Update to my January 28, 2021 review: It has been six months since Breezeways shamefully claimed that my HVAC Unit needed a "new Condenser Motor and to be injected with A/C Renew"!! As previously reported, no repairs at all were needed and my unit has been running flawlessly, proving that the Breezeways claim was very deceitful for extracting a few $$$ with no regard to a good long-term customer relationship. Elder abuse/They lie/ they use scare tactics/ and they are very rude/ they will leave your house a mess If you experience this make a complaint with the registration of contractors which is what I'm doing We had steamy concepts come out because we had a flood in the water heater room they said they had to rebuild the pedestal so the AC and the water heater had to come out well they referred breezeway Heating And Cooling company to come out and remove it immediately they said that they need a new unit and asked if I can call the landlords out then They remove the unit and the black north showed up shortly after and they tried using scare tactics to sell a new unit they said that they can't install the unit at first then they said there's multiple things wrong with the unit and that the parts are more than the unit and they need a new unit took them all day to reinstall it and the whole time the guys were there they were yelling really loud talking stuff about the landlords and calling them cheap in Spanish little did they know they didn't know we knew Spanish and then on top of that when they left there is so much dust around the house dirt debris from their work in the rooms dust all over my bed all over my couches TV everything in the entire house they failed to put up containment and they didn't even come prepared with the right tools so next day I got another company out and they fixed the unit only thing that was wrong with it was a capacitor and it needed Freon they lied try to scare people into buying their product and when they couldn't sell it they got really mad I would not recommend having this company in your home if you do call them out I would be careful always get a second opinion because if these people are trying to rip someone off what makes you think they're not doing it to other people Shame on them for trying to take a vantage of older people and lying and leaving someone in the middle of the summer with no AC and 80% humidity outside watch out it For this company read more

Have had nothing but problems due to faulty installation of expensive AC unit two years ago by Breezeways Air Conditioning & Heating Tucson. The poor installation on our roof has caused consistent water leakage that has damaged our ceiling. Their technicians who have visited our home on our insistence have not fixed the issue and in some cases added foam sealant in areas where they should not have. We have asked to speak with the owner who will not call. Would not recommend Breezeways services to anyone. read more

I had a Groupon and called them to send a tech to check out my A/C. I have had other companies come out and suggest everything from saying my unit was on it's last legs (it's not) to try to sell me a new one! It couldn't have happened at a worse time. The pandemic, a tight budget, 110 degree weather, then the AC craps out. Ray from Breezeways squeezed us in to a busy schedule within half hour. He diagnosed the problem and his colleague Tanya spent 3 hours searching for parts for my obsolete unit. She was empathetic and worked very hard to help us find a solution. Get someone else. It will save you from inferior service and inexperienced service people. They are difficult to work with and do not back up their "sales pitch". I purchased my 9/9/2020. They never came to service my unit annually as promised. Even after I attempted to contact them several times. I cannot get ahold of anyone at the office. There 24 hours service is a joke. I tried calling and got connected to an answering service for Perry Heating and Cooling, they have nothing to do with Breezeway. Now my unit stopped working and I am unable to get in touch with the office. I was suppose to get the ECO-Bee Thermostat with the installation of the unit and did not. Go somewhere else! Be very careful doing business with breezeways. They charged me almost as much as a new air conditioner to fix a three year old air conditioner that was just out of service warranty but still under manufactures warranty. They didn't tell me about the fee until it was done. They sent me an estimate which went to my spam and I never saw. They seem to think that this constitutes an agreement to pay that. I allowed work to go ahead because I was verbally told by the technician that there would be a labor charge. Having not mentioned any exorbitant fees, I falsely assumed it would be a normal service fee. They bullied me into paying the bill in the end. I did business with breezeways for years and I've had bad experiences since new management took over a couple years ago. It is not the same business and I expect they won't last long. read more

