This place gets five stars for customer service. I was very indecisive, but the gentleman at the counter was very helpful. I ended up ordering the number four ice milk drink. It has pudding, Oreo, and boba with the icy milk. I ordered it half sweet. In my opinion this place has very sweet drinks. My husband had the pineapple black tea regular, it was way too sweet for my liking. He loved it. The great thing is you can customize the sweetness and even your drink. There's free wifi available if you plan on dining in. I didn't order any food, but I give the tea 4 stars. You can't go wrong when you are able to customize. My Thai tea with crystal boba was extremely fresh and delicious. Just a warning it does run pretty sweet if you're not really big on that. I enjoyed that it was more drink than ice and you HAVE to try the cheesecake! It is so amazing! The customer service is wonderful! The staff is very friendly and quick. My friends always drag me to Amor, especially after meetings. As a student at SJSU, Amor is a very convenient boba place to go to that is close to campus. My go-to is always the Jasmine Green Milk Tea with every single boba places around the Bay Area and people may call me basic for it but ya know what ya girl done currrrr. Amor's Jasmine Green Milk Tea is pretty good though, so I have no complaints. I also recommend the red guava green tea. The atmosphere is very poppy, not too noisy not too quiet. It's a good place for students to study since they have free wifi too. But it is a small place, so it can get crowded most of the time. I absolutely love Amor's Lavender Milk Tea with extra aloe and less sugar! This place uses non-dairy creamer for their drinks and the cup sizes are fairly big (25oz is a small) so I'm pretty satisfied with that, just have some difficulties fitting them into my car's cup holders. I believe they also validate your parking for you in a nearby garage, and this place is open until 10 so its a good place to study and use it's wi-fi. If the teas weren't so expensive and adding up every week I would come here more often, but for now its a once or twice a week thing if I'm lucky! read more

My friend and I came here to get their snow ice, after we discovered that the Sno-zen on Santa Clara St. was closed! I got the Thai-ger snow ice, which was a Thai iced tea flavored snow ice. It came with mochi and I think the menu shows it coming with chocolate drizzle, but I asked if I could get it with condensed milk drizzle instead, which the guy said "of course." The portion of snow ice is pretty gigantic, definitely shareable between two people. The mochi was hard and tasted kind of stale - I had to eat around the mochi. But the flavor of the snow ice was good although the texture could have been "snowier." I wouldn't get the snow ice again. But the service was great. And it looks like people are raving about their milk tea and boba, so I'll come back to try the beverages. read more

Decent milk tea for the area. I've tried the milk tea, tiger milk, oolong, honey & lavender and rose & jasmine. All are fairly standard. Tiger milk tea tastes just like a Thai tea... Rose & jasmine is a great mixture but it was too sweet for me. I would definitely request it to be less sweet. Thursday nights are packed from SJSU students. I went on a Saturday night once and there was only 1 employee managing the entire place filled with 20+ patrons. Amount of employees vary based on days where they predict will be more customers than others, so you never know. Ask for a stamp card. 5 drinks will get you $2.50 off your next drink! By the way... Nothing special to see here. Milk tea was typical of other milk tea around the San Jose area. I'll give them credit for their pricing as it is budget friendly. Asked the girl if she can pour my milk tea into a canteen in an effort to save a plastic cup and be environmentally friendly but got rejected faster than a thirsty mofo on $2 Tuesdays at Temple. She said they used their single use plastic cups for "portion control" but continued to make my drink in a reusable cup and poured it in a single use plastic cup after all measurements were taken.Straight up lied to my to face as their single use plastic cup was not use for portion control whatsoever. Instead, portions were determined via their reusable cup. I would hope this establish follow in the footsteps of others (Tra Tea, TeeHee, Plentea, Snowmonster etc) and at least offer environmentally friendly options. In case y'all were wondering, I didn't use their straws. Went home and pour that in a glass cup when I should have poured it down the drain. read more

Giant macarons! Oh my gosh. That is all I have to say. Haha just kidding. I have more to say. I walked in with four other friends on a cold Tuesday night. We found parking in a P lot (we didn't know they don't validate because they have their own parking lot in the back). A man was outside the cafe and he was handing out these coupons that said buy one drink and get twenty five percent off the next, or 10 percent off entire purchase. I ordered a tiger milk tea and a red bean milk tea along with one pistachio macaron and a raspberry. The raspberry was delicious but the pistachio was AMAZING. Oh my god it was so stupidly good that I bought three more to take home with me later. The red bean milk tea had red beans in it but it didn't add much flavor. The tiger tea just tasted like a creamier Thai tea. Overall I had a great experience. I'm sad this wasn't here while I was at SJSU. Now I live in LB but if I didn't, I would totally go to this cafe all the time for that gorgeous pistachio macaron. Ugh it was so chewy and perfect. I want another. read more

