Such a fun place with delicious food! I especially love that they use organic eggs and organic coffee! I ordered the tostados with over medium eggs. Very fresh dish- I didn't miss the meat at all. My husband and I split the cinnamon role pancakes. It was very good! Service was fantastic, everyone was friendly and we were taken care of. Love the decor in the bathroom !

Came here twice during my trip to PB because the first meal was so good. everything we ordered was really well done, the service was friendly both times, and the food came out surprisingly fast. If it's your first time, I'd recommend getting one of the scrambles or omelets and upgrading the toast to a side of pancakes. Definitely worth it. The potatoes were crispy, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the pancakes were fluffy without being too heavy. The French toast was also really good if you're looking for something sweeter. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in San Diego.

A little last-minute change for breakfast that ended up being amazing. Not our original choice this morning, but Breakfast Republic blew us away. They were packed but we got seated right away and served pretty quickly. For a breakfast place, I was expecting smaller servings but the amount of food you get here will keep you full until dinner time. The omelet is about the size of a forearm while the Benedict was like two fists. On top of that, the amount of potatoes you get is ridiculous but in a good way. This will be a place worth visiting any time we're in San Diego as it's not far from the beachside plus it's by the pier if you want to do some exploring afterwards.

This place is extremely popular and was just a short walk from my hotel. The wait for food is pretty long. I waited over 25-30 minutes, but the place was busy and the kitchen was sending them out in the order received so can't do much about it. I had the steak and eggs, with sourdough toast and a side of fruit, and fresh-squeezed OJ. The steak came topped with some microgreens, but due to the cyclospora outbreak, I didn't try those. The steak was cooked to the proper temp (M) and the eggs were scrambled with cheese, but they both needed salt and pepper once I tasted them. Their version of steak sauce was a little too sweet for me, unfortunately. The jam for the sourdough toast was delicious and the oj was pretty sweet. Overall an average meal but I didn't leave hungry.

Tried this place for brunch with the fam for the first time. Cute theme and easy to access location off Mission blvd in PB. We walked so didn't have to worry about parking. There was a bit of a wait for a table and wait for food once we put our order in. Our server was responsive and helpful. Quality of food was good and the kitchen accommodated our special requests- eggs on the side for breakfast tostada and veggie sausage with the American breakfast. My daughter felt her brioche French toast was just OK. Husband enjoyed the carne asada chilliquilles. We tried the "best Bloody Mary in SD" as claimed on the menu. They were pretty darn good, so I say give them a shot! Spicy and flavorful. Large portions and tasty food. The wait time despite the restaurant not seeming full and restroom not super clean are the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Would come back again! P.S. I regret not snapping pics of food but was so hungry by the time it arrived that I forgot! Next time

Breakfast Republic is definitely a popular spot. The vibe is really fun with great music playing, making it a perfect brunch place. We ordered the pancake flight, which was awesome because we got to try three different flavors. They also have a ton of merch if you're into that, which adds to the whole experience. Service was friendly overall, but it did slow down toward the end. We ended up waiting about 15 minutes just to get our check, which was a little frustrating. Overall, it's a solid brunch spot with great energy and good food, just make sure you're not in a rush when you go.

Great experience coming here on a Saturday for brunch! Vibes are great. I ordered a breakfast burrito, which I have pretty high standards for, and unfortunately it wasn't anything amazing -- I'd order something else next time. I also wasn't a huge fan of the sauce it came with, it was quite vinegary. Server and hostess were both great and very communicative. Overall I'd give it a 3.5.

Terrific breakfast spot in PB! Great drinks, service, prices, and food. I had the BR Breakfast Sandwich, which comes with a garlic aioli on sourdough toast, with tomatoes, marinated thick cut bacon (Jurassic Pork), two eggs over easy, and I added fresh avocado slices, paired with home fries. The eggs were cooked perfectly, home fries just crispy yet tender, and bread was fresh. Very very good. I'll be back when in PB.