Get the maintenance plan! We had to replace both HVAC units when we moved here in 2006. We got the maintenance plan as part of the installation. You're at the top of the list when repairs are needed; and many can be avoided because the system is checked twice a year. Our 13 year old main HVAC unit needed to be replaced (the freon had been recharged twice). They came out very quickly and got it working well enough to get us through the night (the smaller unit for the MBR was still OK). After a thorough discussion and explanation of our options, we decided to replace both units since the smaller unit used freon that is no longer approved. Early Wednesday, two techs were out here replacing both units. They were here for 9 hours. EVERYTHING was replaced. There are more efficient coils on the new units, the motors are two stage, there are sound dampening blocks for the outside units. Extra insulation was added to the lines and better sealants are now available to reduce leaks. Previously, we had single stage motors. The new 2 stage motors are very quiet. The house temperature came down from 82 to 76 in 35 minutes. The airflow is vastly improved; the rooms on the hot south side of our house are actually as comfortable as the family room. The smaller unit install was finished on Thursday and it is wonderful to not have the WHOMP sound when the fan kicks in. The guys did a great job of cleaning up during and after the install. I was due for my winter maintenance. The technician David, was late but kept me informed, which I appreciated. He did his scheduled maintenance and found my coils needed to be cleaned. They were cleaned in April 2019, Breezeway charged me over 800.00 to do the cleaning and it needs to be done AGAIN? 8 months later? there was also A LOT of air coming out of the side of the unit, which was supposed to be fixed in April as well. So much air leaked out it kept opening the accordion door the unit is in. David sealed this up, and it is much better. David is going to speak to Breezeway about the coil cleaning. I will see what they say... David was very professional and helpful. I would recommend David as a service technician, he knows what he is doing and in very informative. I give 5 stars to David. Of I have to rate the business and not the technician, I give Breezeway a 2.5. read more

Beware of Deceitful and Unethical Business Practices Last July, my AC suddenly started behaving badly - with intermittent failures. I first noticed it on a Thursday evening, I called Breezeways on Friday morning, and they sent a technician out on Friday evening. When the technician arrived, he was unable to determine the exact source of the failure. He acknowledged that he was a new employee to this company and new to the HVAC industry, which is why he called his manager to get his advice. Finally the technician recommended that he clean the condenser coil. He said this would typically be an expensive cleaning, but they would make me a deal: $250 for the condenser cleaning, if I purchased a 3 year service warranty for $600, for a total charge of $850. He said the cleaning was 95% likely to solve my intermittent AC failure. I agreed to this and the technician cleaned the condenser coils and then departed. NOTE that they did not provide any documentation and I did not sign any invoice or receipt for service. The next day, the AC unit again failed and I called Breezeways. This time they sent their supervisor out, and he was also unable to determine the root cause of the problem. When he was at my house, the AC unit was working, and he could not find root cause of the problem. He departed. Day three - Sunday - the AC unit again failed, I called Breezeways and they sent the supervisor back out again. This time he did more research, took more measurements, and determined that the interior windings were failing. He informed me that because the AC unit had exceeded its life expectancy (it was 16 years old), I would need to replace the entire unit. I expressed my frustration that I had paid for a cleaning and warranty on a unit that was 16 years old. The supervisor apologized for the previous technician and again indicated that particular technician was new to the company and to the HVAC industry, and he "probably shouldn't have sold me an unnecessary cleaning." He said that if I purchased a new AC unit from Breezeways, they would give me a 100% credit for my previous $850 payment. I then got a 2nd and 3rd opinion about the AC failure (which was confirmed), and I solicited five estimates for a new AC unit. I found that the Breezeways estimates for a new AC unit were $3000+ higher than any other company for the same types of units - same size and quality. I then purchased a new AC unit with another local company. I then contacted Breezeways in August, for documentation regarding the 3 year service warranty I had purchased. Their office manager sent me a receipt that indicated I had paid $725 for a condenser cleaning, along with a $125 service visit. This was absolutely incorrect, and I immediately called her to clarify the situation, explaining that I had purchased a 3 year warranty, along with the coil cleaning. I naively assumed this was an honest mistake and I encouraged her to speak with the original technician to clarify what has been verbally sold to me. I also pointed out that the receipt she sent me was signed with the initials "SD" - but my initials are "NM." She said she would research this and she would call me back. She never called me back. I then called the supervisor to explain the situation and after discussing this with him, he said he would support a 50% refund of my $850 payment. He believed this was a reasonable resolution to this situation. He indicated the office manager would need to process the refund. So I called the office manager again. She said she'd have to speak with the owner because he was the only person who could process the refund for me and she'd talk with him to process the refund. However I never heard back from her. I called the office manager 2 dozen times over 2 months and she never returned my calls and never processed the refund. She also never provided documentation regarding the 3 year service warranty I was sold. After three months of unsuccessful communication with Breezeways, I reached out to the Better Business Bureau, but they were unable to intervene and the dispute remains unresolved through them. I have now consulted a lawyer and I will be pursuing a dispute in small claims court. The cause for my dispute is very clear: 1. Breezeways sold me a coil cleaning that was unnecessary and unrelated to the cause of my AC failures. I paid them $850 for service, but they did not do anything that resolved the AC failure. 2. Breezeways verbally sold me a 3 year service warranty, but did not provide me any documentation or receipts at the time of service. 3. When I reached out to Breezeways one month after the service, requesting documentation for the service warranty, they provided a receipt that was entirely different from what I was sold. I have never written a negative online review before, but I truly believe this company has demonstrated deceitful and unethical business practices and I would strongly urge you to seek out service from any other AC company in Tucson. read more