Pretty good :) Discovered this place thanks to a friend. It's a tiny little place, but the service is great and the environment is cozy and welcoming. The place isn't large so there isn't a whole lot of seating available. However, they have a rather large table in the center with surrounding chairs which makes the place great for a groups. Additionally, they have karaoke nights which sounds fun. There are also chairs and tables outside to sit at. Another plus, is that there is a private parking lot right behind the place which makes parking easy (and free!). They have a lot of different teas, milk teas, and other drinks and food to choose from on the menu. I tried the lychee milk tea which was tasty. It was slightly sweeter than what I'm used to but it was still pretty good. The regular size is huge, I can't imagine getting any larger size and drinking it myself. 4 stars for pretty good milk tea, easy parking and access to the place, and pretty quick service. read more

4/8/18: Amore sold their shop to new owners. They still serve a good variety of tea drinks and poke. Sad news is it's not the same drinks and recipes. No more Oolong milk tea. I ordered a peach green tea and the green milk tea. I watched the employee add a half a cup of peach syrup in my drink. I took one sip and it was straight peach sugary syrup, couldn't even taste a hint of green tea. The green milk tea didn't taste like green tea at all. It was bitter but not good bitter. R.I.P. Amore. I am very lucky to live right next door to a boba tea place. I've tried Boba Cafe, Gong Cha, and Thirst Tea but Amore Cafe and Tea makes the most best tasting potent teas with the best boba! My go to is the roasted Oolong Milk Tea with white Boba! Service is excellent, the staff is personable and friendly. Convenience is not always a good thing. People say it's the best milk tea within walking distance from SJSU, but I'd rather drive out of Downtown San Jose to the good milk tea places in the surrounding cities. The first time I had taro flavored shaved ice was at Sno-zen and it was 'oh my glob' delicious. Hence, I was really excited to try the Purple (taro) shaved ice here. So we ordered that and some milk teas. I got the Oolong milk tea. Here's the breakdown of what I ate & drank: Purple Shaved Ice (not recommended): - Overly sweet, must've been 75% sugar and 25% taro flavor -Mochi tasted like it's been sitting around for a long time... ya know old and dried. Oolong Milk Tea (not recommended either): One of the worse milk teas I've ever had. It tasted watered down and plain. Even between two people, we couldn't finish the shaved ice. Not because of the size, but due to the overwhelmingly sweet taste. The type of diabetes you don't want. I also couldn't finish my drink. I think I must have only drank a fifth of the cup before tossing it. I left with a totally unsatisfied sweet tooth. Not sure why this place has such a high rating. It's a cute place and the workers are really nice and efficient, but in terms of quality and taste, it is not that great. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing I don't know. I tried their Jasmine Milk Tea and it was just ok, nothing special. What drew me into this place was that it had shaved snow, and I was craving some ice cream type dessert at the time. I ordered the Thaiger - which was basically Thai Tea shaved snow with mochi, tapioca, and chocolate drizzle. I replaced the chocolate drizzle with condensed milk. HOWEVER, I soon realized that that was a poor and unnecessary decision. So I don't know if all their shaved snows are like this, but the consistency of the shaved snow was super gooey and thick. It wasn't flaky, light, and soft like most other snow places. I was really confused and it almost looked really unappetizing. The shaved snow itself was also VERY sweet. I clearly didn't finish it, and so it then melted into like a thick pudding. I concluded that they must mix condensed milk or simple syrup or something into their shaved snow making it way too sweet and giving it that gummy texture as well. However, I did love the decor and paintings on the wall, it was very cute. This place also has snacks (gyoza, garlic fies, wings) and coffee/espresso. I don't see myself actively coming back here. G got a white peach milk tea - the tea was flavorful and just the right amount of sweet. Definitely a plus that they are generous with their portions (I didn't have to ask for extra boba). We ordered off their snack menu - popcorn chicken (what a crunch!) and sweet potato fries. LOVED their dip for the fries. I opted for a non-tea option and got their Vietnamese coffee - definitely a daring choice, but worth it. The coffee hits the spot for an afternoon caffeine craving. They use imported Taiwanese tea to make their milk tea, and you can taste it. Lisa, who owns the shop is super nice and lets me customize my milk tea (jasmine with strawberry or with honeydew). The pearls are also perfect, very Q and easy to chew but not overcooked. They have a buy 5 get 1 free card. The atmosphere is great for a hangout or just a quick milk tea run, esp since it's so close to MLK library! I can't really describe it, since the words wouldn't do it justice. They offer self served sauces located near the door that pair well with the snacks. Drinks was okay.... it satisfied my boba craving but was it anything really special... not really. The oreo cheese cake was soggy.. I was really excited to eat it - esp since anything oreo is delicious, but this one was left in the fridge probably a day too long. Other than that, service was great! Their employees have "great energy" and you can totally feel they are genuinely nice people. The music is awesome! They play all the music that we grew up listening to! Amr answered all our desires for a post-meal drink and sit down. Everyone was happy because: There is coffee. There is tea. And there is bubble tea! We ordered the cafe latte (pops usual), honey milk tea (tastes like childhood! - melon milk is the bee's knees), and dirty Thai tea (Thai tea with 2 shots of espresso). I like that we were able to choose the sweetness of our drinks. Though, you can't get below 60% sweetness for thai tea, but can go a whopping 130% (saying No to that, is saying no to diabetes!) so make you choices and enjoy what this place has to offer. read more

