Brecks has a great outdoor seating area, reasonable pricing and a great staff. I recommend Brecks but save a seat for me!

I had high hopes for Breck's and was excited to see them open since I walked by every day for a few months while they were under construction. A quick check on Yelp and I learn they serve Verve coffee! Sounded so promising especially since the neighborhood lacked a place with solid espresso drinks. I politely ordered my coffee drinks to go and bought coffee beans to boot. Older gentleman behind the counter suggested I sit down and they'll bring me the drinks rather than browse their selection of wine and coffee beans. I told him I'd rather stand and browse since I've been sitting for so long. The shop was not crowded and my two drinks took a while to come out. I see the barista with two cups of coffee and bringing them outside to a table looking for me. I poked my head out and stated those were ordered to go. His response with an annoyed face? "Awesome!" He takes the flat white and cappuccino and pours them in paper cups and proceeds to hand them to me. Seriously?! There's a huge issue here: 1) Coffee is now cold. It warmed up two containers - a ceramic cup and a paper cup and the transfer from container to container also causes a drop in temperature 2) Foam is now watery and not the right texture 3) I didn't pay $5+ for a cup for mediocre coffee. If you took the time and effort to serve Verve coffee and oat milk then do Verve some justice. Service here was really lacking. Had I went to Starbucks (not saying it's amazing coffee but service is definitely superior), they remake any coffee they made a mistake on. I read the other reviews about crappy service to non-whites. Is that why I felt the cold service? If so, hate to break it to you but Inner Richmond is full of non-whites and you should have opened elsewhere...even outside the Bay Area. Thanks again for the reminder not to tip any place before I get my food/drinks. Won't be doing that again. Don't worry, I won't be returning. read more

Adorable, cozy spot for my morning coffee or evening drink. A real getaway. The staff are always friendly and helpful, ready to assist in any way. Most importantly, they will not judge my several rounds of drink orders after a long day :) Lively and cheerful patrons abound. Hey Breck's, you have a nice interior and a good concept going. This was my third visit, and unfortunately, the barista behind the counter was having a very loud conversation about her "useless" coworker with another coworker. It was just me and another customer in the café at the time. Her rant was so loud I had to move outside. Always remember your people are your brand, and I have to assume that employee's behavior is not consistent with what you're trying to achieve. Also the chai latte I was served was lukewarm almost cold. You can do better. read more

Simple and good, we had some flash iced coffee and a quiche and panini. Good for light pick me up. The staff was so nice and the tables were spaced and sanitized. It felt like we weren't in the city for a second. They had a good selection of quality food and beer and wine, beer on tap too. read more

Friendly staff, great coffee in the am and wine/beer on tap in pm. WiFi is great/fast and atmosphere is causal. They have a wonderful selection of bottled wines as well in addition to affordable wines by the glass. Highly recommend a coffee here and croissant at Arsicault next door! We will be back! read more

Breck's is the BEST-ideal on a Sunday morning after or before visiting the Clement farmer's market, or a glass of wine and a cheese plate in the afternoon post work. The coffee is delicious, and the breakfast sandwich is my go-to for an easy, delicious breakfast on the weekends. On top of being the perfect neighborhood coffee shop, they have the best wine selection-truly everything you could want, including amazing natural wines. It's such an underrated happy hour spot. Great corner to sit outside and people watch, read a book, or go on a date. What's more, the staff is so kind. Can't recommend this spot enough. read more

Win win :) It's extremely convenient (almost too convenient) to be able to pick up a good bottle of wine and a good cup of coffee in the same place. I had a similar experience as Nadia with the owners being snooty. Upon arrival the cashier did not greet or even smile at me. I ordered two drips and got to the coffee station and found that there were no lids or clean spoons left. I let the barista know and was handed a lid and handful spoons and asked to place the clean spoons into the container. Aside from the barista they had two other workers...and it wasn't even busy! Was excited to try this place out with so many options and competition around I thought I would have a great experience. Definitely underwhelmed. Came with a friend walked over from Richmond Republic and thought we'd give it a try. First time in no one was at the counter all of a sudden some guy gets up from one of the tables as if he was a customer and walks behind the counter. Doesn't welcome us in just stands there staring at us. Got two glasses of wine and sat in the awkward seating setup. A word of advice hire someone with customer service skills and knows how to smile. Got the wine which he poured uneven. Both our glasses were not an even pour as my friend got more wine than I did. I will try to come for some coffee as that seems to be what most people were ordering anyways. We left walked over to Interno on Geary and had a completely different experience, welcoming, friendly, warm bought a bottle and even got comped and app. read more

We live in the neighborhood and this is our go to coffee shop along with our go to stop for a nice bottle of wine. They have a nice little selection from Rose to Cabernet. They also started to make some food that is delicious. The egg, bacon and avocado breakfast croissant is so good! read more

I stopped by with a close friend for a quick bite and was immediately impressed with the friendly staff. Although the menu is not huge what was available was off the charts , I got the tomatoes & burrata cheese salad my friend got the avocado toast with smoked salmon and we both got a latte and sat at the tables outside waiting for our food. Staff came and brought silverware and water our coffee next our food .... it was incredible the tomatoes couldn't have been fresher as was delicious burrata and evo balsamic dressing which was incredible my friends avocado toast w/ smoked salmon was excellent too. We are new to the neighborhood and love that Breck's is so close! Our only wish is that they were open a bit earlier, at least on weekends. The coffee is great and better than other options (in my opinion) nearby. The wine selection is also wonderful and the staff are very friendly. We highly recommend checking them out! read more