This is my favorite Breakfast Republic location! Two blocks from the beach and across the street from a coffee shop, perfect spot. There's plenty of parking nearby and a lot behind the building. I always get the Chiliquiles but today I decided to go with something different and realized I have never reviewed this place! Today I got the protein omelet with vegan eggs (I have an egg intolerance) and my fiancee got the steak and eggs. She also got the OJ and I ordered a Jurassic Bloody Mary. My bloody Mary was divine, one of the best ones I've had. The perfect little spice! My omlet and potatoes were also fire! The potatoes were so yummy with rosemary too! My only qualm with the omlet was the lack of ham. My fiancees dish was also fantastic! The only draw back about this place is the wait, which what do you expect your right by the beach. But service can also be pretty spotty. Luckily today we got a great server named Michael!

I was on my way home from San Antonio to Seattle with a stopover in San Diego. I did't realize when I booked by tickets that it was a6 hour delay. Instead of bellyaching about having to hang out at the airport, I remembered that it's San Diego, where I went to grad school, and everywhere was 30 minutes from the beach. Grabbed my niece, threw her in a rental car, and literally 20 minutes later I'm at Mission Beach. Bought some beach gear since our bags were still checked and got to sit in the sand a little. Before I could get hangry, we left for brunch and Yelp recommended Breakfast Republic and thank you Yelp for doing that because this place was great. Quirky decor and crazy good shrimp and grits made me super happy and my niece enjoyed her chocolate [pancakes. Fueled for more fun, we hung out at PB, feeding birds leftover pancakes and toast and my niece had one off the best days ever. So glad I could I've that to her, all because of an over extended stopover.

Good hearty breakfast options. It's super busy and kinda loud inside. The eggs are farm fresh.

This place always slaps hard. Every time I'm in Pacific Beach I make a point to eat here for breakfast. This time once again it did not disappoint. We had the trio stuffed French toast, in the next day we have the Jill Achilles. The service was good. The ambience was chill as always. I'm looking forward to going back again.

We arrived early in the morning so the place was not yet busy but the bartender/wait staff Michelle was alone and politely asked us to give her a couple minutes. No worries. She sat us in a desirable location out of the way and quickly took our drink order. The place is cute and has a chicken and egg theme throughout. By the time we finished our meal the place was packed and you Could tell it was a local favorite. The food is the real star of the show. Fresh eggs, what looked to be homemade jam and breakfast potatoes to die for! It looks like the food is top notch and locally sourced. I don't know for sure but it was one of the best breakfasts ever! I had the American breakfast with eggs bacon and toast while my boys got the crab benedict, pancakes and my husband got the steak and eggs! We were all thoroughly impressed with the food, the service, and overall vibe! Michelle was a consummate professional and very kind. I would love to have this restaurant in my hometown so I could go there more often. This is a DO NOT MISS for BREAKFAST if staying in Mission Beach San Diego! Great way to end our last full day in San Diego on vacation! They have indoor and outdoor seating. It was a chilly day or we would have definitely sat outside!! Fully accessible and so happy we found this place!

Does this restaurant take reservations? I have a big party coming into town.

Unfortunately we’re on a first come first serve basis and don’t accept reservations

We tried to go here today (Saturday) for breakfast at 9am and it was closed. Does anyone know what is going on?

My understanding is there are some permit issues so they were forced to close until resolved.

It's a big place with multiple indoor/outdoor seating options. Cute. We ate there every morning for breakfast because it's the best option nearby and opens early. It has baked goods, all do the coffee options, a full bar that opens later in the day, and good prepared meals. Didn't like the waffle as much as I thought I would, maybe 4 or 5 on the star scale. The fruit, whipped cream, and syrup for it were solid. My friends tried chai bowls, fresh fruit, banana bread, breakfast burritos, and other pastries if not enjoying the (delicious!!!) turkey sandwich. I did find myself wishing there were fresh juice options. A fresh OJ or green juice would have hit the spot and I couldn't find plain fresh squeezed I the area. All and all, super delighted by this find and scores a 5.