They came out to do the inspection there was an issue with a part. My husband checked and the part is under warranty. He called over a month ago and left a message with a woman who said she would have them call us but we have not had a return call. My husband tried again this week and so far....nothing. This is a problem we had with them when they first took over for the company that we originally had. Stay away from this company. They charged us far too much to install a new air conditioner in the fall of 2019 which was installed incorrectly by a technician who left the company shortly thereafter. Since that time, we have had nothing but problems, including major water leakage in our ceiling just below the AC unit anytime it rains. They have tried several quick fixes none of which has worked. We have asked that they take out the AC unit and re-install it correctly, but now they are unresponsive. We will be filing a report with the Better Business Bureau. I have been a customer for 13 years when my system was installed by BreezeWay. I've had a maintenance plan from the begining as I am aware that maintenance is key to keep things in good working order. In general I was satisfied with BreezeWays service. In February I signed up for another 5 year maintenance plan with the plan begining April, 2020. My air conditioner was working well no problems...cooling the house perfectly. I called to schedule my first maintenance service under the new plan. Immediately the person that come out...did a few thing and told me I had a small pin hole leak in my interior coil. He then started to tell me that I probably needed a new system cause repairing it would be costly and parts were probably not available. I voiced my concern and told him the system was working just fine and although 13 years old it was a Trane which is top of the line and should hold up for at least a few more years. My neighbors just replaced a 21 year old air conditioner that was put in by the builder and was definitely not top of the line. When I asked for options, he gave me the old song and dance that systems don't hold out in Arizona and pushed for a new system. He obiviously tried scare tactics and said the leak was probably going into the vents and into the house. He then left and sent me estimates for a new system and an estimate to replace the coil and compressor. After doing research, both were clearly inflated and the system he quoted was one of the cheapest system. I decided to get a second opinion and had another company look at the system. First they were not seeing a leak. Secondly they said that even if there was a leak the coil could be replaced and gave me an estimate to replace the coil which was half as much as the BreezeWay quote. He also encouraged repairing the system if needed given the fact that the system was a top of the line Trane. This was very upsetting but not unexpected. Given this information, I clearly do not want to continue service with BreezeWay. When I called asking to get a refund for my unused maintenance services, I got the run around. This is a really bad experience! This is a 5 year plan that I paid for...not cheap! If this is how BreezeWay does business by cheating people...I don't want to do business with them. I immediately called and explained my frustration with both the service tech and their services. All I wanted was a refund for the remaining unused services. After several calls I finally got someone who said they don't do refunds. When I filed a complaint with BBB BreezeWays stated a refund would hurt their business...SERIOUSLY? Finally they offered me a pitence of a refund if I didn't post negative reviews. Basically it was an insult! BreezeWays claimed that it would cost just under $600 for a service call without the maintenance plan...just goes to show you how inflated their prices are....and there was no maintenance done just a sales pitch. I realize there are other underhanded overpriced companies out there but this one has a name... BREEZEWAYS HEATING AND AIRCONDITIONING! So BEWARE! read more