Had the strawberry tea here for lunch one day and it was delicious and very refreshing. The tea had strawberry pieces it in so I didn't add any boba. I think the drink tasted just fine without any boba balls. I got it with less ice and sugar and it was a bit sour, but it was still perfect for me. It would be really delicious on a hot summer day. Update: 8/22/18 Employees are nice, but the wait time sucks. I was the first customer that walked through the door and it took literally 15 minutes to get my drink because more people came in after me and instead of telling people to just wait, they kept taking orders as people walked in and only started the drinks when the owner came out to help. If for not the owner coming out, the other guy would still be taking orders. After no one else walked in, the other guy helped the owner. So insufficient. They should have better time management. Being the 1st person to walk in and waiting this long is not acceptable. After I use my points for my next drink, I'm not coming back. I did come in today for the $2 Tuesday milk tea, but 20 minutes is ridiculous. These girls must be new. One was a skinny girl with a pony tail and wearing glasses the other one was a chubby girl with a pony tail. Both are asian. They are really slow in making drinks. Then while waiting for my drink, the chubby girl's friend walks in and she whispers to her friend if she wants a drink and said it's FREE. She should be focus on making drinks and helping customers versus chitchatting. They also don't know how to make the drinks. I ordered a green milk tea less sugar and it's hella sweet. During my summer internship in San Jose, the apartment I was assigned to happened to be right across the street from Amor. And despite the competition, after an entire summer, I can confidently say that Amor is the best boba place in the downtown area. It's been over a year and my wife and I still crave the drinks here sometimes. I came here at least once a week. My favorites were Tiger/White Tiger, Honey Jasmine, and White Peach. The best quirk about this place is that the drinks are not overly sweet. I usually have to get half sugar at most places but I don't have to here. Another quirk is that most of their ingredients are pre-cooled, so the drinks are always cool and refreshing from the get-go, instead of having to wait for the ice to cool them down. Great for a nice treat after an intense workout. The service has been nice every single time I came. Seating is extremely limited so don't expect to stay. I really enjoy getting boba at Amor. It's near SJSU which is conventient. The boba is a decent boba place. The food is okay, drinks well made, and the service is pretty good. My favorite drink to get here is the Honey Citron Ginger Green Tea. It is the perfect amount of sweetness, and there orange peels in it as well as a hint of ginger. The boba is really chewy which I personally enjoy. However, the milk tea here is only decent it isn't anything amazing. This is a good spot to go if you are craving boba but it's not amazing or anything. I would recommend this to friends, especially students who go to SJSU because it is at such a convenient location! I came to Amor for a friend's graduation celebration. I tried their Rose Jasmine milk tea and it came with real rose petals in the tea! I was surprised because I think I've only ever seen this done at Half & Half in the LA area. Their tea was not too sweet and even though the rose flavour was strong, it didn't feel artificial. Their boba is decent as well. The store owner was very nice and even gave two cakes to my friend to celebrate her graduation! We took over the entire cafe but all the staff were very gracious and patient with us while we ordered our drinks.