I'm just extremely disappointed with how poor my experience was today because I had only super positive experiences previously and was looking forward to dining there this morning after sometime away, but holy hell ....today's experience has been so profoundly bad. Firstly, my husband ordered two breakfast burritos - one with bacon and the other with bacon on the side. I'll chalk this one up to miscommunication, but they put bacon in one, and bacon in the other too - and then added bacon on the side to the other and charged us $5.50 for the extra bacon. Again, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here and will be sure to communicate explicitly next time. They kindly made me a new one, but the new one had potatoes that weren't cooked thoroughly (likely to rush the food to me, so I acknowledge the difficulty here), however there was hardly any avocado. I literally had to complain again because I didn't believe there was any avocado at all. I wouldn't be as pissed if this weren't an EIGHTEEN DOLLAR breakfast burrito. Lastly, the coffee lids don't fit on the cups. We tried to put one on and ended up spilling the entire coffee. I chalked this up to an accident on our part, however another patron who observed our incident said "their lids don't fit the cup, right??" And I was like "oh so it wasn't just us??" And she was like "no, I almost spilled mine all over too." This random patron encouraged us to ask for a new cup of coffee as a result (thanks, random patron!). The Molly's team did kindly make us a new (albeit quite bitter) drink, which I appreciate. However, the lid was still an issue - it would spill out of the cup all over the rim between the cup and the lid when I'd try to take a sip, so I took off the lid entirely, but then was stuck with dealing with spills while walking around - I had to move at a snail's pace to prevent spills altogether. This was easier to deal with random leakage around the entire cup every time I'd sip with the lid on. Ultimately It was just a lose-lose with the ill fitting lid situation. All this to say - Molly's Team, yall were fantastic just a month ago. What happened? I understand food and services in the beach area stuff are often expensive and rarely good, but you guys are *too* expensive for this poor of service and quality. Two stars because at least the folks there are generally nice.

The kicker was how terrible the service was. - our waitress had a lot of attitude in the beginning, rolling her eyes and not being responsive, and rarely checked on us after taking our food orders - entrees came a long time before apps, and dinner was served without silverware - entrees were placed at the corner of the table instead of served to each individual person, and while moving our plates food spilled everywhere and no one cleaned it up - no water refills. When we did ask for water, the waitress brought us the carafe and immediately walked away even though all of our cups were empty/needed filling - our empty plates stayed on our table for an hour and only got cleaned up when we asked - someone said they would be right back to come wipe the dirty table after they took our plates, and never came back - it was a birthday outing and they did comp our dessert, but it didn't come with a candle or anything. They brought 1 spoon and no sharing plates, even though there were 3 of us. When we asked for extra spoons they brought out packaged plastic utensils ??? - a lot of young and rowdy patrons, just to keep in mind the ambiance Genuinely shocking experience. Please do better!

They apparently have happy hour all day on Sundays. I tried the peach mocktail and it was very yummy, so I appreciated the $5 off. For dinner, I ordered the branzino (the one on the menu and not the special). I was told while the one on the normal menu was $47, the special was $55 and the only difference between the two was the special would be lit on fire table side. I didn't feel the flames were necessary, so I skipped that. (However, the special did mention a sauce that I'm not sure was actually on the regular one, so I don't actually know.) A few minutes before the food came out, they asked if we wanted it all together or if it would be ok for my husband and our friends food to come out first since they were still finishing my fish. I said to just bring it out when it was ready, however they ended up bringing it out together anyway. The confusing part though, all of our meals weren't served warm? You'd think if they were waiting on mine to be done it would have been at least warm? It wasn't. The branzio was very plainly seasoned, tasted heavily of oil and was also somewhat dry? I got it with the whipped sweet potatoes, which was very creamy, which was unlike any way I've ever had sweet potatoes before, but they didn't taste particularly good? We each tried them and none of us could figure out what it was like, but we all agreed we didn't enjoy them. My husband got the arrecherea, it was fine, but also cold. The fries it came with was probably the best part, they were crispy even while being cold. Our friend got the stuffed Mediterranean Stuffed Pepper, his meal also wasn't warm, and he said some of the rice wasn't cooked all the way and it was hard. We also got the Puccia Bread & Spreads after seeing positive reviews. I normally love feta cheese, but the feta dip was kind of sweet? Same with the eggplant. The only spread that was good was the butter. Personally, I thought the bread was fine? But it was almost a bit doughy. Overall, we weren't very impressed with the meal. It had a lot of potential, but the food just didn't hit the mark.

I was already leaning toward what I ordered, and he reassured me I was making a great choice. His knowledge of the menu and genuine hospitality made the experience even better. The lobster and shrimp roll was hands down the best I've had in years. The mahi slider was just as impressive--perfectly seasoned, lightly breaded, and fried to perfection without the excessive batter that so many places use. Every bite let the fresh fish shine through.
