It's gotten to a point where I literally crave their popcorn chicken on random days. I literally can't survive without Breaktime because it's the only boba shop near my work office, so at this point I'm reliant on them staying open forever?? Highly recommend ordering ahead on the Snackpass app and collecting points for rewards too. Certain days are pretty packed because of the SJSU students and classes. Will definitely be coming back with my coworkers for the foreseeable future!

I got here right when they opened. Place was obviously cleaned for opening. The worker was very friendly, and made the drinks quickly. I always get no sugar which risks the tea being severely oversteeped, but mine was perfect. Ambiance is basic tea and snack place in a good way. I'd be back for sure!

My go to place because it's just step away from where i live. I usually order avocado smoothie but sometimes they don't have it and i order other drinks and snacks like popcorn chicken as they don't sell fish balls anymore. The staff are nice. They have several tables for patrons. I usually go online and pick up my order.

I got here around 3:30 and there weren't that many people and drinks came out fast. There is also a bathroom you just have to ask for the password for it which is nice. I got the lychee green tea, and it was pretty refreshing. Its more on the pricey side but you get a tall cup. The boba was good but I wish there was more lychee flavor even though there were chunks of lychee. Plenty of tables as well!

This is our second time at this location. We have ordered chicken nibblers on rice. The dish is amazing. The chickens are covered with sauces, the chicken tenders are crunchy and very well cooked. It comes with sticky rice and sea weed salad. Overall a must have at this location. Definitely will try again.

Breaktime is pretty popular since its right next to SJSU. My favorite drink has to be the Roasted Oolong Milk tea and boba here is actually well made. The oolong doesn't have much roasted flavor, but I still think its yummy and probably one of the best drinks here. I also like the popcorn chicken. You get a lot of big pieces and can choose from regular or spicy. I picked spicy but didn't taste it, so I'm not sure if that's the flavor or they forgot. They also let me get extra chili sauce! I've tried the chicken nibblers here which isn't bad, but it's reasonably priced for a meal. I think the rice is kinda mushy, but the chicken and seaweed salad is good.

Great place for Boba, and all sorts of things on the menu. Great variety, staff is friendly. A great restaurant here!

I used to come here all the time when I was a student at SJSU. I visited this shop since I had to drop off a package nearby. I would like to give a shoutout to Jelly for being an amazing barista and helping me with any questions I ad. Mango Green Milk tea (5/5): tasted a bit tarty but tasted great and sweet. Popcorn chicken (3/5): Despite being hot, it was very dry lacked seasoning.

Still one of my favorite spots! Used to go here all the time as an SJSU student to study years ago and still go here now to do work! They always have such amazing employees and chill music too!

Popcorn chicken could use some of the five spices seasoning and does not come with garlic or basil like most other locations with popcorn chicken. It's more of a fried chicken texture versus a popcorn texture. It pretty much comes as is the Boba flavoring for the jasmine milk tea had a good chewy texture and a nice smooth tea flavoring.

My friend goes to SJSU and we both wanted boba but didn't want to go too far. We looked up what was close and found Breaktime Tea. This was my first time here so I didn't know what to expect but as someone who loves milk tea /tea in general, I had to try it. When I go to new places, I try to get the ones that sound familiar so I compare the sweetness (some are water down or too sweet) but this was just right for me. We got black sugar boba milk and honey green tea. They were both amazing and refreshing, especially the honey tea. They also weren't too pricey. The sugar levels can be a bit too sweet for some so you may not like it too much but you can get less sugar for the drinks so if you do get these drinks. The tea barista was so nice and patient. We stood there for a while since we weren't too sure what to get. They helped us quickly so we got our drink in 2-3 minutes after the order. They have seating, but it can get filled up quickly and the vibe is very cozy. I don't think they have a bathroom but the SJSU library is close by, if you need one If you are close to SJSU and need something sweet or a "break", check out Breaktime Tea. They also have snacks!!!!

A nice, small spot with really good popcorn chicken at SJ downtown. There aren't a lot of seatings and the service was straightforward. I got a mango green tea and spicy popcorn chicken. Not sure if it's because it's in downtown and close to SJSU, but this was on the pricey side (around $16 total). I think the popcorn chicken was worth it though considering the proportion is decent. The popcorn chicken comes with a sauce and was so crispy and juicy! It was one of the best I've had and steaming hot when I got it. However, if you get it in spicy, be aware that the chili powder can be really spicy! I enjoyed the flavor but it was too spicy for me after eating a few. The mango green tea was refreshing and solid. Overall, pretty nice place for some refreshments.

