Great service, delicious organic tea (with no sugar - healthy!), and decent food at slightly high prices. They are popular so it was a bit of a wait, but I enjoyed hanging out with my friend so the wait was actually not a bad thing this time. Lol. We both got the avocado sandwich with a fried egg on top and the sandwich was good... except the egg. :( now, to be fair, I am a master egg maker and I am very particular to how I like my eggs. I would have preferred if they used pink freshly ground salt when seasoning the egg and really for the price and size of the rest of the sandwich, there should have been 2 eggs on it. Not one egg cut in half to spread it out over the sandwich. There was definitely not enough egg but the sandwich was still good, I just could have made a better one so I can't give five stars for something I could have done better... The strawberry mint oolong tea was amazing! Especially considering there was no added sugar. There was still lots of flavor and I enjoyed it :) 5 stars for the tea! Haven't been here in years, I decided to give it a shot after a long time (since covid). Unfortunately nothing has changed. Coffee is mediocre at best. I tried the mint latte and it was okay. I think there are better mint coffees in San Diego/La Mesa. It's not the worst, but there is better coffee out there. One notable thing that has changed is a 2 hour wifi restriction. This is not very student friendly and kind of annoying. I used to study here because of all the big tables which is great for study groups, but with the wifi restriction, that's not really possible. I give it a 2/5 because the staff was very friendly and timely with my order during a rush, they were very nice and helpful when helping me pick out a drink. read more

Big fan of the bitchin avocado toast... it was a unique twist of avocado toast with some type of Cajun seasoning and Canadian bacon. Toast was crispy and food was fresh. This is a great place to study since there's so many seats with outlets. There is a Wi-Fi limit of 2 hours though. Brew Coffee Spot is a breath of fresh air/aroma in otherwise utterly boring San Carlos scene. New, hip, fresh, modern, with great food and drink menu! The space is very large inside with plenty of seating area, my only issue was that most of the tables were taken by a single person with a laptop occupying the entire 4 seats table. Its not a college library, people, its a coffee shop! It would be nice to see more communal seating and cozy chairs and couches. There is also a large outside patio seating, which is always a bonus! I've ordered a simple latte and a turkey caprese sandwich for my afternoon meal. Latte came in a nice mug, with a cute heart design. It was strong, yet smooth with great lingering flavor. The sandwich was perfectly toasted on the outside, very flavorful and filling. There are several types of bread you can choose from when ordering your sandwich, which is rare thing to see at the coffee shop, and i greatly appreciated the selection. Among other items, they serve acai bowls and fruit parfaits. From now on it will be my to go spot for quality espresso and munchies when i'm in the area. One of my favorite coffee spots in La Mesa! I used to come here often when I used to live down the street. Sometimes I'll go out of my way to visit this place because of the ambiance! Brew is pretty lively and filled with people every time I stop by. There's a lot of seating though! There are tables lined along the walls where people tend to study/get their work done (outlets galore! I've never had an issue with finding an empty plug for my electronics). Larger tables are arranged in the center of the space, where most people chat/play board games/enjoy their food. There's also a large, dog-friendly patio outside that's perfect for catching up with friends! I see a lot of people in the patio area in the morning when it's not too hot. Their lattes are on the sweeter side, so I would ask to adjust the sweetness level if needed. I usually order their lavender latte with almond milk. The lavender flavor is not too strong, and more on the subtle side. If you're not looking for anything too fancy, they also now have a self serve coffee kiosk, where you put in $2 and pour your own coffee! read more

I like the ambiance, but the 2 hour Wi-Fi rule is inconvenient given the need for multiple transactions in order to have an extended study session there, as opposed to buying my items in one transaction. This past Sunday I went and the barista was in a terrible mood, so much so that she completely ignored me for 5 minutes while I stood at the food counter waiting for someone to acknowledge me. They had simply forgotten to heat my muffin, which could have been a quick fix. I finally decided to break the awkward silence between us both as I stood just feet away from her and asked for her help. She turned around to someone else and said, "Did you not remember to heat this muffin?" It was pretty obvious she was bothered and in my opinion, that should never project onto a paying customer or another employee in front of a customer. Be kind! read more

Fantastic coffee shop in a large parking lot. It's set back from the road at the end of a little strip mall building right on the end of the structure. Plenty of parking and some Saturdays they have mini car shows as various San Diego groups meet to show their cars and plan their weekly events, these mini shows are open to the customers of the coffee shop so get over there to check them out. We went this past Saturday and there were several Mopars and VWs to look at and remember the past. Just nice to enjoy a cup of coffee and walk around a bit looking at the classics. The lobby and outdoor area have plenty of seating and everyone is really spaced out. Probably one of the best uses of space I've seen in a while. Cool ambiance and not super loud so bring your laptop or pad if you want to knock out school or work assignments. The customer service was awesome. The baristas were really fast and made us feel very welcomed. Small gender neutral bathroom and I only saw one so there seemed to always be a couple of people waiting throughout our time there. Super small slivers on a caprese sandwich, where the caprese is the main ingredient. This has been my go-to neighborhood spot for the past couple months, but can I get the size I ordered? I've never once received a full cup :(. It would be nice to get what I paid for. I would easily go to war for Brew Spot. The quiches are incredible. The bagels: Amazing. Specialty lattes and drinks - and/or just GREAT coffee. The staff has always been so helpful and happy to answer any of my drink questions, and even when there's a crowd (not sure I've seen it NOT crowded here) the service is excellent. This is one of my favorite little buzzing coffee shops in the area, and I 100% stand by the cost being worth every penny. Only takeout if you must... this place is worth the cozy wait. Be patient. I haven't come here for the longest time because it was hard to find a table...they were taken up by folks who hung out here all day long. In fact, once I sat by a young woman who was using a table to meet multiple people all day long. So I was happy to see that they changed their WiFi policy. 1 purchase = WiFi good for 2 hours. Completely reasonable. I have no problem buying more food if I want to stay for a long time. I've had mixed results with their iced coffees. Yesterday I got an iced mocha and it's served hot over ice. But the barista didn't put enough ice in it so after the ice melted it was kind of lukewarm, which wasn't the best. Spacious, clean, open area café with quite a few tables and chairs. It open at 7am, and I arrived at 8am. Short line, 2 patrons in front of me. Which was ok, because I has no idea of what to order. This café not only serves coffee their menu includes tea, breakfast, pastries, sandwich as well as oatmeal. Vast assortment of menu items. Customer service was typical nothing special. So I tried the pumpkin cinnamon roll and large Vietnamese coffee (4 shots of espresso and sweet condensed milk). The coffee was pleasant. A new favorite coffee for me. The textbook amount of caffeine with the perfect portion of sweetness. I love sweet coffee drinks. I wish it was offered in a bigger size but ill still take it. The pumpkin cinnamon roll is delicious. Very appetizing. Soft, moist with vibrant pumpkin notes. A perfect match. I will be returning in the future to explore more menu items. read more

I went there a little after 3 wanting to try some of their food because the reviews and pictures are great, but I was too late :/ I did get their Chai Latte, and it was good! I came in to watch some friends perform on a Friday night, which they apparently have from time to time. It is a very vast space for a coffee shop. Part of me wonders if that space could be used for more seating. But on second thought, I don't think they actually need more, and it would disrupt the flow and set-up of the place.