I have a maintenance agreement with Breezeways for four years. I purchased a new air conditioning unit in 2017. I have been satisfied with their service until yesterday. The appointment was missed, I contacted the office to ask why I hadn't heard from the technician, Kayla said he had called twice, and I did not answer the door. When I told Kayla there were no missed calls on my cell phone she expressed her disbelief. I told Kayla I work from home, had not received any calls, no one knocked on my door or rang my bell. The only time I was not indoors was to take the trash out to my backyard. I have a large dog that barks whenever someone comes near the house. I requested a manager give me a call. No one called me. A technician arrived about an hour past the appointed time. I was on a teleconference and unable to stay with him. The technician told my husband we needed a new filter. I called the office and asked for an explanation. The technician told me the filter had too many holes and would damage the heating coils. I have a washable electrostatic filter with a MERV9 rating. The filter has an expanded aluminum grate to hold the filter in the aluminum frame. The technician did not examine the coils and was unfamiliar with the filter. I left messages, emails, and contacted Breezeways through their website-NO ONE HAS CALLED OR EMAIL Breezeways has made major improvements! My spring maintenance check-up was done by Dave. Dave took time to show the pressure gauges, explain what the readings indicated, recommended us sealant, returned three days later, checked the pressure which showed steady. My confidence in the work has returned. I'm in the process of selling my home. When the home inspector found the heater flu vents were not properly screwed together. I called Breezeways, a technician was at my home the next day, attached the vents, photographed the repair and provided an statement for the realtors. Breezeways did all that at NO CHARGE - beyond my expectations. read more

Instead they said "looks great, no service needed". Recently had a major fail on a system. They worked hard and late into the evening to diagnose and repair. Technician kept us aware of everything that needed to be done and schedule for repair. Even left his cell in case there were any issues. (there weren't). read more

We purchased two rooftop air conditioners from Breezeways and kept them under continuous maintenance; this service has cost over 1,000 dollars. Recently, after nine years, one of the two units had a problem, it diagnosed quickly, and repair was simple. A starting capacitor was weak and failed to start the cooling fan. Breezeways charged me $254.00 for the faulty part. When I looked the part up online, I saw that "I" could buy the same capacitor from the same manufacturer for $14.00. With repairs completed Breezeways conducted a long past due-maintenance on both units. It's puzzling that a long-standing; loyal customer, would be charged a markup of over 1,800 percent! I shudder to imagine the cost to a non-loyal customer. Also, the defective oil-dripping capacitor was tossed off my roof and into the front yard where it was left for me to collect and discard. Something is different with this business, new ownership - perhaps. It isn't irrational that a long-time loyal customer should expect fair and reasonable pricing and be respected and valued in the process. read more

It was time to replace one of our two 13-year-old A/C units in June 2014 -- and I decided to go with Breezways after factoring in their estimate, the brand of equipment (Trane), and their reputation on-line (e.g. BBB, Angie's List, AZ Roc). They showed up as scheduled and installed a new Trane split system on the hottest day of the year (up to that point) -- poor guys: our furnace/blower is in the attic of a two-story house, so who knows how hot it was up there. They seemed to do an excellent job. The technicians were Jesus, Jose and Luis and I was very happy with their dedication and expertise. The cost was about $8K, but it was the best price I was quoted on two-stage Trane equipment. All-in-all, everything seems to be going well and we've survived our first summer with our new A/C unit and we're satisfied with our experience. read more

I just can't say enough about Breezeways service and the wonderful staff who work there. I have a unique cooler that has been self-maintained for 7 years and probably shouldn't have been! I finally gave up because I was having a difficult time getting parts, etc. When I called Breezeways they came out right away--during high season even! Not only was the inspection of my cooler thorough but Jason found hairline cracks that were causing problems that I would have never found. He pointed them out to me--not on the roof--but removed the part and brought it to me on safe ground of course--and then explained that my cooler, being of Australian make might be tough to find parts for but he would give it his best. Jason came through only a week later with all the necessary parts needed and we setup another appointment for him to come back out to service my cooler. The parts are expensive--at no fault of Breezeways, I'm just glad they found them! But labor pricing is more than fair. My air conditioner was old and loud (outside my bedroom window) and could go at any time so I decided to be proactive considering they usually go in the hottest part of the summer. I called Breezeways, they had been referred by a friend. The appointment was with Cesar, he arrived on time, checked out my unit, heat pump, and then we sat down to discuss my options. He was knowledgeable, not pushy at all, had a brochure explaining the business, what size unit needed, prices, and financing options. I purchased an air conditioner/heat pump that has a steam humidifier attached (perfect for AZ winter), they installed, took away the old a/c, heat pump, and left my house neat and clean. I also have a maintenance contract to service the unit every six months, plus a 10 year warranty. Mona, the Office Manager, followed up with a call a couple days later to make sure everything was okay. I would highly recommend calling Breezeways to purchase a new unit or services to your unit.
