Breaking Tea is a cozy boba shop located in DT Campbell close to Manresa Bakery, Aqui Restaurant, etc. I think it's mostly street parking around. The interior is simply decorated with long tables and chairs to sit at. They do have a long bench near the front door. Kiosk and/cashier to order from. One unisex restroom. They have house music playing. Additional tea and juice drinks are currently being added to the menu. Stay tuned. I went with the Classic Milk Tea (+$ boba). The tea was good and the boba was soft and chewy. Support your local business.

A cute little spot in downtown Campbell off Campbell Avenue. A pretty good selection of milk and fresh teas to choose from. Self-serve on their kiosk, so no one greets you or asks if you need anything. And for a Saturday afternoon, they were already out of their Egg Waffles? Never heard of a place of running out of something that's pretty simple to make since you only need to make the batter. Popcorn chicken was good. The mild is already pretty spicy enough for me. And able to select to Almond milk in my hot Taro Latte with an extra cost - I think $0.75 more). But, a lively place with music playing.

Service is friendly & prompt! There is a reason it's popular. Cool inside with a few tables & benches to sit. Make sure you sign up for rewards, our drink was free today! Awesome non dairy options & also small bites on the menu.

I tried the Okinawa milk tea with bubbles. The tea was yummy, it had a rich, black tea flavor. The bubbles were fantastic soft yet chewy. I wished the amount of added bubbles was a bit more. I also ordered the spicy popcorn chicken, which was just as tasty. It came with a side of sweet chili sauce. I would like there to be slightly more chicken and less breading, but overall, it was a great. I ordered online and picked it up in-store, and the service was quite quick. They have tables and music playing inside, and they also had the same small sweet bites upfront.

Since my last review, I've tried a few different milk teas (lots of after school meetings require pick me up drinks) and have found one that is more to my speed. This particular time, I came with my bf on a weekend as we were looking for a late afternoon snack and decided milk tea sounded good. We were around the area for something else, so we came here. Ordering was easy at the kiosk - okinawa milk tea for me, some coffee drink for the bf and popcorn chicken and mozzarella sticks to share. The atmosphere was still the same - relaxed and calm. We sat in a corner and had good conversation about random topics. I liked my okinawa milk tea much more than the regular milk tea - it's similar to the brown sugar milk tea with a stronger flavor. My bf gulped down his drink, so I assume he liked his as well. The snacks were decent - I preferred the popcorn chicken over the mozzarella sticks. The chicken was nicely fried, but still tender. The sticks were a little too dry for me.

While downtown at the Campbell farmers market I decided I wanted boba. First thing in noticed when walking in was the decor and the mood lighting. The space is relatively small with just a handful of tables but clean and inviting. I was greeted with a smile when I walked in, even with a couple in front of me. They have a relatively simple menu that was easy to read. I ordered a mango green milk tea with honey boba and mango stars, along with some sweet potato fries. The milk tea was great, with just the right amount of sweetness and I throughly enjoyed my toppings. The sweet potato fries, while hot, left something to be desired. They seemed almost not cooked enough and could use a bit of salt. Over all though, I enjoyed myself and wouldn't mind going back to try out some other teas. I need to add because I just noticed! I love the cup that I received my drink in. It looks reusable.

Visited at 9pm on a Saturday night and there were a few people hanging out here. I'm a frequent visitor of the SJ location, but this was my first time in the Campbell location. It was a lot cleaner and quieter than the SJ location and I liked the interior decor and Christmas decorations they put up as well. I ordered a passionfruit green tea (50% sweet) and the barista made it on the spot. Parking is difficult to find in downtown Campbell, but there is a free parking garage right behind this building. Definitely a cute place to check out if you're craving boba.

It was ok, the tea is overly sweet and weak. But if that's what you're into then it's good, but I like a stronger tea

Ask the Community - Breaktime Tea

    Do you accept cash?

    Yes we do

Hey, I asked this same question at another location of Breaktime Tea and wasn't sure if it varies from site to site, but do they accept cash as payment?

