a couple of times on the weekend for breakfast/brunch, and I've had a great experience each time! Everyone that works here is so friendly and accommodating! This place runs like an efficient machine without making your time here feel rushed. And the food! Everything tastes so fresh and is prepared perfectly. The Chilaquiles are one of my favorite things.