Do they accept cash as a form of payment?

    Yes we do. Thanks

Just wondering if they still serve shaved snow bc I did not see on menu but pics that were posted 7-8yrs ago?

Sorry Amy. We no longer have shaved snow :( Our tea menu is greatly improved compared to years ago and we also have a lot more snacks :)

Do you have nondairy bubble tea?

Most of our milk teas are non-dairy. For the ones that are dairy, we also have non-dairy options, almond milk or soy milk. Just let the cashier know you want it non-dairy.

Does the menu include any decaffeinated / non-caffeinated milk teas?

From what I saw it does not

Is the soufflé cheesecake on the menu yet?

Hi. I think you’re asking about the delivery menu (UberEats, Grubhub, Postmates). As of now it’s not on those menu yet because we make a limited amount per day and only have enough to sell in store. However we are looking to increase the quantity…

They are super busy so I try to give some grace but they were a little too scatter-brained for me. I gave my name when I ordered, but then the same lady came up to me multiple times asking if I was someone else & each time I had to correct her, "Michelle? Alma? What did you order?" At one point she even came out to ask how much I paid & when the transaction went through. I later found out it was because they couldn't find my order... regardless, it wasn't a good look on them. Their food saved them! The birria burrito is delicious & does not feel like they're skimping out on you!! The matcha latte comes unsweetened and was not bad, but a little watered down. The vienna latte has a nice sweet cream top but I'm not a fan of the coffee beans they use -- it has a fruitier/acidic taste, but I think a deeper nutty flavor would better fit the drink.

The shop itself is on the small side, with a couple tables for indoor seating and no outdoor seating. The interior boasts a curious modern-industrial vibe that I found pleasant and unique. Though I was lucky enough to grab a good spot, this isn't a prime study location--there aren't many outlets, they close at 5 (so not ideal for 9-to-5ers) and the seating is a little limited. That said, there is free WiFi and bathroom access, so if you have a well-charged laptop and a bit of luck, it's not a bad pick. Their offerings include a mid-sized array of espresso-based and tea-based drinks alongside a small selection of pastries. Though the pastries looked decent, I abstained in favor of the black sesame latte, which I liked a lot. The black sesame cream top is very delicious, though once it settles into the drink it can get a bit grainy with the coarser bits of black sesame. I really liked that it wasn't too sweet, but I wish the espresso was stronger. The drinks are on the somewhat pricier side at $7-$8 (though it feels as though I'm seeing this price range very often these days), and I feel that it is just on the cusp of being a little too much for what I am getting. While the drinks are fun and pretty good, the coffee itself doesn't stand out a ton. I definitely need to try more drinks to form a more cohesive opinion, though. Overall, it's a pretty solid spot, and they offer a fun array of some more standard café offerings alongside some unique signature and special crafted drinks. They did get my name wrong (even after I spelled it out for them), but other than that, the service was friendly and fast. I'll definitely swing by again if I can find the time.

With some coffees a second cup will give me a stomach ache (especially since I drink my cold brews black and bitter like my soul), but I had no problems with their cold brews! I also got the vegan stonefruit scone (baked by Sweet Dragon) and while a little on the dry side (common with scones), paired extremely well with the coffee and had good flavor. Husband got a cappuccino and a strawberry mini pie and was extremely pleased with his order. The service is friendly, but some things may have been new on the day we went. They almost forgot my cold brew until we asked at the counter, as well as stating that they didn't have anything to heat up my husband's strawberry pie (which seems odd, since a little toaster oven seems like a simple fix for that), but apparently it was fantastic at room temperature anyway. Seating was absolutely full when we got there and we were lucky to snag a table as another couple left, so it seems like a popular Saturday morning spot. Several folks were working on laptops, and it seems like a kid-friendly place. The decor is a clean and modern/trendy industrial style, which works well for the space, and the windows provide nice daylight. Overall, a good coffee shop and I am really happy to see vegan pastry options! I decided to try a dulce de leche coffee. While I was expecting a strong caramel profile of dulce de leche, the flavor turned out to be fairly subtle rather than prominent. It added a significant sweetness, but without knowing the order beforehand, identifying the exact flavor would have been tough. That said, the coffee itself was still refreshing The high quality of the coffee bean really shone through, delivering a rich aroma and the ideal caffeine kick for a breezy morning.