    Yes. Car is accepted. Thanks

Do you guys still have rain drop cake on the menu anymore?

Sorry we stopped making raindrop jelly cakes :(

What do you guys use for sweetness in your drinks? I hope not bad stuff like high fructose corn syrup...

Yup they use Fructose Corn Syrup for additional flavors. You be lucky if they use dollar store honey

    Is there non dairy milk?

Yes. Most of our milk teas are non dairy by default. We also have soy milk and almond milk as other non dairy options.

    Do they serve food yet?

Hot snacks are coming soon, but we’ll be adding delicious desserts as soon as this weekend and more to come.

We came to the shop around 11:30 a.m. on August 23rd…read more When we arrived there were two patrons outside enjoying their coffee and pastry and another set of patrons inside a little girl with their dad having a little tea party. I will say that walking in the space is elegant is the word I would like to use but also inviting with the little extras that they do at the table with the fresh flowers the soft chairs the colorful decor that surrounds it. Also the two individuals behind the counter that were taking orders and packaging things were just a delight. Both of them greeted us with a smile and they asked us if it was our first time to the shop and we told them yes and so they walked us through some of the more popular items and how are things were broken down and that was very much appreciated cuz there are many many options in front of you in unless you know exactly what you want you can be looking at everything for a couple of minutes before you decide on even one thing. We ended up getting a regular latte and a rose latte for our drinks. And then as a little delicious taste of something we got the chocolate croissant and the almond croissant. I am going to comment on my rose latte first that thing was beautifully made because though it was sweet but in a way that wasn't overpowering because you could still taste a little bit of the caffeine the creaminess of the milk that was used and the espresso it was like a hint in the background so a little call out there if you're someone that really wants to taste their coffee this wasn't the jam for you and that's okay my husband got the regular latte with steamed milk and I tasted his and that was like coffee in your face so you can always go for a solid twist like that. And to clarify his latte was also very good because it just tasted so fresh and of high quality. Now for the pastries. They were stupendous because they had the right amount of flakiness but softness. They also were buttery but not overly so were like major hands feel greasy it was so savory both of them which is interesting because the fillings one was chocolate one was almond I would have thought that both of them would have had an overpowering sweetness to them. We will say that we both liked the almond croissant more not that the chocolate one wasn't just as good. The almond had a little bit of a 1up because I don't know how to explain it it's almost like it had a almond crumble at the top so you bit into the pastry which was fluffy but you had the crunch on the top then you had a little bit of the almond filling and then you had the butter and like the soft but almost chewiness of the inside of the layers just stupendous all of that together was great. If we end up ever being in that area again will definitely want to go back to try the rest of the stuff they had because I want to know how everything else takes especially those beautiful cakes that were just art themselves

There's a number of tables outside for you to enjoy your ice cream. We got the Dole whip and black raspberry. The Dole whip tastes like the real thing! Really refreshing and enriched with pineapple flavor, super airy, light, and easy to go down. And the height of the swirl is perfect. The black raspberry is tangy, making the ice cream less sweet than usual, which I enjoyed. It was creamy and rich, good contrast to the airiness of the Dole whip. Will 100% be back!

Anyway I finally stopped in. Outside they have a hand written a sign with a list of 36 different flavors of which I sampled 2 (the Mango & strawberry cheesecake) the mango honestly did not taste like mango at all so I ended up getting the strawberry cheesecake and cookie dough. The ice cream is definitely a good quality as it is very creamy and dense, i'm talking gelato dense. Unfortunately the strawberry cheesecake had a "been in the freezer to long taste" maybe not too many people order it but still it's not an experience you want in your mouth when you are paying a premium price for a scoop of ice cream. The cookie dough was good and had a lot of chunks of cookie dough. The service is good but not what I would call outstanding "like someone is glad to see you, if you get my drift" the inside looks a bit outdated and could use a freshening up. Honestly overall experience for me kind of laid flat 2.5 max, aka mediocre.
